Chapter 4

Opening the door to her house, Tifa was afraid of what her parents would do to her for being so late. She sat quietly on the couch as she waited for them to come into the living room, after all she could hear them talking in the next room. She didn't know how she was going to explain it or even how she was going to get away to get to Goten. Every year during spring break, she had kept to herself in her room, which had almost suited her parents just fine. Almost because they were glad she was away from boys, but almost because she nearly bit their heads off.

They were not aware Tifa was a saiyan; in fact, she had never even given them a clue. When she was a child they had noticed her tail after they adopted her, and had cut it off. They were only trying to make her seem normal, but she was still bitter about it. Luckily they were not wealthy enough to have it surgically removed, so it grew back almost a year later. They, of course, did not know that it grew back, and she never intended to tell them. They were even more in the dark about why she hid herself away during spring break.

The worst part of all was that she would not tell them why she hid herself away. This led them to many ridiculous, horrible conclusions that had never been and never would be true. At one point they thought she had been sexually abused as a child and at another point they thought she was doing drugs. Many other crazy ideas came to them too, but she ignored them now. Her parents also had short fuses and a little boy-phobia. They got mad at her easily because she would not tell them things, and were constantly giving her sex talks and telling her she couldn't have a boyfriend.

This, more than anything, was the biggest concern. She would be betraying any trust they did have for her. She didn't love them, after all they weren't her real parents, but she did prefer they trust her. She drifted from her thoughts to see her mother walk into the room followed by her father. At first they seemed shocked that she was sitting there, then they seemed mad. After a very long argument in which they yelled at her and she sat and took it, she asked them quietly if it was okay if she went on a trip this spring break. At first they looked at her as though she were an alien (author humor noted), and then they promptly said no. All night she begged them, telling them that it was just a camping trip. Still, they refused.

Angry that she had not gotten her way, Tifa marched upstairs but quietly closed the door. The last thing she needed was to wake up her little 13-yr. old sister, who was the actual daughter of the family she lived with, so that that little pest could harass her too. Locking the door behind her, she went into her bathroom and started a shower. Returning to her room, she pulled out some pajamas before going back to the steaming tub to think.

She sat deep in thought in her tub for a while, trying to figure a way out of this mess without getting into some trouble. Finally she gave up and decided to think it over in the morning. Silently she washed, giving extra attention to her vagina. Gently she ran her fingers over it, telling herself that in two days Goten would be doing the same thing. Dreaming of Goten, she shuddered when she accidentally brushed her nub. She shook her head and sat up. If she didn't get out of the tub now, her parent might freak out and try to get in. Worse, they would hear her if she kept this up.

Tifa pulled herself out of the tub and dried off. Planted firmly in bed with her pajamas on, she brushed her hair-it didn't really need it, she is a full saiyan so her hair sticks the same way- and laid down. Pulling the blankets tight around her, she fought the need to touch herself again. Groaning lightly, she rolled over with the knowledge that mating season had officially begun stuck in her head.

Goten awoke to more groans and moans the next morning, so he tried to stay in his room. When he was younger, he had nearly seen some mind-blowing stuff, but Gohan had always kept Goten away. There was no doubt in Goten's mind that Gohan had accidentally stumbled upon something of the same magnitude, and he really didn't want to see his parents doing that. Sighing, he nearly went back to sleep when he remembered where he had to be tomorrow. He shot out of his bed to find his camping pack so that he could take some clothes with him.

It took about an hour for him to find his pack, and another hour for him to pack He knew it was kind of silly to take so much, but he wasn't sure how long they would be in heat. After all, he had no experience with how long a saiyan stayed in heat if they did mate. He was sure his father did, but he preferred not to venture that far. As stealthily as he could, he went to the kitchen to get something to eat- a saiyan after all, never skips a meal.

Tifa woke up late the next morning. She hadn't set her alarm clock, but she was usually an early riser. Rolling out of bed, she went downstairs to get some cereal. Pulling out the bowl and cereal, she was going back to the table to start her breakfast when she met the disgruntled looks of her parents. For a second she was intimidated, but only for a second. Angrily she demanded to know what they were looking at, and they grumped and told her with snide smiles that she was still not going camping tonight. At first she had to make sure she heard right. She wasn't even going to bring it up today, she was planning to just go anyway. Shaking her head in disgust and annoyance, she sat down and ate her cereal. Her parents just smiled to each other like they'd done the most fabulous parenting in the world.

Then her sister came downstairs. Gail had to be the most annoying thing in existence. Gail was short for Abigail, and she was the textbook prep. Blonde hair cut short in the latest fashion contrasted Tifa's long brown locks. Blue eyes stood out against Tifa's green ones. She was skinny as a stick and spoiled to the core. Everything about her foster sister made Tifa want to cringe, but today she had something else on her mind. Finishing her cereal, she set the bowl in the sink and skulked back to her room to pack. It would be a long spring break if she had her way.

After he had put the dishes from his meal away, Goten took a bath. Still, this only killed a short amount of time. He went back inside, although he thought better of it once he was inside. He could hear the moans even more this time, and it was making him tingle. Looking up at the clock, he saw it was only two in the afternoon. He pulled out the note pad that his mother kept next to the phone and wrote her a short note, the same note he wrote every year.
Mom
You know where I'll be.
Goten

He knew his note was a lie, but he didn't care. No one ever came after him, so it didn't really matter. He desperately needed a way to kill time, but could think of nothing. Walking back to his room, he fetched his pack and blasted out the window. Another minute in that house and he would have had to hunt Tifa down. He flew as slowly as he could to the site that they were supposed to meet the next morning and made a small campsite. After setting up the fire and putting his bag under his head, he put his head down and fell asleep dreaming of Tifa.

Tifa sat quietly on the edge of her bed, letting her feet dangle off of the edge. She knew it wouldn't be hard to get away tonight, but that it would be rather difficult to pack and keep her stuff hidden until then. She had already dug out a bag and filled it with essentials-clothes, toothbrush, etc. They wouldn't need food because they could hunt.

She sighed and laid out on her bed. It was only three-thirty. She was bored to death. She didn't plan on leaving until late, about nine, or else her foster family would get suspicious. Tifa knew that if she went through with this that her mother would probably call the cops and report it the next morning. Her life as she knew it was practically over. Somehow, though, she was just fine with that. It certainly eliminated the monotonous factor.

Flipping on her t.v., she tried to watch something, but it wasn't helping her sanity. Angrily she flipped it back off half an hour later and rolled over on her bed. She closed her eyes and thought of the way Goten had smelled before she took off. The scent of her to-be mate lulled her to sleep.
***
Goten woke with a start and looked around. Everything was rather dark, and he had to check his watch to see what time it was. It was six fifteen, and he knew that she wouldn't be here until early tomorrow. He stoked the fire and sat back down to wait.
***
Gohan woke from a deep sleep next to his own mate, Videl, and stretched. His own heat was over; it had never lasted as long as the others' did. He figured he probably took after his human mother more than he did his saiyan father, and so it was toned down.

Rising, Gohan slid into the shower, got out and dressed. He went outside and got into his car and picked up Pan, who was reluctant to return home from her best friend's. After taking his daughter home, he blasted off with his ki and headed towards his dad's house. He felt bad for acting so angrily towards Goten and was going to apologize. Unfortunately, once he got there, he discovered Goten's usual note and could hear his parents' moans.

Exiting the house, Goten tried to suppress a laugh. No wonder Goten left! He would have too, with sex monsters like that in the house while he was in heat. Shaking his head, he checked his watch. Six thirty. At least Goten would be awake wherever he found him. Pinpointing his brother's ki, he headed off in that direction, looking like a jet shooting across the sky.
***
Tifa rolled over and sat up straight with a start. His head swiveled to the side to look at the clock. She sighed heavily and her heart stopped pounding in her ears as she realized it was only six forty-five. Eager to relieve some stress, she went downstairs to eat some dinner when she finally realized that no one was home. It was almost too easy. Walking over to the front room table, she found a note saying that they had gone to her grandmother's (who only lived across town), and would be back soon.

She shook her head in disbelief and ran back upstairs to get her bag. Opening her window, she took one last look at her old life before she flew off towards the place where she would meet Goten tomorrow.
***
Goten sat quietly staring into the fire, allowing his thoughts to drift in and out. Suddenly he heard the large crack of a stick nearby. He turned quickly to see Tifa walk out of the shadows of the forest.

"You scared me for a minute there," Goten joked. Then his face warmed into a smile and he walked over to her, taking her chin into his hand and lifting her eyes to meet his. "And I've missed you." He brought his lips down on hers and she gladly submitted. The warmth of his tongue in her mouth caused her to lose all train of thought and her bag fell from her hands.

Gently Goten pulled her to him, and she wrapped her arms around him. He finally released her from the kiss and looked into her shining eyes. He led her over to the tree he had been sitting against and sat down with her on his lap.
***
Gohan felt better when he was about a block away from Goten's energy, and he was so relieved that he found him that he missed the other energy signal next to Goten's. Gracefully Gohan landed a few feet from the spot and walked towards Goten. He stopped abruptly when he found his brother leaning on an elm tree with a woman in his lap.

Emotions ran through Goten. Surprise was predominant- he hadn't expected this in any way, shape or form. Then anger- his brother should not have led this woman on. She had no idea what was happening to her, no doubt. He started over towards the couple who was now sharing an obvious saiyan kiss- wild and slightly bloody. Again he stopped when the woman slid a tail out of her pants and wound it up to where Goten's hand held her face. She pulled his hand down towards her hips and wrapped her tail around his wrist, holding it there.

She was a saiyan. It was obvious to him now, but that didn't mean that what Goten was doing was right. "Goten, you have to stop this, you don't know what you're doing," Gohan tried to appeal to his brother's rationality, but it wasn't working. It was as though they couldn't hear him. He stepped forward in an attempt to stop them, but Goten sat up and put himself between Gohan and Tifa. He kept his back towards Tifa, but stayed close because her tail was still wrapped around his wrist.

The pair was still crouched on the ground, blood smeared on their lips and feral gleams in their eyes. Goten growled, and his threat was clear- stay back. Gohan didn't know what to do. His brother's rationality seemed gone, and he might not be able to forcefully stop them both- especially while they were like this.

He backed up slightly, and Goten calmed marginally. "Goten, you have to listen to me. If you do this you will regret it. She's a saiyan, too. It means that you're both in heat. That means if you do this she'll get pregnant! You both have to come to your senses right now!"

Tifa edged closer to Goten until she was pressed against his back. She looked up, and it was almost like she was seeing Gohan for the first time. She nuzzled Goten's back and stood up. He looked behind him quizzically, but followed in her lead, keeping her safely behind him. She was his, and he was keeping it that way.

Gohan was relieved to see that they at least intended to hear him out. Hopefully he could talk them out of it, or at least kept them from royally screwing up their lives. "I'm here to help you, Goten. Everything's gonna be okay. Will you at least listen to me?"

Goten looked back at Tifa, and for the first time Gohan noticed she seemed to be giving Goten permission to stop. It had never occurred to him that they both knew the repercussions of what they were doing, but now he was not so sure that that was the case. Goten nodded, and they sat down indian-style, Tifa leaning slightly on him with her tail still wrapped around his arm. It unnerved Gohan to see his brother so quiet, but he sat down to try to make peace anyway.
