I would like to thank Kiarene for beta'ing this for me! ^_^
Shit! What the hell is wrong with me?!, a very frustrated Saiyajin prince thought as he tossed and turned in bed, his overly heated skin agitating him to no Earthly end.
Vegeta's eyes cracked open as he groaned angrily. Streams of silvery moonlight glided over his writhing form, his tail thumping against the mattress in obvious irritation. The prince's hands slid across the sheets, searching for the familiar heat of his mate before the grim realization sank into his sleep hazed mind that the woman was gone. Had been gone for months now.
The monarch grabbed a pillow and pressed it over his head in hopes of blocking out the intoxicating rays of the moon and his grief at the loss of his mate. However, this action served neither purpose. Vegeta growled softly as he tried to ignore his blatant need.
The prince sneered at himself. What a weakling he was being… And over just a bit of moonlight… He snarled. He hadn't had a partner in the past seven moonrises, though it had been something akin to torture enduring them, and he didn't need a partner now!
The angered monarch clenched his teeth, the fur on his tail bristling out to twice its normal size. None of the previous full moons had been anywhere near this bad. What the hell was so different about this one?!
Vegeta hissed softly and tried to assert his iron will over his rebellious body, but to no avail. The infuriated prince hurled his pillow to the far corner of the room and slid out of the sweat soaked bed.
Automatically twining his tail about his waist from sheer habit, Vegeta strode towards his bedroom window in hopes of finding the source of his body's unwanted loss of control. He stilled himself as his hand reached for the curtain, preparing himself to look directly at the moon without transforming.
After a few deep, calming breaths, the prince opened the cloth barrier between himself and direct moonlight and stared into the bright disk, pushing down the hormones that threatened to throw him into his oozaru state. What he found shocked him to no end. The moon had taken on a bold reddish hue. A blood moon. It explained everything…
His skin began to heat unbearably. The monarch quickly closed the curtains before he lost all semblance of control. A damn blood moon… Thankfully, it hadn't risen to its highest point yet, but that would happen in scarcely over an hour. Once it did, however, he would be reduced to nothing but an animal, completely running on his instincts.
Fuck!! What the HELL am I supposed to do now?! The considerably agitated prince raged in his own head. I have no mate, and I'm going to become nothing more than a rutting beast in less than an hour! Kamidamnit!
The prince came to a quick conclusion. He would have to simply get away from people. Far away. Both to keep himself from hurting anyone or claiming anybody under the influence of the moon.
Vegeta hastily pulled on a pair of baggy navy gi pants, not wanting to treat the entire city to the sight of a very naked Saiyajin flying over them. The thought of hundreds of humans seeing him in that state filled him with pure disgust.
He stopped for a moment to push the raging hormones in his body down before opening his window and flying out. The direct moonlight beckoned him to transform, but he willed himself not to.
The cool night air felt strangely soothing against his overly heated skin as he streaked toward the closest woodland he could find. Hopefully, he would come across no humans there. If he did, they would not draw breath for long after.
Vegeta landed in a small forest clearing far from the city, idly wondering how the blood moon was affecting the other of his kind. He smirked for a second, imagining how Kakarott's harpy would be handling this, before leaping gracefully into a tree to wait for the moon to run its course.
At the Son house, things were going not at all smoothly…
Son Goku paced restlessly around the living room, his tail lashing in irritation. He wished he knew why. For some odd reason, he was experiencing extreme agitation, restlessness, and arousal. The restlessness and arousal were expected on a full moon but usually not as potent as they were tonight, and the agitation was something completely new.
It felt so strange. He was filled with pent-up energy and had nothing to do with it. The Saiyajin felt like going up to his bedroom and fucking his mate breathless, but Chichi had already made it clear that she would have none of that tonight. That had only added to his inner turmoil. He felt like reaching out and throttling something, anything so long as he could kill it. Goku blinked, utterly shocked and disgusted with himself for such a thought.
No matter how fast the Saiyajin paced, the feelings would not go away. If anything, they multiplied tenfold, and he realized that maybe getting out of the house would be a good idea.
He silently thanked Vegeta for the lessons he had given him in controlling his oozaru transformation and nearly ripped the door off of its hinges in his rush to do leave the house. He had to do something; he couldn't stand to be cooped up in that house and not do anything. He was afraid that he really would kill something if it came to that.
Maybe a jog in the woods will help, Goku thought, trying to ignore the effect the direct moonbeams were having on him and desperately keeping his eyes from seeking the moon.
The trees and lush plants in the forest became an emerald blur as the Earth-raised Saiyajin took off at a speed no human could ever hope to match. However, Goku came to a quick stop as a smoky, spicy aroma wafted its way into his nostrils. It was quite possibly the best thing he'd ever caught scent of.
At that moment, the moon reached its peak in the sky, and the gentle warrior known as Son Goku lost himself. Succumbing completely to his instincts, he took off in the direction of that tantalizing fragrance.
A/N: I know it's kind of a slow start, but it'll most definitely pick up in the next chapter…
