A glass of cold milk fell, shattering into dozens of tiny pieces as it hit the kitchen floor. Bulma Briefs, head and owner of Capsule Corp. stood above the mess, her body shaking as her eyes gazed over to the piece of paper in her hand. "Dear Dende," she choked out, slowly seating herself at a stool. "She-she's alive. My baby.. is alive!"
FLASHBACK
"AAAAAAAAAAARRRRGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" Bulma's screams rang though the hospital, echoing off the walls and breaking numerous nearby glasses. Her screams coiled with curses and threats of all kinds against her husband Vegita whom, at this time, was absent from the room and, unbeknownst to her, absent from the building itself. Many of the staff wished they could join him.
"Mrs. Vegita Briefs?"
Bulma looked up, exhausted as a nurse entered the room, yet a large smile on her face. "Yes?" she asked plainly, much sweeter than before.
The nurse whom had been just about ready to jump out the window, sighed deep with relief and lightened up. "I've come to inform you that, when we delivered your babies, there-"
"Wait wait," Bulma halted. "Babies? As in plural?" She sat up, surprise and curiosity over-taking her.
The nurse gulped and nodded. "Yes ma'am, twins. But.. there was a problem."
Bulma continued with silence, awaiting in fearful anticipation.
The nurse sighed. "I'm afraid.. one of your children did not make it. I'm sorry.."
Bulma's eyes widened, her face filling with tears. "Not.. make it? Dead?"
The nurse nodded. "I'm sorry, ma'am, truly."
Bulma gasped a sob. "Vegita-my husband. Does he know.. there were two of them?"
The nurse shook he head. "No ma'am. I'll bring you your other child, though, if you wish."
Bulma nodded, and watched as the kindly woman left to fetch her child.. her survivor. Vegita didn't know. Perhaps, she thought, it would be for the best..
END FLASHBACK
Bulma shook her head, she never did tell Vegita - there was never any need to. They had been very happy growing up with their daughter Bra. Bulma grasped the piece of paper in her hand tight. Her baby was alive!
Her face widened into a large smile, and immediately she raced to a phone. She was going to get her daughter back!
