Chapter Five

Trunks ran his fingers through his hair, a clear sign he was distraught and angered. He
then sat back and looked at his best friend, tapping his foot nervously. He couldn't
believe what he was hearing. It just couldn't be true. Then he remembered whom they
were talking about.

Yes, it could be true.

"Are you sure she's pregnant," he asked, looking over his shoulder to Goten.

"Yeah, I sensed a second, extremely faint ki. Either she's pregnant or she was laying on a
very strong crab," he said, trying to lighten to mood. Not that it was very possible with
the circumstances. Trunks knew it was very possible that Bra could get pregnant, but he
didn't want to think so. She was grown, but she was still his little sister.

"Do you know the bastard who did it," Trunks asked, trying to remain calm, pushing
away the horrid thoughts of someone taking advantage of Bra…using her. His blood
began to boil. Why would someone dare do that to her?

"No, I don't," Goten said regretfully, feeling his friend's pain. He loved Trunks like a
brother. He didn't want to put him through this, but he felt he had to know.

"But, don't let her know you know yet. She'll never forgive me," he continued, folding
his arms. The last thing he needed was another thing for her to be angry with him about.
Goten sat down next to Trunks and patted his thigh. He looked down and tried to crack a
smile. He knew it was best.

"Alright, but keep me informed. I have a date that I can't break. I'll see you later,"
Trunks said while standing up and fixing his lavender polo shirt. He brushed his hands
over his black trousers and sighed.

"I sure will," Goten said, walking him over to the door. Trunks smiled and shot out the
door and into the air. Well, he'd pretty much have the house to himself…aside from Bra.
Vegeta would be training until G-d knows when, and Bulma never came out of her lab.
He decided tonight was a good a night as any to approach Bra about her situation.

Bra slid into her window and threw her tote bag on the floor. She had since changed back
into her shorts and tank top, but her hair was still wet, perhaps from all the sweat. When
both her feet were firmly planted on the floor, she looked around her dark room. It was
oh, so quiet. Bra then glanced over at her clock. It was only 10:00pm. She rolled her eyes
and plopped face-down onto her bed. She felt like she was about to fall asleep when she
heard a knock on her door.

"Go away, Trunks," she yelled, burying her head into her comforter. She really was not
in the mood to talk to him. All he ever did was try to get her to fork over some of her
friend's numbers.

"It's not Trunks, it's Goten," he said through the door. Bra snarled and threw a pillow at
the door. How dare he even talk to her?

"Go away," she growled, just as the doorknob turned and Goten entered. Her eyes
narrowed to slits, digging deeply into his being. He was really pushing his luck tonight.
She never remembered him being so damn stubborn…and it irritated the hell out of her.

"I just want to talk, Bra. I'm really concerned about you," he said, pleading to her. Bra
just sat up and pointed to the door. If he wanted to talk to her, he would have to learn to
respect her wishes first.

"I thought I told you to go," she said, obviously as a final warning. Goten still moved in
closer, not taking his deep, charcoal eyes off of her. Bra pushed herself off the bed and
walked around to him. She couldn't believe he was being so persistent. Soon, the pair
stood face to face, both as hard as stone.

"Go," she said, pushing him toward to door, but he did not budge. She began hitting him
harder, pounding his chest. Tears began to stream down her face as she chanted, "Go,"
over and over again. Goten finally caught her by the wrists and pulled her into and
embrace. She began to sob quietly, hating the fact he was there to witness it.

"Bra, just tell me what's going on," he said, rubbing her back. She shook her head,
burying it into his chest. Why did he care?

"This guy got me pregnant and he's not claiming it, so I'm not keeping it," she said all in
once breath. There, she did it. Would he be satisfied? It actually felt good to express her
feelings…she had them pinned up for so long. Goten had to take in all of what she said.
After all, he did ask…now he wished he didn't.

"Why won't he claim it," he asked, resting his chin on her head. She took and a breath
and thought about what she was going to say. He probably was going to find out sooner
or later, anyway.

"Well, I have a bit of a reputation…but I always keep it safe. But with Sean, the condom
broke," she sniffed and looked up at Goten. "And later that night, Marron and I went to a
frat party…and they slipped something in our drinks. I don't know what happened, but I
know the baby is Shawn's! But it doesn't matter…"

Goten turned Bra around and walked her over to the bed. He sat down and pulled her
down next to him. She rested her head on his shoulder as he ran his fingers through her
damn green locks. She was going through an awful lot, and he wasn't too sure if he could
help her, aside from just being there for her.

"Why doesn't it matter," he asked her, placing his hand over his. Doesn't he ever get sick
of asking so many damn questions? Bra sighed and continued her story.

"Like I said, I'm not keeping it. And don't try to talk me out of it," she snapped. Goten
smiled and shook his head. He couldn't talk her out of a paper bag unless she wanted him
to. Beside, it was totally up to her anyway.

"Well, if he's not going to claim it, you have to do what you have to do. That's his
misfortune. But, whatever happens, I'll be there for you," he said, placing his other arm
around her. Bra sat up and looked at him with puffy, red eyes. Was he for real?

"Why? I've been so mean to you," she asked him, wanted to know the answer. Goten
shrugged his shoulders and looked about the room a bit. There was no real explanation,
except he felt he had to. He didn't know why he cared so much himself.

"Well, it seems like Marron is acting shady…and you need someone," he said, patting his
hair down and then looking at her. Bra smiled and wrapped her arms around his waist.
Surprised, Goten slowly returned the embrace…having the sudden urge to protect her, no
matter what.

Bra clenched her nails into his shirt, trying to hold back more tears. He wasn't as bad as
she thought, he was only trying to help. After a long moment, Bra stepped back and
looked into Goten's face. It was almost expressionless, but not cold. She smiled and got
on her tip-toes. Slowly, she planted a little kiss on his cheek. His eyes widened with
surprise, making Bra giggle.

"You act like you've ever been kissed before," she said, jabbing him in the shoulder. He
chuckled and began to blush. He never really noticed how cute she was when she wasn't
mad. But that was because she was always mad.

"Well, if you need me I'll be in my room," he said, turning to leave. Bra grabbed his arm,
making his stop in his tracks. He looked down at her, her sea foam eyes peering being
wispy bangs of the same color…begging him. For what, he didn't know.

"Would you like to go out with me tonight," she asked innocently. He just had to say yes.
She didn't want to be stuck in this house forever. She could see him mentally
contemplating…weighing the pros and cons. Finally, he made a decision.

"Ok," he said. He figured it would be best that he go with her, instead of her sneaking off
and him having to pry her from trouble's reach.

"Well, then…let's go," she said dragging him out the window and taking to the air. She
sped off into an easterly direction, very eager to get where she wanted. A sweatdrop flew
from his brow and he tried to get her to slow down. He hoped he wouldn't regret this.
