Destiny Fulfilled
Chapter 1:A Stubborn Saiyan Prince
The queen stood out on the balcony staring up at the starry sky. It seems like just yesterday that they were back on earth living peacefully without any serious responsibilities. Now, here she is, queen of an entire planet, and Vegeta as the king. The way it all happened seems like a vague dream. Now times are so different. She felt like people are always watching her every move. Off course, she's gotten used to it over the years, but she sometimes finds herself thinking back to the times on earth. Although, if given the chance she still would have made the same decision. Vegeta is happy now, and even though it is difficult sometimes, she couldn't be happier.
The king stood in the shadows watching his queen intently. If it wasn't for her, he wouldn't be here right now feeling as if he has his purpose back. He is now able to rule Vegeta-sei like he was meant to.
Vegeta slowly walked up to Bulma, and put his arms around her from behind. He let a smirk grace his features when he felt her jump from startlement. They sat there quietly for a moment just looking up at the night sky. The queen sighed with contentment thinking happily how all this came to be.
It had been 5 years, since their last battle, and everyone was living peaceful uneventful lives. However, Vegeta thought that was exactly the problem and he often found himself wishing Vegeta-sei was still around, and cursing Freeza's name.
For the past couple of weeks Bulma noticed her husband's lack of energy. He spent all of his time in the gravity room, and never talked to her much. He even stopped arguing with her, and it was starting to drive her crazy. Finally, she decided to find out what was going on before she lost complete sanity. She just couldn't live like this. Trunks was just turning 8, and he needed his father around. So Bulma decided to corner Vegeta one night after he got out of the gravity room.
Vegeta climbed out of the gravity room, and shut the door. He didn't know why he even bothered to keep training. This was a time of peace, and his unique talents weren't necessary.
Bulma watched as her husband wiped his face, and opened the refrigerator. Thinking he was off guard and unaware, due to his depressed state, she decided to try and surprise him. However, she was wrong. Just as she was about to grab him, he spoke making her jump.
“Women, what are you doing? Shouldn't you be putting Trunks in bed.” His husky voice echoed in the silent kitchen. “I just wanted to talk to you. Trunks is in his room already sleeping,” Bulma whispered as she tried to see his face around the refrigerator door. “What do you want to talk about?”
“Well, you've seemed different lately. You haven't been acting like yourself. I wanted to know what was wrong.” “Nothing's wrong, Bulma. Everything is fine.” Bulma froze than moved quickly to feel his head earning her a growl. Vegeta only used her name in their bedroom. “Tell me what's wrong.” “Leave me be. I'm fine,” He snapped.
After gathering what he wanted, Vegeta moved to the counter and began making himself sandwiches. Bulma was ready to give up on him. She knew better than anyone of Vegeta's stubborn attitude. Then an idea stuck her, but she wasn't sure if it would work.
“Fine. If you won't talk to me then I'll just go to Chichi's, and complain to her about you.” “Have fun with kakkarrot's harpy,” Vegeta grunted. “Oh, but Chichi might not be there right now.” Bulma eyed Vegeta. He remained silent, sat down and began to scarf his newly made sandwiches. “That's okay, if Chichi's not there, I'm sure Goku is. I'll just talk to him about how anal your being.” Bulma added giggling as she grabbed her keys, and headed towards the door. She couldn't help but crack a smile at the sound of Vegeta nearly choking. “Kakkarrot?!” Vegeta coughed to dislodge the chunk of food. “Are you crazy woman?? If you go and talk to him he'll be here everyday bugging me until I tell him what's wrong.” Bulma jumped at the chance.
“So there is something wrong. You can tell me anything, so just spill already.”
Vegeta glared at Bulma making her shiver slightly under his gaze.
“Nothing is fucking wrong! Now leave me the fuck alone!”
Try as she might Bulma couldn't stop the tears that threatened to spill. He always yelled at her, and it never bothered her before so what made this time any different? Nonetheless, wet salty drops ran down her cheeks. She turned her face away, and went to climb the stairs stopping only for a brief moment at the doorway. “Fine, Vegeta. Have it your way, Bulma whispered quietly with a shaky voice. With Vegeta's saiyan hearing he had no problem hearing her comment, and could tell she was crying. He felt the sinking feeling in his stomach, and cursed himself for becoming so weak. The great Prince Vegeta was about to apologize.
Bulma stood on her balcony letting the tears run freely down her cheeks. She couldn't help, but feel like she was losing her husband. Being so caught up in her thoughts, she didn't hear the bedroom door open and close. Vegeta moved swiftly and quietly to where she stood. It seemed she hadn't noticed him yet. Walking up behind her, he wrapped his arms around her waist. She jumped at the contact and tried to pull away, but he held her tight to him.
“I'm sorry Bulma.” He whispered lightly in her ear. She turned to face him in his arms, and hugged him while burying her face in the crook of his neck. He let her cry in his shoulder for a few moments before lifting her head. “Listen to me. You don't need to worry so much. I'm fine. I just have some things on my mind.” Vegeta said quietly while wiping her tears. “I want to know what's on your mind Vegeta. I want to help.” Vegeta sighed in defeat. He didn't use to give up so easily. “Alright” Letting her go he walked to the end of their balcony, and leaned in the rail.
“I've just been thinking a lot about Veget-sei.”
“Your home world?” Bulma walked and stood next to her husband. Vegeta nodded. “I feel useless in these times of peace. If I were on Vegeta-sei right now, I would be king, and then I would have a purpose.”
“Vegeta, you have a purpose here with me and Trunks. Don't you want him to grow up as a great fighter, like you?”
“I understand that, and I wouldn't want to lose either of you, but becoming king was my destiny. As for Trunks becoming a fighter, there's no more use for warriors in these peaceful times.”
Bulma just stared blankly at Vegeta.
“This is why I didn't want to talk about it, because I knew no one would understand.”
“It sounds like when I wanted to inherit my father's company. I felt like that was my destiny, but then it changed, and I realized my destiny was to you and Trunks.” Vegeta didn't say anything. They both stood there in silence for a moment. Bulma turned towards him and hugged him from behind. She couldn't help but cry, and feel miserable for him. He had lost everything and she could do nothing about it. “Don't cry women. I'll be fine.”
“Is there anything I can do?” Vegeta shook his head. “Not unless you can undo what Freeza did. Vegeta pushed Bulma away, and turned so he could see her eyes. Bulma had her eyes closed and looked like she was in deep thought. Then her eyes shot open.
“What's wrong? I was kidding.” Vegeta said slightly startled at her actions. Bulma relaxed. “It's nothing,” was all she said while she hugged Vegeta close. However, Bulma had an idea to make Vegeta happy again. `I'll get right on it tomorrow.' She thought while smiling happily. Suddenly, Vegeta picked her up startling her out of her thoughts. He carried her back into their bedroom, and placed her on their bed. “You know it's been awhile, woman.” Bulma just smiled as Vegeta began to undress her. `I have to do something for him. I just have to.'
Meanwhile up at Kami's lookout, Dende was sweating bullets not looking forward to what was to come the next day. No matter how many times he had foreseen this coming he was not ready to handle Mrs. Briefs, and her stubborn tendencies.
Well, that's the first chapter I hoped you liked it. I will get the second one up as soon as possible, so please review and let me know what you think.
