Dragon Ball/Z/GT Fan Fiction ❯ Big problems in a small package ❯ nine ( Chapter 9 )

[ T - Teen: Not suitable for readers under 13 ]

Vegeta ran out of the animal safe house and into the living area. The others seemed to feel Grandfather’s ship coming. It didn’t matter though. Grandfather was his. Vegeta hurried over to the exit.

“Vegeta! Wait!” That had a snowball’s chance of that happening. As Vegeta was out the door and in the air. Goku clenched his hands and ran outside following Vegeta. The others went after him. Goku caught up to Vegeta quickly. Vegeta didn’t acknowledge his presence one bit. “Vegeta. We think you should stay behind until we know what this Grandfather person wants.”

“I do not take orders from you or anyone. I will deal with this myself. This is again not your concern. You are not wanted here.”

“And what are you going to do?”

“I have not decided. Decapitation, makes his entrails exposed to moonlight, rip his limps off, crush his head, blast him into nothingness, beat the life out of him, break every bone in his body, get your wife to nag at him until he goes insane, push him out an airlock if we get into the ship and space, hold his head under water if we stay. There’s so many things or ways I could do it. I can hardly choose. But I will!” Vegeta took a deep breath calming his voice and emotional roller coaster he was just riding on. “Do not worry though. I will fly him into space to do that so my promise to you will not be broken.”

A strange smile was on his face at the last sentence. But, it completely dropped the instant to looked back to where he was going.

“But, he is still so dead!”

“Vegeta I’m being serious here!”

“So I am! No one does that to my mind and lives!” Vegeta sped up his flight heading to the area Grandfather’s ki was. He was still on a ship in space but, in earth’s space. It was enough to estimated where the landing be.

Vegeta landed on the clearing. This was the logical spot was the ship to land. Goku and the others landed not long after him. Vegeta stood in front of them, arms crossed and completely still. There was no way he was going anywhere unless knocked out. But, the injuries to do that were not worth the chance to try.

Bulma wanted to run up to Vegeta and tell him to get his little furry tail home. The mother in her was really kicking in. But, if Trunks and Goten didn’t listen. She had no chance with Vegeta like this. This was personal.

The ship came into view. It was triangular in shape. Vegeta looked at it with hate and images of tortures and him yelling in pain. A sudden pain went across the back of his skull again. It was just like the time up at Korn’s place. Painful but, quick. Images flew across his eyes. The same one’s rage showed him but, with more detail.

XXX((((xx flashback

The space pod was in a electric field. Vegeta was able to ride it out but, Vegeta noticed small meteors inside of it. Vegeta tried the dodge them with the minimal steering he had on this pod but, the air tank and filter was damaged. The air was leaking. He only had a hour left and it was two or three hours to next planet. Even if he could hold his breath for a long time. It wouldn’t be enough. He would never make it with the air leaking out into space.

Vegeta tried to called to any ship with his communication center but, he was in an uncharted area of space. There was no life on any of these planets or life with enough intelligence to have something to pick up his signal. There was no answer anywhere. Every ship was out of communication range including Frieza’s. Not that he would ask for help there even if it was his life was in the balance. There was nothing he could do. He sat leaned back in the oversized seat and excepted what was his fate. No matter how embarrassing it was. To die because of a malfunctioning ship. That was not the ideal way to go for a Saiyan.

The air was nearly gone. Maybe a minute or two left. Vegeta wouldn’t even try to hold his breath. There was no point. The air was getting too thin anyways. It wouldn’t be long now. Vegeta eyes lowered and he chest was starting to heave. He was getting so sleepy. Vegeta knew the sleepiness feeling was his body shutting down from lack of air. It wasn’t going to be too much longer before he was going to dead for the second and finally time.

The computer was beeping. It was a alert that a ship received his signal but, Vegeta couldn’t open his eyes as the darkness come for him and started rapping him in the cold blanket of death. Vegeta was almost happy. Happy that all this with Frieza and the choas inside his own mind would finally be all over. He wouldn’t have to deal with it anymore.

Air was rushed into his lungs. It hurt but, it also felt so good. His eyes opened as he sat up quickly breathing deeply. Once his breath was back Vegeta looked up to see a old man with very long hair white that went down to the floor.

“My, my. We have a little dark spirt here, my children.” A boy with tentacles for arms stepped forward. Vegeta never seen this kind of species before.

“Looks like he’s been beaten twice a day for half a year.” Vegeta raised his hand to feel a translator behind his ear. He didn’t have one for a long time. It felt weird back there but, he could understand them. There would be a good chance he wouldn’t without it. There were millions of languages out there and he only knew one-hundred and eighty-one of them.

A girl with wings kinda like a butterfly’s and ears the pointed to the stars, came behind the boy. She opened his wings all the way and flew above both the boy and the old man.

“And staved for a long time. He’s so skinny. I can see his bones poking out.” She looks like a . . .Viloun. But, they died out such a long time ago. The old man smiled.

(Good young one. Very good.) Vegeta tensed looking at the old man. People just couldn’t get past his defenses this easily. He wasn’t normal.

X)(X back to present

Bulma had her arms around Vegeta. Vegeta snapped back realizing that. Vegeta stood and shook her off him. Bulma was hurt a little but, understood why he needed to do that.

“Are you okay?”

“Fine.”

“What happened?”

“A memory.”

“Your memory is coming back?” Vegeta looked at the ground. That was all he remembered about this.

“No. Just one memory. Staring Grandfather no less.” But, this seems too weird and too perfect on timing even. Can I trust what I so call remember? Or is it my mind playing tricks on me? I do not even know anymore. My mind has been messed with so many times I am not sure what to believe sometimes.

Bulma wasn’t the only one to noticed Vegeta’s attitude change. He was being too quiet after the whole thing.

“Vegeta. Are you sur . .” Vegeta’s voice cut her off. Like he don’t even hear her at all. Under the circumstances, he probably didn’t.

“He comes!” He said as the ship started to land. Vegeta’s hands spread out to his side. Bits of ki gathering at the palms. It was more of a precaution than a threat. But, people would be stupid if they thought it wasn’t a threat. Because it was but, still.

The dust flew up in the air, almost choking. Vegeta ignored it. Vegeta was clenching two fully formed ki blast in his palms, ready was anything. The dust settled as the ship powered down. Everyone watched as the door opened showing a figure of a small little girl with roundish wings. Taking two steps down she opened up the two patches on her shirt.

“What is she doing?” Tein asked louder than he meant to. Vegeta looked over his shoulder but, somehow keeping the ship in sight.

“She is a Viloun. They have special lungs on there shoulders that can breath in any kind of air or gas of and survive. She is testing the air for the Grandfather, no doubt.”

“That’s weird.”

“This coming from a so called humanoid like person with an eye in the middle of his forehead. I figured you to be little more open minded on such things. I must have giving you too much credit.” Even with Vegeta being somewhat freaked out, he still had the ability to snap out sarcastic remarks at a moments notice.

They watched on as the girl stepped back into the doorway for a few seconds before jumping off the stairs. Her wings opened as she glided softly to the ground. It was poetry in motion. Vegeta knew it was her from the memory that surface but, if that was suppose to be years ago. Then why didn’t she age of day?

That thought was pushed away with the figure of the one and hopeful only Grandfather. Grandfather looked exactly like the picture Vegeta drew of him. The old man looked around briefly when his eyes landed on Vegeta seconds later.

“Vegeta.” Vegeta narrowed his eyes.

“Grandfather.” Venom was thick and the hate was even thicker. Grandfather’s face looked hurt, not that Vegeta cared about his feelings.

“I’m hurt, Vegeta.”

“Not yet.” Vegeta raised his hands with the fully formed ki blasts. “But, that can be easily arranged.”

“You’re the same as how I met you many years ago. Untrusting with anger issues. I never had to time to work you through that.”

“Shut up! I do not want to hear it! You been trying to get into my mind. And for that . . . you will pay!” The old man only smiled and held up a talisman. Vegeta made a noise that sounded like a gasp. But, it was cut off and morphed half-way into something angry. “You grave robbing . . . Cilhuio! Bhukerwe jhe hu hdjdhsdkh hjoiuhkheolioooeewe! Idrfljk! Jijhd nee ndidn eruirmxs!” Vegeta kept yelling in his native tongue. Grandfather and the few other kids behind him just stared at him in his tirade like tantrum.

Vegeta started to huff and puff as he was trying to catch his breath. The kids behind Grandfather was talking to each other but, the girl was the butterfly wings pulled on the bottom of his shirt. He looked down at her.

“Grandfather. What did he say?” He patted her on the head.

“I have no clue. I don’t speak Saiyan.”

Vegeta heard the conversion they were having and turned to the Z- warriors and Bulma behind him with a confused look.

“I was speaking Saiyanjin?” Everyone looked at him confused. Goten looked from Trunks back to Vegeta.

“You couldn’t tell?” Vegeta turned his back on all them again.

“I am very mult-lingual. Over two hundred languages. All fluent. Everyone of them translates back to Saiyanjin to me. Sometimes I change languages without realizing it for a while.” Vegeta said in a matter-oh-fact way.

“But, what do you mean by grave robbing?” Vegeta clenched his hands without releasing the ki blasts. The blast blow up in his hands. It burned the gloves and some of the skin but, Vegeta didn’t even blink. He didn’t care about pain.

“Careful Vegeta!” Goku said in alarm.

“Shut up.” Vegeta said not even thinking about it. Cracking his fingers he asked Goten’s question. “The talisman belonged to my Mother . . . statue. The only thing that didn’t turn to stone when she self- destructed. I took it when Frieza took me. Why he has it. I do not know.”

“Then wouldn’t you be the grave robber?” Vegeta didn’t answer right away as he took off his burned gloves.

“Here maybe. My planet. No. After all. She was my mother . . . genetically. But, I was closer to that rock likeness than my own, flesh and blood, so called father.” Vegeta threw down the damaged black leather hard, making a dent in the ground. Vegeta closed his eyes forming his old Saiyan uniform. Piccolo gasped seeing his technique being used, by a Saiyan no less.

“How you . . ?”

“I downloaded more than the language from you. Not really meaning to but, still.

“Anything else I should know!” Vegeta flipped the clasps on the shoulders of the armor making the cape fall to the ground.

“Language: have, phantom link: removed, and transmuting of clothes: used. I think it is all.” Vegeta all but, ripped the prince’s crown on his forehand. The tips of his fingers felt weird to have them covered again. Not that it really mattered.

Grandfather tossed the talisman back to Vegeta. Vegeta caught it in one hand. He was looking it over like it was altered to harm him in some way. Seeing nothing wrong with it Vegeta looked back at Grandfather was hard eyes.

“You give it to me a long while ago. Frieza would have destroyed it. It was something to remember you by. As if I could forget you my little dark spirt.” Vegeta narrowed his eyes further.

“First off. Do not call me that, Cilhuio. And second you believe that I should just take your word for that. After you get into my mind once and tried for the second time but failed. And you expect me to trust you. Not to mention you coming a little more than two earth weeks after this happened to me.” His hand displayed himself meaning his size and age. “All that just happens to be a not you fault, right?” Vegeta said sarcastical as he possible could.

Vegeta and others watched as Grandfather smiled showing his two large fangs inside his lips. But, the smile was natural and wasn’t forced. It was the way he smiled and the fangs were just there. It wasn’t a threat on his part at all.

“I admit. It is my fault you are young again.” Everyone behind Vegeta stopped breathing. That might have expected it but, never would have thought he would admit it like that.

Vegeta was also surprised he came right out and said it. He thought he had to beat it out of him. That caught him off guard.

“Well . . .um . . .” He cleared his throat and regained his composer. “Glad you admitted it. How would you like it die? I have I few ways picked out. Would you like to hear them? I’ll start with my favorites first.” The girl with the wings flew in front of the old man with her wings spread like a shield.

Grandfather put his hand up on her shoulder and lead her behind him shaking his head at her. He was not intimidated by Vegeta’s threats of death. Something was sending warning bells through Vegeta’s head. He didn’t like how this way playing out. He didn’t like it at all. This wasn’t right.

He was also hesitating too. Like with Gohan that day at the amusement park. Normally he killed within milseconds but, here and there he stopped like he was waiting for something. Vegeta was confused on many things but, that was the most. He planned on killing him the second he showed his face but, now here he was. And Vegeta couldn’t get his thoughts to agree on attacking him. Something didn’t feel right. Like something was scratching him on the inside.

Vegeta shook his head hard at the sensation inside his mind. Growling in annoyance he tossed the talisman over his head.

“Goten! Catch!” Just like in training, Goten obeyed without thought. He caught it in mid air.

“Got it!” Vegeta showed no outer expression Good boy, Goten.

“Good. Go back to capsule corporation.”

“Huh? Why?” Vegeta gritted his teeth in annoyance.

“Do as I say child! And take Trunks with you.” Goten looked down hurt on many levels.

“Okay.” Goten took to the air followed by Trunks.

Vegeta calmed himself the best to could as he focused on the link he had with the boys. (This is not a punishment. We may need you two later.) Goten heard Vegeta’s voice inside his head. He felt better now, still disappointed though.

“Don’t worry. My dad knows what he is doing.” I hope.

“I’m not so sure. Something about that guy gives me the creeps.”

“Yeah. Me too.” Trunks looked back at his chibified father. He forced himself to look where he was flying.

Vegeta felt the boys go without hesitation. He was expecting them to argue for some reason or another but, they didn’t. Banishing all those thoughts away Vegeta turned back top the unwanted guests.

“Well since you brought it up. Why did you do this to me?”

“I’m afraid it was purely accidental.” Vegeta gave a look that spoke yeah right without Vegeta having to open his mouth.

“Riggggggght. You really think I going to believe that? Do I have Bhuola written on my forehand or something?”

“Why is that so hard to believe?”

“Let me count the ways. But, I would be here all night. Why do you not just get back into your ship and go back to wherever the in seventh layer of Hell you came from. Save yourself a lot of pain as I slowly killing you.”

“But, Vegeta . .” Vegeta’s eyes slit as he lost all civility.

“That is it. I have decided! I am going to break every bone in your body until the pain overloads your core and kills you!” Vegeta voice started to grow impossible low. Almost like an animal trying to speak human words. The animal inside had all it was take from this man. “I was so trying to be nice!” The last words were hardly understood by anyone as the growling roar was mixed with it.

Everyone one behind Vegeta and Grandfather stepped back. Grandfather looked like he was expecting this. Vegeta’s pupils slit complete. But, do to the color of his eyes and the dark night. It was hard to notice.

“This must be Vegeta animal side he and you were talking about, huh?” Tien said not believing all this. Goku looked back at him with wide like eyes.

“You haven’t seen anything yet. It gets worse.” All attention was back to Vegeta as he walked heavily at first a few steps before Vegeta went a full charge. Closing the distance in seconds Vegeta jumped fingers like claws. He was completely intent on ripping off Grandfather’s face and probably eating it afterwards.

Vegeta landed on the ground in front of the ship’s stairs. He mind was . . . clear. No animal screaming in his head. No civil like side screaming as loud to be heard over the other. For once it was he own voice, his mind. It was all his own. Vegeta stood up holding his head up looking back at Grandfather not believing what had happened there. Vegeta’s knees gave out as alien sensation confused his body as the absence of pain.

Before his attack meet, Grandfather pushed a red stone into his chest and moved just barely missing the attack. When the stone connected with his chest. It was like both parts of his mind became one. No more mental pain every second of every day.

“What do you . .” Vegeta barely breathed out as shock completely took away his voice. Vegeta wasn’t sure what to feel now. He was between shock, outrage, happiness and complete, total relief. Feelings he didn’t want or need to have in his belief.

The sudden shock and how quick it went from his mind was what got him the most. “What the hell did you do to me!” Vegeta yelled at him finding his voice again. Grandfather as unfazed by the whole ordeal and held up the stone. It was glowing black now instead of red.

“This stone.” Grandfather showed it to him with his hand out flat so Vegeta could see it better. “Takes the animal instincts out of all living creatures. The first time with you was an accident really. Your animal side didn’t like me looking inside your mind and you attacked.” Grandfather smiled strangely as he was reliving the memory inside his mind. “Now, I may be old but, I can still move fast when needed. You followed me into a specialized room. One of my other children has a similar problem and did like anyone else. I kept him civil by keeping this stone in his room. You got to close to the stone and it absorbed the animal in you. It’s only for a small amount of time after your away from it but, what can you do.” Vegeta stood from the crouch he landed in the second time down. He wanted to run. Run now, run fast, run far. This shouldn’t have happened. Without the animal side Vegeta was almost lost. To have it ripped away like that was confusing in the body and clearer mind. Even without the pain of animal and civil side clashing, Vegeta felt like he needed it. Nine years with it and now gone. It was all too much.

The second Vegeta fell to the ground Goku using his instant transmission and retrieved him. The whole group including Yamcha, felt outrage.

“What did you do to him!” Goku yelled at the old man holding Vegeta like he would his own son. Strangely, he thought nothing about it.

“I already explained it my good man. He is fine. His mind needs a minute to adjust. It’s probably was never completely quiet his whole life that he remembers.” Vegeta groaned as he was coming back to reality again. He opened his eyes and closed them again throwing his head back.

“Kakorot . . . I going to give your three seconds . . . to put me back on the ground . . . or I will rip out the first . . . internal organ . . . I feel as . . . my hand enters your body.” Although Goku felt Vegeta at the moment, wouldn’t be able to carry out the threat, he put Vegeta on his feet again.

It was another few moments before Vegeta’s mind made up for the lost and corrected to almost normal function. He was finally able to catch his own breath.

“There see.” Grandfather said suddenly. “Good as new.” Before Grandfather could say a word miss wings pulled down on his shirt again.

“Grandfather it’s time to eat. We’re hungry!” He turned her back to Vegeta and the group next to him.

“When their right. Their right. All of you are welcome to join. I have plenty for everyone.” For the second time the group for stunned to the ground.

“Will you excuse us for a minute?”

“Most certainly.” Goku put two fingers to his forehand and everyone held on to everyone else expect Vegeta. Goku grabbed on to Vegeta before he could attack for touching him.

X)(X

Trunks watched as everyone appeared before him and Goten. Goku was flat on the floor with a ticked off Vegeta looking down at him.

“What did I tell you! Do not touch me! Ever!” Goku growled and picked himself off the floor.

“I have to touch the people I am moving them. So I am so sorry, Vegeta!”

“I do not understand you Kakorot. You can use Sarcasm but, you can not recognize it when others use it. What is the deal?” Goku lost all anger.

“Well at the time I guess I didn’t think about it. Plus older you don’t talk so much. Most the time you just say you’re going to kill me.”

“Wonder why?” Vegeta said with a roll of his eyes. “Whatever. Does not matter. What are we back here?”

“Don’t you think it is a little weird he is inviting us to diner? Now to mention didn’t attack you when you mind for reeling for having your animal side or whatever you call it taken away?” Vegeta turned his back to Goku looking down. “Vegeta?”

“I never would have thought I would have missed it. First Ouhfdvkltar and now my animal side. Things and people always leaving me. Alone inside and out. Out not so bad but, inside is much, much worst. Why can’t people leave me alone another than brutal combat?”

Vegeta walked over to the couch sat down heavy on it. “Why is it always my mind people mess with? It is not like it was in the best condition when I started out.”

“You mean others besides Frieza and Grandfather had done something like this before?”

“Yes. Fourteen times I remember. Three I do not remember because it actually worked and I found it out through paper trails. That is the problem with me doing the paperwork.” Bulma pounced at the statement instantly.

“Your own father?”

Vegeta didn’t even bother looking at her. The memories were slightly painful and such. Annoying to say the least.

“That is a surprise why? He only tried to kill me the day I was so called born from the tank in the back of the lab. Why would he not try to erase that memory? Or what he did twice after that years later?”

“But you remember.”

“Now I do. Or should I say years ago I did. Some things can trigger even so called lost memories.” Vegeta was rubbing his head like he was in pain.

“Are you going to okay?”

“I adjust. I always do. I am a saiyan after all.” He chuckled a little before pushing his head up. “At least I think. Maybe. I think she made me full Saiyan. I am not sure now. Maybe Talmaish isn’t even my mother. She could have used her own DNA for all I know.” Vegeta was laughing just like the night at the lake. Insanely.

The boys looked over and turned to each other doing rock, paper, scissors again. Trunks lost this time by throwing rock against Goten’s paper. Trucks felt that this was not going to turn out well but, it needed to be done.

Vegeta stopped as he felt the heat of a fist starting to connect with his face. Before the force came behind it Vegeta grabbed it and twisted it. Trunks’ body slammed down on the coffee table in front of the couch. Vegeta let go immediately.

“Thanks kid. I needed that. A little jolt to the system does a Saiyan good.”

“Sure. No problem.” A weak, pained voice barely said. Vegeta stretched his arms over his head like he was warming up for a fight.

“Better now. Adjusted although quiet. But, dealing with it.” The grown-ups stood there stunned and bewildered a bit. “What now?”

“Are you really okay?”

“Define Okay. I am breathing and my mind is functioning somewhat normally. What more do you want?”

“No offence but, you almost went over the deep end.” That was not even close to the deep end. I have been to the deep end before. Barely came back.

“Coming from a man that thought he was losing his mind going through a ‘very mild’ primal. That hardly means anything.” Goku rubbed the back of his head embarrassed. “Besides having something ripped away from you. Something you had from the day you were born and then suddenly gone. Let us see how sane any of you would be.”

Trunks got his breath back and pushed off the table with a mild headache and sore arm. He sat back in the couch. He looked over that Goten.

“Your turn next time.”

“Deal.”

“You better say that.”

“I could kick your butt Trunks.”

“I won the tournament remember.”

“You used your right arm after you said you wouldn’t.” Vegeta would have growled but, it wouldn’t sound right.

“Shut up cubs!” Both closed their mouths at the sound of there teacher’s voice. “Upstairs now.”

“But!”

“NOW!” Only the sound of a slamming door a moment was heard. Without the animal side Vegeta still had a tempter than could scare anyone.

Vegeta ran his fingers through his hand like it was a calming effect to him or just a habit scratching one’s head when tried.

“Cubs. I can not stand when they start their pointless arguing. It solves nothing.” Taking a hostile breath and he made himself calm down. “Now. What about Grandfather? We need to stop him and get my animal side back.” Goku looked at him confused. His mind going back to the day on the island. When Vegeta asked him just to end it because both sides were yelling at him.

“You want you animal side back? Why?”

“If I cut off your arm. Would you not want yours back?”

“It’s a little different.”

“Not to me. It is who I am. It is nice to be free of mental pain but, I rather it happened naturally or not at all.” Goku could partly understand. Piccolo stepped in.

“So. Are we accepting his offer to dinner or not?”

“It might be a trap but, let’s go. Maybe he didn’t mean any harm. It all could be an accident.” Vegeta snorted giving him a ‘you got to be kidding me’ look.

“Right. And my uncle was a Namekic!”

“Hey.” Piccolo yelled like he was insult.

“Take it as I complement Piccolo. Part of the royal family kind of thing.” Piccolo narrowed his eyes still annoyed for one reason or another. As least Vegeta as starting to act normal now.

X)(X

Everyone returned to the landing site seeing only the girl with the wings waiting for them. She just smiled.

“About time. Come on. Dinner is ready. I am hungry.” She flapped her wings going to the stairs. Vegeta followed her a little ahead on the others.

Inside Vegeta looked at the walls. The feeling of doing something before came to him again. It was like he really had seen these walls before. But, he didn’t have any memory of it. Just the feeling of it. A feeling he couldn’t shake off for the life of him.

“Boy this place sure does look bigger on the inside than the outside.” Vegeta bit back seventeen sarcastic comments and five ideas of pain violence to do to him. Although he hands were twitching to do so, more important things at hand at the moment. Pleasure and fun would have to wait. Just like always, fun was last on the to do list.

Vegeta looked at the coming corner and stopped. The others didn’t noticed until eighteen pulled on Krillen’s collar, slightly choking him.

“Honey. What?” Everyone turned back seeing what made Eighteen do that. Vegeta was looking at the wall like he would see through the mental. Bulma pushed by the others back to Vegeta.

“What wrong?”

“Something about this wall. I not sure what. Something about green . . .gas?”

“That’s right.” The girl with the wings floated down from above them. Landing as soft as a feather. She was pure poetry in motion. “This is Jioke’s room. He can’t breath air or other normal gasses. He has to breath a toxic gas which the name escapes me at the moment. The room is protected so the gas doesn’t get out.”

“It did once.” Vegeta barely said not believe it himself.

“Yes. It did. You are starting to remember?”

“I do not know. My head been messes with so much I am not sure if what I have are all memories or made up fabrication of someone else.” She laughed a little amused.

“Just like the first time.” Everyone was as confused as Vegeta. She seemed to sense everyone’s confusion. “The first time the stone took the beast whatever it is out of you. You were on this depression rail for hours. Nearly talking nonsense the whole time. Grandfather tried to find a way to reverse the thing. But, you pull yourself back together before breakfast the next day. You were still cranky for a long while though. It took a bit to calm down. Saiyan’s are a stubborn breed but, highly noble and strong. Too bad you’re the only one last.”

“But, . . ” Goku was about to say but, Vegeta cut him off.

“Yes! I know. . . . G-Goku. I am a handful a times but, that is no reason to hate my race.” His eyes held a strange emotion that made Goku go quiet. He turned back to the little girl. “Shall we go?” She smiled and walked back to the front.

Bulma took a look at the wall and door. It sounded like it was rumbling and pipes rattling. The wall started to bulge and grinded in protest of moving from it’s position.

“Come on lady.” Bulma looked at the girl. “You falling behind. Come on. I’m getting hungry. We can’t eat until everyone is at the table.”

“How did you know we were even coming?”

“I didn’t. Grandfather did. Come on!” Bulma hesitantly walk away from the wall and around the corner. “Not much further now.” The sound of the protesting wall got louder. Too loud to be normal. As least Bulma believed so.

“So that noise normal.”

“What noise?” The girl asked.

The grinding pipes got louder. She looked at the wall strangely and back at her guests. Shrugging her shoulders and wings at it.

“Don’t tell me you didn’t hear that!”

“No I heard it. But, I don’t know what that is.” The wall warped in the middle of the mental. Making the sound of a growling animal or Saiyan even. “Weird. Oh well. Come on.” The sound didn’t stop but, got softer when they got further away.

The dinning room was huge. With a long table in the middle of the room. Each child seemed to have their place. Everyone one turned their heads to them.

“Ah! Finally are guests have arrived.” He waved his hand to the few empty seats by his sides, the one at middle of the table, and down at the end of the table. “Please sit down. The green man and three eyes down at the end please. The red cheek boy and the bald boy in the middle.”

“We are not children! We are grown men!” Both yelled embarrassed by being called children. Grandfather looked really surprised.

“Ready. I see. Well, sit there anyway. We already cleared a spot.” Both annoyed but did so, trying to be civil sat down. The children were snickering.

“The scarred man and blue haired woman to the left. The two older dark haired and eyed men to the right. The blue eyed woman to the left and the dark haired one the right. And last but, certainly not least. Young Vegeta has the honor of sitting right here next to me. I do not think so. No way I am sitting next to him! Vegeta went past the seat and appeared behind Yamcha. Before Yamcha could fight Vegeta off he was lifted out of the seat and dropped next to Grandfather. Vegeta dusted off his hands.

“He can have the honor. I will sit right here.” Vegeta took a seat between Bulma and a unknown child. Grandfather shook his head. Strangely, he was amused.

“Doodiuo. Change seats with Vuuoli.” The slime looking boy next to Vegeta stood or what looked like standing and the girl with the wings sat down in that seat. She smiled at Vegeta and he turned his head away from her. “Well then. Who’s turn is it to serve?”

“I did it last time.” A girl with seaweed looking hair and no eyes said for the middle of the table.\

“No I did the last time.” Another girl two down from her. That girl had three feet long finger nails. They looked hard as stone.

“Did not.”

“Did too.”

“Did not.”

“Did too.”

“Did not.”

“Children! Both of you can get it. And sharahhed. It is your turn actually.” The no eyed girl lowered her head.

“Yes grandfather!” Both said in perfect timing.

X)(X

The two brought out these small machines and placed them in front of everyone. The Z-warriors and wives were slightly confused. Vegeta looked at their faces reading them.

“There replicators. Think about what you want and it will make it.”

“Cool. It’s like star trek.”

“Trek! How dare call my mother a Trek?” One boy at the bottom of the table stand fully enrage. Goku looked at him confused.

“Trek in his language is like called a female on this planet a scum of the earth, dirty, cheap whore.”

“But, I didn’t mean that. It’s the show’s name!” Vegeta shrugged.

“Do not tell me. Tell him.” Goku looked at the boy with the most apologetic face.

“I’m sorry. I didn’t know. It means travel here.”

“Actually. It means a long difficult journey. But, close enough.” Vegeta added because he could. The boy didn’t seem to calm down.

“Tuok.” Grandfather said suddenly. “He didn’t mean it. No offence was meant. Accept his apology.”

“Fine.” He sat back down but, didn’t look like he felt any better.

Everyone eat their full but, Piccolo and Vegeta. Piccolo had his full of water but, Vegeta refused to eat with a possible enemy. It was a Saiyan thing. The table was cleared by the two same children as before. Chi-Chi was thinking on were she could get one of those while others were wondering what was to happened next. They eat pleasantly and normal conversion. He didn’t seem like a bad guy. Only Vegeta wasn’t convinced about that. But, Vegeta didn’t trust anyone barely. The few exceptions were the boys because he could beat them up into bloody pulps. And he either seemed to like or trust Bulma. Why though. Only Vegeta knew. Not that he would tell anyone why.

The silence got annoying and it was too annoyed for one in particular. Vegeta for twitching trying to stay calm but, it was impossible. Slamming both fists on the table he stood from his chair. Fists implanted in the mental.

“I have had it! I want to know right now! Why did you change me into this form and how?”

“Same old..” Vegeta cut him off.

“The next words out of your mouth better be a explanation or I will rip open your skull, extract your memories on a disk and find out myself. I have done it before to others.” Grandfather looked at Vegeta neutral.

“Very well. I can feel people’s life force like some of these human feel what you call Ki. Yours is highly unique. I could felt it on this planet when I entered the solar system.”

“Get to the point!”

“ . . . I could felt you ki suddenly dropping . . . dying. I couldn’t let that happen. You needed energy and I sent it to you. But, the changes in the energy caused yours to change. It saved you but, at the same time changed you.”

“That is far-fetched. A where do you create all that energy from?” Vegeta asked trying to catch Grandfather in a blaton lie he could prove was a lie.

“Your ki blast as you call them. Contains energy including life energy. The resident of the ki was left on the infirmary wall when you went all enraged the first time we met. Throwing blasts like that never happened before in my travels. I was curious. I stored it in the computers memory bank. When the sudden drop happened I made the substitute energy by using the ships engines. It blew out most systems except minimal life support. It take until two days ago to get all systems online.” Vegeta narrowed his eyes.

“Really. What kind of engine may I ask?”

“A 432-KiPl modem.” That old model does have the capably of doing that. The electromagnetic charge can be a substitute for a Saiyan’s ki.

“That is pretty old.”

“Never needed a newer one.” Vegeta couldn’t find a fault in his story. Nothing he could completely disprove.

Vegeta stood and walked out of the dining room. Bulma called after him but, he showed no response to her words. She leaped up and went after him. Grandfather laughed hardily.

“Just like old times. He’ll be back. He needs to calm himself think over every detail. He is going to try and disapprove me. The boy has no trust. I guess I can’t blame him. Things with the man thing called Frieza and his own father.”

“How did you know anything about that? We had to go through channels to know anything like that.”

“I’m a mind reader.”

“Like Vegeta is?” Grandfather laughed like Goku made a joke.

“Vegeta a read reader? Hardly.”

“But he red Hurcule’s and knew what Piccolo was thinking and . .”

“I see. Let me explain. Vegeta can create links and to get unguarded information like language or smaller, personal facts. A mind reader can get into all memories and thoughts. That is the reason Vegeta was so angry went we first met. All the blocks and wall give my trouble. It took a half a hour to get anywhere.”

“That why Vegeta kept on saying he wasn’t a mind reader.”

“You thought he was lying?”

“He was reading my mind.”

“In a sense yes.”

Vegeta walked down the halls. What Kakorot said before was right. This place did look bigger on the inside. He got back to the room that had the child that breathed in toxic gas.

“Vegeta.”

“What?”

“ You upset?”

“No. Where did you get that idea.” There was no tone but, it was meant to be highly sarcastic.

“Vegeta.”

“He is lying. I know it. I can feel. But, I can not prove it. He has the answers to all the questions. Which ends up looking like I am wrong.”

“He had two weeks to figure it all out.” Bulma said taking to seem like she was taking his side when she wasn’t sure he was right.

“Do not pull that mother act with me. It is annoying. You believe him too.”

“Vegeta that is not true.” She looked away almost embarrassed. “I’m not sure if he did it on propose like you believe he did but.” Vegeta stepped a bit more away. That made Bulma stop talking.

“He has to have missed something. He is a mind reader. Maybe he know what I would have asked and checked in advance.” Vegeta was more or less talking to himself. “I got to be missing something. Something small. Really, really small.” Vegeta’s voice got lighter with each word said.

“Maybe your thinking to hard. Making things made complicated than they need to be.”

“I do not know.”The same wall made the loud creaking noise. Vegeta turned all his attention to the wall. Something was wrong here. The feeling of wanted to leave the area got stronger. “That is three decibels louder than before.”

“Is that a lot?”

“For things like this. That could be bad. Especially if it’s gas building. I do not know.” The floor under they started to move and shake. A little a first then suddenly violently knocking Bulma hard against the wall. Vegeta feeling the feelings of protectiveness was by her side checking her head as the floor quaked harder nearly knocking him down.

Bulma opened her eyes to see a pipe burst out the floor as the shaking stopped. Vegeta watched it was narrowing eyes as images flooding his brain. That was the pipe that was connected to the room where the boy could only breath in the toxic gas. That was the toxic gas pipe.

“Son of Nam . .” The pipe bursted. It busted wide open flooding the hallway in a tidalwave of poisonous and lung melting death.

X)(X

In the dining area everyone felt the shaking and the plates crashed and broken on the floor. Goku stood ready for anything.

“Whoa! What is it! An earthquake!” Chi-Chi screamed from under the table. The children were scared and huddled to her. He didn’t mind nor care. She was scared too.

Grandfather stood easily despite the shaking and walked to the computer. Tapping on the keyboard a green outline of the ship showed up. A red dot showed up at the special boy’s room.

“You have a gas leak in process! Computer seal off the hallway doors.” The computer beeped and the doors come down sealing air tight to the floor. “Computer emergency vents!” A round of beeps and clicks and the sound of air blowing came.

Grandfather stood in front of the table as the shakes stopped. He sat back down like he was tried. But, he sure didn’t look it.

“Children. It is okay.” One poked his head out of under the table and then another. Before long all were out but, Chi-Chi. “Madam?”

“I’m . . . stuck.” Everyone almost laughed when a fact hit them all at once.

“BULMA AND VEGETA!” Grandfather stood and was at the computer panel again looking at the green outline map again.

“Two life forms in the sealed hall. One is Vegeta. The other is unknown. It must be your female friend.” There was worry inside his voice.

“Open the door and get them out of there!” Goku yelled baring his teeth.

“I can’t. The doors won’t open until the vents go off. And even if I did the gas would kill all of us before we could get to them. I sorry. But, there is nothing we can do.”

“You can open this door. I can lock on Vegeta’s ki and get them out of there within seconds!”

“Then the gas would rush in here, killing us and you wouldn’t survive even that long. The tiniest breath taken in of that gas will kill you instantly. You lungs will melt.” Goku and the others started to panic. They couldn’t feel Vegeta’s ki anymore and they couldn’t feel Bulma’s the whole time.

“How long until the gas in cleared?” Goku was calmer in his depression. Grandfather didn’t look away from the computer screen. Although he wasn’t looking at it anymore.

“Twenty minutes.” Grandfather’s tone was the same as Goku’s. Vuuoli rapped her wings around herself and stared to cry silently. Goku sat down trying not to cry. He was helpless. Instant transmission wasn’t going to help him and it seemed that he was too late if he could use it. There life forces were already gone.

X)(X

The computer beeped and the doors opened. No one got up right away. They all wished this was a bad dream. They couldn’t believe that there two comrades were now gone in the span of twenty minutes. Everyone including Grandfather and Vuuoli walked with the group to collect the bodies. Going down the hall like mindless drones that get to the room with the bulging walls. Both Vegeta and Bulma were no where to be seen.

“That’s weird.” Grandfather said. He looked up at the ceiling. “Computer. Report the position of Vegeta and the unknown.” The computer beeped a few times and replied.

“Both are in hallway B3.”

“We are in B3 computer. Check again.” The computer beeped a few times again.

“Both are in hallway B3.” Grandfather looked down and at them shrugged hard.

“Bulma! Vegeta!”

“Goku. There gone. That gas kills. I mean look at the walls. The paint and metal is melting.” Krillen said sorrowfully.

Everyone head was down and only breathing could be heard. A strangely metallic sound came from behind them. Turning to see that it was one of the ceiling tiles. Looking up they saw Vegeta helping Bulma out of the ceiling. Mouths hanging open as Vegeta grabbed her wrist and slowly floated her to the ground. Vegeta looked at them and put his hands on his hips.

“What is your problem?”

“Your alive.” Krillen stated the oblivious.

“Oh. Let me call the papers. Idiots.” Vegeta looked at grandfather. “This is why you need to winterize your pipes.”

“Vegeta!” Vegeta was forced to step back as wings and body connected with him. “You okay. I thought . . . I thought . . . I thought the gas got you. How you get away?” Vegeta pushed her off his surprisingly gentle.

“Simple. The tremors started and I saw the pipe come out the floor. Only a second of usable vision I see the tiles. I grabbed her.” Vegeta motioned with his head to Bulma. “And covered her mouth and nose. She pasted out for the moment and I was able to get the tile off. Using a ki shield I was able to push the gas away from both sides as some get in the ceiling area. As the gas cleared and heard you we decided to was safe to come out. I seen what Ciiliouil Gas can do. It is outlawed in three galaxies that I know of. Probably even more now.”

“Wow. That was smart. I don’t know what I would do. Probably freak.”

“Well, I did not want to stay here and die.” Vegeta was starting to get annoyed with her. He had the feeling she had a crush on him or something. He really wasn’t interested in that or her. Not that she was bad looking. She was a cute little girl but, Vegeta just wasn’t into it.

“I don’t blame you.”

“Whatever. I think is it about time we got out of here. And you.” Vegeta pointed to Grandfather. “Tell me how to fix this age problem and be on your way.”

“I can’t. I am responsible but, I don’t know why it happened.” Vegeta looked at his eyes. Vegeta didn’t trust them. Especially the yellow snake slit one. Looking at it made him felt strange.

Trunks and Goten land flew to Trunks’ bedroom window. Opening the window the flew inside and closed it. Trunks was fuming a bit.

“This sucks! We always get send home when things are getting good!” Goten nodded looking down that the talisman in his hand. It was simple a circle with this netting inside with a charm of a animal looking thing. A planet Vegeta’s native animal or something. The charm itself wasn’t heavy but, the neckless sure was for was it was.

Trunks plopped on the bed and looked at the ceiling before turning to Goten. He was still looking at the neckless.

“What?”

“I don’t know.” Trunks for a reason that he wasn’t sure about getting angry. Standing Trunks fazed to him and snatched the neckless away. “Hey, give that back!” Trunks throw the talisman against the wall.

“All of this! Just gets deeper and deeper. Nothing will ever be the same. Liolllio!” Trunks let out a Saiyanjin curse. Trunks sat down on the ground hard wanting to scream.

“Nappa. Hcf uhio oiehoju!” Both turned to the sound of Vegeta’s voice.

“Jhiewf, ipoj, poiwe jbew.” Both boys looked stupidly at the talisman on the floor.

“Yi lknerwf nopji!” Goten picked up the talisman. The voices were no longer muffled.

“Jhewf!”

“Yi’d ciojd hjibew uha! Ohpi, kjihef, jierfe!” The sound of hitting and yells of pain were the only things sounding.

Goten and Trunks looked at each other and both looked back at the talisman. That’s why it was heavy. It had some kind of recording device.

“I only caught half of that. You?” Trunks asked.

“I understood. Vegeta told Nappa to turn something off. Nappa didn’t. Vegeta counted to three and beat the crap out of him.” The recording continued.

“Jihdrg oiew ehimeema, Nappa.” Both knew what that meant. One day I will kill you, Nappa. Vegeta’s voice was not angry. Which meant he was serious. The recording stopped at started again with a new one. Not knowing how they even turned it on they decided to listen to it until it played out.

Vegeta turned his head trying to avoid Grandfather’s yellow eye. It was like it was calling to him, wanting him to look at it but, Vegeta resisted. Again something he couldn’t prove to himself or others. Not that we overly cared what the others thought.

“One thing I am confused on.” Grandfather turned to Bulma. He smile told her to go on. “We called the dragon to fix this but, he couldn’t. Because this was a mix between science and sorcery. I got the science part. But, what is the sorcery?” Grandfather’s smile melted off his face and was replaced with a sneer.

“Loiolloie!” Vegeta didn’t understand that language but, that sounded like a order to attack. The winged one rose to the air and flapped her wings hard. The humans were blow back into the wall hard. Except Bulma who was caught by Vegeta as he grabbed the edge of the whole in the floor. “Tailalk!” The boy with the tentacles hit Goku in the chest and head with his impossible stretching arms. A strange blue shock knocked Goku off his feet and he crashed into the other.

When she stopped her wind attack only Vegeta and Bulma where standing before then. During the wind attack it was hard to breath. The others passed out including Bulma. Vegeta had to catch his breath and Vegeta let go of Bulma’s hand and it fell to the ground with a small thud.

The winged one landed slowly on the ground looking at him with tears in her eyes. He seemed to hate what she had to do.

“I’m sorry Vegeta. But, this is for your own good. I won’t let you leave me again!”

“What . . . are talking about? I do not even know you! I go where I please.” Grandfather opened his yellow eye wide. Vegeta covered his eyes. “I do not think so! You snake charmer!” Grandfather laughed.

“Close. It’s called charm eye. Your animal side could resist it so I had to take it out of you. I didn’t want this to happen like this. I wanted you to come to me on your own. You too stubborn. I guess I have to implant more than one memories in you.” Vegeta gasped involuntary and opened his eyes in shock. “Yes. We did meant in the accident with the pod. But, Freiza was coming to get you. The radio was blaring hard. You had something he wanted badly. But, I wanted you. Your body will never grow old and, I can absorbed your life force and kept myself alive and young without changing bodies for me and a few others.” A image of leader of Freiza special fighting force popped into his head. He could change bodies. Or so he said. Vegeta believed him.

Vegeta had enough and made the broken materials of the ship levitating and threw them in them. Grandfather waved his hand and all the pieces fell to the ground. Vegeta couldn’t believe to was that easy. He recovered quickly.

“I don’t understand. You have the kids here. Why need me?”

“You are a unending source of youth. I use the others. All but, these two. Once they grow old I change there bodies with copy clones. I won’t need the others. Just you three. I won’t need a copy clone of you.”

“Never! I won’t be enslaved by you!”

“It’s not enslavement when you want it.” Tentacles wrapped around Vegeta legs and rapped up him when was distracted. “There now.” Grandfather walked towards him. Vegeta was trying his hardest to break free but the tentacles crushed his frame. “Not to hard. Don’t hurt him. Keep him still.” Grandfather tilted Vegeta’s head back. Vegeta closed his eyes hard, squirming with all his might. Grandfather forced his eyes open. Grandfather’s yellow eye shined and Vegeta’s eyes glossed over. Vegeta movements stopped in seconds. “Good boy.” Grandfather nodded and the tentacles released him. Grandfather stared at the him and Vegeta looked up at him.

“Yes Grandfather.”

X)(X

Nearly a collective groan filled the room. Goku sat up pushing Krillen up off of him. His chest hurt every time he breathed in. It was like something hit him or fell on him. He couldn’t make up his mind which. He also couldn’t remember much of what happened after the Gas cleared and Both Vegeta and Bulma came out of the ceiling. He barely remembered Vegeta telling them the story of how they got up there in part but, after that. It was a complete total blank.

“You okay man?” Krillen asked eyes still closed.

“Been better. What happened?”

“I was going to ask you when my head cleared up.”

Goku looked around was his eyes cleared. They were in the living area of Capsule Corporation. His eyes landed of Grandfather.

“What are you doing here?”

“Vegeta wanted to get his personal chest of belongings. I forget what he called it. Hio or hoi-something.”

“Why?”

“He didn’t want to leave without it.”

“Where is he going?”

“Well. With me. Of coarse. What else?”

Grandfather laughed like Goku said something funny. Goku didn’t see the joke. He wasn’t only getting because the of primal that was still in his system.

“He’s not going anywhere with you!”

“Is he a prisoner?” That question caught him off guard.

“No but, . .” Grandfather cut him off almost yelling the beginning of his sentence.

“Then he is allowed to go everywhere he wants. And his wishes are to go with me.”

“After everything he said. You want me to believe that! Vegeta didn’t believe you. He tried to kill you.”

“Like he didn’t believe you at first and tried the same. Even got closer to doing that to all of you than he did with me. If it wasn’t for the illness and the slight playing around on his part. You all would be dead.” Goku blinked a few times. Piccolo entered the conversion.

“What happened on the ship?”

Grandfather didn’t miss a beat. He seemed to expect that question to come up.

“You Namekics, humans, Saiyans.” Grandfather put a tab of empasis on the word Saiyans. “And half Saiyans alike and plus whatever the rest are collapsed in the hallway. The other gas we have to neutralized the poison gas caused havoc on your systems. Vegeta himself almost succumbed to it as well but, I was able to call the other children and got you all out of there. Vegeta and I had a talk and now he understands and is starting to remember his past. At least bits of it.” Goku’s upper lip snarled in a alien fashion.

“Everything about you I bet.” Grandfather snorted slightly as if annoyed by the accusation in Goku’s voice.

“Some yes. But, he remembered one scene. How did it go? . . . . ah! Yes. I remember. Slowly . . .” Grandfather’s voice dropped low like he was trying to imitate Vegeta’s older, deeper voice. It failed miserably but, he was getting the point across. “Over the years. I became one of you. My dreams of greatness were replaced by this life of mediocrity. I found that I had settled down and formed a family. I even grew rather fond of them. Don’t you see? I needed Bobidibi. To set me free. By releasing the evil in my heart.” Goku was widened eyes as the other were confused. “He doesn’t even know a man named that. But, do you?” Grandfather smiled. He knew the answer and didn’t need one.

Strange heavy footsteps of Vegeta’s came down the stairs. He had his chest just over his shoulder. Bulma remembered that thing was so heavy she couldn’t budge it an inch and here Vegeta was carrying it like an empty sack.

“Vegeta are you really going with him?” Goku asked before Vegeta reached the bottom of the stairs.

“Yup.” The anser was short and to the point. But, he didn’t sound like himself.

“Why?” Goku asked almost nosey like.

“Because.” The smile was creepy but, not because he was smiling.

“Because?” Goku asked again.

“Because!” Vegeta repeated the same answer like it was same kind of game.

“Because!” Goku almost yelled like it would make Vegeta answer.

“Because?” Piccolo joined in hoping asking the same question would irrate him enough to answer it.

“Because of the wonderful things he does!” Vegeta stopped for a moment. It sounded like a song cue to him.

He shook it off and continued.

“Because I want to. Because I can. Because he can help me remember my past. Because I trust him. Because I don’t need you permission. I have many reasons. Take your pick.” What he said was normal but, the way he said it wasn’t normal.

He was too calm and not a drop of sarcasm was used. And something else was caught be one other.

“Don’t?” Vegeta turned to Yamcha was dull look of his face.

“That is what I said. Where you an earth parrot in your earlier life?”

“But, you said don’t instead of do not and your accent.” Vegeta narrowed his eyes.

“What about it?”

“It’s thinner than it should be. Your getting annoyed with the questions. When annoyed or angry you talk with a thicker accent.”

“Really. You ‘don’t’ say.” Vegeta looked to Goku. “Sarcasm warning.” Goku growled much like Vegeta had in the past. Vegeta was unfazed as he stepped off the last step of the stairs still looking at Yamcha. “Unless you are the accent police. Mind your own business.”

Grandfather smiled, his eyes shined with glee and excitement. As Vegeta got close, Piccolo noticed something. His eyes were not bottomless pits like they always were. They were shallow and reflective. Like back with Goten was talking to his mother after the short fight with Vegeta. Vegeta was telling Goten what to say to Chi-Chi. He knew that now. But, Vegeta had a similar look in his eyes. That wasn’t right. Something was wrong here.

“Ready to go.” Vegeta looked up at him and nodded once. Bulma panicked. She needed a little time to think. You could lose Vegeta like this.

“Wait, Vegeta. You are forgetting something.” Bulma had to think quick. “Your friends in the sanctuary. The tiger and T-rex. Surely. You have to say goodbye to them. Otherwise they will sad. You don’t want that, do you?” Vegeta never turned to her the whole time she was talking.

He was listening though. He cocked his head to the side for a moment and then looked at Grandfather.

“It was be just a minute.” Vegeta dropped his chest and ran off before the chest hit the floor. The huge thud noise was it making a huge dent in the floor. Grandfather barely had time to move his feet out of the way in time.

Trunks and Goten were at the edge of their seats. The current entry was full of information and one piece was the most interesting. It was about Grandfather. According to the entry. It was from Grandfather’s ship. Vegeta was nine went he met Grandfather. A pod malfunction in space.

Vegeta talked about how Frieza’s voice was coming over the radio. Telling him that the orb better not be damaged and that he died before he got there he would kill the of other two.

Vegeta mentioned how it felt to suffocate in the pod. How he thought it was all over and how happy he was to get away from Frieza one way or other. Not that it happened that way at all.

They listened as Vegeta talked about the plan Grandfather had for him and most of the other children. And irony Frieza was his best bet to get out of this mess. Vegeta’s voice was highly annoyed and not close to stoic. He talked about the other children. How different but, strangely how alike in attitude they all were. Like well tuned robots and Grandfather was the programer and he was afraid that he was Grandfather’s next project.

Trunks and Goten were sitting together with no space between them. Both had a ear to the talisman because Vegeta seemed to be either far away or he was whispering so not to be heard.

“Ojergop ipjwerf ijoepoj pjiewropj opjpdec. Pweropkw kmewe kew kepurl jiekeww operwk jikkjek. Jwijwfejiwejio pokqjiowe oij hu ygw jhoje ijoewrpo iojp. Okgr iwe opkwerwe. Then he started again he voice get even smaller than before. “Uhewf iowdf jknew ioioje iu ert. Ijef opeej opiwerok kneefwef. Iouiwrejjkj iowee je rtr sdme. Ijr okjr jkewrkjs kjwre wweok.” He voice got even smaller and weaker. “Iojerwij iojewfj jioewr weeioje lowne.” Both Trunks and Goten gasped dropping the talisman.

Looking at each other in shock. They confirmed it with there eyes that the other heard what Vegeta said on that thing. “We got to warn Vegeta!” Both felt Vegeta’s ki downstairs and ran to the open. Too bad for them it was that the same speed and time. Both their shoulders got stuck in the doorway.

“Come on Goten. We have to warn my father about him!”

“Your stuck too!” Both wiggled to get free but it made them more wedged in than before. “This is embarrassing. Glad no one is here to see it.”

“Never mind that. Wiggle harder!”

“We could break the doorway.”

“And my mother would kill us before we could tell them about Grandfather.” Trunks pushed against the side of the door.

“I can’t breathe Trunks.”

“Oops. Sorry.” Trunks relaxed his arms. Goku pushed against his side of the door

“Now I can’t breathe.”

“Sorry.”

“This is getting us nowhere fast.”

“How does someone go nowhere fast?” Trunks stopped moving, eye twitching.

“Goten?”

“Yeah?”

&l dquo;Went we get free and will this is over. Remind me to get you another brain cell. To keep the one you got accompany!”

X)(X meanwhile.

Vegeta walked down the middle of the forest. None of the animal came to greet him. That made no sense to him.

“Is this a game?” Vegeta said hoping it was. He didn’t like that they didn’t come out to greet them. “Okay. I give up. You can come out.” No one did. “Come on. I have to get going. I want to say goodbye. I may never see you guys again!” His plea went unanswered. Tears formed but, didn’t shed. “Fine. Have it your way.” Vegeta turned away and ran back to the exit. He wasn’t going to force them to say goodbye. Vegeta closed the door and leaned against it. He forced himself stoic. Telling himself it didn’t matter. He was Saiyanjin. Stuff like this didn’t matter.

Standing fully upright Vegeta walked down the hall. He needed to go before his emotional wall crashed. He never should have trained in the mind with Goten. Goten’s emotions got his out of control. Or so he told himself. Walking slowly he heard Goku and Bulma verbally sparing with Grandfather. It wasn’t playful in the least.

“You did something to us and him. Admit it!”

“I admit no such thing, young lady. You did your best to help him. But, have the experience in matters like these. Please try and curve you motherly instances. I can help the boy better than your hugs and kisses even could.”

“How dare you! You Bas . .!”

“Shut up! All of you.” Vegeta yelled out. He got so annoyed at the screaming. “It is a pointless argument. I would say you all are acting like cubs but, I would be insulting the cubs!” Vegeta face when from angry to stoic within a few seconds. “I have made my decision. I am going with Grandfather. And that is final! Try to understand that!” Vegeta moved back to Grandfather and picked up his chest out of the slight hole in the floor, and threw it over his shoulder. “Now if you will excuse us. We have what us space travelers call space tracks to make. Goodbye.”

“Vegeta.”

“I said Goodbye!” Vegeta walked with Grandfather to the exit. Bulma lost it.

“Goku! You can’t let him go! You have to stop him! Bring him back!”

“Stop which one Bulma? You heard Vegeta. He wants to go.”

“He would have been blackmailed or forced to!”

“He would have showed some sign of it Bulma. Without evidence I have to respect Vegeta’s wishes on this. Even if I trust the old man as I could throw this planet. I’m sorry.” Bulma turned at tears started down her face.

X)(X

“On three. One, two, THREE!” Both rolled towards each other and fall to the floor now free of the doorway. Trunks ran downstairs the second he got to his feet. Goten followed but, stopped and when he turned back to Trunks’ room and snatched up the talisman.

Trunks do a Vegeta and jumped over the railing. He saw his mother crying hard and Goku with clenched fists. Trunks looked around and then felt for Vegeta ki’s. He paled as he felt Grandfather’s ki next to him.

“We have to stop Father. He’s in danger from Grandfather!”

“Boys. Vegeta wanted to go with him. There is nothing we can do.” Goten came down the stairs holding the talisman in front of him.

“It wasn’t his decision. Grandfather warped his mind. Like all the other dozens of kids.” Bulma stopped crying and everyone turned to him. He wasn’t there. How could he have known there was that many. They only saw two.

“Goten?” Before he could ask Goten threw the talisman against the wall. Nothing happen. Goten retrieved it and tried again. Nothing happened for the second time.

“Goten! What are you doing? This is no time for games! And stop throwing your toys around! You would break something!” His mother scorned him.

“I was trying to get it to play. Trunks threw it against the wall and it started playing. We don’t know how to turn it on the any other way.” An idea hit Trunks like a ton of bricks falling out of the sky and landed straight on his head.

“Wait a minute! Maybe the hit didn’t turn it on.” Trunks stepped close to it. “Liolllio!” A small sound of metical device went off and then Vegeta’s voice in his native tongue rang out. It was back to the beginning.

“What is he saying?”

“His just yelling at Nappa. It’s not important. But, the last entry is where he is on Grandfather’s ship. His yellow eye can charm anyone. Including him. In his entry he said that he could felt his mind and control slipping away. Without his animal side he couldn’t fight it off anymore. Grandfather would visit him and ware his will down though no food, rest and constant pestering. The last thing on there he said was, ‘He is coming again with the smell of a hardy meal like always, because I do play by the rules. I am not allowed to eat or even sleep properly. It is just like Frieza really. My mind can not take too much more of this. It was on the brink before I got here. Part of me just wants to give in now. It is humourist to think that I wished that the lizard was here instead of his person only known as Grandfather. He only tried to break my will not morph it into his own.’ Everyone looked at him. “It loses it little in translation.” Bulma eyes flashed with anger as she turned to Goku. She didn’t have to say a thing.

“On it. Everyone. Hold on.”

“We’re coming too!” Trunks said with the same tone his father would use. Normal he would be scorned was that but, under the circumstances. It was understandable.

“You bet.” Both smiled and held on to his shirt. His felt was Vegeta’s ki. It was close to the ship. Just outside it really. Goku and everyone disappeared with a flash.

X)(X

Vegeta felt Goku coming and stopped making Grandfather stop to. Goku appeared two steps in front of them. Vegeta looked at Goku and then at the boys.

“Did I forget to say goodbye?” Goten and Trunks started talking at the same time saying the same thing.

“He’s evil. His eye can charm. We heard it on your talisman.” Grandfather pale and started to sweat almost unnoticeably in the darkness. Vegeta looked at him, he could see the sweat gathering on Grandfather. Through the charm his mind still could see why he would be doing so on such a cool night. Grandfather gave a smile as Vegeta was looking at him.

“I am no more evil than you are. They want you to stay. They will say anything.”

“Then that means you are very evil, Grandfather.” Grandfather only chuckled and stroked Vegeta’s hair back. Vegeta allowed Grandfather to touch him for a few moments before he had enough and knocked his arm away.

Vegeta looked back down at Goten. His eyes narrowed hard.

“Uhe uihewf oije Goten. Ijoe opiweeiun.” Goten nodded hard with no hesitation. “Then I will hear it.” Grandfather put his hand on his shoulder.

“Vegeta. We need to leave.” Vegeta shrugged his hand off.

“You sound like you are hiding something. If they are misunderstood my language then you have nothing to worry about unless you are lying to me.” Vegeta looked at Grandfather. “Are you lying to me?” A smile crossed Grandfather lips.

“I never would do anything to my dark spirt. You know that.” Vegeta looked back down.

“I asked you not to call me that.   “Sorry little one.”

“Between those two pet names I prefer dark spirt.” Vegeta turned his attention back to group in front of him. He stretched out his hand to Goten. Goten put the talisman in his hand.

Vegeta brought it up to his mouth. Grandfather put his hand on Vegeta head. Vegeta’s eyes widened and rolled back. The talisman dropped from his hand. With speed unmatched Grandfather had Vegeta in his arms.

“You couldn’t leave it alone. I hate people like you!”

“Put him down!”

“No. I gone through enough trouble to change him. Waiting for the right time. I need him. And I can make him forget his past. He can be happy for all for all his life. It’s a win-win.”

“Your sick! Vegeta is staying here.” Grandfather widened his eyes. Both Trunks and Goten reacted violently.

“Don’t look into his charm eye!” Nothing happened. He wasn’t doing the charm eye.

The wind picked up. Turning they saw the girl with the beautiful wings. The wind she was causing was strong, like a twister. It was pulling trees from the ground. Roots and all. Behind her were the other children. All the other children. All seemed ready to fight. The winged one stopped her wind attack. She seemed to be waiting for a command to continue.

Grandfather laughed having Vegeta over his shoulder. He smiled like he knew he had just won this fight.

“Are you going to fight children? Kill them to save one? Can you do that? I don’t think you can.”

“You would let these kids get hurt?”

“There here aren’t they. And soon I won’t need them anymore. Vegeta here will provide me with all the youth and life force I need. Attack!” The children started walking to them like a small army.

“Did you hear him? He doesn’t care about you!” The children didn’t miss a step. Like they didn’t hear him or what Grandfather said.

“Nice try. They only hear what I want them to hear. They will do what I say.” Goku looked back at the kids. They looked ready to kill.

“You’re a monster.”

“Yeah. Well. We all can’t be perfect. Well. Not yet anyways.”

X)(X

Vegeta was floating around in a dark void. It was like space with no stars. He opened his tried eyes. His head hurt.

“Am I dead?” He looked around seeing only darkness. “This is like when Frieza killed me.” Well I got what I wanted. My black darkness void of everything. So . . .then why . . . why am I not happy?Vegeta’s feet hit a hard surface although it looked no different than anything else in this place. Vegeta remember last time he walked and walked until a light showed up. But, this time there was no point. He was no killed by a enemy or in battle. He would not return to the ancient Saiyan training grounds this time.

Vegeta accepted that fact and sat down on hard surface under his feet. He still had his bad memories unlike before when he died but, here he would suppress them or at least try without detraction.

Sitting there he closed his eyes ready to put himself into a trance like state forever. His head leaned back a bit.

“Vegeta.” A soft voice said he name. Vegeta opened his eyes seeing nothing but, the same black void as before.

“Just my imagination.” Vegeta tried again.

“Vegeta.” Vegeta stood.

“Okay. That is not my imagination.” Vegeta said softly to himself. “Who is there! Show yourself! Unless you are a coward!” Vegeta looked around again not that he could see anything else but, darkness.

“Coward! Ha! The only coward is Grandfather. Hiding behind children!”

“Grandfather would never! Who are you?” The darkness started to melt around him showing a forest. The same forest on plant Vegeta.

Vegeta was confused. Nothing made sense right now. His head felt worst than when Grandfather used to the stone to save himself from his animal side. Vegeta slid to his knees in pain. He wanted someone to throw a ki blade into his head. He knew now there was a good chance that he wasn’t dead. Being dead wasn’t this painful. Unless this was so kind of punishment. Which could be possible. He wasn’t really innocent to say the least. He was down right evil to say the most.

A hand was rubbing through his hair. He didn’t have the strength to knock the hand away. And not to mention it was kinda helping with the pain. His body leaned back with his mind’s permission. He could feel it was a woman’s body behind him. It was solid as stone and strong. He was a long moments before his head started to ease up a little.

Vegeta turned his head to see who this woman was. Her hair flared around her face. It was black as midnight with slight brown streaks. She looked younger than Bulma and she was Saiyan. The smell alone told him full blooded. The scent was so familiar. He knew it. Or one like it. The pain went away as he put the pieces together.

“Calflowe?”

“About time you realized that. But, then again. That creepy old man messed with your head.”

“You can not be her. Your too old.” She smiled with a sneer.

“I wished to grow older than when I died. I stopped ageing a bit ago. Would you stay a child forever?”

“I guess not.” Vegeta turned all the way. His emotions completely blown away, he clung to her like a second skin. Her arms went around him.

“You don’t have to worry. We don’t blame you.” Vegeta looked at her. He didn’t understand her statement.

“You asked us to forgive you. There’s nothing to forgive.”

“But, you both died because . .”

One finger was put on his lips just like a human mother would do. Vegeta stopped his sentence at that. That in itself surprised him.

“We had deaths with some honor. Instead of the planet blowing up before we on the surface could kill us. We should think you.” Vegeta didn’t want to argue but, it didn’t make sense to him in anyway. He could see Tiukla. Nappa killed him. He was outmatched but, he was there and attacked in the stomach. He faced his attacker. But, she was tortured by his father. He wasn’t sure if that counted as honorable or not if done by your own race.

“You still should not have died like that.”

“Please.Sssssssssssssshhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhuuu uuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttt uuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuupppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppp pp!” Vegeta laughed once almost humorlessly as he put his tried head on her shoulder.

“You have not changed. I am glad.”

“You have another visitor to meet.”

“Tiukla?” She shook her head. Vegeta seemed almost disappointed.

“Only two could visit you here. I thought it best to be someone closer to you. He was a little upset but, he’ll get over it. By the way. I told him that Rolin was prince Vegeta. I’m not sure if he was surprised that much or not. Hard to tell with him sometimes.” Vegeta nodded in understanding and agreement as a shadow of another was coming. Looking over Calflowe’s shoulder he saw another woman mostly in the shadows. Vegeta could see that she was barely older than Calflowe herself. Than again Saiyans were known as ageless among most races. She could be a whole lot older for all he thought. “Well, aren’t you going to say hello to your mother, Vegeta?” Vegeta completely stopped breathing as total shock set in.

X)(X

Goku and Gohan were back to back. The smile boy and the girl with the three feet of nails surrounded them. The children were good fighters. The weird techniques and skills were throwing them off. Not to mention they were outnumbered and had to still protect the non-fighters of the group. Goku didn’t want to hurt them. They were being controlled. His feelings were getting in the way.

X)(X

Vegeta recovered from the shock. He must have blacked out from a moment because he was on the ground with the woman, Calflowe said was his mother. She kinda resembled the statue but, this was too weird. She was three hundred years his senior in a way.

The woman leaned down on all fours leaning in his face. Vegeta was freaked out for once in his life. Without the animal inside he could understand her actions. She started sniffing the air in front of his face. Pain flared inside his head worst than before.

Forgetting all about the woman he fell the side holding his head. Quick breaths were taken as if it helped the help any.

“It’s okay, Vegeta. The stone’s effect is wearing off. Quicker here than anywhere else. Don’t fight it.” Vegeta heard her words but, made no acknowledgment of hearing her at all. Arms rapped around him as his mother picked him up from the ground. She brought him up to her chest sitting back on her heels. His mind spilt into two parts again. The familiar pain of two yelling voices coursed through him. He heard a growl than wasn’t his own and a hand touching the side of his head.

It all stopped. The pain of yelling voices were gone. They just stopped as there were one. Vegeta looked at her. Her eyes were half feral. Just like the pictures Bulma showed him not long ago. He could read behind his own eyes. The emotion his older self could feel and the feralness he kept. It didn’t control he. In the future he must have found a way to combine both sides to keep himself from going crazy.

“Better?” Vegeta recoiled at her voice. Calflowe was saying Saiyanjin. But, she was specking the earth language.

“How you . . . why are you . .?”

“Because . . . you can. Both language are the same to me. Weird. New saiyanjin is almost an insult.”

“Are you really Toilmaish?”

“Yes. Freed from the stone prison. You are my son three hundred or so years later. Due to a fiery haired woman in a white jacket. Had blue eyes. Not a Saiyan.” Vegeta nodded. That was his creator. Fay-lo-inles. “That man. . . that old man messed with your mind. Frieza and your . . um Father did too.”

“You ever met him?”

“No. I would bite his face off and feed on his intestines if I ever had.”

“I definitely got my morbid streak from you.” She grinned and rubbed her face against his like the motherly tiger had done many times before.

Vegeta openly embraced her. He hugged her harder than he even has Bulma. Which was a good thing because he would break her back with not even full strength. “I never understood why I was always to close to you when I never really met you.”

“That is the animal in us. We feel things intensely. Strong bonds with family and love ones. Feral bonds. Yours are half but, yours are still so strong. That is why.”

“I understand.”

“Good. I have such a smart boy.” She was purring loud. Louder than Vegeta believed he could. “We both must go.” She said suddenly.

“Go? Where we going?” Vegeta said looking up at her.

“You. Back to the real world. Us.” She looked over her shoulder at Calflowe. “Back to the other world.”

“So I am really not dead?”

“No. This is between life, death, . . . and dream.” Vegeta looked down at the rocky ground.

“I will never see you again. Will I?” Her hand landed on his head. Ruffling his hair. For once in his whole life Vegeta didn’t care and partly liked it.

“In dreams maybe. Both of us. We have a bond. Different but, strong.” Vegeta looked seeing both of them were not a solid as they were before. Looking down he saw either was he. Calflowe humorlessly laughed.

“Times up! Bye. Oh! And turn Super all you want. It’s a honor that my death triggered it.”

X)(X

Vegeta opened his eyes seeing he was over Grandfather’s shoulder like a sack of potatoes. Vegeta mind clear and charm free stayed still. To catch him at the perfect moment.

“Finish them all off. We don’t have time.” Vegeta heard enough. He decided the sneaky approach was best. He groaned loudly and started to move. He felt Grandfather stiffen a little.

“Grandfather? What is going on?” Vegeta asked pretending to be innocent a bit.

“You don’t remember.” Vegeta slipped off of Grandfather’s shoulder and shrugged. “You ‘friends’ attacked.”

“No.” Vegeta said sounding shocked and bewildered.

“Yes.” Vegeta turned to the others sneering. He knew what was going on. Grandfather was lying to him and it made him even madder.

“Fine. Time to put a stop to this.” Vegeta jumped into the battle field.

“Iorwer uied!” Both Trunks and Goten understood and covered their eyes. The other Z-fighter seeing that did so the best they could. “Super nova!” The light of the solar flare attack turned night into day. The children stopped covering there eyes.

Most of the children were down. Some passed out. A few were unaffected by the attack. The girl was the three feet of nails, the slime boy, and a yellow elf looking girl who covered her eyes like the grown-ups did. Krillen uncovered to see most of the kids on the ground.

“Why did we think of that?”

“Because you are stupid.” Vegeta answered him.

“I wasn’t wanting an answer!”

“Then do not ask a question, moron.”

“Vegeta!” Vegeta turned with a fake pout of his face.

“Yes, Grandfather?”

“Why did you do that!”

“Because the Tiger’s eye you took from me back when we first met effect no longer will affect me. Two. Your charm eye effect is removed. I remember what really happened back then. You will not get away with this again!” Red eyes looked at Grandfather. Grandfather eyes narrowed.

“Will I guess I have to start you with a blank state. Too bad really. Your knowledge would have been handy. Get him!” The three that weren’t down attacked.

Both Trunks and Goten intercepted. They landed on both sides of Vegeta in battle stance.

“How about a little tag team?”

“I thought I told you to stop watching the WWE show!” Vegeta said with slight humor before turning into the drill instructor. “All right. Goten take the elf girl, Trunks miss nails is yours, leave the slime boy to me. Attack!”

“Yes sir!” Trunks and Goten cris-crossed in front of the Vegeta taking on there targets. Vegeta ran straight.

The others rounded up the downed Children and tied them up so they could get away. So were tied to trees or on the ground with ki bands to preventing movement. It wasn’t there fault. It was the ringleader. Grandfather.

Trunks dodge with startled yelps as the long nails slashed at him. There were as hard as stones and could cut through them too. Raising them above her head she pulled them down. Trunks didn’t have time to move.

The girl was knocked out with her nails still in the ground. He looked up to see Goku with two fingers on his forehead.

“Thanks!”

“Anytime.” Goku looked over at the other two seeing Goten punched by the elf girl. He went through a tree. Setting Trunks down he appeared behind her.

“Nothing personal.” She turned to get a punch in the stomach. She didn’t pass out like Goku intended. He checked his strength so his fist wouldn’t go through her but, she was stronger than she looked. She stepped back clenching her stomach with one hand and mouth open trying to regain her breath. Raising the other Goku couldn’t move like he was stuck. The ground was shallowing him up.

A tap on the shoulder she turned to punch at the officer but, was beaten to the punch. Landing on the ground hard she passed out. Goku was spit out of the ground. Both nodded in thanks. Two down one to go.

Vegeta was getting annoyed. Punching and kicking did little as he fist could go through him. In was like fighting a jell-o monster. It could form it’s blob of a body into any shape making Ki blasts nearly useless.

“Need help?” Goku asked as Goten, Trunks stepped to his side.

“No. But, I will take it anyways.” All smiled before turning to there weird enemy. “I have an idea. Keep him busy.” Vegeta flew up in the air. Goku looked down at the boys who shrugged and attack. Goku looked up watching as Vegeta flew high in the air.

Trunks lunged at him and a Trunks’ size whole formed in the middle of the smile. Trunks sailed right through it hitting the ground hard.

“How can we get this guy if we can’t even hit him?”

“This guy is worst than Buu. We could hit him!”

“Tell me about it. But, how do we stop this kid?” Vegeta flew down hard landing in the middle of the slime creature. It’s surprise rivaled the others.

“What is he doing!” They watched as Vegeta moved within the slime as his ki rose higher. Blue eyes were seen as golden power exploded a moment later. The slime blew apart as the power of Vegeta’s Super Saiyan mode was to much for it to contain within it’s body.

Vegeta brushed off some of the slime that was on his shoulder with a eerie smile that was evil in it’s own right.

“I guess he went all to pieces on me. It will be a bit before he can pull himself back together.” Goku and Trunks groaned slightly as the puns. Goten found it kinda funny. Not what he said but, the way he said it.

“I thought you said you would not use such and such’s death.” Vegeta turned fast making Trunks hide behind Goku for a moment.

“Such and such’s name is Calflowe!” Vegeta calmed remembering he promised not to kill anyone. No matter if they deserved it. “Let us say that I got permission for it.”

“Permission?”

“Explanations later. Grandfather now!”

The ship’s engines started to blare and dirt started to fly. Vegeta flew up above the dust seeing the ship starting to take off.

“Oh. No you do not!”

“Vegeta. Wait!” Vegeta flew fast and through the haul of the space ship like a hot knife through butter.

Before Goku could rise into the air the ship itself started to fall back to the earth. Goku stood there mouth open. He didn’t understand for a moment until the ship door opened forcibly as Vegeta dragged Grandfather out by his incredibility long hair.

“I do not say you could leave the party. You are staying.”

“Let me go! Please!”

“No.” Everyone including Bulma and Chi-Chi gathered around. Without the kids to fight, Grandfather was almost helpless. Vegeta growled and grabbed Grandfather’s face.

“I am only going to ask once. Undo everything you do to me . . And them. Or I was use Bulma’s suggestion on you. Trust me. You do not want that.”

Bulma blushed crimson and turned away, she was almost mad at herself for telling him that. She figured he would have forgotten about it by now. Not with Vegeta’s memory though.

“I can’t!”

“You can and you will. If you want to still be breathing that is.” His voice started to go animal like again. But, unlike before he was in control. The gift his mother gave to him. One solid mind without of the loss of abilities.

“No. I can’t. The charm has to wear off of them.” Vegeta lifted him up into his growling face.

“Fine then. Reverse what you did to me and will call a work in process.”

“I can’t! It was a one way deal!” Vegeta slammed his head against the ground. Hard enough to give him a headache, not to kill. Lifting his head back up Vegeta smiled softly and spoke in an even softer tone.   “That was a warning. Do not lie to me. You should know. I hate that.”

“I’m not. . . . I used the life force of three of the children to force feed to you. When your energy was low I pushed it into you forcing your cells to regenerates and reverse backwards. You’re mind locked away the memories of older times. Your body is made to survive. I knew you could handle the shock to the system! I can’t change this!”

“Well then.” Vegeta dropped him to the ground. “I guess there is no reason for you to stay breathing.” Vegeta grabbed him back to the neck and brought down his hand in a claw of steel.

Grandfather passed out from freight as Vegeta’s hand stuck into the ground right by his head. He growled and pulled his gloved hand out of the ground.

“I am surprised that you did not stop me, Kakarot. I could have killed him, you know.”

“And brake your promise? I don’t think so. That’s not you!” Vegeta laughed softly a few times.

“You are learning. But, I was still tempted to do so. No matter the disgrace of my honor would have been.”

“Tough choices.”

“True.” Vegeta looked down at Grandfather curling his lip. “Get him out of my sight before I decide it is worth a dishonor to kill him. Painfully!” Vegeta turned away from a loud huff and started to walk away from the destruction and everyone there.

X)(X

Moving all the unconscious kids to the unused guest rooms and Grandfather tied to a chair. Everyone was unsure on what to do with them. They couldn’t stay here. Their looks alone would start with the questions no one wanted to answer.

Vegeta came in two hours after everyone else but, didn’t want to talk to anyone or be in the same room with Grandfather. Just incase he decided to screw honor for the moment and kill him. Bulma could see something else was really bugging him but decided to let to go for the night. Vegeta had enough for night. She would talk to him in the morning. She would bribe him with chocolate if she needed to. Vegeta even now had a thing for chocolate or according to her mother. He had a thing for her chocolate chip pancakes. Some things about Vegeta didn’t seem to change too much. It was too cute in a way.

Goku got a call from North kai. Whatever is was it seemed important. He was still outside talking to him. It was late but, she wasn’t tried. Not physically yet.

Goku came back in. Everyone’s eyes were turned to him. He smiled almost cheerfully turning to Grandfather who was awake now.

“Guess why. Grand kai contacted the police force where your from. You had outstanding warrants and such. And the gas. There is no kid that has to breath in the gas. It’s a cover. He uses that to kill off inhabits of planets and takes the kids that survive it. He sucks up the youth and life force from the weaker ones and keeps one from every planet. When they get older he sells them to collectors or a last of there kind species zoo. Plus he told them about all you did here. There on their way. They said something about Huio-joi-iums or something.” Grandfather started to sweat. Whatever that was. It must be really bad. “They will be here in the morning.” Goku walked to Bulma and whispered in her ear. “When they get here. Make sure Vegeta is nowhere to be seen. He is on there list too but, don’t know his here. Don’t even mention his name.” Bulma nodded and went upstairs. “Okay! Who wants watch him until morning?”

“I’ll do it.” Piccolo said. Goku nodded and helped Chi-Chi up off the couch.

X)(X

Bulma stopped by Vegeta’s door seeing he was laying in bed. Face away from the door. His head were his feet should be but, that was no big deal. She closed the door all the way. Vegeta heard she open it slowly. He was no where near asleep. He heard about the law enforcement from the Miil galaxy. He been there before. He decided to stay out of sight when they showed up. He didn’t want a cell next to Grandfather’s.

“In dreams maybe. Let us test that mother.” Vegeta closed his eyes.

X)(X

Vegeta was laying down in a field of wild fire lilies. The scent of home was soothing to the senses. His head in her lap. They spent the last few hours playing some old fashion Saiyan games. His felt that his body was going to wake up soon. Nothing he could do about it. Peasant like dreams or not.

“It’s all a temporarily condition.”

“What?”

“This form. Your body is growing to fast. The energy treatment he did is slowly working it’s way out of your system. Your already bigger than you were a few earth days ago. You should grow back to your full size and age in a earth month or two.”

“And my memories?”

“I think you still have them. Just buried down inside your mind.”

“There is a part I can not get to. Too many painful memories of things I wanted to forget.”

“My sweet boy. Nightmares all the time.” She kissed him on his forehead and his eyes slid shut. “No more bad dreams like that. No more punishing yourself for crimes of others.”

“I am about to wake up. Damn eternal clock.”

“You are mothers boy. Before the sun. Always. kind of annoying.”

“Tell me about it. Later.”

“Soon.” Vegeta body disappeared leaving that world between worlds.

X)(X

Vegeta’s eyes opened. He was going to stay in that room until those offices came and went with Grandfather. He laid down. He sorted through his memories removing the few fakes that Grandfather put in there over the coarse of two days, with the help of his mother. Vegeta moved to the floor and started to do one pinky push-ups. Anything to keep his mind busy until they came and took the trash away.

X)(X

Grandfather was useless without his kids to do the fighting for him. It was a weird change on pace really. Grandfather looked at him intently. Piccolo took Eighteen advice and covered that yellow eye. Just incase.

“If only I was a few years younger.”

“Too bad.” Piccolo watched emotions run from the old man without care of his feelings. “Why did you change Vegeta into a child for? If you could charm. Why go through the trouble?”

“His mind was more fragile now. Plus children open up more than adults. I don’t want to deal with the adult version without him under my control. With him never aging I could have been a great warrior again.”

“You were a warrior? Doubtful.”

“It will happen to you soon. Your body will slow down. Things will hurt to move. I never should asked for eternal life. I should have say enteral youth instead. I keep ageing and getting older. Soon I needed to steal life and youth to look like a dried up corse that was breathing.”

“When my time comes I will accept it.”

“But, Vegeta never will. He’ll never know that pain of growing to old to fight.”

“Not his choice. He was made that way. But, why didn’t you just drain him when you had the charm on him.”

“That needs to be a bond of trust or another strong emotion. Vegeta is stubborn. It would have taken time before I could get anything out of him. But, it would have been worth it.”

“Well. How sad for you.”

“I will never die and doubt they will put me to death or that it would work and I will keep aging. What would you do?”

“I never would have made that wish in the first place. I don’t want to live forever.”

“Sadly. I don’t want to live it this form either.”

“You have to deal with your decision.” Piccolo walked away going to the entrance doors. He felt a whole bunch of life forces coming their way. It was probably the law enforcement the north kai was telling Goku about.

X)(X

The ship came and landed in the same spot was Grandfather ship. They checked the ship but, nothing was in there. Not a thing but, some stolen artifacts and such. They said they would take the children too. Send them home. At least those how still had a race to go back too. Some had no one. It was so sad. Fostering seemed to be the only thing they could do for them. Some were still under the charm and had to be restrained still. Depending on the child to ranged for a couple of hours to a month for the charm to ware off.

“Is there anything else we can do.” Bulma asked watching as Grandfather was being practically carried inside.

“We have the children he didn’t drain of life yet. The records of the ones he did drain too. I think you done enough lady. All of you.” He pulling on his translator and herded the other officers into the ship. “U’e! U’e! Uie’nlpp!” Everyone ran inside and the leading office followed suit. He turned and nodded his thanks as the steps moved up. Once done the ship with off the ground and gone. Faster than Goku’s instant transmission.

“Well. That was weird!” Bulma rolled her eyes.

“Yeah. Let’s go.”
