“How can you say these things to me Vegeta?” She sobbed quietly. Things had gone so wrong...
“Easily. How could you betray me?” He stood before her, his ceremonial armour shining brightly in the moons light. How could this be happening?
“B-betray? I haven't betrayed you! How can you think such a thing!” She cried harder, falling to the ground in disgrace. Her beautiful black gown dirtied by the grass, her silver jewelled chain glinted in the light. She'd spent so long preparing for tonight...
“Stop lying Bulma! I've been shown evidence of your betrayal by Salkirh!” He bared his teeth angrily. His whole body tense. He hadn't wanted to believe it was true, but the proof had stopped all questions and destroyed any doubt. This was all her fault...
“She's lying to you! I would never betray... never!” Her voice was becoming so choked on tears, she could barely talk. And so lapsed into painful crying. She should have known things were too good to have been true. How could you believe her over me...
His lip curled in disgust. He stormed towards her in fury, pure anger emanating from him. He roughly pulled her up by her arm, and shoved her against the cold white stone wall, his hand closed tightly around her neck. The dazzling jewel necklace broke, and fell to the ground in a clatter. Her crying suddenly ceased, and she stared at him, her breath ragged and coarse. I'm the one who's been betrayed...
“I should kill you Bulma... Do you know what you have done to the resistance?” He searched her eyes, red and glazed though they were. “If I don't kill you... you will be torn apart by the others as soon as you leave my protection.” He snarled at her angrily. “Do you want that?” She gave no answer, but a small involuntary noise in her closed throat. “DO YOU WANT THAT?!” He roared at her, he shook her, her body slamming against the wall. I'm giving up...
But she just said the same thing. “I didn't betray you Vegeta...” Her voice was steady, and she looked defiant as a silent tear flowed down her pale cheek. The fight was over for her...
“Enough of your lying... I'm doing this for your own good Bulma...” He raised his hand, gathering energy there. I could never tell you how I feel right now...
He looked into her deep blue eyes. 'Prove your innocence...tell me something... anything...' His mind screamed to her. 'Don't make me do it...'
But she did nothing. She simply stood there, pinned helplessly. He shook his head so slightly it could have been missed. “I'm sorry Bulma...” His eyes were narrow and he let her see how disappointed he was. Don't look at me like that...
It was just as he was about to release the energy, that she spoke. Her words were cold, and she let the anger be heard. “Not as sorry as I am Vegeta...” She lowered her voice as much as she could, so the others could not hear as they stood a little way away watching. And she delievered the killing blow with her next words.
