Chapter Nine : Old Man Says

It was suppose to be a sunny day. Well it was until the Earth mysteriously was overwhelmed with ice and turned into a barren wasteland. Kame-sennin brushed the ice off his clothes and took another sip of his coffee. He was freezing and he needed to warm up. Even if he was an old man who never ages anymore, he still had enough strength to withstand the attack. After all, he isn't alone on the island anymore. Kame-sennin put his cup down and began wiping the ice off his magazines.
"Oh boy...these were all in mint condition too!" he whined.
"Stop whining Master, they're not as damaged as my car magazines!"
Kame-sennin looked up to the 16-year old teenager. His hair was sandy brown and his face looked pretty distressed. His magazine collection was almost a big as his collection of dirty magazines!
"So what? They don't have as much market value as mine! You don't have a trophy for having your magazines like me! I've got to keep the status going!"
The teenager laughed and slammed his magazines down. The noise also stirred some others within the small house.
"Will you both keep it down?!" a voice called from upstairs.
A body descended from the stairs. He was holding a bow and arrow, and he was polishing it.
"Master and I were just talking about our magazines Rue. It's nothing to pester you with."
The teenage boy put his bow and arrow down and picked up one of the car magazines and turned to the owner.
"You know what Sage? These car magazines are your life. You might as well give up training with Kame-sennin and just work in the car field."
Sage laughed. Yeah he loved his car magazines...he wouldn't mind pursuing a career with them, but he didn't want to neglect his training. After all, he had been training many years of his life and it was him who got his friends together to join in training with the old turtle master. Another person then walked right pass them and looked outside the window. The ocean was mostly ice now, but because of the sun's rays, it has begun to melt.
"Can we really just sit here? I know that Master has trained us and that helped us to escape the attack, but I would like to know what caused it."
Sage, Kame-sennin and Rue all looked up. They couldn't help but to agree with the last member training under Kame-sennin. "There isn't much we can do Thyme...yeah we're powerful, but I don't think it's right to act just yet." Sage told him.
"He's right you know." Kame-sennin said, "I know that it's hard to sit down while this is going on, but sometimes you have to use your head rather than your fists."
Thyme, Sage and Rue nodded, but for some reason they couldn't swallow the information. They had a bad feeling about it. Thyme walked outside to clear his mind while the others resumed their activities.
Kame-sennin looked at his students and sighed.
"If only Son Gokou was still alive, this would have never happened."
All of a sudden, there was a blast and Thyme was hit back and landed into one side of the house. Startled, everyone ran outside and was stunned to find themselves being confronted by five bug creatures with smirks across their faces.
"You caused the attack!" Sage yelled, "The attack onto Earth!"
The creatures just laughed, and they announced that they had been sent by their Master to kill any living inhabitants. Thyme pulled himself off broken side of the house. He was practically pissed off to the bone.
"Come get us ugly!"
Rue turned to Kame-sennin and told him to go inside for they can handle the situation. The old man wasn't sure about the match up. Sure his current students were strong, but how strong were these bugs?

Punches and kicks flied around the island, and the three boys put up a good fight. They seemed like they had the upper hand until the bugs had developed their fighting skills a little more during the battle. The five bugs all launched a web out of their mouths and trapped the boys, stopping them from any movement. Just as the creatures were about to kill the boys, Vegeta and Piccolo appeared.
"Let them go now!" Shin Piccolo yelled.
This brief interruption allowed the three boys to break free from the web bonds and blast the bugs into smithereens using the Kame Hame Ha. Vegeta was utterly surprised.
How could normal humans defeat these creatures?
Rue wiped the sweat off his face and looked up at Piccolo.
"Thanks for the short intervention!"
Piccolo smiled. So far, no humans have given him a hard time about his physical appearance. Vegeta was annoyed.
If I knew these guys could handle those monsters, then I could've went to help mother. But then again, they eliminated the ones who were going to hurt mum. Vegeta smiled.
Kame-sennin walked outside and congratulated the three boys on a job well done when he saw Shin Piccolo and Vegeta Jr.
"It can't be! Vegeta? Piccolo?"
Rue, Sage and Thyme were confused at how their Master had guessed the names, but Kame-sennin said that he had seen these kids before, but something of course was different about them. After Piccolo and Vegeta explained who they were, it was then the old man understood that these two were in fact descendants of the fighters he had known so many years ago.
"We're here to stop Semi...but first we're going to save my mother and cousin." Vegeta told them.
"Semi?" they all asked.
Vegeta explained that those creatures that were here a minute ago were sent by their Master, Semi, to kill any survivors because he wants to rule Earth. The three boys didn't like that idea, and so didn't Kame-sennin.
"Let us join you and help you" Rue said.
"We're aware of your powers...we can feel it. But let us help you both. We can make a difference." Sage added.
Vegeta couldn't believe this. He could do it himself! Piccolo however liked the idea. Vegeta knew he couldn't do much about it. After all, it was everyone's fight at the moment.
"You'll all just get into the way. Thanks for the complement, but we don't need your help." Vegeta said.
Everyone, including Piccolo just gave the weirdest look. What an ego! Kame-sennin wasn't surprised though. He couldn't help himself but laugh. The boy flew off and Shin Piccolo was left behind. He scratched his head and chuckled in embarrassment. After apologizing to the boys and the old man, he departed before being told by Sage:
"We'll meet again soon."

Back at the Lookout, G was sitting on the steps of the main entrance looking at his shoes. Man he was bored to the bone. The world was in danger, and here he was sitting here like he was being babysat. All the while, he could've been at home watching television, playing on the Internet and listening to his ballad music. Then his mum would bring him some sandwiches for lunch. Oh my gosh!!! MUM!! DAD!! G just remembered about his family back at home. He wanted to know if they were fine...if they survived the assault...but that was impossible. He didn't have any abilities to do anything about it, and this really hurt him. His parents were in danger, and the only one that could do something was his little cousin Vegeta. How embarrassing.
G stood up and paced over to Dende who was sitting inside.
"What is it?"
"Are you certain that everyone else is frozen besides the ones you have said?" G inquired.
"I said that I'm not sure. At my old age, I cannot be certain." Dende answered.
G turned around and sighed in sadness. He walked outside and looked up to see Nion helping Popo weed the gardens. She looked fine, but how could she be worried? She was just a kid. G knew that he had come from a warrior blood line, but that wasn't enough to tell him he had power. He had never seen it. G sighed and resumed his spot on the stairs which he previously was sitting on. It was pretty depressing. For once, he felt inferior to everyone around him. Even to his innocent cousin, Nion, and she knew nothing! He felt so bad that he felt like he was floating.
When G looked down, he then noticed he was floating! Panicking, he looked up to see Popo and Nion floating too. Dende was forced to float too, but he was holding onto the pillars.
"What's going on?" G called.
A strange figure then came into view after this short statement. The four beings weren't sure who it was, but they were sure about something...it was definitely trouble.

Linni and Hazell were now playing cards. This was their tenth game of 13 and Linni was leading. Hazell then finally grew tired of sitting around and huffed.
"This is boring!"
Bobulla and Linni agreed, and against all odds and the dangers, they decided to leave the safety of Capsule Corporation and go outside to see what was going on. Outside, it was calm and quiet, yet chilling to the bone.
"I wonder what caused all this?" Bobulla asked.
"Something is coming our way." Hazell said. Linni agreed. She also felt it. The three were a little worried what was going to descend from the sky, but they were proud that it wasn't trouble. Bobulla ran up to Vegeta and hugged him so hard that it made him short of breath.
"You're okay. Where is Nion-chan?"
"She's fine. She's with G at some tower above the Earth." Vegeta said, trying to catch his breath. He turned to Linni, who was also happy to see a friendly face.
"This is Hazell." Linni introduced. The blonde haired girl nodded, and Vegeta smiled. So this was his cousin's friend.
"So what happened?" she asked.
For the following ten minutes, Vegeta relayed the events which led up to now...even when he and G lost Nion that afternoon. Bobulla was definitely not happy, but she got over it. After all, maybe it was for the best. Linni and Bobulla continued to listen while Hazell who had heard enough began to loose attention. It was enough to know. Some crazy bug froze Earth for revenge. Simple. She looked up into the sky and saw Shin Piccolo hovering above. He looked pretty shy, especially when he realized Hazell noticed him. Piccolo turned red in the face and turned away. This was the first time he had seen teenage girls. They were rather different from younger girls like Nion. Yeah, they looked like they had an attitude. Hazell didn't find this strange at all. Her ancestor told her stories about her old days, and what she saw how wasn't as half scary as what she has heard.
"Are you Vegeta's friend or something?" she asked out of the blue.
Linni and Bobulla turned around and followed Hazell's gaze. They didn't understand why she wasn't freaked, because they were.
"Oh yeah...that's Piccolo. He's from the tower where G and Nion are waiting right now." Vegeta told them.
Piccolo landed onto the ground and smiled awkwardly as he was introduced to Bobulla and Linni. He had never met so many people all in one day!!!
"So now what?" Linni asked, "should we head up to that tower too?"
"I don't think that's possible just yet Linni." Hazell said.
They all turned around to find the reason why Hazell said what she did. There were bug creatures surrounding them. Bobulla and Linni were surprised. Hazell wasn't really. Vegeta and Piccolo then remembered about these monsters, and knew to get out of this jam, they would have to fight.
"Yummy, human creatures..." the beasts all said. Bobulla just freaked out at the thought of them going to eat her. Vegeta, Piccolo, Linni and Hazell all looked serious. They got into a fighting stance, all standing in a row.
"We have to beat these guys if we have any chance to stop all this from getting worse." Piccolo told them.
"Mum, go and hide somewhere now!" Vegeta called to his mother.
She wasted no time and hid in the shrubs near their home. The creatures leapt at the four of them, and the four young fighters reacted. Bobulla watched in amazement as the 4 ripped the sky with their great power. Piccolo fought for a while, and successfully killed two by hitting them into a nearby building and throwing ki attacks at them. Vegeta killed two by giving the opposition powerful blows to their chests. Hazell killed one by dislocating one of it's arms before finishing it off with a power blast. Linni killed one by a big ki attack. When all enemies were wiped out, the youngsters all rejoiced. Bobulla exited the shrubs and congratulated them on a job well done.
"Well now, should we head up to the Tower?" asked Linni.
"Sounds good. Let's go." said Vegeta.
But suddenly, Bobulla cried and everyone turned around to see the bug that Linni had seemingly killed wasn't dead. It leapt at them in great rage. They all yelled as it moved closer to them, when all of a sudden, the creature blew up in front of them.
"What happened?" Linni asked.
Vegeta and Piccolo all looked into the sky. Piccolo didn't understand, but young Vegeta did. He smiled.
"Gokou..."
It was Gokou Jr, and he was holding out his hand from the blast he just delivered. The boy and his other companions hovered to the ground.
"Hi Vegeta, I thought you might still be here." Gokou said.
"And who is this young man?" Bobulla asked curiously, yet welcoming.
"Don't you remember mother? He's the one I fought at the Tournament." Vegeta told her.
"Oh.." Bobulla then remembered, "I remember now. Gokou right? So I guess the one there is your grandmother?"
This startled everyone since Pan was still unconscious, being held over the shoulder by Pastri and Gokun. Vegeta looked at the teenager...the one who seemingly gave him the slip that morning.
"What is he doing here?"
Gokou didn't fully understand Vegeta's reaction, but when he realized he still thought he was a crook, he understood.
"This is Gokun. That's his name Vegeta, and he's no robber. He's my new friend."
Bobulla walked up to the teenager. She noticed that even though he was new here, he showed no sight of fear or nervousness. It was pretty interesting.
"Really?" she said, "That's good. You both look like you might need a break. Here, let me help."
Bobulla then helped the two with Pan by holding her herself.
"We should get out of here..." Linni said.
"That's right. Save the introductions for later, more enemies might be heading our way." Hazell added.
Everyone agreed and headed to the Lookout which Vegeta had mentioned before.

***

G watched at the confronting being. It scared him and all he could do was shutter. He looked to one side of him and Popo was also showing the same face. Nion was holding tightly onto his pants, scared once again.
"So this is the great Lookout I hear about? I didn't know it really existed." the being said.
He looked around and went up to Popo and grabbed him by his vest and looked straight into his eyes.
"Are you the Guardian of Earth?"
"No I'm not." he spoke weakly.
Nion formed a tighter grip on Popo, as the creature turned his attention to her.
"I like the look of fear...especially from humans."

"I'm the Guardian."
Everyone turned around to see Dende standing at the main door. He didn't look happy at all, and you could see the fear in him by the way he held the great long staff which helped him move around. G admired his bravery, and watched as he walked over to the monster. As he went, he turned around to G and motioned him to leave, but he was frozen into place. He couldn't move.
"I am Semi, the new Guardian of Earth." Semi proudly announced, "So now I have to exterminate you."
Dende couldn't do anything. He wasn't a fighter, yet he couldn't let harm come to anyone. He was the Guardian after all. Death lunged over him, as Popo and Nion watched in horror. G who couldn't take the trouble anymore yelled out.
"Leave him alone!"
Semi and his minions looked up. They couldn't help but laugh at what ordered them to stop. Yeah, G did look like a nerd in his shorts, white shirt and vest, and yes, his hair was slightly geekish, but still!
"You're going to stop us?" Semi asked.
G wanted too. He really did, but when he knew he would only get hurt, the thought tore him into bits. He couldn't fight.
"I guess not..." he sadly spoke.
Semi laughed.
"No one to stop me? Then this Earth will be mine to rule upon this Lookout!" the devishlish laugh continued on, and the four doomed beings on the Lookout watched in horror as the bad creatures loomed over them.

***

It was real tiring as they all reached the Lookout, but at least it was now over. Bobulla loosened her hold on Pan, and happily looked around. It was utterly beautiful.
"So what are your names?"
All of the children introduced themselves according to their own name.
"I'm Gokou."
"Name's Vegeta."
"Linni...Vegeta and G's cousin"
"My name is Shin Piccolo, but you can call me just Piccolo."
"Hazell is my name."
"Gokun..."
"I'm Gokou's cousin, Pastri."
"Who's G? And where is your little sister Vegeta?" asked Gokou. He didn't see anyone with that name around.
The boy laughed awkwardly.
"G's my other cousin. He's here with Nion on this Lookout with a green person and a black man. Both nice people, well I think they are people."
"So where is everyone? I don't see no one." Bobulla said.
It was then Vegeta realized that it was kind of quiet. He looked around, but no one was in sight.
"Let's hurry and find someone...we have to put Grandma down to rest." Pastri said.
Piccolo however wasn't fooled. He knew something was wrong from the start they arrived. Piccolo put up his hand to stop anyone from entering the main entrance. When they asked what was wrong, the Namek only hushed them.
"Wait here for a minute." he told them.
Shin Piccolo quietly walked into the door and looked around...something was definitely wrong. He gathered up some courage and walked straight in. Everyone watched intently as the green boy disappeared inside, only to be blasted outside by a great energy blast.
"You alright?" asked Gokun.
"I think so." Piccolo answered. He looked up to see a strange little being step out from the darkness, followed by his minion, Koogari and the four bug creatures. They laughed.
"Who are you?!" demanded Gokou.
"And what have you done with the others?" added Piccolo.
More laughing. Semi introduced himself as the king of Earth, Lord Semi, and everyone sneered. This was not good. Bobulla stepped forward.
"Where is G and Nion? Tell me!"
Semi laughed and blasted a side of the Lookout building. When the smoke cleared up, they saw G, Nion, Popo and Dende being strung up, unconscious, by strange webs all wrapped up into shells.
"Nion!" Bobulla cried.
"G!" Linni cried.
"Popo-san! Dende-san!" Piccolo cried.
"Boring people...didn't even know how to defend for themselves." Semi said sarcastically.
"What are you doing to them ugly? They better be okay!" Vegeta said.
"They're fine..." Koogari finally spoke. Pastri gave him the evil eye...she remember he was the one who hurt her grandma.
"The weaklings are being turned into our slaves..."
"Oh no!" Bobulla shrieked as she turned to look at the doomed four. Everyone started to get angry, and Semi laughed when he noticed this.
"Let me give you a demonstration."
Semi's eyes glowed and the four shells opened and out fell the four beings. They lied on the ground unmoved for a few seconds before they started to laugh strangely. Everyone watched in horror as they stood up. Their legs, arms and neck and head were covered by vine-like branches. They laughed again and their eyes were shining a bright red. All walked up to their new Master, and then stopped.
"Try this" Semi said. He motioned G forward. Evil-G then sneered at the enemies, who truly are his friends and family, and leapt at them in great anger. Everyone dodged, and Vegeta and Linni were pretty surprised. The punch that G delivered had hit the ground, and it left a big crater. So he did have Saiya blood in him. G then powered up, and with the adding strength of Semi's influence, he was able to blow everyone backwards.
"See what power that boy now has? All because of me." Semi chuckled.
"That's not true!" Vegeta yelled as he stood up after being thrown backwards, "It's Saiya strength, not yours!"
"Whatever. I've had enough of this...I should be busy remodeling this boring planet, and here I am wasting time on all of you. Go slaves and exterminate the intruders. Koogari, you come with me. The rest of you bugs stay here." and with that Semi left.
Evil-Nion, Evil-Popo and Evil-Dende stepped forward and smiled. They then advanced onto the so called "intruders."
They all looked in horror as they came towards them in great speeds. What were they going to do? These are their friends, and they couldn't hurt them!
