Betrothed:
A Chibi Love Story

Bulma was at the stove cooking lunch quietly. Humming and tasteing the sause
for spice, when Trunks walked into the kitchen and sat at the table to doodle.

Casually, she asked, "Trunks, when is your father coming out?"

"He's not." He replied as he finished putting rabit ears on Piccolo.

Bulma grew angry at this. "Oh and why not?!"

"He said you were a stupid female who wouldn't know how to treat her man
if he told her face to face. So he won't grace you with his presence,"
the boy said using his best Vejita voice. Which was pretty good for a ten year old.

"Oh really?! That jerk! I make one comment about a visectimy and he
acts like I'm a psycho wife!!" She shook her head.

"Whats a visectimy mama?" Trunks asked inoccently, while he was served a steamy plate of noodles.

Bulma was caught offgaurd by the said question. "Um...
its somthing men can do after their married. So that
their wives don't get pregnant, honey." she explained.

"Oh! So dad still wants to have babies with you?," he asked as he ate.

"Maybe... You see, I never know whats going on in that mans head. Mystic bond my ass."

Trunks seemed satisfied then said,"Well thats why
I'm glad I'm marrying Goten. I always know whats going on in his head."

"Awe thats so..WHAT! Did you say marry?" The
shocked woman asked the seemingly calm boy who was drinking his chocolate milk.

"Yeah. When Goten and I grow up we're going to
get married. I thought I told you this?" he said as if it were nothing.

"Trunks what are you talking about? Start at
the begining. How did this um... marrige business
happen?" *Please not be what I think it is* she prayed.

"Well..." Trunks thought, "It happened about two years ago."
A small smile graced his young face which made his mother even more nervous.

"Okay... 1,2,3,GO!" Goten said as he slammed his forehead
into Trunks's and pushed really hard.

After spending the day watching animal planet on TV,
the two demi-saiyjins had decided to make like the
bighorns and bunt heads with one and another.

The resounding thunk that resulted, had attracted
a dominent female. And after Chichi dished out their
severe scolding, had sent the two little rams up to bed without their supper.

went Trunk's stomach "Chibi, your moms the meanest
lady in the world! How did she ever marry your dad?"

"She's not that bad. I mean, she cooks better than your mom," Goten said.

"I'll agree with you on that. But... how could your dad ever stand her?"

"Hey! My mom is nice to me and Gohan!
She says your the bad influnce," the younger retorted.

"Nimrod, You didn't answer my question!?
How did your parents get together?"

Goten blushed. "Oh yeah! That happens
to be one of my favorite stories that mom tells me!

You see... my dads grampa well um...
adopted grampa was once bestfrends with my moms dad."

"So?" said a bored Trunks.

"Shut up Trunks-kun! I'm getting
to the best part! Anyway, grampa
Myou, because he liked my dads grampa alot,
decided to send my dad out to help my mom
on a big adventure while they were kids, like us.

They fought alot and played with each other and ended up becoming great friends.

Because, mom liked being with my dad so
much and she thought he was real cool,
she asked him to marry her, so that they
could be together all the time and my dad
said yes. When they grew up, they got married
and were very happy with each other. THE END."

"Thats cool Goten-chan! Marriage sounds great!!" replied
the eight year old, who was on the other side of the bed.

"Yeah! But mom says you're only suppose to marry someone
you've known for along time and realy like and likes you back," Goten said,
"Oh and it helps if they're rich too so they can take care of you."

Trunks thought for a moment. He didn't like the idea of Goten having a more
important friend than himself and Goten seemed to like the idea of marriage...

He couldn't lose Goten. Who would he spar with?

He made up his mind.

"Then why don't we get married?" asked the younger demi-saiyjin.

"What?" Goten was not sure he heard him.

"I said Nimrod! Why don't we get married when we grow up?"

"Oh." said Goten. Trunks fit the bill alright.

He liked him, they'd known each other as long as
they could remember, and he was super rich! Plus Goten couldn't
think of anyone he would rather marry. "Okay!"

"Really! You promise?" Trunk's asked.

"Yeah! This is going to be great! No mommy's to stop us from fighting
and just you and me forever!" said Goten exitedly. "Alright its a deal."

Trunks yawned, "Goodnight Goten-chan." He bent and kissed his friend's chubby cheek.

"Goodnight Trunks-kun"

Turning off the light, the two demi-saiyjins fell into a peacful sleep, as betrothed.

"So... whats the big deal?" asked Trunks as if it were nothing.

"Whats the big deal! You're engaged to Son-kuns son!
Thats the big deal!" Bulma said exasperated. "You can't just
surprise me like this! Do you have any idea what you've done?!"

The ten year old leaned against the counter and started pealing
a bannana. "Yeah. I've made sure Goten and I stay together forever.
Whats wrong with that?" asked the boy, getting a little angry at his mother.

Bulma on the other hand was hysterical. "Oh nothing. Just that
my only son who hasn't even gone on a date yet has decided to already propose to his best friend and hasn't even told his mother about it!!"

Now Trunks was angry.

Why was his mother trying to ruin this for him and Goten?
"Hey! Me and Goten date all the time! You and his mom
set us up at first when we were babys, ya know!" Trunks said smugly.

"Those were play dates Trunks. They are different
from real dates." She shook her head. "What am I talking
about, is that you are to young to date, much less get married.
And I thought you were bright for your age."

She laughed at the silliness of the situation. "Don't worry son.
I'm sure you and Goten will meet someone you really want to marry when your older."

Trunks finished his banana and glared at his now calm mother.
He had the same look on his face he had when ever he didn't get his way.
His angry prince face.

"I don't think you understand mom. I don't want anybody else.
I promised to marry Goten," he said in a deadly quiet voice.
Then he stomped off to the gravity room.

Bulma didn't understand how Trunks could have gotten so angry.
Did he really plan on marrying the younger Son? I mean really,
they were two little boys. Sure they were close but gay? No way.

She had an open mind and all but she also wanted grandkids.

Also what would Vejita think?

Man she knew that fusion dance would have side effects.
*Come on Bulma, think. You are a genuis! Find a way to fix this.*

She picked up the telephone and dialed a familar number.

"Hello ChiChi. We have a little problem."

One hour later at the Son's residence.

"I am so glad you called me. Take a seat. I'll get some tea."
said Chichi as she opened the door.

Bulma was glad that her friend was concerned too.
If they were going to get through this "phase" with the boys,
they would need to work together.

She sat down at the table and waited for the other woman.

Chichi came in and poured the tea. "Sugar?" she asked.

Bulma shook her head.

Chichi sat down opposite of her.

For a moment they were silent and Chichi had her head hung.
Softly the younger woman spoke. "I can't help thinking this is somehow my fault.
I wanted to keep Goten innocent so I never got around to telling him about sex and marrige."

"I know what you mean and neither of them had much contact with other kids either,"
said the older.

"I thought that when the time came for Goten to start liking girls
I would have told him but he's too young for this," Chichi said sipping her tea.

Bulma smiled "Exactly. All we have to do is explain things to them
and everthing will turn out right."

"Exactly." Chichi agreed.

It was time for the "TALK". It wouldn't be pretty but it had to be done.
So they decided that tomorrow Bulma would bring Trunks over and they would sort this out.

Goten was confused. He was glad Trunks had come over but for some reason,
his friend was wearing his angry prince face. Wasn't Trunk's glad his mom
had brought him over to spar?

So like most things he didn't know, he decided to ask his older couterpart.

Trunks looked at Goten like he was an idiot. "Goten you nimrod!
My mom brought me here so they could tell us why we can't get married!
We'll be lucky if we ever get to play today," the pale prince said.

Goten made an angry sound and crossed his arms. He sliped on his pouty chibi goku face.

"Okay. We've got Gohan's biology books, the wedding album,
and chocolates for sanity," Chichi said.

"Looks like we're all ready. I just hope its enouph.
Trunks was dead set on spending the rest of his life
with your little boy. Can you imagine promising marriage at their age?" Bulma said incredously.

Chichi gave her a look that could peal the other womans skin off.

"Oh. I'm sorry Chichi-san I forgot."

"Well thats alright. But if we ever want to have
grandkids we better get started," the other woman said.

"Yeah, lets go."

And they walked into the kitchen where their sons were waiting.

"Okay." Bulma began, "Sweetheart, you know how me
and papa are married? and Krillen and 18 are married,
and how Goten's parents are married." Well that's because usually only girls marry boys."

"Why's that?" Goten asked inoccently.

"That's because only a boy and girl can have babies,"
Chichi said, giving her son an open biology book, which
Trunks grabbed and laid out on the table.

They both stared at the anatomy pictures which showed the human reproductive system.

"You see the daddy's sperm adds his genetic material to the
womans egg and then combines to make a zygote which grows in the mommy's belly for nine months. Then, it comes out as the baby," Bulma explained.

The boys were silent for a moment.
Then the pale haired prince spoke softly,
"So in order to have kids you need to combine your genetic
material and you need a place for the baby to grow?"

The two mother's nodded happily.

"Well, if we ever want to have children I'll just have
to find away for me and Goten to do that," he finished.

Both women fell anime style.

Trunks picks up the book and started to study it.
"Seems easy enough. All I have to do is combine Goten and my DNA.
Then make somekind of tank or artifical sac to put in one of us.
Hmm... C-Section? That would work."

Chichi grew livid. "You are not impregnating my son!" she screamed.

"Well that all depends. It might be me...
I think, we'll decide the same way as the dress," Trunks said matter-of-factly.

"What dress?" Bulma asked.

"The wedding dress!"Goten said happily,
"We'll have a fight and the loser has to were
the dress since we both can't wear black tuxedoes. That would be silly."

Bulma burst out laughing at the thought of
either one of them in Chichi's white wedding dress.

"If you both don't want to were black tuxedous,
I'm sure Goten would look wonderful in his father's white one," Chichi said thoughtfuly.

Bulma elbowed her and she snapped out of it.

"Gee thanks mom! Wow!" the boy got all starrey eyed. "Trunk's and I are gonna look cool!"

"Wait! Thats not what I meant!
You two cannot get married," Chichi said admittingly. "Boys cannot get married."

"Wait a minute," Trunks said,
"You said boys usually can't get married? You never
said that there was no way we could not get married."

"Well... they can in Hawaii and Vermont," Bulma said getting an elbow from Chichi.

"You hear that Goten! We're getting married in Hawaii!" the elder boy said.

"YUM! Pinapples!" the younger exclaimed.

The two started to talk amungst themselves.

"This isn't working," Bulma said to Chichi.

"I know." Chichi agreed.

"We need to change our stratagy," Bulma said, "Follow my lead."

The dark haired woman nodded.

Meanwhile, the boys were having a hand wrestle contest
and had stopped paying attention to their mothers.

/What's the deal with our moms? I thought they would be happy?/
Goten communicated telepathically to his bestfreind

/Yeah/ Trunks said back /I mean, your dad and my dad
are sparring partners and have known each other for years and our moms are like best freinds./

/Maybe they won't let us play together anymore/the
dark demi-saiyjin thought fearfully.

/Don't worry Goten-chan. If they pull a move like that we'll
runaway into space and then no one can stop us from getting married/ Trunks told his friend.

He ungripped his hand from the hold and stroked the back
of the other boys hand with his thumb.

Goten gave a weak smile back to Trunk's.

"Boys," Bulma said trying to get the demi-saiyjins attenion.

Trunks stared at his mother. He knew she was up
to somthing. He could tell because she was talking
in the same high coaxing voice she used whenever
she wanted something from papa. /Keep your gaurd up Goten/ Trunk's warned his counterpart.

"Chichi and I have decided that you two can get married," said Bulma.

A smile sliced across Gotens face at the news.

"IF! And only if, you two can prove you are in love."

The two looked at each other quizzically.

"Love?" Goten asked as he scratching his head
in puzzlement. "The way I love mommy and daddy?"

"No nimrod! Love, like my mama and papa are," Trunks said.

"Yes so, if you really love someone, first you
have to think that that person is attractive," Chichi said, "You know good looking?"

The young warriors turned to stare at each other.
For a minute they were silent, studying the others features.
Then Goten smiled and Trunks followed.

"Trunks has pretty eyes like a crystal and his skin is sorta
like a ripe acorn all smooth and brown," Goten remarked softly.

"And Gotens eyes are so black and dark that you could get lost
in them and his lashes are so long they look like fans on his face.
Also when he's flying and fighting backwards, his hair frames his face realy cool!"
Trunks commented.

"This is bad," Bulma whispered in Chichi's ear.

"It's not our fault our kids are bishonens," whispered Chichi back.

"Yeah, looks like they really do like each other that way.
But, to make sure this isn't a mistake, we better try somthing else,"
suggested Bulma. "Okay. Now that you know that you like each other, you have to show it."

"How do we do that?" Goten asked the blue haired woman.

"Simple," she said menacingly "You have to kiss each other on the lips for two minutes."

Bulma shrugged her shoulders, "If you like it, then your in love.
If you don't then you just stay as freinds. And thats that."

The two half saiyjins looked at each other and then at their mothers.
They were telling them to go into unexplored territory.

Trunk's had seen his parents do it many times.

Always when they never knew he was watching.

Could he do it? To stay with Goten? Yes he would!

Goten turned to his friend and very cautiously closed his eyes and stuck out his lips.

Trunks took a deep breath and placed his hands on the other boys
small shoulders. He took one last look at his mother.

She was smirking at him with the other woman. He felt so nervous.

Did they have to watch? Oh well... now or never.

The young prince closed his eyes and leaned in to place a gentle
kiss on Goten's baby soft lips. Then Trunks withdrew. He looked
at his mother to see she was still smirking and now Chichi was too.

*Darn it! That wasn't two minutes!*

Then he smirked. *How does papa do it?*

Goten made a muffled sound as Trunk wrapped his arms around
the smaller form and slid his tongue into his friend's warm mouth.

This wasn't like the other kiss. This was..kinda fun really.
Trunks tasted like pancakes and he was starting to feel real warm inside.

The little Son wrapped his arms around the other boy's and
started to use his tongue to stroke Trunks's.

The two women stared dumbfounded at the kissing saiyjins. It had been over two minutes.

Neither of them spoke, until Chichi said in a strained voice, "Welcome to the family."

"Likewise," said Bulma.
