Confusing Feelings

Chapter 2: Vegeta's … feelings?

A/N: Hi! This is me again! Here's the second chapter of this fanfict. So far I've only received 1 review. Please guys, I really mean it, REVIEW, otherwise I won't know if you liked it or not. If you didn't, there's not point for me to keep on writing.

Anyway, in this chapter you'll discover that Bulma isn't the only one with confusing thoughts. It's mostly from Vegeta's POV.

I hope you guys are gonna like this chapter. I worked really hard on it!

Disclaimer: I don't own Dragon Ball Z or any of the characters (god, this is so annoying!).

'Why is the woman taking so long? What the hell's wrong with her? I'm famished!'

Vegeta had been waiting for supper for over an hour now. He knew that something was wrong with Bulma because earlier, when he got up to train, she was already at the kitchen. She never woke so early, if she did, she certainly didn't go to the kitchen and sat by herself all morning. He knew her better than anyone would have ever thought. Since his bedroom was just next to hers, he knew pretty much everything that happened next door.

Most of the time he always complained about being so close to her chambers. She always managed to do more noise than necessary, which only caused him to wake up at any hour of the morning, especially when Yamcha decided to stay for the night.

This morning, however, he knew something wasn't right with her. He had felt her presence near the entrance of the kitchen for a few moments now. What was she doing? Was she afraid to enter the room?

'Something definitely isn't right with this woman!'

Suddenly Bulma came in and made a mad dash to the cupboards. She quickly took from the fridge all the ingredients that she was gonna use, and a frying pan. Meanwhile, Vegeta was staring. Something had gotten into her. Usually she would come in, say hello, he would insult her, and their daily verbal fight would begin. Since she didn't say anything, he decided to start talking.

"What took you so long?"

Bulma just shrugged a little.

"I asked you something woman! Answer!"

This time, she turned her head a little, in order to see him better. Her clear blue eyes were watery, her cheeks were a deep shade of pink, and she was trembling. Soon she opened her mouth and started to shout.

"IT'S NOT LIKE YOU CARED ANYWAY!!!"

Vegeta couldn't believe it. For once he was trying not to be too mean. Why was she so enraged?

"I never said I cared about you! I only wanted to know what was it that you were doing that made me wait for my lunch so long!"

"I don't even know why I put up with you! I try to be nice to you, give you shelter, cook for you, have the Gravity Machine at your disposition and the only things I get are insults and bad tempers from you! Could you at least try to shut that hole on your face once in your life?????"

Neither Bulma nor Vegeta could believe their ears. She could believe that she had just told him that. If she hadn't been so tired and confused she wouldn't have cared. It was only one more insult out of the million ones she had told him. What bothered her was that their verbal sparring match had started for real. What she had tried to avoid had happened.

Vegeta, couldn't believe it. Somewhere inside of him he knew that most of what she had just said was true. But his ego didn't let him see that. His pride had been attacked and now he needed to defend it.

"How dare you speak like that woman? Don't you know who I am? I'm the Prince of …." He began before being interrupted.

"…of all Saiyans!" She finished for him. " I perfectly know who you are. And stop saying that you're a prince. A prince certainly wouldn't be so rude and mean. And above all, your planet doesn't exist anymore, which means you don't have power over anyone, specially not over me!"

Now Vegeta was furious. He usually enjoyed their little fights but this was too much! She had just insulted him, his pride, and his lost planet.

"Woman, don't you speak to me like that ever again! Do I make myself clear? I could kill you right now for saying that!"

"Then kill me if it makes you happy! Just shut up! I'm not in the mood to fight right now."

At this point Bulma was already crying, her eyes were a dark blue now and streams of tears were pouring out of them.

"Yeah, whatever…" said Vegeta. For some unknown reason, he didn't want to fight with her either. He had had a bad night and hadn't slept at all; above all, he was hungry. "Just prepare my food."

Bulma didn't even bother to answer or say anything. She was glad that this fight had been stopped so she quickly started to fry the chicken, cook the vegetables and the rice. About half an hour later lunch was ready. She served the Saiyan Prince his usual amount of food that consisted of a dozen plates and poured him some lemonade. She wasn't very hungry so she just served herself a little bit a vegetables.

Within a few minutes, Vegeta had almost finished eating. He ate as much as Goku did, however, he managed not to get food all over his face and clothes. Goku didn't really know how to behave himself properly at lunch. She guessed that growing up in the woods didn't help much. The Prince did have some manners after all. Being raised as the heir of Vegetasei must have had its good sides, such as proper behavior when eating. Unfortunately, those skills didn't include being nice with people.

Bulma always wondered if he had any friends. He seemed to be really lonely. She also wondered if he had ever fallen in love. Nobody really knew about his past life. Whatever might have happened before he came to earth to find the Dragon Balls must have been horrible. Being one of Freezer's "slaves" must have been really degrading for the proud Prince. It was useless to try to figure out what he had been through in his life because he never talked about it.

"What are you looking at woman?"

Suddenly she woke up from her daydreaming. She hadn't realized that she had stared at him the whole time she was thinking and hadn't eaten anything. She was kind of embarrassed. A pinkish blush appeared on her face because of her embarrassment. Still, she managed to answer him something even though it wasn't what she had wanted to say.

"Huh…nothing. Sorry."

'Sorry? This woman is weird.' Thought Vegeta.

"Was your food OK?" Asked Bulma trying to change the subject over their little "conversation".

The Prince rose from his chair and made his way to the Gravity Machine, but before exiting the kitchen he quickly replied.

"It was edible."

'Did he just make me a compliment?'

"Um, thanks for the compliment, and you're welcome!" She quickly retorted.

Vegeta stopped dead in his tracks.

"Don't get me all wrong! I never complimented you! I just said the food was fit for consumption!"

"Yeah, whatever."

With that, he left to train.

Little did Bulma know that Vegeta also hadn't slept at all. In fact, he had been awake all night trying to figure out why she invaded his mind like that. He had always had control over his thoughts, but know he was feeling as though he was going crazy. He kept seeing her in his dreams. Everything reminded him of her. Her face was printed in his mind. Those blue eyes that looked like the morning sky, those aqua locks that cascaded down her shoulders, that creamy white skin of hers and those cherry colored lips. She looked like an angel to him. He was also impressed about her intelligence. She was not only the most beautiful, but also the most intelligent woman he had ever seen.

All those thoughts were confusing him, nevertheless, what really confound him was the strange way his body acted when she was near him. He felt a warm feeling in his stomach and his heart skipped a beat each time she looked at him. He thought he was going crazy because he had never felt like this before. It was something absolutely new to him and he didn't know how to classify it.

'What is this? Am I going crazy? Are these the symptoms of madness?' The poor guy was really confused. He didn't know that he was actually starting to feel something for Bulma.

The only kind of feeling that he knew was hatred. That was what Freezer had taught him over the past few years of his life. He only knew how to hate. He didn't believe anything else besides that kind of emotions existed.

'Why do I feel like that? Feel….yes…I feel something… but what?'

What he was feeling was something unknown to him…yet. It was the contrary of what he felt like when he hated or killed someone. When he used to go on his purging missions and kill millions of people, he felt empty and cold as though his heart had stopped beating. There was a void inside of him that grew bigger as the time passed by. Now, he was feeling warm…

'Why do I feel warm? Why does my heart start to beat like that? Is this the contrary of hatred?'

Now, he was more confused than ever. What was the contrary of hatred?

'I don't know that feeling. What is it? DAMN!!! WHAT IS IT?'

His ki started to skyrocket. Suddenly he didn't feeling the 250 G's anymore. He felt a rush of energy throughout his whole body.

"I'M GOING MADDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

Then, his coal black eyes became a shade of green and blue without pupils, his hair flickered between raven black and golden color. He had reached the Super Saiyan level. However, his triumph didn't last very long. The machine began to buzz and then a huge explosion took place. The blast made Capsule Corp. shake on its foundations.

Bulma, who was still in the kitchen, cleaning the dished, heard and felt the explosion. She immediately rushed to the back yard where she found only pieces of what had once been a Gravity Machine. Vegeta was nowhere to be seen, but soon a bruised and battered form, stood up from under the debris…only the fall again a few seconds after.

"VEGETA!!!!!! ARE YOU OK???? ANSWER ME, DAMN IT!!!" At this point Bulma was crying. Her tears were pouring from her eyes and falling on the Prince's bloody face.

She quickly called her father to help her meanwhile a very injured Saiyan Prince was lying unconscious in her arms.

"Oh please Vegeta, don't die…please don't die…" She murmured before her parents arrived and helped her transport his wounded body to the infirmary.
