Dragon Ball/Z/GT Fan Fiction ❯ Forbidden Love ❯ Chapter 2
[ P - Pre-Teen ]
Chapter One
The day was calm and peaceful. It was early morning, about 9 and the wind rustled the trees sending a vibe of freshness through the streets. But inside the Supreme ruler's house, angry voices shattered the peace.
"This is outrageous!"Screamed the 16 year old, blue eyed daughter of the Supreme ruler. Her eyes burned brighty with anger."Father, how could you?"
"Bulma,"Her father said with surprised calmness."there was no choice. You, of all people, know that some other planets have turned against me. Their rebelling is throwing us into chaos! With all this going on, I will not have time to protect you or your mother and that is something I will not accept. All the guards will be with me, fighting the rebellion so it is only natural that I request a bodyguard, my dear you must understand." Bulma closed her eyes. Her father was, undoubtly, right and she hated it. A bodyguard? She was very capable of taking care of herself!
"But father-"
"Stop it."Her father snapped."There will be no more of your whining." Bulma growled and opened her mouth.
"Bulma dear, please your father is just trying to protect us."Her mother joined in with her soft voice. Bulma rolled her eyes.
"If I were a boy then we wouldn't be having this conversation."Bulma spoke gravely.
"No more."Her father ordered sternly."You are getting a bodyguard and nothing you say will change the fact!" Bulma pouted."Now go change into your more formal attire. King Vegeta will be here soon with his handpicked warrior."
"King Vegeta?"Bulma asked with the barest hint of joy. King Vegeta? The king of Saiyans? No way."Why's he coming?"
"What do you mean? I asked King Vegeta to pick his strongest warrior to protect you Bulma." The Supreme Ruler raised an eyebrow.
"Are you serious? A saiyan will be protecting me!"Bulma smiled widely. She quickly hid her smile and coughed nervosly when her parents gave her quizzical looks. Ever since she was little, she had wanted to meet a saiyan. She had learned all about them from the books in her family's private library. They were puzziling, the type Bulma loved to decipher. Maybe this wouldn't be so bad. Bulma could study the saiyan and maybe unravel the secret about them. Without another word, she spun around and raced to her room.
She'd need to re-read some of her books. A saiyan? Bulma smiled at the thought of the race. Muscular, strong, fierce eyes and with tails was the general picture she had painted for herself about the apperance of a saiyan. Her father and mother exchanged glances.
"One moment she's angry, the next she's happy? Teenage girls, I'll never get them."Her father muttered to himself, shaking his head.
--------
The darkness enveloped every inch of the large room. Metallic robots swirled their weaponary, their red eyes glowing bright in the dark. There were thousands of the deadly robots, all ready to slaughter and their target was a teenage boy standing before them with his normal, hard expression and tall, black hair that rose like fire.
"Human..."Bleeped a robot, his monotone robotic voice echoing through the dark."...you...shall die." At that time, all the robots drew closer. They knew that the teenage boy couldn't see them and since they could spot him through the darkness easily, expected to be at an advantage. The teenager didn't move. The robots clanked closer. "This...is your end."
"Don't make me laugh."The boy scoffed. The robots stopped. "You all are wasting my time."The crack of knuckles echoed. "I'm tired so if you don't mind, I'll be the one to end this." He smirked. "Watch." His eyes glowed red for only a second before the ground started to shake violently. Whirling and high pitched sounds, from the robots, thundered through the place. "Die." Deadly and thick beams pierced the night, targeting the robotic beings. Sparks and parts of the robots flew everywhere, the high pitched sounds continued, making the scene more dramatic with the thundering sounds that the beams concocted. The boy stood, his hands raised and open. The whole thing amused him. He was the cause for all this destruction, all the mayhem infront of him. How delightful. When all the robots were either disentergrated, disembodied or just shut down, darkness once again filled the space.
"Bravo! Bravo!"A loud voice boomed with laughter adjoined by the clapping of hands. "Bravo, young prince!" The lights in the stadium cut on so all the spectators could see the pieces of the robots all around the ground. The 'spectators' however, were only 3 people though. The teen turned to stare at them. His father was sitting back, arms folded with a placid expression on his face. He didn't look impressed and the boy growled. He was such a difficult man. Nothing pleased him. Kakarot, or Goku-as his mother once called him-was standing beside his older brother, Raditz who had stood up and openly acknowleged his actions.
"Wow Vegeta, that was amazing."Goku told him with that dumb smile on his face. His tail wagged eagerly back and forth.
"Yeah prince, that was excellent."Raditz smiled. He frowned at seeing that father and son were staring at eachother and not with the love that normal fathers and sons gave. "Uh...isn't that right King Vegeta?"
"That was reckless."King Vegeta stated, his gruff voice even more hostile.
"Reckless?"Vegeta raised an eyebrow."Reckless?"
Raditz rubbed his head, sensing a fight."Uh...reckless is good right? I mean, he finished them all and-"
"Quiet Raditz! You don't need to protect Vegeta. He knows what was wrong with his performance."The King spoke.
"Oh I do? Well, actually I don't so why not tell me oh mighty King." Vegeta folded his arms across his chest.
"That tone is not necessary ,Vegeta, and I will not tolerate it."His father stood up and yelled angrily. Vegeta growled and narrowed his coal eyes with annoyance. His father calmed."You shouldn't have used so much energy. Hand to hand is old fashioned but still acceptable."
"In your opinion."Vegeta mumbled with a roll of his eyes. He didn't feel like fighting with his father."If you were only going to comt to criticize then you shouldn't have come." His dad growled.
"I come any where I please!"The King sighed, breathed in and exhaled. He didn't want to take his son's bait. Today he vowed to keep his anger in tact. "Vegeta, do you know why I have called you here? Hmm?" Vegeta's silence was all the answer he needed. "Something has come up."
"What's that suppose to mean?"Vegeta asked with a raised eyebrow. Raditz and Goku turned to their King in curiosity. King Vegeta leaned back in his chair.
"The supreme Ruler has asked me for a favor."His dad started. "You will be protecting his daughter."
"What?"Vegeta exclaimed."Me? Are you insane? Why me? Someone else can do it! Protecting his daughter?!"
"Vegeta, this is a hard time for the Supreme Ruler. You know of the attacks and rebelling going on with the planets. His family is in great danger and I intend to help any way I can."His father said. Goku watched Vegeta shake with rage.
"I don't give a damn! Why don't YOU protect her then?"
"Me? The saiyans need me here."King Vegeta retorted.
"Your serious aren't you? This is unbelieveble! I bet you just jumped at the chance to suck up to that ruling bastard."Vegeta spat angrily.
"Enough!"His father boomed angrily."I have had enough of your outburst! You will do as I say and not another word about it!"
"Fine!"He watched his son angrily exit the room, swinging the door open with so much power it broke. Goku winced at the sound.
"Arrogant brat,"Goku heard The King mumble.
"Uh...how long will Prince Vegeta be gone?"Raditz suddenly asked.
"I don't know."King Vegeta sighed."Maybe a week, month, year."He turned to the older Saiyan."Raditz, I am doing the right thing, right? This should prove useful to me and him. Lets see how he deals with responsibility."
"What about the chosen bride for him. He was suppose to be wed in a year."Raditz stated.
"We'll arrange it. I'll inform the Supreme Ruler. Don't worry, everything will be set up."King Vegeta replied.
"Vegeta has to leave?"Goku spoke up. The two older Saiyans looked down at him.
"Yeah. He'll be staying with The Supreme Ruler and his family for a while."King Vegeta responded.
"He'll be back."Raditz assured when he saw the sad look on Goku's face."How about you go help him pack, little brother? And calm him down while you'll at it."
"Fine."Goku pouted, leaving the room through a different exit then the one his friend took.
