Black Flowers ; chapter 24, 'As the Past Mirrors the Future...'

Marron sat up, panicking. His side of the bed was empty! He was gone! Marron pressed the covers around her with shame even though she was alone. It had happened again! She had given herself so trustingly to him. Her mind played over the last night's events. Rhiamon had came over to watch a video. They had began to make out... and things had gone further. She reached for her robe, and wrapped it around herself. She gently stood up out of the bed, gazing longingly and sadly at the empty bed again. She walked out the room, heading fo the kitchen in her appartment. She froze as she heard rustling inside.

She opened the door, and froze in shock. On the breakfast bar was a fully cooked breakfast with fresh orange juice and coffee. She stared in wonder as she saw her new mate pouring coffee, dressed in just his loose gi pants, his torso bare and his hair tousled and wild. He turned as he sensed her presence. He smiled warmly. He walked over to her, handing her a coffee mug, and he gently brushed his lips over hers in greeting. He pulled away. "I hope you don't mind that state I'm in..." He said.

Marron drank in his appearance again. He wasn't wearing his glasses... and his face looked so much like Gohan's. She could so clearly see his striking dark blue eyes. They had looked so dark that first night they had met. She could hardly believe their colour now. They were the same navy blue velvet of a night sky. In fact, she didn't mind his appearance at all! He looked far more rugged...wild... it was extremely sexy. His hair, usually a neater version of Goku's was tousled and far more like a careless Saiyan hairstyle. And his bare chest... she had seen and felt it last night... but this morning it still enthralled her, that and the teasingly low slung casual gi pants...

A blush crept over her cheeks. He kissed her again, holding her by the waist. "I take it you don't mind at all..." He purred. Marron tried so hard to smile, even as Rhiamon wrapped his arms around her. He pulled back, watching her with concern. "What's the matter?"

She smiled weakly, even though a small tear rolled down her cheek then down her nose. "I thought you'd gone like the others..." She admitted with a sniffle.

Rhiamon paused, watching her. "I'm not gone." He reassured. "I'm here." he said softly, snuggling her. "I won't leave you..."

Marron couldn't help sobbing as they embraced.

Rhiamon was the first to arrive back at the Corp that afternoon. It was about 1:30pm as people began to appear from various places.

Eira wandered into the main Corp kitchen a while after Rhiamon. Some of the youths had disapeared after the tournament. Rhiamon had been to Marron's. Eira, Rayne and Arienne had gone to a club in the city together. Eira was the last to appear that morning, her sea green curls were cutely all over the place, all tousled. Her blue eyes looked tired, and she yawned, putting her hand up to her mouth has her mouth stretched open wide. She was dressed in a little nightie, but covered in a fuzzy pink robe and matching fluffy slippers. The gang grinned. She looked like she was cute little girl just got up from her nap. She dragged up a seat at the breakfast bar, scooting in between all the Saiyan males. They all looked down at her protectively and to smile at how cute she was.

"I heard you were successful in your little hunt then." Tristian teased Eira cheekily from across the table.

Eira yawned again, stifling it in her fuzzy pink sleeve. "It was fun." She agreed. "Ohh! I want jam!" Rhiamon passed over the jar of strawberry jam and she opened it and spread it on her toast with a happy grin.

"Soo... back to last night." Tristian said, raising an eyebrow. "Arienne tells me you met someone?"

Everyone casually listened in. Eira nodded dismissivley. "The guys were really sweet." She answered. "But the tall one snored."

There was a silence and a clinking down of coffee cups. Eira didn't seem to notice, ditzily drinking her own de-caff coffee. "So, no keepers then? Or were they all lacking...?" Tristian probed mischievously, a glint in his eye. "Come on, details?" He was unprepared as he was clipped over the head by Bulma at one side of him, and about 000.1 seconds later by Pan at his other side.

Tristian rubbed his head, now keeping his eye out for further attacks. The Saiyan males all raised their eyebrows at the sweet little girl drinking her coffee. She gazed at them all innocently from over her coffee mug, her eyes wide and brilliant blue fringed with lush eyelashes.

"Eira-chan... is there any truth in what Tristian's saying?" Gohan asked his niece carefully. Eira looked at him, blinking innocently, but beginning to look nervous. She carried on drinking her coffee, almost hiding behind the creamy cup.

Rhiamon gazed at Tristian for confirmation. Tristian quickly glanced from Eira to Rhiamon, and nodded seriously. Unluckily for Eira, Gohan and Goten noticed this silent communication out of the corner of their eyes.

Eira felt all the eyes on her, and finally put her coffee cup down, her full lips pouted childishly. "No one likes to have fun around here." She mumbled.

"Eira... They took advantage of you." Gohan said seriously. He shocked beyond all reason at what he was hearing. His mind flashed back to the tournament... and the fighter. Eira's scared face...

Eira pulled her robe together around herself. "I don't care..." she murmured softly, but all the Saiyan ears heard her.

Rhiamon sighed, pushing a pill discreetly across the table to her. He waited expectantly.

"...I don't wanna."

Rhiamon recomposed himself, ignoring her flat refusal. "It's not an option." He scolded her gently. "You know if you go sleeping around like that you have to take responsibility. Because I find it hard to believe you took any last night!" he raised his voice an octave higher.

Eira looked at him sheepishly, then at the door. Rhiamon tensed himself, suspicious. He was ready as Eira made a bolt for the door, the males sat next to her having to steady themselves as the ditzy girl shot past them in a blur of sea green and fluffy pink. She skidded in the hallway, making a break for freedom before Rhiamon caught her. They were out of sight of the others, but they could be heard still.

"Eira, take the damn pill!"

"I don't want to! I don't like taking it." She huffed.

"Eira..." his voice was a low warning, but the depth of caring in it was unreal.

There was another scuffle heard before all was still. She gave a long sigh. "It better be sugar coated." She huffed.

They could almost see Rhiamon's caring smile. "...always."

"Tank draining..."

The mechanical voice paused, and the controls began to bleep. Vegeta and Goku looked up as the dark haired occupant's long hair gently began to fall in the water. Arienne's feet gently reached the floor as the water slowly drained away from beneath her. Her hand reached to pull her breathing mask from her face. Her dark eyes opened and looked with curiosity at the two full blood saiyans. The tank door opened, and she stepped out, dizzily. Her hair was soaking wet and clung down her back She was wearing a white ribbed tank top with nothing underneath, shorts and white saiyan boots. The men blushed, especially Vegeta as it was his future daughter. He handed her a robe, which she wrapped around herself. "Why are you guys in here?" she asked.

"We were just seeing if you were ok." Goku answered simply.

"Baka, of course she's ok." Vegeta huffed.

Arienne ran a hand through her wet black hair, detangling it so it lay smoothly. She walked casually across the room. She glanced out the window. "It's nearly autumn." She said softly.

"You like the autumn?" Goku asked warmly.

A sad looks passed Arienne's face. "My son... he was born in the autumn. But not the earth cycle of course." She looked up as her sister walked into the room. "Oh, you made it home, honey?"

"Drystan was born in the Autumn." Eira said, hearing her Arienne talk. Eira smiled. "He'd be seven by now, wouldn't he?"

"Seven?" Goku's eyes widened.

Vegeta frowned, running the numbers over in his head. "How old were you when this child was concieved?" he asked his daughter solemnly.

"I was 14! Ok? Now leave it! He's gone now, what does it matter?" Arienne snapped.

"14 is very young to have a baby." Goku said sheepishly.

"That's what Cadell and Rhiamon said too." Eira frowned.

Vegeta snorted. "At least they had something to say about it." He said. "Did they take care of you until you gave birth?"

Arienne looked at her father with surprise. was this... concern? Could it be her father wasn't as cold as the files always said he was? "Cadell held my hand when I gave birth." She admitted. "They... they tried to fight for him before he was taken."

"Well they didn't fight hard enough." Vegeta snapped.

Everyone stared at Vegeta. He cared for his lost grandson so much? "They did as much as they could." Arienne told him. They were distrated by a loud noise, like a crash. They ran out the medical labs, and up to the main section of the Corp. By the time they got there, They saw the commotion. Tristian was at the foot of the stairs, struggling to stand. His balance was shaky, and the reason was clear.

As he struggled, a furry brown tail swished behind him. He swayed it this way and that, trying to get his alignment. He eventually stood up straight, only swaying a little bit. "Man!" He hissed. "I forgot how much this damn thing hurts."

"Trissy-chan... You have a tail!" Eira exclaimed. She bounced over and brushed her hand on it.

Tristian yelped and leapt to the side. "It's still tender!" He complained.

Bra watched it sway. "It's.. it's gorgeus." She said out loud. Tristian turned to her with a small smile.

"Glad you like it." he purred. Bra blushed deeply.

Gohan's eyes flitted from the Saiyan Princess to his nephew suspiciously. Only he and Yamcha knew about the 'incident'.

Suddenly, Tristian's tail froze completely still, an he lightly sniffed the air. A small tremor went through him. It seemed everyone around him held their breaths in suspense. Suddenly he relaxed and his tail neatly swayed around his waist curled up.

"What was that about?" Trunks demanded.

Tristian grinned. "I thought... I sensed something. I feel more 'intune' with my tail attached." He tried to explain. "We weren't allowed tails after our little 'accident' on that moonbase..."

Another shudder suddenly ran through him. He gave a little shake to dismiss it. Vegeta watched the other saiyans look confused around him. They were naturally on edge, reacting to Tristian's natural saiyan body language. But the fools were so human, they didn't realise it.

A small smirk grew on Tristian's face. "Let's try this baby out..." He mused. Everyone yelped and jumped as he suddenly darted to the left, nimbly leaping in a perfect side jump, landing in a crouch. His tail swished excitedly as his black eyes gleamed mischeviously. Cadell was unprepared as he was dived at. The two young men found themselves rolling over and over, as Trissy playfully attacked. Cadell was nearly as nimble, but not a match, thanks to his missing tail. It became a flurry of a battle. Eventually, it ended, and Cadell stumbled up, neither the victor. The others looked at him, startled, as he shakily laughed, a grin on his face. He looked carefree, playful...

Tristian was flat on his back, with a grin. Bra laughed, and was unsuspecting as Tristian suddenly grabbed her ankle, pulling her over. She saved herself and tumbled over softly, avoiding the playful male's attacks. The fight moved across the large living rooms of the Corp, everyone watching in amazment as the youths struggled and fought like he and Cadell had done. Bra suddenly pinned the male youth. She straddled him, holding his wrists. Her long hair was wild and tousled, and her cheeks flushed. Tristian grinned, only half heartedly struggling.

Bulma glanced around at all the mess from the fight. Cushions and furntiture was all over the place. She blinked.

Trunks gave a snort of disaproval. His anger boiled as he watched his sister in such a position, however accidental. "Is he even domesticated?" Trunks growled, as though Tristian wasn't even in the room. Tristian only laughed, and gave a throaty purr. The tip of his tail swished under him.

Bra leaned closer to Tristian, his breath softly on her cheeks. She smirked a Vegeta-like smirk. "Bad dog..." She purred in a low voice.

Tristian only grinned wider. Bra slowly climbed off him, and when she met the eyes of the others, they looked shocked. She would normally have been mortified... but she instead felt a smirk cross her lips. It was a new confidence... almost like a new power she had as a female.

Pan watched the scene with interest, especially the new lease of life that seemed to be in Cadell. His blue eyes were wide, brighter and the remains of the flush in his cheeks were still evident. A warm feeling seemed to stir in her soul at her children happy.

But Arienne's eyes looked hollow. Although... there was a spark there. She was watching her brothers with curious eyes. Tristian seemed to inspire something in the others. Some playful, hidden part of themselves. Maybe even hope.

Mrs.Briefs grinned. "Isn't he the cutest?" She exclaimed.

Bulma raised an eyebrow. "I bet if I threw a ball of yarn in there, he'd chase it..."

Pan just smiled.

*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-

The Corp was empty as dusk fell that evening. Gohan and Videl had ventured home, as had the others. Pan was still here. She felt closer to her kids in some way here. Especially Arienne. Her mind was still playing on her sad eyes. Pan could see so much of herself in her... yet, so much of Vegeta. It was confusing. Arienne was Vegeta's daughter... It was unreal. Pan suddenly felt the hairs prickle on her neck. She knew he was there even before she turned around.

"Vegtea... Where did you appear from?" her voice was shaking, even though she tried to steady it.

He didn't answer her. Pan turned slowly. "It's getting late." She said absently.

Vegeta seemed to look thoughtful for a moment, but not about Pan's words. "Our brat is missing her son." He sudenly said.

Pan's eyes widened. "Arienne?" She asked.

Vegeta nodded. "Though she's strong." he added. "Her blood is a good mixture."

Pan began to feel wary. "They mixed all the bloods. And all the kids are strong." She reminded him.

"But hers is good. She is detemined, stubborn, like you. And she carries the royal bloodline forward, with less human genes pollution. She's strong." Vegeta spoke strongly, with some pride. He stepped closer to Pan. She closed her eyes warily as she felt his breath on her lips. Pan knew he would kiss her before he did. Her mind was confused. Vegeta ran his hand down her side suggestively. The kiss deepend, and Pan tentively responded, her thoughts clouded. Was this... right?

Vegeta broke the kiss, his breathing ragged. "We belong together..." he said, as he ran his finger lightly over her abdomen. Then both his hands were in her hair, pulling her face towards his. As he kissed her again, more hungrily this time, Pan's mind raced. Was he right? Maybe this was meant to be? Her fate was something to be used. She had no choices. If Vegeta wanted her, could she deny him? It seemed like she was in a daze. Vegeta's body was warm against hers, and his kisses were so inviting...

Pan felt her soul sink inside her. The words Rhiamon had told them about the future wouldn't leave her. it seemed hopeless, futile. Vegeta was kissing her neck now, his fingers sliding her shirt upwards slowly. Pan didn't notice the small tear than ran from her eye down her cheek. She imagined the cold metal collar, the white walls... Everything inside her seemed to scream. But, as Vegeta drew her up and carried her to his room, she submitted. She was lost.

Through his lovemaking, she felt nothing but confusion. And as he sunk beside her tiredly, his arms lazily wrapped around her, his hand gently stroking her abdomen until his breathing deepened and he fell deeply asleep.
