Chapter 1

KASSHU

It was a warm evening as both suns made their progression into the horizon bringing in the dark red ruby sky. Kasshu had just returned from his one-month long patrol tour with his unit. He spent an entire month hunting down Tuffle guerilla forces, who were harassing trade envoys throughout the mid region of the Galaxy. From Planet Shikk, Noiah, Udin, and Jasekk his squad had encounters with low level Tuffles whom they were easily able to defeat, however, the hide and go seek engagement became such an annoyance to his entire squad. By the first week, he and squad grew tired of such tactics. Nothing agitated a Saiyan more than an enemy who refuse to fight head on. This new form of combat, that the Tuffles duped guerrilla warfare, has been disrupting peace within the parts in the galaxy that are under Saiyan jurisdiction.

Kasshu was just glad to be back on Planet Vegeta for the whole month and away from the bothersome Tuffle guerilla forces. He was in such as rush he did not even bother to take off his scouter as he walked off the Saiyan Special Galactic Forces base.

The base stood on top of the valley that overlooked the city of Pasuuta. He could see his home city in the distance, covered in shades of reds and violets from the reflection of the evening sky. He noticed how there were many new skyscrapers that were recently built since the last time he was home. The city of Pasuuta has grown from a small town to one of the largest metropolitan areas on Planet Vegeta over the past seven years after the Saiyan-Tuffle war.

While looking at the beauty of the city that was full of energy and life, he pulled out a metal locket from his pocket. It had dents and parts of the metal were fading off from the many battles Kasshu experienced. He opened it revealing a family portrait with him standing by his wife while she held their baby boy, who was a new born at the time, and their oldest son who was two years old, stood in front of them. He knew that they were waiting for him and he could not wait to get back to them. As he began to hover off the ground to take his flight towards the city, he felt a rumble that shook the entire area.

"What was that?" Kasshu said, while in the air witnessing an earthquake that was steady growing stronger by the second.

Dark clouds engulf the sky casting a blanket of darkness over the city. Accompanying the darkness were brilliant flashes of golden lightning bolts and thunder roar that seemed to cause a monstrous echo for miles.

"This does not look good at all," Kasshu said as he launch himself full speed into the sky flying towards the city. "Whatever this is I need to get to my family as quick as possible."

The earthquake continued and the golden lightning grew brighter and fiercer as Kasshu approach the city. He pressed a button on his scouter causing the green lens over his left eye to go off displaying a series of the numbers that continue to escalate upwards.

"This does not make any sense. The scouter is picking up a power level of 250,000 and it is still rising! Are we under attack?" he said perplex manner.

Kasshu looked ahead as the scouter hones in on the source of where all that power was coming from. "That looks like the city's infant center…the same one that my son Ringo is still being kept in." Kasshu picks up his speed and flies straight towards the infant center building.

With great speed and agility, he descends into the city flying pass skyscrapers, tall buildings, and transport hover vehicles. The city is in a frantic state of panic as most of all the low-level non-combatant Saiyans were scrambling trying to figure out what was happening.

"By the looks of it appears that whatever is inside the infant center is the cause of this disturbance," he said with the scouter continuing to bleep wildly as it now displayed the power level of whatever is inside the infant center to be at 400,000 while still rising. He landed swiftly in front of the infant building while witnessing the medical staff and parents evacuating the tall building with Saiyan babies in their incubator beds. Kasshu rushes towards the entrance dodging Saiyans who were rushing to get out of the infant center. The severity of the quake is in this area, which caused all the onlookers around him to stumble, while the Medical staff and parents began taking flight in order find a safe place to take the babies. Kasshu could hear all the infants crying in unison as if they can feel the terror from within the building.

"What's going on," he shouts as he grabs hold of a doctor who was running pass him.

"Just get out of here!" the doctor said panic stricken. "There's a child in there with an insane amount of power that has gone berserk and if someone does not stop him he's going to destroy this whole city."

The doctor runs away with the hundreds of other Saiyans who are in fear. In his mind, Kasshu cannot believe that such an incredible amount of power is coming from a baby. Yet, his scouter now shows that its power level is passing 500,000. Not seeing his son being carried out filled him with worry.

As he enters the front door, he hears someone calling out his name. "Kasshu!" the voice yelled. He turns to see his wife landing from the sky with their oldest son in her arms. She quickly runs to Kasshu with their son running ahead of her. "Dad!" the little one shouted.

"Obako! I'm glad you're safe," Kasshu said as he embraces his son. His wife quickly follows with a brief hug and a foreboding expression on her face.

"Barda what is happening? Where is Ringo?" Kasshu said in the midst of the building that felt like it was about to collapse.

"I do not know what is going on. This earthquake just began out of nowhere without any warning, so I rushed here to make sure Ringo was safe," Barda said. Her eyes carried an unsettled look showing how distress she was about the situation.

Kasshu saw his scouter showing the source of the energy coming a few floors above them. The building was becoming too unstable and was in danger of collapsing if the earthquake did not stop soon. "Barda take Obako and get far away from here. I do not want either of you to get hurt," Kasshu said.

"Forget it we are both coming with you," Barda protested. "I do not know what it is, but I sense that this power is coming from Ringo…I can faintly feel that it's him and as a family we must go help him." Hearing this caused a dreaded feeling in Kasshu's stomach. He did not think that his child who was born with a power level of 9 could be emitting such a high power level. Obaka tap him repeatedly on his legs trying to draw his attention.

"Yea dad let's go get Ringo!" Obako said enthusiastically. Even with the entire city shaking and standing in a building that could collapse his son was showing no fear. With the determination of both his wife and son Kasshu smiled having pride in his family.

"Well, its settle then let's get going," Kasshu said. He lifted Obako up and had him wrap his little arms around his neck. "Hold onto me tight we are going to save Ringo as a family." Barda smiles as she prepares herself to follow Kasshu. He looks up and sees the scouter showing the power level is now at 780,000 going to 800,000. The scouter pinpoints the power level coming from the sixteenth floor.

"Everyone close your eyes," Kasshu shouted. Immediately he raises his left arm in the air and a bright blue spherical shape light glowed from the palm of his hands. In an instant, he projects the ball of light into the ceiling causing it to rip through several floors in the process. Kasshu lifts off with Obako in his right arm and Barda follows them behind his energy ball, as it creates a passage while it plows through each floor, causing debris to descend below each floor. They pass all the floors with complete swiftness as Kasshu's aura was deflecting any piece of debris that was falling on them.

In no time, they reach the sixteenth floor landing in the waiting area that was outside several infant holding areas. The scouter shows there was no other power level except for the incredible high one that was now passing 850,000! They did not need the scouter to locate which holding area the energy was coming from. The violent rumbling was coming from a room right in front of them with the doors completely falling off and a bright golden light shining radiantly with the loud cries of a baby. The family of three ran into the room without hesitation and saw it was completely empty, except for one damaged incubator pod with a small baby whose crying sounded like screams of a beast. "Ringo, my baby, my son your mother is here!" Barda yelled through her son's crying.

The energy was unbelievable strong as they tried to approach him and despite their resolve, they could barely get any closer to the child. Nearly destroyed from the intensity of his power, his incubator pod had crumbled to the floor. The energy he was projecting was terrifying and it was without a doubt that Ringo could destroy the entire city if not the planet if he did not settle down.

Kasshu scouter went crazy as it rapidly accelerated from Ringo's power level causing it to explode. He was in a state of shock. "His power level…it's…it's over 900,000" he said in a stunned voice as if the air had been knocked out of him.

"What? Over 900,000?" Barda said in a whisper filled with disbelief, as she looked at Kasshu startled and confused. Kasshu noticed that Obako was holding on to him trembling in fear. He placed his hand on his shoulders to comfort him. He looked over to his wife, who now turned to their son completely fixed on him. Within her gaze, tears slowly fell from her eyes. It pained Kasshu that his family could not do anything to relieve whatever ailed their son. However, Barda began walking towards Ringo with tears still dripping from her eyes. Kasshu squints as the golden light became more blinding and the rumbling began to cause a few buildings in the surround area to collapse. He could see his wife taking one painful step at a time with each movement requiring all her strength.

To Kasshu's amazement Barda had reach the side of Ringo's incubator pod. She was sweating and breathing hard, all the while, parts of her armor and clothes began to tear shredding into pieces. Cuts were appearing all over her body inducing her blood to flow like a river. Yet, Barda was able to wrap her arms around her baby, whose cries were as loud as an oozaru. She calmed herself while embracing him with tears and holding onto him with all her strength. She began humming a gentle tune, which even in the chaos sounded very soothing and comforting. Kasshu could hear the sweet melody over Ringo's cries that started to die down. Bit by bit as Ringo heard his mother's melody his cries lessen. The bright golden aura dim downed until it was no longer visible. The rumbling came to a steady halt and the lightning cease to flash across the sky.

Barda picked up her son in her arms and held him close to her bosom slowly rocking him as he fell asleep. Kasshu sees his wife, torn clothes and bloody, as if she just barely came out of a battle victorious. To him Barda went though the toughest battle any Saiyan have ever gone through. He and Obako quickly ran towards her hopping over all the debris in their way. Obako hugged his mother tight from her legs without saying a word. Kasshu wrapped his arm around her neck and kissed her on the cheek.

"Barda you were amazing, now I know why I chose you as my wife," Kasshu said. Barda smiled and rested her head on Kasshu chest.

"It was nothing he just wanted to be held and sang to sleep," Barda said. Kasshu and Barda stared at their baby born who was silent and at peace. Kasshu was amazed at his transformation from a baby emitting a power level that was on the verge of destroying the entire planet to becoming just a regular harmless baby. In this tranquility moment, Kasshu's world stood still as he was finally together with his family. It felt like he could remain like this forever, but in a sudden burst, several Saiyans crashed through the window and another dozen charge into the room through the door-less entry. His family were surrounding by the King's Royal Elite Forces. Kasshu knew it would have been only a matter of time before the Saiyan Forces of Planet Vegeta came onto this location to investigate what had caused the tremendous power output nearly destroying the planet. He just wished that they had come a few moments later, as he was cherishing being together with his family. The King's Royal Forces began barking orders at him and his family, yet through the ruckus, Ringo remained undisturbed in his sleep.
