Chapter 23 - No Way Out

Ii looked at the island that Pastri and Linni were hiding in.
"Glorious day! Today I will be at full power!"
Ii took a deep breath...
"I know you're in there!" he yelled, "and I know you have what I'm after! Give me the Dragon Balls and maybe I'll go easy on you!"
Everyone heard this...Linni, Pastri and even Piccolo and the boys.
After hearing this, the boys flew on faster, knowing that Pastri and Linni were in real trouble now.
Pastri was sitting down holding the Dragon Balls. She sniffed, and rubbed her nose. The water was real cold, and she accidentally breathed in some water when her air supply was running out. She turned to Linni who was looking out a crack on the side of the mountain.
"Is Ii still out there?"
"Yeah he is, and he looks like he ain't going anywhere else." Linni said, and sat beside Pastri.
"I can sense Piccolo, Rue, Sage and Thyme coming to help us, but they won't get here in time. I know it."
Pastri cast a worried look, and continued to listen to Ii's threats.
"Gokou...."

Ii looked for any movement. None. He was growing impatient.
"Fine. If that's how you feel about it, I will destroy the island you are hiding in. I'll give you the count of 10!"
Linni and Pastri gasped and stood up quickly.
"What are we to do?!" Linni asked.
Ii raised his hand and began to gather energy for the blast. His countdown began...

"10!..."
Linni and Pastri looked through the crack in the mountain and saw Ii and his ki attack.
"What should we do Linni?"
"Should we fight him?"
"Are you crazy?"
"Yeah! But what other options do we have?"
No reply.

"9!..."
Linni wiped the water off her face and turned to Pastri.
"Maybe we should fight?"
"It seems like the only choice."
"Yeah, but we can be killed today."
"I know, but we have to protect the Dragon Balls..."

"8!..."
"What to do? What to do?" Linni panicked.
Pastri stepped back and looked at the two Dragon Balls she held in her hands. They were the 6-star Dragon Ball and the 4-star Dragon Ball. She shut her eyes, trying to make a decision.

"7!..."
"Pastri! We're running out of time!"
No reply.
Linni turned around to see Pastri looking serious.
"What's the matter?"
Pastri looked up and walked over. She put the 2 dragon balls in Linni's hands.
"What are you doing Pastri?!"

"6!..."
Pastri smiled cheerfully.
"I want you to protect the Dragon Balls while I distract Ii-Shenron."
"WHAT?! Are you insane?" Linni cried, "I know this sounds brave and all, but I'm no chicken Pastri. I'm going to fight him too along beside you."
Pastri shook her head.
"You can't. I need someone to get these Dragon balls away."
"But..."

"5!..."
"...why does it have to be you Pastri? Why not me?"
Pastri touched the 4-star Dragon Ball.
"My grandmother use to tell me and Gokou a story...that our great ancestor, Son Gokou's, spirit is in it. You see I can't let Ii get a hold of it. I have to protect my great great grandfather's soul."
Linni's eyes widened.
"Are you out of your mind Pastri?! There's no such thing!"

"4!..."
Pastri turned serious again.
"I know it does Linni, but this is my way. Just do what I ask please?"
Linni sighed, and took the 2 Dragon Balls.
"Fine Pastri, but even though I'm older and I have to be more responsible-"
"Linni!"
"Alright already, go then!" Linni yelled.

"3!..."
"Thanks Linni."
"Whatever, but don't blame me if you get dead or hurt okay?"

"2!..."
Pastri chuckled.
"Sure Linni, its a deal."

"1!.."
"Good luck Pastri..."
"Thanks."

"0!"
Ii laughed.
"Too bad!"
He launched the ball, but a sharp disk of energy sliced through it, destroying the attack. Ii watched as the energy disk disappeared, and Pastri appeared.
Ii laughed.
"First a Namekseijin, human boys, and now a human girl? What is this world coming too?"
Pastri clenched her fists.
"Correction, I'm a Saiya girl."
Ii shrugged his shoulders.
"All the same...all weak. Now where are the Dragon balls little girl?"
"I don't have them."
"Then it must be with your other friend right?"
Pastri became stunned, and Ii laughed.
"I'm not a fool. I sensed two ki signals during your pitiful escape."
Ii looked at Pastri...
"But too bad that both of your efforts were a waste huh?"
"What?-"
Ii looked at the island, and his eyes glowed. The island exploded and debris scattered everywhere.
"LINNI!" Pastri cried.
Ii laughed.
"Oops, it seems like I destroyed the island."
Pastri yelled at Ii, telling him he destroyed the Dragon Balls too.
"Fool. With the 5 balls with me, I can see the glow of the other 2. What will I do, you ask? Well, I destroy everything around the balls."
Pastri grew dramatically angry.
"You...you...you'll die for that. Maybe not by me, but by my cousin...Gokou!"
Ii laughed, and watched as Pastri launched a bunch of attacks at him. Ii evaded them, and smacked her into another island. Pastri got up, pleasing Ii, and launched a Kame Hame Ha wave, but Ii just moved out of the way. Ii laughed, and threatened Pastri, but she wasn't done. Moving her arms in an anti-clockwise direction, she motioned her energy wave to turn back around and hit Ii straight in the back.
Pastri flew up into the sky, and looked around.
"I know you're still here Ii..."
She saw the smoke disappear and realized Ii was nowhere in sight.
"Where are you?" Pastri mumbled.
"Right behind you!" came Ii's voice.
Pastri turned around surprised, but couldn't move out of the way in time. Ii kicked Pastri away, and threw some ki strings that bided her. She screamed, and powered up, trying to escape, but Ii just tightened the strings. Holding the strings, he used it to toss Pastri sideways.
"Hold on! I'm going to throw you into a mountain!" Ii told her.
Ii kept turning around, faster and faster, building up speed, ready to throw...
Just as he was about to let go, a beam of sharp ki pierced the strings and released Pastri.
"What the-"
Pastri regained herself, and looked around.

"I'm here to help you Pastri."
