Hey there, I got the idea for this fic from a few places, one being a picture of the Son family in Saiya-jin armor, another being a fanfic I'm reading plus some old ideas I had. The main characters will be Trunks, Pan, and Goten. but the others will have a large role as well, that's all you get for now, next update, tomorrow.

DragonBall Z: A different path.

Many Years ago

The Saiya-jin race had been dominated for eons by the Tyrant Frieza, controlled and used as foot soldiers in a galactic race for total supremacy, however Frieza had grown tired of the façade of an alliance between himself and the Saiya-jin ruler, so Frieza solved the problem as he solved all his problems, he killed the king. However the Saiya-jin race did not cow to his will at this display, they revolted, led by a lower class warrior known as Bardock, the Saiya-jins fought back Frieza's army, slaughtering its ranks and sending the tyrant cowering for his life, swearing vengeance. At the end of the war Bardock stood on the steps of the Royal Palace, he knelt down in front of the young Prince Vegeta, but he was a prince no longer, "My lord," Bardock began, "We have won, the Saiya-jins are victorious"

Some Years Ago…

The one man pod crashed landed into the grassy field, vapour hissed from it as the insides pressure changed to match that of the outside and the hatch slid open and Radditz climbed out into the clear morning. "Well, it appears Kakarott didn't destroy earth after all." His scouter blipped and pointed in a north east direction, registering an extremely high power level, "Well, it seems that Kakarott has survived."

Goku and Radditz met for the first time that day, Raditzz tried to explain Goku's heritage to him, show him that he was a Saiya-jin warrior, of legendary descent no less. But Goku would have none of it, thus Radittz vowed to return again, with his Lord Vegeta.

This brought them half a year later when Vegeta, King of the Saiya-jin race landed in a space pod, accompanied by Radditz, a brute of a Saiya-jin named Nappa, and his proof that Goku was of alien lineage, on that day Goku not only met his Twin brother Turles, but his father, Bardock. Goku's family agreed to go to Vegeta-sei, to see what it was like, and over time they decided to live there, though they took trips back to earth, during this time Vegeta mated with another earthling, friend to Kakarott, the woman, Bulma. At their wedding ceremony Vegeta also made a royal decree that the Earth would always be under Saiya-jin protection and that the third class warrior Kakarott was no more, and in his place, was the son of Bardock, and Saiya-jin elite, Goku.

Years later, after the birth of their second son, Goten, Goku's wife Chi-chi would be struck down by a fatal heart dissease, Goku, his 16 year old son Gohan, Goten, and Bulma would return to earth to bury Goku's love with her family, however upon their return, Gohan was not with them. Vegeta and Bulma's son, heir to the thrown, is now a startling young man and a true warrior, Goten has become his Personal guard, confident, and closest friend, mirroring the relationship shared by their fathers. This is where our story begins…
