[ Y - Young Adult: Not suitable for readers under 16 ]

Author's Note Pt. 1: Oh my Kami! Ya'll don't know what I had to go through to update this chapter. I had to re-type it because after I was done with it like two days ago, my disk decided to be an ass and break on me. Anyhoo, enjoy.
C.S.S. - An Interesting Night Out
Bulma opened her compact to check her hair and makeup as she walked into the Vegetasei's Opal night club. She looked in the mirror slightly behind her to reveal a very nervous looking Kakkerot. She smiled. After almost a month of nothing but work, everyone finally got a day off, and Bulma learned that everyone who is everyone hangs out at the Opal Club. Bulma, Chi-Chi and Yaumcha decided to use this as a valuable opportunity to single out suspects and possibly find out valuable information. Yaumcha snuck in three hours before the club opened to put voice recorders under each table. They felt it was no use to put up cameras since they were going to be on the look out all night. Chi-Chi came a little later to test out the recorders and to get familiar with the club. Bulma sighed. So far, this mission has been boring and a pain thanks to her royal pain-in the-ass boss. She was brought back to reality as she and Kakkerot walked through the club doors and were greeted by blasting music and a few on-lookers.
“Are you sure I look OK? I don't feel right.” Kakkerot yelled over the music, although it sounded like a whisper. He fidgeted with the outfit Bulma picked out for him, a burgundy button down shirt, black slacks, and black shoes. Bulma felt the need to do something when Kakkerot was about to leave out in his guard uniform.
“For the last time, you look fine. Very handsome in fact.” Bulma smiled as she turned around and fixed his collar.
“Do you think Chi-Chi will like it?” Kakkerot said meaning to keep it to himself, and should have as his comment earned him a giggle and a pat on the chest by Bulma.
During the past month, Chi-Chi and Kakkerot had been spending a lot of time together. Sometimes he taught her fighting techniques and she taught his how to cook. He always looked forward to seeing her.
Bulma snapped her fingers in front of Kakkerot's face to regain his attention.
“OK, lover boy, I'm going to roam around a bit. I'll meet up with you later.”
“All right, if you need me, I'll be over at the bar. Hopefully Vegeta is there.”
As Kakkerot walked away, Bulma rolled her eyes at the mention of Vegeta. She walked through the crowd of people and finally found Chi-Chi and Yaumcha sitting at one of the private booths that outlined the dance floor.
“Bulma! Hurry up and sit down. We have a new break in our assignment.” Chi-Chi said. “And why are you so late? We've been here waiting on you for almost an hour!”
Bulma sat at the edge of the booth and managed to huff and smirk at the same time. :I was helping Kakkerot find something to wear. Now, what did I miss?”
Chi-Chi blushed at the mention of Kakkerot's name. “Well, just look straight ahead and over two booths.”
Bulma smacked her lips because it was hard to see through the crowd, but when she did, she was smiling from ear to ear at the sight before her. Who would of thought that Radditz, Dodoria, and Zarbon would all be together at the same place with them. “So, what's the plan?”
“We just sit and wait for the recordings. No need to make a scene.” Yaumcha said, crossing his arms.
Bulma rolled her eyes and Chi-Chi laughed. Yaumcha gave them a confused look.
“What?”
“You're so serious all the time. Lighten up.” Bulma said.
“We need to be on guard at all times, you know that and besides, we are here only for-”
“Blah, blah, blah. You need a life, a girlfriend, something. You're also sex deprived, do you know that? You are always working, why don't you play sometimes?” Bulma cut him off. Enough of this `all work and no play' bullshit.
Chi-Chi shook her head and walked away from the pair. They had this conversation at least once a week She agreed that Yaumcha was always way too serious about his job, but who was she to question his sex life? Chi-Chi walked through the crowded dance floor and stopped suddenly. There he was, sitting at the bar watching something on T.V. looking so innocent. She though he was cute, when she saw him at his worst, but at his best, she thought he was fine as hell. She fixed her dress and walked over to him. He didn't notice her standing in back of him, so she tapped his shoulder. He didn't turn around. She tapped again and he still didn't turn around. What the hell? Why didn't he respond? Maybe he didn't want to be bothered. She folded her arms and frowned as she leaned in to talk so he could hear.
“If you didn't want to be bothered, then why didn't you just say so.”
Kakkerot looked over his shoulder and saw Chi-Chi walking away. He instantly turned around, reached out and grabbed her arm.
“I didn't know you were behind me until I heard your voice. I'm sorry, Chi. I'm glad it was you though. I wasn't having a good time at all.”
Chi-Chi, who couldn't be mad at him for long, walked back to him and he pulled her into a hug. She rested her arms around his shoulders while he rubbed his hands lightly up and down her side. Chi-Chi knew that it was against the rules to mix business with pleasure, but she couldn't help it. He was just too much.
“So, this is where you all hang out on your day off, huh?” Chi-Chi said as she slid her hands from his shoulders. Kakkerot caught her hands and held them.
“Not me. I hate clubs.”
Chi-Chi tilted her head. “So, why are you here?”
“Well, Bulma asked if I wanted to go to the club and I said no because it's not my type of scene, but when she said that you were going to be here, I decided to come. I was going to ask you out on a date, but this works too.”
Chi-Chi innocently turned her gaze downward, then back up slowly. How sweet was this Saiyan man? She blushed.
“You look nice tonight, by the way.” Kakkerot said, referring to the pink spaghetti strapped dress that she was wearing. It had a black bow around the waist and it stopped just above her knees. She was going for the 50s Barbie doll look.
“Oh, this old thing?” Chi-Chi mentally slapped herself at the common corny line. “Thank you. You look nice also.”
Kakkerot chuckled softly, mentally patting himself on the back. He accomplished what he wanted to do.
“So about that date…” Chi-Chi started, but couldn't finish as she felt someone staring at them.
“Get a fucking room.”
Sure enough, Prince Vegeta was standing right in front of them.
“Hey, Vegeta,” Kakkerot said happily. “How long have you been standing there?”
“Long enough to see that you're going soft, Kakkerot.” Vegeta folded his arms.
Kakkerot ignored his statement, but let go of Chi-Chi's hands, which earned him a groan of disappointment from her.
“So, do you come here often, Vegeta?” Chi-Chi said.
“To this shithole? Of course not. I'd rather be training instead of mingling with common folk.”
`Oh my Kami, what an asshole!' “So, why are you here then?”
Kakkerot answered for him. “His father suggested that he get out more since time is approaching fast for him to choose a mate.”
“Oh, well why would you come here to choose a mate, since you don't like to be around us common folk?”
Kakkerot was shocked., but luckily Vegeta didn't hear her. “Please don't.” he whispered to Chi-Chi. “Trust me. Just let him do what he wants.”
Chi-Chi nodded, knowing that Kakkerot was right. She didn't feel like it tonight.
All of a sudden, the music stopped and a voice sounded through the club.
“Ok, Clubbers! You know what night it is, so you definitely know what time it is. The dance off! If you want to sign up, come to my DJ booth right now! I'll get the competition started in five minutes.”
Kakkerot chuckled, and caught Chi-Chi off guard.
“What's so funny?”
“I heard that these dance competitions are hilarious.”
“Why?”
“Saiyans can't dance. Can you imagine a bunch of big muscular men stomping over a dance floor?”
Chi-Chi thought about it, then laughed. “Yeah, I guess you're right.”
-----
Yaumcha was following the every moves of their three targets wondering what they were up to. He couldn't wait to get a hold of those tapes. Meanwhile, Bulma was getting excited by the announcement.
“Ooh, Yaumcha! Did you hear that?” She began tugging on his arm when she saw that he wasn't paying her any attention.
“Stop that.” He fussed as he pulled his arm away.
“Did you hear what I said, Yaumcha?”
“No.”
“Asshole.” She smacked his arm. “The DJ said that there is about to be a dance competition.”
“So? How does that help us?”
“It doesn't, idiot. I think we should enter.” She rolled her eyes.
“We are not here to play, Bulma. We are working.”
“Working? The voice recorders are doing all the work. All that we…well all that you are doing is watching them. I'm bored. Please?” She batted her eyes.
“No. Hell no!” He turned away from her. She definitely knew how to get him, but he wasn't giving in.
She kept asking and he was getting sick of her, then he got an idea. “Well you know, I would dance, but only to our song, and I know he doesn't have it.” That should shut her up.
“Really?!” She said rummaged through her purse and grabbed a CD. “That's great because I have a copy.”
“What the hell?” He was shocked. He didn't expect this at all. “How did you-?”
“I carry it around all the time.” She smiled. `You never know when the opportunity might present itself. C'mon before it's too late!” She grabbed his hand, and led him out the booth and over to the DJ booth. Damn, she got him again.
-----
As soon as the dance competition started, Chi-Chi and Kakkerot and Chi-Chi began to laugh. It started with snorts and grunts, then giggles, and now full out laughter. They were now on their sixth person and he had to be the worst, mixing disco with punk rock. They couldn't take it. This was hilarious. Vegeta on the other hand, wasn't enjoying himself. The laughter that was from his guard and that human woman was terribly annoying. He couldn't take it.
"Oh will you two shut up! It isn't that funny." He said, and then downed a shot of tequila.
"Grouch." Chi-Chi mumbled.
"Are you kidding Vegeta? This is a riot! I can't believe that you don't find this funny." Kakkerot said through his laughing.
Vegeta stood up. "It was a stupid idea to look for a mate at a night club. There is no potential to breed with here."
Chi-Chi rolled her eyes. "Then maybe you should look deeper into someone. Don't you want to fall in love?"
Now it was Vegeta's turn to laugh. "You are a very comical woman. Ever thought about being a Jester?"
Chi-Chi was about to cures at him when the announcer began to speak.
"Alright folks! Let's give Cabbitz another round of applause." He paused, but no one clapped. There was a sea of laughs though. "Damn! Tough crowd, huh? Well, let's lee how the next contestants do. We have a couple for the first time. Bulma and Yaumcha, you're up!"
Chi-Chi's eyes went wide. How in the hell did Bulma get Yaumcha to do this???
“She must be really comfortable to embarrass herself, huh?” Kakkerot said.
Chi-Chi shook her head. “No, she can actually dance.”
“Really? Hey, that guy looks familiar. Where have I seen him before?”
“He's a janitor at the Palace.”
He snapped his fingers. “That's right. The new guy.”
The music started and Bulma and Yaumcha began to dance. Salsa dancing was what they loved and the only time where Yaumcha let loose. Sometimes, Bulma thought this type of provocative dancing was the closest he has come to sex since his last relationship and that was three years ago. Still, it made him a better dancer and kept him as good as his partner.
The club was completely silent as they danced. It was definitely something that Saiyans had never experienced.
Vegeta was all in. He couldn't believe the way her body could move during this `forbidden dance'. She was wearing a black halter like dress that flared every time she twirled around. When she was dipped. His eyes stayed glued to her bosom and when she put he leg on her partner's thigh, he couldn't help but want to be in his shoes. She looked absolutely delicious.
Vegeta wasn't the only one starting at Bulma. At the table in question, Zarbon was paying more attention to her then to the conversation that he was conducting.
“Zarbon, won't you finish your damn sentence before going into lala land. Shit!” Dodoria said angrily and slammed his fist on the table. This got Zarbon's attention.
“Ah, you're not looking at what I'm looking at my friend.” Zarbon said as he pointed in the direction of the dancing couple. “She's hot.”
Dodoria shrugged his shoulder. He was there for one reason and one reason only. Radditz sucked his teeth.
“That's Prince Vegeta's new guard. That bitch tried to call me out today.”
“Hmm…” Zarbon hummed as he scratched his smooth babyface. “I want her. Too bad she won't be around long. I could use a sex slave. Maybe we could leave her behind?”
“Hell no! I want her to be one of the first that we get rid of. She could be trouble.”
“Who cares.” Dodoria said, cutting in. “We have unfinished business to discuss, and that was not apart of the agenda. Now back to work!”
As the music died down, Bulma and Yaumcha had a fabulous ending. Everyone clapped, and of course, the DJ voted them the winners. When the music started up again, people started to crowd the dance floor again. Bulma and Yaumcha started to exit the floor when someone grabbed her arm. She turned around quickly and was greeted by an angry, scowling face.
`Oh, Kami...' she thought. `I really don't feel like dealing with him tonight.'
“What the hell were you doing?” Vegeta snapped.
“What are you talking about?”
“Out here. You were practically having sex!”
Bulma laughed. “It was just dancing, Vegeta. Calm down.”
“I will not! I will have no guard of mine behaving in such a way!”
She tried to avoid an argument. “Do you know how to dance, Vegeta?”
He frowned. “No.”
"Do you want to learn?"
"Hell no!"
She rolled her eyes. "Oh lighten up! Here, I'll show you how it's really simple."
Bulma moved in closer to Vegeta and he stepped back. She moved in again, but this time she grabbed his hand and put it on her waist. She took his other hand in hers and put her arm around his neck. "Now, move with me slowly." she whispered in his ear.
Vegeta didn't want to move. As much as he hated to admit it, her petite figure felt good in his arms, and as she began to sway her hips on him, he thought he was going to loose it. How could she have such an effect on him?
"You're doing ok." Bulma said as she noticed the confused look on his face. Little did she know, he wasn't concerned about his dancing at all.
"Dancing is not a priority for me. And besides, I have more important things to focus on."
"Like what?"
"Like you."
This caught Bulma totally off guard, especially with the almost sexy tone of voice he was using.
"I don't know know anything about you, other than you having a big mouth." he teased.
She smiled. He was trying to loosen up. "Ok, well I'm 21. I'm an only child, and I graduated from college really young. I majored in science and technology. It was all I grew up around since my father is a Scientist. Let's see,I'm single and-"
"No surprise there. I'm sure no man would put up with your attitude."
She frowned. "That's not true. I work all the time so I don't have time for a relationship."
"What did you do before this?"
Bulma hesitated. She wasn't expecting him to ask that. "I-I was a dance instructor."
"Interesting."
"How so?"
"I was expecting you to say that you were also a Scientist."
"Oh. I know, it's weird." She gave a nervous laugh and Vegeta took notice, but didn't elaborate on it. It didn't matter.
"Well, I hope that you are a good judge of character, because you will be choosing my mate soon."
"Yeah, about that...don't you think you would be better picking a mate yourself?"
"I don't have the time."
She laughed. "All you do is train and occasionally sit in on a meeting."
"That's more than enough."
Bulma shook her head. "This is a very important decision. A decision that you should take part in."
Vegeta tries to speak, but Bulma continued. "You need to meet and talk to some women, then narrow them down until you find the right one for you."
"All I have to do is mate, have a child, then I can take the throne as King. I'm not interested in anything else."
"That's horrible. I could never do that."
"Do what?"
"Just marry for circumstances. I believe in marrying for love, not power."
"Well, that's why you're not me, ne?"
She rolled her eyes. This man was unbelievable. "Yeah, well I need to get back to the palace now."
"For what reason? The night is still young."
"I know. But I have to work tomorrow."
"Work?"
"Yes work. Something that you know nothing about."
Vegeta smirked at her sarcasm. "Obviously, you are doing something on the side because you do nothing as my guard."
Bulma opened her mouth, then closed it when nothing came out. He was right, but she didn't want him to get any ideas, so how could she voice a good comeback?"
"I do more as your guard than you know. Goodnight Prince Vegeta."
Without another word, Bulma turned on her heels and walked right out the door. She didn't even tell her partners that she was leaving. Vegeta shook her up tonight. For some reason, it was hard for her to lie to him. Why? It wasn't like she was being suspicious because he was nowhere to be found while she did her C.S.S. work, but still. Hopefully he would leave her alone, especially tonight so that she could collect herself. But the question still remained. Why did she allow him to get to her?

Chi-Chi and Yaumcha sat in their booth and watched the occupants in the club leave one by one. Their suspects were long gone, but they couldn't get their recorders until the coast was clear. Kakkerot seemed to be waiting around for Chi-Chi and while she wasn't paying it any attention, Yaumcha was.
"Chi-Chi, I think that guy is waiting for you."
"Huh? What guy?"
"The guy you were at the bar with earlier."
"Ohh. You mean Kakkerot. I'll tell him to leave."
"Maybe you should just go with him.
“No. Because we have to get these recorders.”
“Well, I think it will be better if you just leave with him because we don't need anyone wondering what we are up to. And he was with the Prince, so you never know what could happen. We actually want to complete this assignment.”
Chi-Chi sighed. “Oh ok. I'll just see you tomorrow so that we can go over these tapes.” With that, she walked over to Kakkerot and they left out the door. Turns out, he was waiting for her. He was trying to be a gentlemen and walk her home. Under any other circumstance, it would have been a sweet gesture, but tonight, it was more of a bother because she hated to leave Yaumcha alone. Although she hated to admit this, their friendship/relationship may be a problem.
After the last couple left the club, five minutes later Yaumcha began to collect the recorders. Although they were small, they were almost too many to carry with just his hands. He only had to collect two more and then he could go back to the palace. As he bent down to grab the last one, he felt breath on his neck, so he immediately dropped the recorders, turned around and took a defense stance. He was fuming when he saw who it actually was.
"Hello Yaumcha!" Telina chimed.
"What the hell are you doing here?"
"Well, it is a club and I like to dance so that's why I'm here. I saw you dancing. You were really good. Was that your girlfriend you were dancing with?"
:Listen, I don't have time for this." he snapped. "I really need to get going." He then started picking up the recorders.
Trelina bent down. "Here let me help."
"No! You almost made me break them as it is."
Trelina to ignore his rudeness. "What are they for anyway?"
"Dammit! That's none of your business. Stop trying to get personal with me. We are CO-workers and we will be nothing more than that. Now excuse me. I must get going."
Yaumcha stood and walked out of the door quickly. He didn't want her to ask him anymore questions. He felt really bad for the way he treated her, but it was business and business comes before feelings.
Trelina however just stared in his direction. What was his problem? Ever since they met, he always seemed so uptight, rude, and mean. She was ashamed because she had a crush on him and was actually going to invite him out to dinner, but now she knew that he really wasn't interested.

Bulmalaid across her bed. She has been meaning to be on her way to thelab for almost an hour now.Yaumcha let her know that he dropped off the recorders at the lab for her to start analyzing them ASAP. he was going to come later to finish up. She yawned. She really didn't feel like going, instead, she just stayed in her position, staring at the ceiling listening to her favorite love song through her headphones.
'Day to day and each night I pray that this ends
That there's someone out there that's gonna melt my heart away
And take me to another place
From the loneliness that's driving me insane
I get so cold summer feels like the winter
When I'm at home, all alone I just cry
I wish that I could just lie like I'm happy

But I can't hide this hurt inside
But I'll tell you someday I'm gonna find
A guy that's gonna change my life
And I tell you one day just wait and see
True love is waiting out there for me...'
As Bulma really listened to the lyrics, it finally hit her why Vegeta was getting under her skin so much. She never had a boyfriend and she's never been in love. Her life has beennon-stop hectic with school and work. Work never allowed her to have a love life because she was always on the move and always investigating something. She never had time for herself, her needs, andmost importantly, her happiness. Vegeta was taking for granted what she never had but wanted so badly. How could he be so nonchalant about his future wife? What happened to dating? What happened to falling in love the old fashioned way? He just expects to find a nice looking piece of ass, fuck her, marry her, and the rest would be history. Could you really be with someone like that forever? She was so deep into her thoughts that she didn't hear the knocks at her door.
Vegeta banged on Bulma's door for the third time and was starting to get irritated. He knew she was in the room because he heard her moving around. After the fourth time, he just walked in. She was laying on her bed with her eyes closed and wearing a white tank top and matching panties. She put her hair up into a ponytail and she was wearing headphones. No wonder she didn't answer the door she couldn't hear. As he walked closer, he studied her face. He lips were moving and he noticed a tear fall from her eyes. Interesting, he thought. Could this hard ass female who tried to be his equal, be soft? He sat on the bed and her eyes immediately shot open and looked in his direction. She yelped, remembering that she had on only her underwear and jumped under her covers.
"What are you doing in my room!" She snapped while pulling the covers up to her neck.
I knocked. You didn't answer, so I walked in."
"You can't just walk into someone's room."
"Yes I can."
"How do you figure?"
"Because I am the Prince. I can do whatever I want, whenever I feel like it."
Bulma cringed. The arrogance of this man was making her sick. "So, what did you want?"
"Why were you crying?"
"What? I wasn't crying."
He reached his hand out and wiped the liquid from her eye. "Foolish woman, yes you were. What is wrong with you?"
Bulma actually didn't realize that she was crying. She ended up dropping her guard and letting him see it. This was bad. He was also acting very out of character. This wasn't like him.
"There is nothing wrong with me. Why did you come into my room?"
"Because I wanted you to come up with an idea to find myself a mate."
Bulma sighed. "I'm not on duty right now, Vegeta. Can't we talk about this later?" She turned her back to him and snuggled further into her covers.
"Later like when?"
"Later like never."
Vegeta stiffened at her emotionless tone. "What the hell is your prob-"
"Damn, Vegeta. I don't want to choose a mate for you. Don't you want to know what it's like to feel for another? To love someone?"
"Love someone?" He chuckled. "I told you already, I'm not interested in any of that mess."
Bulma sat up to face him. "Don't you want someone to care for you? To touch you." She said the last statement quietly as she reached out to stroke his face. He was too shocked to move. "You don't know what you would be missing out on."
Bulma couldn't let go of his face. His skin was so soft and without even thinking any further, she leaned in and kissed him. He didn't respond at first, but when she kissed him again, he responded by slowly sticking his tongue in her mouth. Her lips felt so good to Vegeta and all of his thoughts were gone for a split second, then when he realized what was happening, he pushed her away, stared into her beautiful, confused eyes, then walked out her room without looking back.
As soon as the door closed, she hid under her covers, cursing herself for what she did. How awkward would things be between them now?
