Dragon Ball/Z/GT Fan Fiction ❯ Dragon Ball XG ❯ Enerjak's Last Stand ( Chapter 20 )
"Akira?!" Vegeta blinked. He could have sworn just a moment ago the saiyan had been stabbed through the chest with a staff and left for dead.
The Super Saiyan Five uncorked the bottle and set it on the ground. Enerjak watched from above. "Moron!" he shouted, "Were you not paying attention last time? No tricks of yours are powerful enough to stop the greatest warrior the Earth has ever seen! Allow me to once again demonstrate my tricks!" He held his staff up, forming yet another energy ball, only this time this energy ball was surrounded by blazes of fire. He hurled the massive fireball at the ground below, mainly aimed at the Super Saiyan 5. Just as it was about to strike, setting the grass and building remains ablaze....
It has had stopped midway, just as before, and appeared to be rising back up. Snarling, Enerjak pointed his staff downwards, sending a force field downwards, trying to force the fireball back down, but it was useless. It kept coming back up towards him. As it came closer, Enerjak's eyes went as wide as saucers, seeing just how the fireball was returning... the super saiyan 5, single-handedly, was raising it up himself, and with just one hand, without a single sweat, not even from the heat! "No..!" he cried, "Who are you?!"
The golden-furred saiyan didn't respond, only gave a quick smirk as he reared back and chucked the fireball back at the tyrant. The Chikurian didn't have a second to react as he was struck by burning flames, burning away his clothes and melting his skin, and screaming in pain.
The super saiyan floated back down to the ground, just as the fireball began to die down, and the corpse-like skeletal body of Enerjak revealed through the flames. "Fool...." he murmured, "Do what you will... but I cannot be killed!!!" In a fit of insanity, he launched at the man, his staff extended. The saiyan, however, merely sidestepped as Enerjak swished his staff at air, and could not protect himself as the Level 5 saiyan twisted around and rammed his knee far in the dictator's gut. Enerjak gasped for breath, and was tossed off the saiyan's kneecap and struggled to simply walk straight. He didn't have the chance to even look up as his staff was suddenly snatched away... and snapped in two!
The super saiyan 5 huffed. "You call yourself the greatest warrior, but without your magic, you're nothing."
Enerjak growled fiercely. "Idiot..." he seethed, "I have just as much power within me as I did in that staff!!" He pulled back and released a massive scream, as a black aura escaped from his body and enveloped the entire area everyone stood in, the most of it surrounding the super saiyan. He struggled and shuddered under the immense pain... but it was clear that it wasn't clearly enough to hold him down as he casually looked back up at Enerjak and gave him another arrogant smile. Enerjak trembled at the sight. "N... no...! How is this possible?! NO ONE is greater than Enerjak!!"
"SHUT UP!" the saiyan screamed as he launched forward and socked the tyrant square in the face. Had he not been given immortality, the force would have surely knocked his skull off his neck, but instead, he was knocked out cold, and thus the black aura was released from everyone. The saiyan approached Enerjak, grabbed him by what was left of his belt, and tossed him high into the sky. "Stay up there for a second...."
He then leaped over to where the bottle still stood, and began performing the very same hand movements that Akira had done earlier. A gust of wind was able to bring Enerjak back to reality, and he managed to glance down at the source of the wind. This strange man was causing the disturbing in the course of nature. The earth below cracked and shook and a blue aura flashed around him as the wind kicked up. Whatever this attack was, he would not allow them to try it again!
He extended his palm out, and the tiny red orb, containing a knocked out Kumo, flew straight into his hand. He immediately turned himself around to face the man and proudly display the orb like a prize. "If you wish to take me out," he called down, "Then I will gladly take my apprentice with me! Do you understand??"
The saiyan below looked as if he understood... but also didn't care. He glared at the skeletal Chikurian as he quickly placed his left hand on his right arm, and pointed upwards with his right two main fingers at Enerjak.
"STOP!!!!" Goten cried, "Don't do it!!! He's got Kumo!!!" He tried running at the super saiyan 5, but was held back by Vegeta.
"Knock it off!" the saiyan prince yelled, "Let Akira do his thing!! This may be the only shot we have left to get rid of Enerjak!"
Enerjak, meanwhile, was now getting scared. This time, the golden saiyan didn't seem phased one bit that he'd be getting rid of his friend... This time, he was really serious! "No.... NO!" he screamed as he turned tail to escape, "I won't let you defeat me!!!"
He didn't get far before the saiyan shot his palms into the air and shouted, "EVIL CONTAINMENT!!!"
And the next thing Enerjak knew, he was trapped in an enormous green wave, spinning around as if he were caught in a tornado. He tried to pull away, but the immense power of the Mafuba was too strong for the "strongest and most powerful warrior" in the world.
The saiyan carefully maneuvered the wave with his hands, and directed it precisely over the bottle. Once he had it right where he wanted, he immediately shot his arms downward, and the attack that contained the evil tyrant suddenly shot into the sky, and redirected downward heading straight for the bottle. Just before he went in, the saiyan quickly lurched forward and zipped by Enerjak, snatching something from his hand, and landing on one knee many feet away as the tyrant dictator landed straight inside the bottle, the force rocking it back and forth fiercely until he was finally in it. The saiyan then flicked a cork off of his thumb, and it landed squarely in the bottle's opening.
Enerjak was finally gone.
Everyone looked on in stunned silent awe at what had just happened. After a long moment, Gohan finally broke the silence. "Beautiful!!!" he cried as he got up off the king, whom he was protecting, "And to think!! Just earlier, he couldn't even aim the darn thing correctly!!"
"KUMO! NO!" Goten raced towards the bottle, grabbing for it, but Vegeta once again held him back.
"Idiot!!" he shouted, "Are you trying to release him??"
"Kumo's in there!!" Goten cried, "We gotta get him out!!!"
"You uncork that thing and we're back to square one!! Get a hold of yourself, boy!!"
Goten stopped struggling and just stared hopelessly at the bottle. "But... Kumo...!"
"He's right here..."
Everyone turned to see the Super Saiyan Five standing before everyone. In his arms, an unconscious boy.
"KUMO!" Goten cried, racing over and immediately taking his son into his own arms and holding him closely. "Kumo, wake up!! Are you okay??"
"He's just fine," the saiyan responded, smiling, "You should be very proud, Goten. For a child, he's quite strong."
Goten smiled back, and hugged his son tightly, a tear rolling down his cheek. "Thank you, Akira..."
"Yeah, gotta say!" Gohan cheered, walking up to the group, "You really saved the day. Way to go, Akira!"
The level 5 super saiyan only smirked in response.
"Uh.... guys? Akira's right here..."
Everyone turned to Pan, and were shocked to see Akira, still unconscious and bleeding from the chest and back, held in Pan's arms. They were loss for words as they turned back to face the super saiyan 5, and back at Akira clearly not a super saiyan at the moment.
"W... wait..." Gohan stuttered, "If... If Akira's there..." He pointed at the super saiyan, "Then... who are you?"
The saiyan gave a warm smile once more. "Let's just say I'm someone who'll always watch over you guys. Take care!" And with that, he took of into the sky and flew away. Nobody knew where he went off to, or even feel or sense who he was. Like Akira, the stranger didn't emit any ki, even during his attacks.
"How strange..." Goten muttered as they looked on into the sky.
"Yeah..." Pan stood up and slung Akira over her shoulder, "But do you think we can worry about that after we take Akira to get healed?!"
The king, meanwhile, looked from the sky, to the group before him that saved his life. His father always talked about the hectic job he had ruling over this world... he had no idea just how literal it was until now!
ooo
"You realize that you have broken a very crucial rule in the code of the Dragon Realm!" a large and high deity boomed to a smaller (in size) man before him. "You are never to directly interfere in the affairs of the other planets! I will overlook it just this once.... But please remember that such actions can result in severe punishments!"
"Okay, I know, I'm sorry," the man waved his hands while smiling sheepishly, "But I couldn't help myself! I had to do something! I mean, after all.... he is my grandson."
ooo
Luckily, the group had managed to rush Akira back to Master Roshi's house in time before he could make a turn for the worst, and place the saiyan in the portable rejuvenation chamber that Bulma had brought along intentionally for Vegeta. While Akira rested in the chamber, Trunks rushed to Korrin's for senzu beans, and returned to give one to the young man, thus returning him back to his regular strength. This however didn't stop Chichi from forcing her grandson-in-law to stay in bed for days and feeding him chicken soup.
Despite he was grounded for unleashing an evil dictator upon the world, one day, Goten and Valese allowed Kumo to go out with Zurosu and Giru...
ooo
"Miss Marrrronnn!!!" Kumo shouted as he banged on the door of Krillin's house, "Open up! Hellooo, anyone hoooome??"
"Alright, alright, I'm coming, hold your horses!" the door finally opened revealing the aging Krillin, who's annoyed look faded to a smile when he saw the little boy, "Oh Kumo! How've you been?"
"Is Marron home?" Kumo completely ignored the old man's question.
Krillin somberly looked back inside, "Sorry kiddo, but she's really not in the mood to go out anywhere. She's been pretty depressed lately..."
"Could you please ask her to come out? Pretty pleeease?" the boy begged, "It's really really important..."
ooo
"GAHH!" Marron cried, covering her eyes as she was carried her under her armpits high in the sky, "Kumo, be careful!!! You know I'm afraid of heights!!!"
"It's okay, Miss Marron!" Kumo called as he crazily flew through the air, "We're almost there!"
Unknown to the woman, who had her eyes tightly covered, he was flying her towards the ruins of the Arnax Kingdom, which has been closed down ever since the attack. Little Zurosu and the small robot Giru waited down below, waving them down, neither of them liking to have to be alone in the dark, depressing city. Kumo flew down and placed Marron on her feet. Once she felt she was on solid ground, she removed her hands from her face and looked down at the kids, the robot, and...
"The Dragon Balls?" Marron blinked at the sight of the glowing orange orbs, "What are you guys up to?"
The two grinned while Giru gave a thumbs up. "You'll see!" they all responded.
Kumo then turned to the balls, thought back to what Bra had said when she summoned the dragon, then upon remembering, held his hands over them. "Come on up, Dragon, and give us wishes!!"
The sky grew dark (darker than it normally was in Arnax), the Dragon Balls glowed brighter, and a blinding light shot into the sky. Marron watched in amazement. The last time she saw the Dragon being called forth, she was only three years old. Zurosu grabbed Marron's leg and hid her face in it. This was the first time she saw the Dragon come out, and it was rather scary for her. Giru buried his face in Zurosu's back, since apparently everything scared him.
The bright light stretched and morphed into a figure, and the figure dissolved into a giant, formal looking dragon, fancy kimono and all. Marron gaped at him. "Woah, THIS is the new Shenron??"
The dragon smiled down at the group below. "You have summoned me," he spoke in a deep, yet soothe voice, "Please give me the password, and I will grant you two wishes."
Kumo blinked, "Password? Uh oh..." He looked down to the ground, trying to remember what the password was. "Uh......" he glanced up at the dragon, "Slug butt?"
The dragon blinked and cocked an eyebrow. "Er... no. Try again."
Kumo scratched the back of his head, "Oops... I forgot what the password was...."
Zurosu looked up at Marron, who shrugged, and then looked up at the dragon, "Soda pop?"
The dragon shook his head. "Sorry."
Kumo scrunched his face, trying to think back. "Eh... um.... OH WAIT! I remember!" he cried, "CELERY GOD!!!"
The dragon nearly fell backwards, a huge sweat bead forming on the side of his face. He took a deep breath and shook his head. "Well, you don't look as if you have any evil intentions, so I'll let it pass this time. But please remember that the password is 'Selurukog'."
"Ohhh!" Kumo grinned sheepishly, "THAT'S what it was! Heeheeheeheeee!" He looked back up at the dragon, "Anyway, can you please bring back to life everyone who was killed by Enerjak?"
The dragon smiled and nodded. "It is done." He held up his hand and emitted a small glow.
ooo
Family and friends were gathered around the very spot where a police officer was killed in the line of duty after facing off with a strange man who claimed to be the ancient Lord Enerjak of Arnax.
"He will greatly be missed.... he was one heck of a cop, and a loving husband, father, and son...."
"Sheesh, being at your own funeral is a big bring down..."
Everyone turned in horror at the sight of the very man that had died a week ago. They then screamed, clutched their chests, and fell backwards.
The man blinked. "Uh.... Are you all okay?"
ooo
At King Castle, the King of the World watched and supervised while his workers began reconstruction of the castle. He twisted his head in shock at the sound of screaming, turning to see many officers who were killed by Enerjak, and freaking out that they were alive, and others who were killed were back to life too.
Everyone was shocked and surprised at the sight, but the King merely smiled broadly. He had not only learned from his father about the crazy (not to mention threatening) events that happened on Earth, but their resolutions as well... People who were killed were known to miraculously return to life.
And it usually had to do with those groups of flying heroes.
The king looked to the heavens with that broad smile of his. "Thank you, warriors... You are the true rulers of Earth."
ooo
Marron scratched the back of her head. "Well that was really nice of you guys," she said, "But what exactly did you need me here for?"
"Marron...?"
The blonde's eyes went wide at the sound of the familiar voice, while Kumo and Zurosu smiled on. She hastily turned around to the sight of the 1,040-year-old prince of Arnax. "Z.... Zayde!!"
"Marron... what's happening?" the Chikurian looked around himself, "Why am I alive again? What's going--" He froze at the sight of Kumo, and immediately dropped to a stance, "ENERJAK!!!"
Kumo was taken back, while Zurosu jumped in front of him, waving her hands around. "No no, it's okay!" she cried, "He's not Enerjak anymore! He's Kumo again!"
Zayde snarled, "It's because of him anyway that Enerjak was released to begin with!!"
"Zayde!" Marron shouted, "It's because of him that you're back to life!"
"What's so great about that?" Zayde roared, clearly not appreciative, "I've already been alive for more than a thousand years! To bring me back in this hell--!"
*SLAP!*
Marron's hand struck against Zayde's cheek. "INGRATEFUL JERK!" she cried, "They were only trying to help you! Maybe it WAS better off that you were dead!"
Zayde looked at the blonde woman, rather shocked, touching his cheek. All the time they've worked with each other, he had never seen her this upset before. He then glanced over at Kumo. "So... where is Enerjak?"
"My dad and everyone else put him away in a bottle, then I think dropped him in the ocean somewhere," the quarter-saiyan replied.
Zayde lowered his eyelids and looked to the ground. "For as long as he isn't dead... I won't be able to die either." He sighed sadly, "I'll be forced to live for another eternity..."
"Tell me, boy," the deep voice of the dragon caught everyone's attention, though he was looking directly at Zayde, "When I informed you that you were being wished back, you could have denied the offer. So why did you choose to come back when you so desired death?"
"Well..." Zayde nervously glanced around himself as he tried to answer, "I mean... I thought Enerjak was still around, or something, and you all needed me. Besides..." His eyes met Marron's, and he quickly looked away, his cheeks going slightly pink.
"Are you sure about all that?" the dragon seemed to be teasing.
Kumo smiled brightly as an idea formed in his head. "Hey dragon!" he called up, grabbing its attention, "D'ya think for our second wish we can make it so that Zayde can die? I mean, not right now, just eventually, or something..."
The dragon smiled once more. "If what you mean is to release Zayde from his 'eternal life' curse, then... it is done." He raised his palm again, emitting a small glow once more. A clear aura began to glow around Zayde for a moment, and then quickly died down.
"Your wishes have been granted," spoke the dragon, "Until the next calling..." He gave a quick but polite bow just before his figure morphed back into a blinding light, which then dropped back into the Dragon Balls. The balls then shot up into the air, set off an explosion of light, and shot off in seven different directions.
As the sky cleared up (thought it barely made a difference, considering where they were), Zayde looked down at the two children and their pet robot. "Well... thanks, you guys, but.... What was that all about?"
Kumo grinned. "Well, before you kick the bucket anytime soon, you've gotta get married to Marron first!"
At this, both Marron and Zayde turned deep crimson in the face. "Kumo, really!" Marron shrieked, covering her blushing face with her hands, "I mean, he doesn't have to if he doesn't want to! I mean, it's up to him! I mean.... uh.... mean...."
She went silent as she felt a cool touch on her shoulder. Making an opening in her eye, she glanced over to see Zayde, for the first time, giving her a sincere smile. "Actually, Marron... I have been lonely all these centuries." With that, he pulled her close and gazed into her eyes, "Before I go, I would like to spend the rest of my life with you..."
Marron gazed back, her cheeks pink and her eyes glazed with tears. "Oh Zayde...."
As their lips moved in closer...
"Awwwww!!!"
"Ewwwww!!!"
"How romantic! -GIRU-"
They stopped mere centimeters away and glanced down at Kumo, Zurosu, and Giru, staring up at them with mixed reactions. Zayde rolled his eyes. "Okay, you guys, you did your part, now beat it!"
Kumo groaned while Zurosu pouted. "Aww, do we have to?"
Zayde sneered, and brandished his glaive, that happened to be resurrected along with him. "YES!"
The children yelped and jumped back. Kumo grabbed Zurosu and Giru's hands. "Er, come on, I guess they want their privacy. Last one back to Capsule Corp. is a rotten egg!!" And with that, the three launched into the air and flew off.
Marron shook her head. "Really, Zayde, that wasn't very nice," she scolded, "I guess there are some things about you that just won't change.
Zayde didn't answer.... He only grabbed Marron, tipped her, and pressed his lips against hers.
The future was looking bright for this couple... as well as for the ruined kingdom of Arnax...
And especially for the entire world.
The End......
...........
.........NOT!!!!!!
