Planet Earth: 23 years later........
"Nikki! You're late again girl!" came a male voice.
"I know Darryl, why do you think I'm running?" asked the black haired woman as she rushed to the meeting that had begun without her.
"....and Nicole, you will be running the press fit machine today. Sally is out sick, so um....Mark you will take over Nicole's duty on the end of the wash." Everyone got it?" the short man leading the meeting said looking around. "All right let's do it."
Everyone dispersed to go to their assigned job for the day. Mark and Nicole made their way to their job stations exchanging small talk......
"So I was flipping through the channels and I came across the cartoon channel and the coolest cartoon was on, it was called Dragon Ball Z, and there was a lot of fighting and cool stuff like that. I think you should watch it and decide for yourself but I think you'll like it." Mark said as they got everything ready for the start of the shift. "I know that you're really into martial arts and stuff and you speak Japanese rather well, it's Japanime like Sailor Moon but a lot more action packed. It comes on at 5:30 on channel 38."
"Alright if I agree to watch it will you leave me alone about it until I can join in on the conversation tomorrow?" Nikki asked as she started work.
"Sure but you have to promise to give me an honest answer as to whether you liked it or not tomorrow." Mark answered with a small grin.
"Sure I promise. Now let's get this morning of hell over with." Nikki answered.
3:30 P.M.............................................. Quitting time..................................................................
"Hey Nikki!" came Mark's voice as the young black haired woman swiped her badge through the time clock.
"Yeah, Mark?" she called back turning to face the thin Oriental boy.
"Don't forget to watch that show today," he answered as he too swiped his badge to clock out.
"Yeah, yeah. I'll watch it." Nikki said as she walked outside to her van and proceeded to head home. "Thank Kami! I thought I'd go nuts if he said one more thing about that damn T.V. show. Time to go get my Katie cakes!"
10 minutes later Nikki pulled her van into the driveway of her baby-sitter Leona's house.
"Leona? I'm here!" Nikki called as she entered the small brick house.
"In the kitchen, Nick. I'm just finishing up the last of the dishes from lunch." a soft voice called from the other room.
Nikki grinned as she made her way into the kitchen, Leona was always in the kitchen doing one thing or another. Stepping into the cozy kitchen Nikki looked the other woman over, she had a petite figure that was probably killer in her younger years but still fit for a woman of 52, salt-and-pepper shoulder length hair and a small set of spectacles perched on the bridge of her small snub nose. Today the older woman wore a cotton sun dress that was a dark navy blue and a pair of matching strap sandles.
"Afternoon Mom." Nikki said as she placed a kiss on her adopted mother's cheek.
"Oh, Nikki. You know ever since Charles and I told you about being adopted it makes me feel good to hear you call me 'Mom'." Leona said giving her daughter a hug.
"I know, you and Dad were so good to me when I was growing up that I can't help but think of you two as my parents. Who ever my real parents were, they must not have cared if they put me up for adoption when I was a baby." Nikki said truthfully.
"Well dear that's not exactly the way it went but it's the same idea." Leona said.
"What do you mean 'not exactly'?" she asked as a cold feeling came over her.
"Well...." Leona answered hesitantly. "Charles and I found you.....in the back yard. And you were so cute that we couldn't give you up. We checked all of the hospitals and called the police to see if someone had reported a missing child in this town and in the next three counties, but when nothing came up we had Dr. John write up a birth certificate to say that you were our daughter and so that we could put you in school when you got older." her adopted mother confessed.
"I don't believe you! You and Dad lied to me again! After you told me I felt so lucky to have parents like you who cared enough to tell me the truth and now I find out that for the last 10 years you lied to me again! This is too much, where is Katie, I gotta go. I won't be back for a few days, I'll need time to cool off." Nikki growled as she waited for Leona to tell her where Katie was.
"Dear, we couldn't tell you this before! We think that you may not even be from this planet! Have you ever wondered why you only ever saw Dr. John? Or why you have a tail and we don't? Hell even Katie has a tail! You were never sick, you were always faster then all the other kids, you never got hurt hell Dr. John broke three needles trying to take a blood sample because you were tense! Or why your hair stands up in a pinwheel shape whenever it's down from that damnable braid? Has none of that ever crossed your mind? Go home and think about it and when you can think and act rationally come back." Leona shot back causing Nikki to go pale.
"I don't want to talk about this now. Where is Katie, I've got things to do." Nikki said in a hollow voice.
"Nikki, I'm so-" Leona started
"NO! Where is my daughter?! I'm leaving NOW!" Nikki roared, her tail twitching to get out from under her shirt.
"She's in the bedroom playing with her toys." the older woman answered softly.
Nikki stormed out of the room before her adopted mother could see her tears."Katie! Momma's big girl! Where's my Katie?" Nikki called playfully, in an attempt to stay calm for her daughter.
"Momma! Momma!" cried a young voice as a small blond haired blue eyed girl came flying out of the bedroom and launching herself into her mother's arms.
"Hey baby, were you a good girl for Grandma?" Nikki asked her four year old angel.
"Katie's not a baby, momma. Katie's a big girl! I use the potty and I'm good at grandma's house." Katie answered.
"Oh, mommy forgot. Katie the Big Girl. Alright Katie the Big Girl are you ready to go home and watch cartoons with momma?" Nikki asked
"Sure, can I take my bear?" Katie asked, stalling for time.
"Alright but you gotta be sure to bring it back when we come back to grandma's, okay?"
"OK!" Katie jumped down from her mother's embrace and running back in the bedroom for her toy.
"Mom, I'm not going to work for the next few days, so don't expect to see us for awhile." Nikki said not looking at Leona.
When Katie came back out of the room Nikki picked her up and carried her to the car, strapped her in and they were off.
20 minutes later Nicole pulled the van into the parking lot of their apartment complex, having stopped at McDoodles for dinner, Katie and Nikki made their way into their apartment.
"Momma can we watch Moon Power, when I'm eating my chicken nuggets?" Katie asked as her mother turned on the T.V.
"Alright hon, you can watch Sailor Moon while you eat but then we're gonna watch a new show, okay?" Nikki answered setting food down in front of her daughter.
Nikki and Katie sat and watched Sailor Moon and ate their food, when Sailor Moon went off another cartoon came on and Nikki went to take a shower before Dragon Ball Z came on.
She gathered her favorite pair of black spandex shorts and her baby blue tank top as well as her unmentionables and went to take a shower.
Turning the water on and adjusting the temperature, Nikki thought about everything her mother had said as she started her shower.
(Do they really think I'm some kind of alien? It's true what she said, I've never been hurt except when I was having Katie and Dr. John delivered her and he's not even an OBGYN, he's a bone surgeon. So what that Kate and I have tails, Dr. John said that it's common for some people to have an elongated spine. As for why my hair standing up in a pinwheel shape......uh.....I guess I've always got bed head. I'm still pissed and I'm gonna miss out on sparing with Kevin but I can't leave Katie here. I'll just have to do some shadow boxing tonight to calm me down enough to sleep.)
Turning off the water and drying off, Nikki's thoughts were still in an uproar but shaking it off, Nikki got dressed not bothering to tie her hair back up and went to watch T.V. with her daughter.
"Momma, Dragon Ball Z is on!" Katie called from the living room, the opening credits had just gone off when Nikki entered the room...............................................
Dragon Ball Z Universe..........After the Defeat of Freeza....... Goku
* Nikki is watching the episode like it showed on T.V., I'm just giving you guys a view into what Goku goes through before we can tie the two worlds together*grins*
(I've just left Planet Yardat, those guys are so weird. I never thought I'd ever meet someone who could out eat me, and they have a whole planet full of them! It sure is great to be going home though, ChiChi and Gohan will be so happy to see me. I sure miss everybody.)
"Goku!" came a high pitched voice.
"Huh? King Kai ? Is that you?" Goku asked looking around the cockpit of his small pod.
"Yes Goku it's me, um... I've got a mission for you." King Kai said timidly.
"Aw man! I was on my way home to see Gohan and ChiChi! Can't it wait?" Goku pouted.
"No, your twin can't wait!" King Kai yelled.
"WHAT!? I've got a TWIN?! Cool where is he?" Goku exclaimed, a huge smile on his face.
"Uh, that's what I need you to do." King Kai said
"What do you mean?" Goku asked a slight frown of confusion making it's way across his face.
"Well, my sources say that your twin is on Earth but in a different dimension from yours, so I need you to use that new trick you learned from the Yardatjins and go get 'em" King Kai said.
"Alright but, can I go home after that?" Goku asked.
"Yes but you'll have to go back to your ship and ride the rest of the way home." King Kai said.
"What does his ki signature feel like?" Goku asked
King Kai let Goku feel the signature and Goku concentrated and vanished.
Back to Nikki...................................................................... .......................................................................
Disturbed. Confused. Disbelief. All these things and more, is what Nikki felt as she watched the cartoon. One of the characters had a tail! And another one had hair like hers! Saiyans, that is what they were calling themselves.
The show was just going off when someone started knocking on the door, and not thinking about anything other than the show she had just watched, Nikki was slow to answer the door. When the constant pounding finally registered in her brain she rushed to the door and jerked it open.
"May I help you?" Nikki asked staring at the stranger in her door way.
"Uh, I was looking for my brother but I guess he's not here." the large man said sounding kind of depressed.
Nicole stood taking in the stranger's appearance when one thing stood out to her.....his hair.
"Well what does he look like? I know everyone in the building, maybe I could help you." Nikki offered.
"Well he should look just like me, King Kai said that I had a twin." the man answered.
"Well I don't usually do this but, would you like to come in?" Nikki asked nervously.
"Sure! That would be great!" the stranger said with a huge grin.
Nikki stepped back from the door tole him in when Katie came to the door.
"Wow Momma! He's tall!" Katie exclaimed, her small brown tail wagging behind her.
"You guys are the ones I'm looking for!" the man exclaimed, grabbing up Katie and Nikki in a bear hug.
"What are you talking about?" Nikki asked as she pulled herself and Katie out of the man's embrace.
"You guy's are Saiyans! Wow, I thought King Kai meant that I had a brother, but instead I have a sister." the stranger said happily.
"Huh? Who the hell are you?" Nikki demanded.
"I'm Goku, but Vegeta calls me Kakarott. What are your names?" Goku answered.
"I'm Nicole and this is Katie. How the hell do you get that we are the ones that you're looking for?" Nikki asked as she backed up further allowing Goku in her apartment.
"You guys have tails and your hair looks kinda like mine." Goku answered truthfully.
"And that immediately means that we're the ones you're looking for? There could be someone else who looks like this." Nikki countered.
"Are there?" Goku asked, confused.
"Well.....no, not that I've seen but,-" Nikki sputtered
"Then you are the one I'm looking for. And I've got a niece to boot! Are you ready to go home?" Goku asked.
"Huh? We are home, what are you talking about?" Nikki asked it was her turn to be confused.
"Well I just came long enough to bring you back to our dimension, is that ok? You don't belong here, you ended up in the wrong dimension somehow and now it's time to go home." Goku said.
"Uh, Katie what do you think? Do you want to go on an adventure?" Nikki asked feeling kind of out of it due to information overload.
"Sure Momma, can I take my bear? And some of my toys?" Katie asked.
Nikki looked at Goku and waited for his nod of approval.
"Sure, honey. Let Momma get your stuff ready. Goku go ahead and make yourself something to eat while you wait, we'll be back in a minute." Nikki said off handedly.
Nikki packed some clothes and toys for Katie and herself before going to her wall safe to pull out her emergency money and all other valuables that she had.
"Hey Goku I'm gonna have to go to the bank to clean out my account before we go alright?" Nikki asked as she plopped her bags down by the door.
"Alright but you won't need it cause Bulma's rich and you'll probably end up staying with her until I can build you and Katie a room." Goku answered.
"Be that as it may, I probably will not be coming back here right? So I need to take everything that I want." Nikki argued as she loaded up her arms with her and Katie's stuff. "Let's go to the bank and then we'll go to wherever it is you are taking us."
"Alright, can I come with you?" Goku asked.
"Of course you're coming with us, do you think that I'd leave you here in my house alone?" Nikki asked incredulously.
Goku grinned and put his hand behind his head, " Sorry, but ChiChi usually won't let me go to town with her 'cause she says that I cause too much trouble."
"ChiChi? Is that your wife or something?" Nikki asked.
"Yes, actually I was on my way home when King Kai told me to pop in and get you." Goku answered.
"You'll have to introduce me to him when we get there but, for right now let's go to the bank." Nikki said as she led them all outside to her van.
They went to the bank with Goku sitting in the back playing with Katie, when they were done there they returned to Nicole's apartment and gathered up the suitcases.
Nikki lifted Katie up into her arms and Goku put his hand on her shoulder, in a flash they were gone.

"Well I just came long enough to bring you back to our dimension, is that ok? You don't belong here, you ended up in the wrong dimension somehow and now it's time to go home." Goku said.
"Uh, Katie what do you think? Do you want to go on an adventure?" Nikki asked feeling kind of out of it due to information overload.
"Sure Momma, can I take my bear? And some of my toys?" Katie asked.
Nikki looked at Goku and waited for his nod of approval.
"Sure, honey. Let Momma get your stuff ready. Goku go ahead and make yourself something to eat while you wait, we'll be back in a minute." Nikki said off handedly.
Nikki packed some clothes and toys for Katie and herself before going to her wall safe to pull out her emergency money and all other valuables that she had.
"Hey Goku I'm gonna have to go to the bank to clean out my account before we go alright?" Nikki asked as she plopped her bags down by the door.
"Alright but you won't need it cause Bulma's rich and you'll probably end up staying with her until I can build you and Katie a room." Goku answered.
"Be that as it may, I probably will not be coming back here right? So I need to take everything that I want." Nikki argued as she loaded up her arms with her and Katie's stuff. "Let's go to the bank and then we'll go to wherever it is you are taking us."
"Alright, can I come with you?" Goku asked.
"Of course you're coming with us, do you think that I'd leave you here in my house alone?" Nikki asked incredulously.
Goku grinned and put his hand behind his head, " Sorry, but ChiChi usually won't let me go to town with her 'cause she says that I cause too much trouble."
"ChiChi? Is that your wife or something?" Nikki asked.
"Yes, actually I was on my way home when King Kai told me to pop in and get you." Goku answered.
"You'll have to introduce me to him when we get there but, for right now let's go to the bank." Nikki said as she led them all outside to her van.
They went to the bank with Goku sitting in the back playing with Katie, when they were done there they returned to Nicole's apartment and gathered up the suitcases.
Nikki lifted Katie up into her arms and Goku put his hand on her shoulder, in a flash they were gone.
