Common Differences
It was a normal day...well, as normal a day can be in the center of the universe. Most of the many moons were out, making the day bright on Kaioshin-Kai. The birds were chirping, butterflies were dancing in the air, and the waters teemed with fish life. Asleep and laying with his back propped against a tree was Kaiobit while Old Kai lurked in the distance reading a magazine that was not meant for young, or rather any, children or teenager. Kaiobit's lips turned upward in a small smile from the apparently good dream he was having, though later he would not recall what that dream was about.
As Old Kai was awake and in the middle of turning of a page of his magazine, he was the first to feel the power disturbance in the Northern Quadrant of the universe. His head turned quickly to the North just as Kaiobit woke with a start from the disturbance. The younger Kai irritably brushed his long, straight white hair from his face as his head also turned North.
"What an ood disturbance. I've never felt this particular power before," Kaiobit said as a crystal ball manifested within his hand. He looked down at it to see the location of where the disturbance originated.
Nothing.
Nothing, that is, except an almost closed portal that quickly sealed itself and left a ripple where it had been for a few seconds. Whoever had been there must have used Instant Transmission...
Kaiobit closed his eyes as he searched for the ki that he had felt at the portal. He sighed when he failed to find it. Whoever it was must have either been rather weak, or could mask their ki. He had a feeling it was the latter. He opened his eyes to find his elder looking down at him with his arms behind his back. His gaze went to the crystal ball for several moments, as if studying the now quiet part of space where the strange portal had been.
"That energy was very strange indeed. I've never felt anything like it in all my years here."
"Sir, what do we do? I can't find the ki of whoever entered. They could be anywhere!" Kaiobit became nervous as he looked back down to the ball. As his thoughts traveled, the crystal began showing planet after planet with sentient life in the Northern Quadrant. The last planet to appear showed up as mostly blue and floated serenely in space. Earth.
"Well, might as well start in the most likely place," Old Kai began to stretch as he spoke, his expression giving away what he was thinking about.
"..Venerable elder, I think it may be wise for you to remain here...I mean no offense, but you may be in danger if this person becomes a threat," Kaibit hoped the old one would give in peacefully. He was trying to do Earth two favors at once, both to the people and more specifically to the women.
"But while you're searching with those Saiyans as I'm sure you're thinking of doing, someone should stay behind on Earth to protect the ladies!" Old Kai's face set into an expression that meant he wasn't going to be easily swayed from his decision. As certain thoughts popped into his head, he began to drool unpleasantly at the corners of his mouth.
Kaiobit coughed to take the Old Kai's attention from the guaranteed to be perverted thoughts and a serious expression set itself on his face.

The ground was dry and very brown. The sun glared brightly at anything that had the misfortune of not being in shelter, which was probably why very little grew in the hot, mountainous area. The closest source of water was a good half hour of tortured walking, fifteen at a not-much-improved flying pace. In fact, flying was probably worse since in addition to the heat was the moving through dry, hot breezes that did anything but cool anyone off.
Why she chose this location out of any to appear, she didn't know. The sun burned on her back, but she shivered from a coldness that even the oppressing heat couldn't get rid of. Yet the danger was gone, for the moment anyway. Her eyes closed as she took a deep breath and slowly let it out. First off, she'd have to find a more habitable area. Sweat was forming on her forehead from the stifling heat her clothes were absorbing. She concentrated on a place with few ki's, but with enough to hopefully send her someplace more comfortable. The only thing that witnessed the arrival and disappearing of a female Kai was a small, green lizard who had its mind on wondering where those darn crickets it heard earlier went.

'Now this is much better,' she thought happily as she appeared on a green meadow that was dotted with wild flowers and the occasional cow. She was on top of a giant hill as she surveyed her surroundings. A frown appeared on her lips as she wondered where and how she'd make a temporary shelter. Her answer came when she spotted an old, broken looking shack. Her feet came a few feet off the ground before she flew towards the pitiful building. A slight smile appeared on her lips as she walked inside to find nothing. The thing seemed to just be four dirty walls, a rectangle hole for a door, a square window hole with no glass, and a sagging roof with many holes.
"With a little help, this'll be perfect for the time being." She snapped and the four walls were replaced by new, sturdy white walls. A plain brown door appeared in its hole, and glass filled the window hole. The roof was replaced with new, black tiles. With another snap came a mattress and light blanket, a candle lamp, and a small desk with a chair.
She sank down onto the mattress and laid on her back with a sigh. Her body was short, about an inch shorter than the Surpreme Kai's original body. Her hair was white like most Kai's, and framed her face inthe front while the back ended just below her shoulder blades. Her skin was tan, and her eyes black. A slightly jagged scar ran from the right side of her forehead over the bridge of her nose to her left cheek. She sighed, turning over to her side which caused her medium blue vest to strain slightly. A short sword sheathed at her waist fell over her front and a tear shaped silver pendant on a silver chain laid on the mattress. She closed her eyes and fell asleep a few moments later.

Cars moved along like a multicolored river, horns sounding out every few seconds during the rush hour traffic jam. Multileveled buildings rose towards the sapphire colored sky, the metal ones glinting in the sunlight and being harsh to the eyes.
Just outside the gates of West City a tall, lavender man appeared. The first prson to find was Goku, however, he sensed the Super Saiyan's ki with Vegeta's at Capsule Corp. He decided to appear at the entrance to the city so that he could have another chance to try to find the ky of whoever made the portal...
Nothing.
