And Then There Were Two
“Vegeta, I know you’re back there,” Goku called out at the mouth of the deep cave. “I can sense you even when you suppress your energy.”
“I see you’re back to being an adult, Kakarot,” Vegeta said, strolling out of the shadows. “I thought you didn’t age in otherworld.”
“I visited a lot of places besides otherworld. Some where time sped up.” Goku studied Vegeta. Although old by earth standards, his physique was still as powerful as ever. “What are you doing way out here?”
“I didn’t feel like living among people,” Vegeta replied, turning to walk further inside the cave where a capsule house sat nestled between the stalactites.
“Have you been here since Bulma died?”
Vegeta nodded. “Shortly after we helped your sons bury your wife.” He paused then added, “Neither of us have anything to go back for now.”
“I guess not,” Goku agreed. “Is there an extra room in that house? I’m a little tired of traveling between worlds.”
“I’ll only live for another decade anyway,” Vegeta grumbled. “I can probably stand to have you around that long.”
As Vegeta led the way through the door, Goku caught a glimpse of a smile on Vegeta’s lips.
