Dragon Ball/Z/GT Fan Fiction ❯ Breathe Today, Tomorrow Unknown ❯ Father ( Chapter 22 )
I am back! I promise I have not given up on this fiction, I am just super lazy. I always think to myself, "Yes, go on the computer and start writing a new chapter, you already know what you want to do." And then I say to myself, "You know what self, I do want to write, but I need music first!" So, I begin to put music on thinking that I would like to go on Youtube and listen to a playlist or random music that I don't know so I won't be distracted and sing along, but then it turns out that the side suggested videos pique my interest and then I just never get to writing another chapter, because I am great….
So, I am writing in silence today. Which is distracting, because I am too in my thought so we'll see how long it takes me to write this chapter. We'll see if it was sad at the amount of time it took, or incredible fast and not thought out too well.
Positive Guests: Thank you, I am writing her differently than I have seen. I am very much winging it!
DarkAssassin15: I am sorry you had to re-read chapters to remember what was going on. My bad for not updating sooner! xD
Niko8: Yes, alive!
SukiPuki: Thank you! I am glad you're enjoying my fiction! You've been around since the beginning! I appreciate your support!
LVR4Trunks -N- Vegeta: We shall see what happens ?
I've begun to realize
That whenever I am with you
You deliver me from the pain in my life
Her father was alive! As he looked at his woman, who he could tell was trying to keep it together, he could see the absolute shock in her eyes. She was fidgeting around with her hands, darting her eyes back and forth, and seemed nervous to a whole different level. As frequently as Goku had visited Earth in the past, he had no idea of her father being alive. He didn't watch too much Earth television, but whenever he did, he heard nothing of Dr. Briefs.
As he paid for both of their haircuts and her dye job, he looked back at his woman before heading out of the salon. From the outside, he looked through the window to see if she had noticed, and she had not. The commercial on the TV had ended and was back being the news. He could tell she was just begging to see her father show up on that screen again.
Taking out his cellphone, he began to call the hotel they were staying at. After a few rings, someone finally answered.
"Thank you for calling the Oasis hotel, how can I help you this afternoon?" A friendly voice spoke from the other side of the phone.
"Yes, this is Mr. Shenron. I need my car pulled up to the Salon on 5th please." He knew that even in this kind of situation, he was not going to be able to just pick her up and fly to her father's house, it would cause way too much attention. Instead, he was just going to have to drive her there.
"Of course Mr. Shenron, I will see to it that it is there as soon as possible. Is that all I can help you with today?" Her tone remained cheerful as she proved his task to not be a problem at all.
"No, thank you." Goku hung up the phone, looking through the window to see if Bulma was still fine; which for the most part she was.
He had never imagined their time on Earth would ever turn out this fortunate. He was beyond happy that she was about to meet her father. After all of the pain that she had endured throughout her life, she was finally seeing a glimmer of happiness. He knew she had so many questions and they could finally be answered. Hell, he was curious as to how her father had survived, too. A brutal attack from the Saiyan race was a rare experience to live through. With them being far superior in strength, it was child's play to kill humans. He would have to ask him how he managed to live as soon as the opportunity presented itself, but for right now, he was focused on getting his blue haired woman to her dad.
He had seen her happy on Planet Vegeta, but this was a completely different kind of joy. He had never seen so much positive emotion come out of this woman; hell, he even knew that she herself had never felt this much positive emotion. She had to contain herself and be on guard at all times that he could tell she didn't know what to do with everything that was happening to her right now. Looking through the window at her as she kept her eyes on the TV and the man took the products out of her hair, he could see that her face didn't know what to do. She was feeling so many things at once and for the first time in her life she was able to freely express every single emotion; her body didn't know how to react. All in all, though, she was happy.
Happiness and love was something that Bulma had given him so much of, that he didn't think he could ever start to repay her. She would never know how much she had saved him. What empty husk of a man he used to be was no longer, she had put him back together; an action he never thought would ever happen to him since his father left him. She honestly had no idea what she had done for him.
Back on Planet Vegeta when he and his brother had been taken in by the King after his rampage from his father leaving, that was when the King started brainwashing him. Back then he had no idea of what was going on just followed suit; it seemed normal at the time. He had separated him from his brother, which was also the main reason him and his brother were not close in the slightest, to give him personal training. What seemed like an act of kindness for taking him in and training him to be an elite warrior was actually all a front and the start of him being groomed.
Easy now to recognize
All the misery I have been through
It was beating me to submission
'Til the day you arrived
Intense hours of training mixed with little sleep and no food, Goku's body went through intense changes. He was thrown in different climates to survive without any clothes on his back, forced to be out there for months at a time to strain his body into learning to ignore the pains of hunger, temperature change, open wounds, sickness, mental hallucinations, and more. He would learn how to avoid getting into a primal state for survival, and stay level headed to keep him alive.
After several years enduring this intense training and learning how to stay in control at all times, he then started his journey on becoming a greater fighter than he already was. Placed in the ring against animals he had never seen or fought before to see if he could survive, the training he had been through first helped him remain calm as he learned his enemies' weakness, thus earning him the win. He had asked why he couldn't just fight Saiyans, but the King insisted that he already knew how to defeat his own species and needed to learn how to defeat others. This process was grooming him in the takeover of other planets. Learning their enemies quickly and efficiently only lead to a faster conquering, which the King ultimately wanted.
In the past, it would take the Saiyans a bit to be able to conquer a whole planet where the enemy was better evolved. With Goku's keen sense in finding a weakness, it quickened the process by almost half of the time it used to take them. The ironic thing was, all of the Saiyans went through the same training, but the results were never as fortunate as they were for him. The King knew he was a unique Saiyan and planned on keeping him around for a long while. At the rate they were going with Goku leading the King's troops, it was only a matter of time before they were the most elite race of them all.
After learning how to take out different species in the ring, he went back to a different environment to learn his groundings once again. Most of the time, Goku was isolated. The only other living being he ever encountered was the King throwing him in different rings to fight more unknown beasts or different environments to learn how to survive in any difficult place. He was alone, he had no one.
Years had gone by of the same training before he was finally able to train on his own planet with his own kind. It was awkward being back, the last time he had seen any them, he had just gotten done killing a bunch of them. The glares he received while training was intense. If he had to have a sparring partner, he could tell they were trying to actually kill him. It was a fight for his life every time he had to fight another Saiyan. But knowing how to defeat them and spotting each individuals weakness every time, he was always the victor.
Even in the training on Planet Vegeta, Goku still hadn't seen much of his brother Raditz. The King seemed he would be too much of a distraction for him, so he only ever saw him a couple times a month. Each time he had seen him, there was definitely bad blood. In his own training, Raditz was brought to the other Saiyan's side because he wanted to fit in and not be seen as a traitor like his brother was. They would constantly bad mouth Goku to him, that he grew a pure hatred towards him. His brother was dead set on not being hated like Goku was.
Whenever Goku was done training with the other Saiyans that were in his squad, the King would demand to train with him as well. The back to back training would have been tiresome on him if he hadn't just spent years of his life learning to overcome anything that was ever thrown at him and the well being of his body. The King was strong, always throwing him in his place, a feat that the other Saiyans were not even close to achieving. With their training sessions happening more often than not, it wasn't long until the king threw Goku into his first actual planet raid.
The other members in his squad were furious that he was getting to go conquer another planet with the seasoned Saiyans while they had to remain home. Having to ignore them, they set foot out to destroy another race. On this mission, the King himself tagged along to see how Goku would fare. When it came time to depart from their spaceships, the King insisted that he do it alone. As Goku hesitantly left the ship, he didn't know what to do. Hovering over the planet, looking down at the livelihood below, he didn't know the first thing in attacking innocent lives. Looking back up at the ship where his fellow comrades were, the King nodded at him to proceed. To this day Goku could remember the first thing he did when he focused his sights back on the unsuspecting planet: he closed his eyes and imagined his father leaving him once more. When his eyes shot back open, all of the rage was back inside of him as if it were the same day Bardock had left. Bringing both palms to his side, he began to summon his energy into a big ball, making several blasts at the planet.
He could still remember the fear and panic each being exuded off of themselves. In his raged state, he didn't care about any of them. Looking back on it now however, it was pure regret. He had let King Vegeta take him and train him into his own personal tool. It wasn't long before he took over his first planet. When he was finished, he looked back at the King who had a smile on his face that went from ear to ear. His product was finished, he had made exactly what he wanted: a monster.
Upon returning to their planet, he was welcomed with a congratulatory gaze from his fellow Saiyans. No one spoke a word to him, just nodded their heads in a "well done" manner. Each time Goku came back with a win, his race would get more and more enthusiastic towards him. It wasn't long until he stopped feeling the hatred that they all used to spew in his direction.
After a while, it seemed the King would put him on less and less missions. Only recently did he discover that it was because he was becoming stronger than him. The monster that he had created was better not knowing his strength and kept under wraps than to find out he was stronger and destroyed them all. It was then he was assigned to the prince.
Upon meeting him, he could tell that Prince Vegeta would be an absolute treat to work with. He was smaller in everything except for attitude. Knowing his past, Prince Vegeta had no problem whatsoever calling him by his birth name of Kakarot. He could see that the little shit wanted to feel in control and powerful. Goku knew that the Prince knew that there was nothing he could do about him calling him by that name, so he was going to have to get used to it. Without Vegeta knowing, he only cured him of the power that the name used to hold over him. Having to learn to control his rage every single time the Prince called him only made the effects that much less important to him. The Prince still felt like he had the upper hand, and Goku was cured of it; it was a win win situation. He'd never let anyone else know, wanting to keep the fear that the other Saiyans had present. He couldn't do anything to the Prince, but he sure could do something to anyone else.
Certainly, I felt alive
Strength I had lost was revived
I'm mending inside and we both know why
It wasn't long until the Prince grew tired of him being around all of the time. He was sure he could take care of himself, which he could, but with the King's orders outranking his, Goku was there to stay. He would spar with the Prince, making his time with him a little more bearable since this way he could legally hit him with no repercussions. Time and time again, Goku would make it appear to be a close match, but it never was. He could see the Prince's ego shattered each time he bested him. He began noticing a change in him, finding him training by himself more and more to try to get on his level. His practices were not in vain, showing his progress each time he was spar with him again. It wasn't enough to cause Goku to worry, though.
Another couple of years passed, before the Prince was finally catching up to him. With Goku's training being limited to only the Prince, his status remained the same, while the Prince himself got to do 24/7 training. It's like Goku had sparked a fire within the Prince, having beating him be the goal of his life it seemed. He wasn't bothered by it at all. The true change in the Prince was when he claimed he had mated for the first time. After that, he became an even bigger pain in his ass than normal. They never really spoke during all of the years of them training together, but after all of the testosterone and hormones the Prince was finally experiencing, that is when the conversations really started to flow.
After matches, the Prince would talk about the women he had been with the night prior or the morning of. He would describe in detail what he had done to them with no embarrassment at all. He didn't know why the Prince felt the need to tell him off of these things, maybe it was because he had no friends and needed an outlet, but whatever the reason was, Goku wasn't happy about being the one to have to listen about it.
It wasn't long until Goku asked Prince Vegeta what he had done to the girls when he was finished. That's when the situation really got weird. He would describe how he would end each one of their lives because he refused to share any of his women with anyone else. Once he had them, no one else was ever going to have them. The conversations were always very unpleasant, but he had no choice but to listen to it.
Once he started having sex and killing his human women, and they were always only human women, Prince Vegeta's fighting ability actually went up. There were a few times that he would genuinely catch Goku off guard and almost best him. It was then the Prince set Goku to watch over his personal human slave. Since Prince Vegeta was getting really close to beating him, he sent him away so he couldn't train anymore. His full-time job would be watching a girl.
At first, Goku was a bit angry in having to watch the troubled girl he had occasionally seen and heard about. She was spunky and intriguing for sure, but this was going to put a complete halt on his training. The King had approved the actions though, so there was nothing he could do about it. He had no idea that this girl would change his life forever.
'Cause you're mine
I knew I could be whole if you were mine
I'll vanquish any foe because you're mine
The car pulled up by the Salon as Goku put the phone in his pocket, waiting for the driver to get out and hand him the keys. Once in hand, he returned back into the Salon where Bulma remained in the chair, eyes fixated on the screen.
"Is she done?" Goku asked the stylist as he stood next to her, watching the screen as well
"Why yes she is, doesn't she look gorgeous?" He looked down at Bulma, grabbing the chair and turning it to face him. A smile formed on his face as he looked at his new platinum blonde woman.
"She always looks gorgeous." He walked towards her, grabbing her hand and helping her stand up. By simply complimenting her, it brought Bulma back into the moment. She looked up at him with her blue eyes, blushed and smiled.
"Thank you." She replied as she stood on her tiptoes to kiss him.
Not wanting to, but knowing it had to be done, he broke the kiss. Looking down at he, he began to walk with her hand in hand to the door. "Are you ready to meet your father?" He asked while holding the door open for her.
"I've been waiting my whole life to meet my dad." She smiled back at him while exiting the Salon. "Thank you so much for what you have done, we look great." She poked her head back into the Salon, thanking the hair stylist.
"Any time Hon, come back again!" She heard from inside as the door closed, making a barrier between them.
Leading her to the car, Goku opened up the door for her, helping her inside and shutting it behind her. Walking towards the driver side, he opened the door and stepped in. As they began to pull away, he could see that she was nervous still. Her hands were in her lap while she looked out the window as they drove. Taking a hand off of the wheel, he brought it over to her side, grabbing her hand and holding it over the center console of the vehicle. She grasped the hand firmly as her gaze remained at the scenes passing by.
He didn't speak to her, knowing there wasn't took much he could say right now that might help her prepare for the big moment. He knew she had so much going on inside her head already, that he wasn't going to risk putting new questions in there to avoid a system overload.
The drive wasn't long until they had finally reached their destination. Pulling up to the huge silver gates, Goku parked the car on the side of the road and turned the car off. Being far enough away from the city and into a secluded area, he knew it was safe to fly her over the gates since they didn't have a combination to make the gates open to bring the car in.
Opening the door for her, he picked her up in his arms, walked towards the brick part of the gate and hovered over it with ease. Setting her back down, they walked on the property by the lake until they came to a big house. Once they made it to the door, he looked down at his woman. She had been through a lot of things in her life, but he had never seen her this nervous. He knew she'd be able to handle it, though.
As she stood like a stone, Goku brought his hand to the doorbell and pressed it. You could hear a dimmed ring echo from the other side of the door. Now Bulma was really nervous. He could feel her shaking, her nervousness filling the air around them. This was the moment she was waiting for. This was the moment she never thought she'd ever have in her lifetime and now it was here. Footsteps began to come into earshot as they waited. A jolt came from Bulma when the doorknob jiggled from the other side. It seemed like the slowed knob twist the world had ever known. A creek filled the air as the door slowly opened.
"Who is it?" A man's voice asked before the door was all the way opened. Once the door was completely open, the man from the television was standing right in front of them. Goku looked down at Bulma to see her reaction: Tears of joy. "I wasn't expecting company today. How can I help you?" The man asked as he looked puzzled at the both of them.
"Dad?"
And alas the chapter is over. No music is ridiculous. I was distracted by too many things, but luckily not Youtube this time! If you're curious, the lyrics are to "You're Mine" by Disturbed. If you have not heard it, I beg you to do so!
Again, no one read what I wrote, and I didn't re-read what I had written so there are a ton of mistakes somewhere. As always, I would love your feedback, it keeps me alive and writing :D
