Raditz woke up in his quarters on board Freeza's Mega space station. Now a first class soldier in Freeza's army, he
had quite a few privileges. At his young age of 15, it was unprecedented, so he was proud of it. It wasn't easy, but
it wasn't nearly as hard as becoming an elite. You needed a power level of at least 10000 to become an elite. His
was only 600, but it was high enough to get him where he was now. He showered, got dressed and went to get
some food. He had slept in very late because it was his day off, so it was just lunch time.

He exited his room and proceed to to the mess hall. He happened to pass by the docks, and saw that Freeza's flag
ship had returned from an unknown mission which Freeza himself had attended. According to the computer it had
been in for a few hours. He went on and happened by the med bay. He would have gone on, but out of the corner
of his eye he saw a small girl in one of the regen tanks lined along the wall. He backed up a few steps and went in
for a better look. What had caught his eye was a furry brown tail which was wrapped around her waist. He looked
around for the doctor to ask about her, but none was found. He assumed it was because it was lunch time. He
looked at the control panel and saw that she should be out by now. He was friends with the doctor and saw no
harm in doing a bit of his work for him. He pressed a red button, and the liquid drained from the tank. The door
opened and the three year old Saiya-jin fell out. Raditz caught her and laid her on a table. He looked around for her
clothes, and saw them lying on a nearby counter. He picked them up. Her shoes were very unusual, but were fine.
The rest was covered in blood. He put them back and went to a nearby closet containing various clothes. He picked
out some loose "recovery clothes" and closed the door before returning to Pan. The clothes he picked out for her
were all loose and brown. He dressed her and shook her awake.

'W-who are you?' she asked sleepily. He studied her a little before answering.

'I am Raditz. Who are you?'

'Umm....I'm....Pan,' she said unsurely.

'Pan? That's an odd name for a Saiya-jin,' he stated.

'What's a Saiya-jin?' He stared at her in shock. Didn't she know what she was?

'You mean you don't know?' He asked, the shock evident in his voice. She shook her head.

'I don't remember. Now that I think 'bout it, I can't remember anything....' She trailed off. 'So what is a Saiya-jin?'

'A........A Saiya-jin is a member of a warrior race. You and I are both Saiya-jins. Now, don't you remember anything?'
Chibi Pan racked her mind, but couldn't form a clear picture of anything.

'All I remember is that...I must destroy the androids,' she said. Raditz raised an eyebrow.

'What do you mean by that?' he asked.

'I don't know,' she answered honestly. 'All I know is that I must destroy them. And...' She gasped, and her face
became pained. She began to tear up. 'And it's my fault that my planet was destroyed...' Raditz became a bit
annoyed when she began to cry, but tried to comfort her anyway.

'Don't worry. Our planet isn't gone, so stop crying. Saiya-jins don't cry,' he said while pointing a finger at her.

'They...sniff....don't?'

'No! It's weak to cry, and the weak die. Fortunately, the Saiya-jin are strong,' said Raditz, trying to reassure her. He
had hardly laid eyes on children before, much less tried to comfort them, so he wasn't doing a good job.

'Well....ok.' She wanted to believe this man, but deep down she knew that he was wrong. 'Uncle Raditz?'

'I'm not your uncle, brat. I was just taking you out of the regeneration tank for the doc, so don't call me that,' he
said sternly.

'I'm sorry. Raditz?'

'What is it, brat?'

'I'm hungry.' Her stomach growled as if to prove her point. Raditz's growled as well.

'So am I. Would you like to come get some food with me?' Pan literally jumped for joy at the prospect of getting
food. She latched herself onto her unbeknownst great uncle's neck. He pried her off and put her firmly on the
ground. 'Look brat, I don't know why you don't act like a Saiya-jin should, but if don't stop this perkiness right now,
I'll put you back in the tank!' he scolded. She shrank back.

'How is a Saiya-jin 'sposed ta act?' Raditz scowled at her for her naiveness.

'Like me. Like you don't give a fuck about anyone else but yourself.' Pan gasped at his choice of language, but
wisely chose not to say anything. 'Now come on and follow me if you want food.' He left and she ran after him.

After what seemed like endless corridors to Pan, the duo came upon a huge dining area with a bar and lounge. It
was round in shape and the plush carpets made it warm and welcoming. It was framed by a large window which
looked out into the vast expanse of space. He spotted the doctor by the bar and approached him.

'Hi Bob,' greeted Raditz. As soon as Bob looked at him his face became sorrowful. He was choked for words for a
while, before managing some out.

'Raditz....I'm so sorry,' he said remorsefully. Raditz looked at him oddly. Why was he sorry?

'What are you talking about?' asked Raditz, a tinge of worry etched his heart.

'You mean you don't know?' asked the doctor.

'No. What is it? Did something bad happen?' Raditz was becoming a bit impatient.

'You have no idea, Raditz,' said the doctor. 'It's Vegeta-sei.' He would have gone on when the television went on
loudly. All eyes turned to it.

'Today a terrible accident occurred. The Rotla asteroid crashed into the planet Vegeta-sei, killing all life on it and
blasting it into little bits. The asteroid came from...' That was all that Raditz heard. He felt the doctor's hand on his
shoulder, but he didn't pay any mind to it.

'N-no....' He began to shudder violently. A burning unrest developed within his soul, daring him to destroy
everything in sight. He began to glow a burning red aura and his power level increased. 'It...It can't be!!!' People
backed away from him in fear.

'Raditz! Don't do something that you'll regret later!' cautioned Bob.

'No!!! It just can't be! It was the night of the full moon! Every Saiya-jin returns to Vegeta-sei for that event! Do you
know what that means! I am one of the only ones left!' He shook more and more; he was about to blast something
when he noticed little Pan cowering in fear behind the doctor's leg. He took several deep breaths and sank to his
knees. His shuddering lessened to the point where he could control it. He decided that he must control himself.
Breaking down in public was absolutely unacceptable. He gathered his thoughts and suddenly stood, a stoic
expression on his features. Without another word her marched out and headed for his room where he could grieve
in private, away from the prying eyes of everyone else.

And so Raditz left. Pan knew she had been right about her planet's destruction. She had no idea that her planet
and Raditz's were different ones, but she would not question what planet she was from ever again. She came from
Vegeta-sei. Seeing Raditz take the news the way he did, Pan got an idea of what a Saiya-jin was meant to act like.
She tried not to cry, and succeeded. It would be a long time until she and Raditz met again.
