“More tea?”
“Yes.”
ChiChi walked to the stove, but turned and placed her hands on Piccolo’s shoulders. He froze at the unfamiliar gesture.
“Thank you for spending time with the boys these past years. They need a father figure around.”
“You’re . . . welcome.”
She leaned closer, the light breath tickling his sensitive lobes.
“You are so like their father in many ways. Sometimes better.”
“Where are they?” Piccolo asked.
“Bulma’s.” Her tongue flicked the tip of his ear. “And I’ve been so lonely.”
“But we’re not . . . compatible,” he whispered.
“I’m sure we’ll work something out.”
