Dragon Ball/Z/GT Fan Fiction ❯ Dragon Ball New Generation ❯ A New Being ( Chapter 6 )
Chapter Six : A New Being
The atmosphere strangely felt colder...it was definite that her hairs were standing and her heart was beating faster than she could imagine. Nion's eyes couldn't look away, and her body wouldn't even move. The creature stared blankly at the little girl and folded his arms.
"You woke me up from my rest" it said.
Nion jumped back and put up her fists.
"Stay back or my brother will turn you inside out!"
The creature stood up and brushed some dirt off his green face. He looked around but saw no sign of "a brother." He turned to Nion and looked harder and realized her fear.
"Calm down...I'm not going to hurt you."
Nion continued to step back when the green creature took a step towards her. Being her sweet innocent self, she put her fists down and gave him the weirdest look.
"How do you sleep on a rock like that? Doesn't it hurt your bottom?"
The green being was surprised. He has never been asked a silly question such as that. His home and his guardians were always so serious, and so was he.
"I'm use to it" he replied, "but who are you? Are you a human? I've never seen a human before."
"You've never seen a human? No way! Are you starting Halloween early this year because I've never seen a costume like that before. Can I have one?"
"What!? This is how I look like" he said in embarrassment.
"How come I've never seen you before?"
"Because my Guardian said to never go beyond the boundaries of the lookout and the forest which is situated below it on Earth."
"Why?"
"I'm not exactly sure" he said, "But it's something to do with humans becoming scared of me because of the way I look."
There was a short silence in the conversation after that statement. Nion blinked several times before concluding to herself.
"Does that make me not human because I'm not scared of you?"
"For real?" he asked a little perplexed.
"Yeah!"
"Maybe Dende-san was wrong?" the creature said to himself.
"Who's Dende?"
"The Guardian of Earth...he looks like me you know."
"What's that then?"
"We're Namekseijin."
"Is that a green jellybean?"
"NO!" he yelled. He couldn't believe what he just heard from this little girl. A jellybean?
"That's the name we've given if we come from the same race of people from the planet named Namek."
"Oooohh..." Nion said, "Can I go meet him pretty please?"
"Are you kidding?"
"No."
"I guess so...but you have to fly to get there. Can you humans fly?"
"Not all of them can fly. My brother can, but I can't."
"Really? All you have to do is centre your internal energy and somehow push it out so it levitates you. It took me a few days before I got the hang of it."
Nion then concentrated and to the Namek's surprise, the little girl began to float upwards, just a few inches off the ground.
"Like this?"
"Yeah." He said dumbfounded, "Lets go then. Follow me, but before we go, do you humans have a name?"
"Humans? We all have different names, but my name is Nion."
"Weird name. My name is Shin Piccolo."

Mr Popo was watering the plants outside the Lookout. He was humming a tune when he felt a familiar energy.
"Piccolo. I was wondering when he was going to come back."
Sure enough, it was who he said. But Popo's face widen when he wasn't arriving alone. He watched as Shin Piccolo landed, followed by a small girl.
"Piccolo, who is this?" he asked.
"Yes, who is this with you?" came another voice. It was Dende. He just exited the main entrance to see who Piccolo brought alone since he felt two energies coming to the lookout. Shin Piccolo smiled and introduced his new friend, Nion. Dende and Popo chuckled. Only a child couldn't become afraid because of their innocence. Dende walked up to the little girl and leaned over to get a better look of her.
"Are you Dende-san?" she asked innocently.
"Why yes I am."
"Piccolo-san was right, you both are green jellybeans."
Popo and Dende stood straight and looked in surprise at one another. Jellybeans?
"Not jellybeans...Nameks remember?" Piccolo told her. Nion thought a bit and then smiled.
"That's right, sorry!"
Popo and Dende couldn't help themselves but laugh.
An hour passed by, and the four of them were just finishing the small cakes that Popo had made. When Nion asked to play a game, Piccolo declined, thinking playing was to childish. Not only that, being secluded on the Lookout, he has never played a game before in his life. It wasn't until Nion poked him in the back, yelling out:
"You're It!"
Piccolo looked in surprise. He didn't understand. Popo and Dende laughed and told the Namek boy it was a chasing game. He had to catch her while she is running away from him. The boy finally understood and began the chase, but when he was about to catch her she maneuvered away. Piccolo did the same, and the chase continued with Popo and Dende sitting down watching. Dende turned to Popo.
"The Lookout hasn't been so wildly since the last time Gokou and the others have been around."
Popo nodded.
"Who is this girl? She moves fast for a human."
Nion overhearing Popo stopped to answer his question, but allowing Piccolo to catch her.
"I'm not fast. If you want to see what fast is, you should meet my brother."
"Got you!" Piccolo called. Nion laughed and they continued rampaging around until they were play fighting. Piccolo was throwing punches while Nion just blocked, laughing her head off.
"Brother? He must be a strong human...but to be that fast, he must be fully grown up." Dende said. He took another sip of his tea, when he felt a strange feeling overwhelm him. Popo saw his Master's reaction.
"What's the matter Dende?"
***
"That's weird." said Vegeta.
"What's up?" asked G, "You see Nion or something?"
"No it's nothing like that. I feel an energy at the moment. It just appeared just then..."
"You know what it is?"
Vegeta concentrated. He has felt this energy before, but it felt stronger than previously. Who was it? Then suddenly it hit him.
"It's Nion!"
"What?" G asked pretty much surprised.
"I feel her ki!" Vegeta said happily, "follow me!"
***
Popo waited for Dende's answer, but he never got one.
"Dende?"
"I'm not sure Popo-san" he said as she stood up, "I don't know why I feel a little strange."
"Maybe because the dragon balls are now active, and you are worried about them." Popo said to him. Dende sat back down and agreed with his friend. He probably was right. Dende looked at Shin Piccolo and smiled.
"That young Namek has much energy. I've never seen him so happy to have a friend."
"Yes, you were lucky that King Yema allowed him to be in the living world you know." Popo said.
"Yeah, but it is a good idea. Even Piccolo-san agreed. Since the dragon balls are now active, we need someone to look after them. We can't let something like the dark dragons arise again."
They both nodded and turned back to the two children playing. Shin Piccolo had got Nion into a corner and punched away as she laughed. When he was about to deliver the final blow, a beam of energy soared from the sky and knocked Piccolo over. This totally stunned everyone, but the one who was most surprised was probably Popo and Dende.
"Leave my sister alone!"
Nion got up and helped Piccolo to his feet. He was a little shocked. Nion flew up to Vegeta and G who were completely surprised.
"Nion, you can fly now?" G asked. Vegeta however took her by her arms.
"Are you okay? Did that alien hurt you?"
"No, he's my new friend." she answered. Vegeta and G looked at the green creature and back to Nion.
"What?" they both asked. Nion descended to the ground and Vegeta and G followed.
"Who is this guy?" Vegeta ordered.
Piccolo put his foot down and told them his name wasn't "guy" but "Shin Piccolo." Of course, eventually, he and Vegeta broke out into a fight as the worried Popo watched on. But Dende was pretty much to stunned to do anything. What a dejavu!
The boy looks exactly like Vegeta Snr, and he was the little girl's brother! That explains a lot. How uncanny!

Meanwhile, Pastri has started yelling because Gokou Jr hasn't returned yet, and the enemies have now recovered 6 of the dragon balls. Now they only have one more to recover.
