Chapter 22 - Beware Linni! Pastri!

"Did you feel that Pastri?" asked Linni.
"Feels like that battle is over..."
"I can't sense Piccolo's, Thyme, Rue and Sage's ki. Could they be..." Pastri said before shaking at the thought of their deadly defeat.
"They'll be fine, I know they will be. The bad news is that Ii is after us now. We better go on foot now."
"Yeah, it should buy us more time." Pastri agreed. They both descended on the ground and began running.

Ii continued flying over the vast lands, looking side to side for any signs of the remaining 2 Dragon Balls. Hoping he was getting closer, Ii kept looking at the 5 he possessed.
"They're not reacting!" he growled.
"Where are those balls? I'm growing impatient, and so is my appetite to murder those meddling Saiya-jin. Make no mistake, I will find all of the Dragon Balls and finally defeat those Saiya-jin once and for all!"

On the world of the powerful Kaioshin, Nion and the Supreme Kai were watching everything through a crystal ball after some extensive training. Gokou who was going to train with them had entered the Training Dimension beforehand, and still hadn't exited.
"Do you think my cousin and her friend will be okay Kai-san?" Nion inquired.
"I don't know as long Ii is trailing them. Lets hope they can keep out running him. They both may not be as powerful as Piccolo and the others, but they are smart girls."
Nion nodded, and left the purple being for a minute to visit her brother who was still training outside.
"Linni and her friend are being chased by that bad guy, Vegeta."
"I know" he answered, still punching and kicking air.
"I'm scared."
"Don't worry Nion, when I'm done training, I'll go destroy Ii okay? Nothing to be scared of."
"Its not that. I'm scared for mama."
Vegeta stopped and looked at his sister. She was so big-hearted, and he had a liking to her innocence, but he wouldn't be caught dead telling her that. He's was her big brother, and as a big brother it was his job to annoy her.
"I told you not to worry Nion."
The girl wiped her tears, but they kept flowing steadily. Vegeta sighed, and hugged her trying to comfort Nion.
"Mother's going to be fine okay? Trust me."
Nion backed away, and wiped her tears again. She put on a brave smile.
"Thank you Vegeta."
and then she ran back to Kaioshin who was watching them. Kaioshin smiled at Vegeta, seeing he did have a heart after all, but the young boy just turned around and flew off to train elsewhere on the planet.
"Kaioshin-san!!!" Nion called.
"What is it Nion-chan?"
"We have to start training again! I have to help Vegeta protect mama!"
Kaioshin smiled tenderly at the girl. As they began training, Kaioshin mentioned to Nion that her brother had an attitude.
"No he doesn't. He's just being my big brother." Nion answered happily.

Gokun watched the two fight, and then watched Vegeta training in the distance.
"Elder Kai, after all this training, do you think we have a good chance of winning?"
Elder Kai looked up from his manga.
"Its not possible to say just yet. The training isn't complete. Saiya-jin... I can never estimate how powerful they'll become. For instance, Gohan...after my training..."
Gokun nodded, and was about to resume meditation when he felt a great energy surge coming from one of the dimension rips.
"Is that Gokou?"
"No. He's in the other one. He's meditating at the moment."
Gokun was confused.
"Then who is it?"
"You dummy! Its that other one, G."
"G?! But he came out of there a few days ago to train out here didn't he?"
Elder Kai shook his head.
"Yes he did, but he entered again. He thought he could do more in isolation where he could concentrate better...now get back to work! Face me, and relax or you're power up will be useless!!!"
Gokun sighed again.
That other guy who took Elder Kai's training...what's his name? Gohan wasn't it? How did he put up with all this?
He then turned his eyes to the dimension G was situated in.
G...I can sense you're power is growing. Keep training...we'll need all the power we can get.

Piccolo was still faced down like Rue, Sage and Thyme, but his mind wasn't. Currently, he was emerged in a nightmare.
What is that light? Its all of the Dragon Balls...they are safe. NO! Ii-Shenron! He has them! What about Linni and Pastri? I failed again...like I did against Semi.....
What is that warmth I feel? Am I dead? No, it can't be. I'm not finished...the Dragon Balls aren't safe yet. Ii, get away from them! Get away from them now!!
Piccolo woke up in a shock, realizing it was only a dream. He wiped the dirt and sweat from his face and then realized Dende was kneeling beside him with the palm of his hands over his chest.
"Did you heal me Dende-san?"
"Yes I did. I came here straight away."
"That explains the warmth I felt..." Piccolo said, "What about the others? Sage, Thyme and Rue?"
"I'm going to heal them now. Be patient Piccolo, I'm very old."
Piccolo laughed and stood up. He watched as one by one, his friends regained consciousness. He was glad to see they were all right.

Linni and Pastri were still on foot, and still had the two Dragon Balls with them. Running, jumping and leaping over any obstacles, the two girls evaded any signs of Ii-Shenron.
"Lets stop for a while Linni." Pastri insisted.
Linni agreed.
"It should be okay. As long he can't sense us."
"We'll make sure to keep our ki suppressed. Lets hide in that cave over there."
Linni turned to see the cave Pastri was pointing at, and both walked in. It was dark and cold, but it didn't bother them at all.
"Finally, we get to rest a little." Pastri sighed in relief. Linni agreed and stretched her arms. She placed the 2 Dragon Balls beside her and pulled out a capsule.
"What's that for Linni?"
"You'll see."
Linni pressed the button and threw it onto the ground. With a puff of smoke, a tiny refrigerator appeared. Linni opened it and handed a can of soda to Pastri, who smiled and drank from its contents eagerly.
Linni also had a can of soda.

An hour passed by, and the fridge became empty. They both let out tiny burps, and laughed.
"That was delicious!" Pastri chirped.
"We should get going now." Linni said.
They walked outside, and tried to sense Ii's whereabouts.
"That's strange. I can't sense anything." said Pastri.
"Is it possible Ii is keeping his ki suppressed to confuse us?" Linni wondered.
The girls gave a worried stare to one other. This was getting serious.
"Then maybe he's on foot." Linni wondered.
"But how can we leave this cave? I mean, he might not be faraway and could see us." Pastri said.
Linni agreed and both looked around to see if Ii was in sight. No he wasn't. Pastri paced over to the water surrounding the island.
"Would swimming use a lot of ki?"
Linni smiled.
"What an idea Pastri, and as long we don't put too much energy into it, we should be fine. We'll swim to the closest island and hide there okay?"

The two girls both dived into the blue water, holding their breaths. Pastri tucked the Dragon Balls deep inside her pockets and followed Linni. Linni looked at her watch. She pressed some buttons, and a diagram of her surroundings appeared. Looking at the screen, she pointed at the direction for them to travel. After a few minutes of swimming, they resurfaced for air, after checking for Ii's presence. Their plan seemed to go on fine.

Sage stretched his arms and stood up.
"Thanks Dende-san. I feel good now."
Dende smiled.
Sage turned to Thyme and Rue. They were standing with Shin-Piccolo, talking among themselves.
"Hey guys! What are you all mumbling about over there? Fill me in!"
They turned around with worried faces.
"It's Ii Shenron. We can't sense his ki."
"Isn't that a sign of hope?" Dende said, "If you cannot sense him, then there is a possibility that he's dead isn't that right?"
Piccolo shook his head.
"He might be doing it deliberately to confuse us, especially Linni and Pastri."
"That's right." Thyme added, "But we can't sense them either. Something may have happened to them, or they're keeping their ki suppressed too."
"Then that means...we can't go help Linni and Pastri if we don't know where they are." Sage concluded.
There was a slight silence, when Dende walked over to Piccolo.
"Are you forgetting again Piccolo? The two girls have the Dragon balls with them, and so does Ii. You are in tuned with them, so you can feel their location."
The boys all smiled at the sign of hope.
"How could I have forgotten?!" Piccolo beamed, "So there's still hope."

Linni and Pastri were still swimming, and did run into a few snags with giant squids, fishes and octopuses, but they simply disposed of them. Suddenly the 2 Dragon Balls started to glow. They both stopped to look at them, and both gave a confused look. It was then they noticed that above the surface, they saw a faint blurry image. But it was simple to make out who it was...it was Ii-Shenron!
Pastri and Linni gasped, and air left their mouths. Quickly, they grabbed the air and put it back in their mouths. What were they to do?

Above the surface, Ii was flying, trying to keep his energy signal low, when he noticed his set of Dragon Balls glowing.
"What is this?"
He stopped and looked at them, wondering why they suddenly chose to glow.
:"Could it be?"
Ii looked around, and finally turned his gaze to the waters below him. It was faint, but it was there; a glow.
"It must be the two Dragon Balls!"
Ii laughed, and the two girls heard it. They were running out of air, and would have to resurface soon. They were in trouble.

"Maybe those kids put them in the water hoping I wouldn't locate them. Stupid kids."
Ii started to descend into the water, and the girls saw this. What were they to do? They had to protect the balls, and so they had no choice but to swim for it.
Ii was just above the water when he saw the glow move away.
"The balls...they are moving away from me." He glared, "I can sense two ki's...there must be two people trying to keep them away from me."
Ii laughed, and flew into the sky again. Linni and Pastri saw this and began to think they out swam him, but they were wrong. Ii held out his hands and began shooting into the water.
"Why chase the rats, while I can draw them out?!" Ii laughed devishly.
The girls freaked out, and swam crazy trying to avoid the balls of energy. Ii followed them, and the girls set their eyes on the islands they were heading too.

"Do you guys feel that?"
"I think that's them!"
"It is them!"
"It seems Ii has found Linni and Pastri. Lets motor. They won't be able to escape him for long."
And so Piccolo, Rue, Thyme and Sage flew into the sky and followed the ki signals into the distance, leaving Dende behind.

Linni and Pastri safely avoided the ki balls, but their faces were turning red. Their air was almost completely gone. Linni had to stop; she had to get some air, but Pastri grabbed her hand and pulled her away from the surface just as energy balls hit the water above them. Pastri then saw the edge of an island, and swam with all her might. It was then they saw it. An underwater tunnel. Without considering any dangers, they both swam into the tunnel, still with the sounds of explosions in the water. There! They saw it...it was light.
Finally reaching the surface, they gasped for air.
"That was intense!" Pastri cried, still huffing and puffing.
Linni looked around, also huffing and puffing.
"We're in a cave in an island that goes straight into the ocean."
"Lucky we chose this island." Pastri said.
The two walked out of the water onto the bank side.
"Ii's not throwing anymore attacks at us." said Pastri with relief.
"Yeah, that's because he knows were in here, and has us where he wants." Linni said alarmed. Both grew worried, and checked if the Dragon Balls were safe. They were.
"We can't just sit here Linni!"
"I know, but what can we do? Ii's waiting outside for us, and we got to protect the Dragon Balls."
The two girls looked at the 2 round objects and sighed.
"How could these 2 balls cause so much trouble?"
