Dragon Ball/Z/GT Fan Fiction ❯ Blue Haired Argetlam ❯ Just A Week ( Chapter 4 )
[ P - Pre-Teen ]
Author's Note: I apologize for using Bra AND Bulla as the names for Vegeta's daughter. To keep from being confused, please keep in mind that BOTH those names are her name.

“Now, Bra..aim for the bull's-eye.” Vegeta was giving Bra lessons with using a bow and arrows. What was funny was that this practice of archery was encouraging Bra to do her best Robin Hood impression.
“Bra, please, don't do that to the arrows!”
After hitting a space on the target, Bra would shut one eye and shoot another arrow, slicing the first arrow in half.
“Why can't I do that?”
Vegeta rolled his eyes, “Because those arrows could have been USED again. Okay, this time try to hit the bull's-eye. And if you hit it, then you can do that to that particular arrow!”
At that moment Trunks walked in. “Mom says to quit practicing. She says Goku's come over for lunch, something about that evil king you mentioned the other day.”
“Kakorot's gone off the deep end about Galbatorix. Surely even he knows that no one's ever taken on the King and lived. The King was the one person that no one dared mess with. He was the one person I openly feared. And I still do, though he's at least a century old..”
“He's an old-timer and you're afraid of him?” Trunks asked.
“Trunks, you misunderstand me. He may be that old, but that does not mean that he's that old physically. He is a Dragon Rider, and Riders retain their youth for some time. His mind is his most valuable weapon now..not to say that he is weak, but his mind is constantly producing evil plans and designs..”
Trunks replied, “He sounds much more intelligent then some of the enemies we've faced.”
“That he is, though I hate to admit it. He defeated all of the Riders with the help of only thirteen traitors..last time I checked, they were all still alive. But that was a long time ago, the Varden may have killed them all by this point.”
“You'll have to tell us the whole story sooner or later..I guess it'll come out as we get to Alagaësia.”
“I intend to let you learn a little bit at a time. Too much information at one time has hurt some people..” Vegeta said.
Goku suddenly walked into the room, “Guess what, Chi-Chi now wants to go with us to Alagaësia.”
“Oh, terrific,” Vegeta said, practically oozing sarcasm, “We can't have the harpy along with us on the trip, her anger just might make the mission worse off.”
“But if she doesn't come then when I get back, she'll be so mad at me..” Goku said.
“Fine, fine, she can come! But she has to have a disguise.”
“Great! Bulma can make one for her!”
Vegeta shook his head as Goku walked off. Didn't Kakorot know how serious this whole thing was? Didn't he know that some of them might not return alive?
Bra had put down her bow and arrows, and Vegeta said, “Okay, Bra, we're going to have to start on the magic. It is imperative that you learn to use magic properly. One thing you must always keep in mind—know your limits. If you use too much magic, then you will die.”
Bra's eyes got wide. “Then I'd better be careful.”
Vegeta led her to the Gravity Room. What better place, he thought, to train her in magic than there? She could practice doing many spells in the heavy gravity, which would, in turn, make her stronger in normal gravity.
---
Several weeks and breakings of the gravitron (that's what it's called, right?) later, Goku came by for another visit. He kept asking questions about King Galbatorix, like what he might fear, or things of that nature.
“He fears nothing!” Vegeta said, “Except for new Riders..he fears that any new Rider would defeat him. He is afraid that a new Rider would become stronger than him..”
“Then that is exactly what we have to do. Make Bra stronger than him,” Goku said, “Then we can beat him like that.”
“Make a child—no offense, Bra, but you are very young—stronger than the King? Impossible!” Vegeta said.
“Well we can try can't we? I did the same thing with Gohan against Cell. Maybe it will work with Bra against the King!” Goku replied.
“Let's just wait, okay? We can leave for Alagaësia in about a week. I suggest you try to be more intelligent, Kakorot—the elves pride themselves on being smart and elegant, and I don't want your being stupid to offend them.”
“A week to improve myself. Well, that'll be just great,” Goku said sarcastically, “I can't improve myself that dramatically in that short of a time! You know perfectly well I can't do that.”
“Well at least try to improve, Kakorot. You don't want your own kind rejecting you, do you?” Vegeta said.
“No,” Goku replied. “See you in a week.”
As Goku left, Bra said, “A week? Just a week? How am I going to put so much training into that short of a time?”
“You can only put so much in it, but you're going to have to try. The elves will want you to be strong, as they may not regard a child Rider as strong enough to be a Rider at all.”
“Then I'm going to be the strongest Rider ever!” Bra said, and she raced off to the gravity room, her dragon following her. Since the few weeks had passed, he had gotten much bigger and was just the tiniest bit taller than Bra.
Vegeta was watching Bra and her dragon, whom Bra had not yet named. He wondered why, then thought to himself, “She's probably just trying to come up with the perfect name. I know I racked my brains when I was younger than her to name my dragon.” He smiled to himself, wondering what his people would think of his daughter, such a young girl with such a big responsibility now.

Author's Note: I am very sorry about not updating sooner. I had lots of schoolwork, and the computer I did my schoolwork on didn't have this file on it.
