I swear that one day, I'll be myself again.
Now I see how this life was meant to be,
what I am, what I've become, is all that I have left.---Death for Every Sin

Vegeta eyes slid open without the usual tiredness everyone else has when just awakening. His eyes caught the ceiling above in confusion wondering how the hell he got upon this bed he was now wrapped up in. Rolling his head he caught sight of the lavender ball of hair that laid upon crossed arms on the bed. “Trunks.” Vegeta whispered slightly.
The boy soon rose with squinting eyes filled with the swollenness of sleep and yawning wide before finding the cold eyes of his fathers. Instantly he threw himself upon the man. “You’re finally awake. You worried me, dad.”
Vegeta flabbergasted awkwardly placed his hand on the silk hair, reassuring the boy without even realizing what he was doing. Scowling now at his betraying hand, Vegeta quickly snapped. “The hell is the matter with you?” He frowned deeper at the gentleness of his tone.
Trunks lifted himself away, embarrassingly hanging his head as he placed himself back in his chair beside the bed. “Sorry.” He whispered.
“What happened?”
“I was hoping you could tell me that. You’ve been unconscious for three days. And your ki was on the brink of super Sayian and you had temperature of hundred-twenty. And your skin, gave me first degree burns when I went to pick you up. It seemed you just fainted by the fire and was buried by two feet of snow. Mom said that it was nothing to worry about but…How do you feel?”
“Hungry. And thirsty.”
The boy laughed lightly, “I’ll go make something real quick. Here.” The kid gabbed the tele-com on the side table and placed it on the bed, “Call mom. I think she’s more worried then she let on.”
Vegeta watched his child leave the room with a confused indent on his forehead. Why had Trunks been sitting asleep next to him? Shaking his head, he pressed the speed button for the woman and instantly her face appeared on the screen though it was only a side view for she seemed to be writing something. “What do you want?” She snapped, refusing to look up.
“I can name a few things.” He smirked upon seeing her wide, hopeful, beautiful eyes shine up at him.
“OH thank Kami.” She whispered touching the screen as if feeling his cheek which he wished was possible. “Are you okay?” She questioned full of concern.
“Of course, woman.” He scoffed wanting to swat away her hand though rolling his eyes because he couldn’t.
“What happened to you? If it’s really that bad maybe going off the drugs was a bad idea. I don’t like this Veg--”
“Stop babbling woman. It will not happen again.”
“How do you know?”
“Since when did I have to explain anything to you?”
“Since you rammed your fangs into my neck!” He chuckled at her anger and she smiled in response.
“It won’t, woman. It’s over.”
“Over? You mean the worst part of it?” He nodded. “So you can come home?”
“Not yet. My ki is still unstable.”
“Well hurry your ass up, Vegeta!”
“Impatient to have me back in bed, woman?”
“If only that was it. Bra has been awful since you left. Apparently you never said good-bye to her and she took it very personal. She throws tantrums left and right, not to mention when you return I am taping your mother shut for she has a very high vocabulary list of the x-rated part of the dictionary. She has spent more then half the time since you left in her room.”
“Your mouth is more foul then mine.”
“It didn’t use to be!.”
Vegeta laid his head back comfortably against the pillows just to look upon her. He felt his blood stir when she licked her lips, pointing out to him why exactly he was thousands of miles away from her. “What is wrong with you?” He questioned with a frown finding her pale features and black swollen bags under her eyes quiet disturbing. He mentally tried to locate her ki but it was too low for him to pinpoint from so far away.
“Just extremely exhausted. Between everything that’s going on with Capsule Corps. And taking care of Bra on the sidelines, not to mention trying to give all my attention to Nesa and the new baby, things have just not been going so well. I’ve been so tired lately…Nothing for you to worry about. I just want you to concentrate on getting better. That’s why you’re so far away.” She smiled reassuringly, knowing the look of his eyes. He didn’t believe a word she spoke but there was nothing else she could tell him. “I’m fine really. All I want is for you to get back to me as quick as possible. Now, I need to go. I’ll call you guys soon. Love you.” She hurriedly clicked off.
Vegeta frowned though throwing the machine to the side. But dwelling on it wasn’t an issue for that moment Trunks and Goten entered with four trays piled with food in their hands.

Vegeta exited the house, finding his son sitting calmly by the fire, his blue eyes shaded with the darkness of the night but glistened by the fire. He took a seat across from the young boy, Trunks eyes snapping to him as if realizing there was someone there. He smiled instantly, “Hey dad. Get bored?” Vegeta shrugged, continuous his hard gaze on the child.
For the past three weeks Trunks’ ki has been too strong for him to be comfortable with. Vegeta needed to be reassured before they were to head back in a few days that Trunks had finally overcome the withdrawal. However by the dazed distance expression of the child’s eye, he could tell that no matter if the symptoms had stopped, the boy felt the full effect of it still in his heart. Betrayal wasn’t something a Sayian dealt with easily. No matter how much Trunks was raised in human ways, Sayian blood coursed through his veins and it begged for revenge. If above all else, Vegeta understood this. “That woman of yours,” He learned awhile ago to refrain from calling Nesa his mate. “Is at the house.”
“I know.” He nodded, his eyes falling back to the fire.
“What do you plan to do?”
That smile quickly formed and he looked up at his father, “I’m okay, Dad.”
“You’re lying, boy. You know you cannot lie to me.”
He laughed lightly, leaning over resting his elbows on his knees. “Yeah. I know.” Trunks didn’t say anything for a few minutes though all the while feeling his father’s cold gaze. “I don’t want to face her yet. I don’t think I’m ready.”
“Then don’t.”
“But I can’t keep running away from her. I have to face her. I don’t want her to know how badly she’s effected me, you know? That use to be you I always avoided when it came to pain. And I still do I guess on some levels, but now I’m not so ashamed to show a bit of what I’m feeling. With her though. I really don’t think it will matter. She was wrong. She knows it. She was stupid. She knows that too. I mean what can I possibly say that she hasn’t all ready thought of?” Trunks wasn’t looking for a response so none was given. “She feels bad enough, no point in making it worse.” He stalled. “But that’s the human part of me.” He sighed, standing now to his feet. His footprints crunching the snow beneath. “The Sayian part…just wants to cause her so much pain. She used me, Dad.” He looked to the man. “I knew there would be girls out there thinking they could use me for my money but what she wanted…She wanted me in a sense. But she only wanted me because she was scared. I see that now. I didn’t before. I actually thought you know, that I got lucky. I’m young but I all ready met the girl of my dreams. And all ready I had a family with her. It was hard in the beginning, I won’t deny that. But as it continued, it got better. And I started to like it. And I could see myself years from now still with her. With my…With my son.” Vegeta witnessed the tremble of his son’s lip at that last sentence but he pretended to have not noticed. Trunks quickly gained his composure. “I just…I didn’t expect it. And it hurts.” The tear slid down his pale cheek but he did nothing to hide it. He knew it would be fruitless anyway. “It felt as if she had just ripped my heart from my chest and dug her nails into every muscle. Why do people do that, dad? Why do people want to hurt people?”
“To get what they want, boy. You should know that by now.”
“But I would have given her everything. She didn’t have to lie. Even if the child wasn’t mine, she didn’t have to lie.” Vegeta had no response no matter how Trunks desperately searched for any answer with his glistening eyes. “What would you have done if mom had cheated on you with someone else and it was really that guy’s and not yours. But she stringed you along anyway. Just because. And when I was born and you saw me, what would you have done?”
“It doesn’t matter, Trunks. I’m a pure-blood, brought up different. There is no point to that question.”
“Do you think I’m overacting? I guess that is where I was going with that questioned.”
“If anything you are not angry enough.”
“But screaming will get me no where. If I learned anything when I was a kid watching you two fight all the time I learned that much. All screaming does is cause more pointless pain and anger. I don’t want that.”
“You can be angry without needing to yell.”
“I know but I just don’t have the energy for it. I don’t want to be angry. I don’t want to be sad. I just want it to all go away.”
“That is not going to happen, unless you face the problem.”
“And that’s where I get stuck.” The boy plopped himself on the log once again, now holding his head in his hands.
“Trunks.” Vegeta stood and stepped to the boy, waiting only a few moments till those glistening replica eyes of his mother connected with his. “You will face your problems. Because it is your blood. And you will be strong. Because that is what you are. Understood?” The tears fell from the sky orbs but Trunks nodded with a small smile. “Good.”

Some call it spying but to Vegeta it’s observing without the person’s knowledge. The curtains that draped over the balcony doors flapped wildly in the wind, helping to hide his small, powerful form in the shadows. His eyes stayed glued to her, watching the woman he could only dream of touching for a whole month run her hands through her short hair. She had been working for the past twenty minutes at her desk in the bedroom but now it seemed she finally wanted to call it quits. He had hoped she would since it was three in the morning. She should be dead asleep and her body knew it. It lagged across the floor, wanting just to go to bed and still Bulma denied.
She rid herself of her shirt revealing no bra to his eyes, however that was all the energy she had. Her naked chest swayed and Vegeta could do nothing to keep his eyes from making contact with her soft nipples and full breasts. It’s amazing how such trivial things such as breasts could be so appetizing and arousing. Vegeta silently chuckled when she threw herself upon the bed, resting on her stomach, and folding her arms under her head for support. And only after a few moments did he make out the shaking of her shoulders.
Vegeta allowed himself to step threw finally. With his super powered speed he rid himself of all his clothes and boots without one sound and only when he leaned over her to let his hands glide up her smooth back did she finally realize she had been watched.
She gasped, turning her body sideways at the intruder and when she caught the sight of her gorgeous husband she could do nothing but wrap her arms around his neck and hold him tight on top of her, crying softly, shamefully into his neck. “Don’t ever leave me again.” She whispered against him, trying her best to stop her unrelenting sobs. Her nails dug into his warm shoulders and her cheek laid upon his skin. His own arms were locked tight around her and she could hear him take many deep breaths. It made her smile of the meaning.
“Stop this, woman. What is the matter with you?” He questioned however his voice was of a gentle authorize only he could create. Vegeta didn’t receive an answer only felt her grip harder against him. He rolled to his side to see her but she curled into a ball and buried herself further into him. As much as he wanted to know what the hell was the matter with her and as much as he wanted to pull her away and demand she tell him, Vegeta grabbed the sheets and draped them over their forms. It wasn’t until an hour later her tears finally dried and she fell into a deep sleep, leaving Vegeta to contemplate for the rest of the night on the meaning of her pain.
