Black Flowers ; chapter 27, 'Tomorrow'
Goku looked around with panic, trying to focus his ki on his attacker. She came at him from above, landing her joint fists on the back of his neck. He flew toward the ground, winded momentarily. He gained control again, landing on his feet. He crouched, watching his daughter float to the ground before him. Her arms were crossed, an arrogant smile on her face.
Goku assessed her features, and watched, as the arrogance became laughter. She crouched in fighting stance, her ki flaring around her in excitement. "You like to fight, ne?" He asked.
Vegeta leant against the wall, watching the pair. As well as being Kakkorrot's daughter, it was also his granddaughter. He was curious how Rayne compared to Arienne, his own daughter. Neither Goku nor Rayne had gone Super Saiyan yet. They were playing, testing each other out.
Goku tried to guess her next move. She was an unpredictable fighter, she was intelligent, and fought with strategy. Definitely from Bulma's side. He watched her straighten, and he almost broke stance to watch in awe as the grass began to sway at her feet. Even Vegeta paid close attention. Rayne closed her green eyes as her ki became golden around her. Her fine strands of turquoise hair blew gently in the breeze, before stiffening into golden spikes. Her loose gi top floated around her taunt form gracefully, and her lips pursed and her eyes brows furrowed as she completed the transformation. She transformed with elegance and with a ballerina's grace. Her dark turquoise eyes shot open, completely focussed.
Complete control. That's what she radiated. It was incredibly feminine and subtle, yet the self-confidence and power was incredible. Goku straightened, powering up himself. Rayne smiled, before suddenly disappearing, appearing at his side in an attack. She then leapt back to her former position, crouched in readiness. "Are you ready to fight?" She asked, as though they had only just begun.
Goku grinned. "Sure!" he answered, getting into fighting stance himself.
"I don't play games…" her voice rang out clear, her eyes cold and focused. For a moment, Goku was almost startled by her presence. She seemed to be in another world, her eyes looked so distant. She began to collect ki energy in her palms, it was almost hypnotic, sensual.
Suddenly she attacked again, hurling the ki ball at Goku. He was taken by surprise, but blocked it, leaping out of the way. She came on with a cold fierceness. Goku blocked her hits, landing a couple himself. She suddenly screamed, rising to level 2, increasing her attacks. Goku barely had the chance to match her power level, and fought off his daughter's attacks.
Goku leapt away, using his speed to get room to breathe. He paused, before having to block another surprise move from Rayne. She was fast!
Vegeta began to laugh at the sidelines. "She means business, Kakkorrot!" He snorted. But his laughter ebbed away slowly as he noticed something. Goku... was struggling! The mighty Kakkorrot… Rayne was not giving him space to allow him to power up without having his concentration broken. He watched as Goku was pounded by her furious fists and kicks. Goku frowned, trying to gain the upper hand. This wasn't a spar anymore…
He cried out as he was hit by a burning blast, and he hit the ground. He lifted his head up, exploding into SSJ3 without thinking. This was more of a challenge than he had thought. Rayne seemed to appear at his side, aiming a kick at his head, but he caught her leg, swinging her around and firing a ki blast at her recovering form as she was thrown in the air. She was hit, and she emerged from the smoke, her turquoise eyes furious.
Tristian came running out of the Corp, and skidded to a halt near Vegeta. He paused, eyeing the fight with amazement. "Woah… Granddad's an SSJ3!"
Vegeta scowled at the youth. "Of course he is, baka!" He hissed.
Tristian threw him a dark glare. "What's eating you?" He huffed. He seemed to grin seconds later. "Listen up! Relax." He went to pat Vegeta on the back jokingly, but the prince swiped his hand away.
"Don't touch me, baka!" he snapped.
"I seem to remember your son liking it." Tristian smirked. "Sure you don't want a go…?"
Vegeta growled viciously in response. Tristian frowned. "Gee... yeah, you are uptight." He flicked his hand absently. "Your loss…"
Vegeta flickered his gaze back to the fight. He nearly choked when he saw SSJ2 Rayne holding up an SSJ3 Goku up by the throat.
Goku struggled. How the hell was his quiet daughter this damn strong? He looked into her eyes, but they seemed empty. "Rayne…" he choked out. She still seemed in another world.
"Come on Rayne… You can do better than this…"
Raven laughed, wiping the blood carelessly from his jaw. Rayne flew at him recklessly, and he easily slammed her down to the ground. She cried out in pain. He loomed over her, grabbing her arm in his strong hand. She looked up at him. "Raven… but I love you." She whimpered.
He sharply back-handed her. "Stop acting like that! You think I care about you on the battle field?" He began to put pressure on her arm. She screamed out in curdled pain. "Fight back, weakling." He sneered. "You're not worthy of my affection."
She struggled against his grip, bursting with ki. He pressed harder, and she began to black out with pain. She screamed, fighting back with all her might. She suddenly gained the advantage, grabbing his neck with her small hands. She straddled him, squeezing tighter. Her hair flowed around her, long golden spikes of SSJ3. Raven choked, struggling to breathe yet his eyes gleamed. He reached a trembling hand to stroke her face. "Good girl…" he purred. "Good girl..." He pulled her face down to meet his and her hands loosened as their lips met.
Goku began to see black as Rayne held tighter. She gathered ki in her fist, aiming it for his chest. She seemed to be in a trance as she prepared the finishing move. Even Vegeta began to tense on the sidelines. Goku summoned the last of his ki in his fist in desperation, sending it reluctantly at Rayne. He hit her squarely on the side of her head, and she went flying backwards. She lay on the grass, not moving. Her face was hidden by her hair, and Goku could see the trail of blood seeping gently from her. "Oh dende…" He murmured. He panicked... Had he hit her that hard? Cadell suddenly appeared by his side.
"What happened?" Cadell demanded. The two males watched as Rayne suddenly shakily raised her torso slightly from the ground, supporting herself with her hands. They watched as she exploded with more energy.
"Rayne! I don't want to fight you." Goku protested. She seemed to not hear, and continued powering up. She threw her gaze up from under her SSJ3 hair. Blood was trailing down her face. She began to struggle to her feet, collecting ki in her hands. She screamed, hurling the attacks at Goku and Cadell. Both of them leapt out of the way. Cadell responded quickly, appearing behind Rayne, grabbing her around her waist. Rayne screamed and struggled.
"Rayne! That's enough!" he shouted at her. He powered up to SSJ2 to hold her steady. She screamed, flicking blood from her spiked gold hair. Rhiamon and Gohan ran out at the tremors the fight was causing.
They saw the situation, pausing in shock. Gohan was the first to run to aid Cadell. Rayne screamed over and over at the two males holding her down. "Rayne! Snap out of it you crazy bitch!" Tristian yelled.
"She's badly wounded..." Gohan said as he struggled to hold the Saiyan female. Gohan and Cadell pushed Rayne down to the ground. They pushed her on her front, and she thrashed, screaming to be free. Cadell kept her head down, and the side of her face pressed into the earth. Gohan felt along her head as Cadell held her still. His fingers were reddened with blood. He began to loosen his hold as he felt her relax. All the males around her were shocked when they heard her whimper.
A tear trailed down her blood and soil stained face. "Get off me… please." She pleaded.
"Guys... let her go." Goku said. His face was pained with worry. "Is she badly hurt?"
"She'll live." Cadell reported. He slowly loosened his hold on Rayne. Gohan mirrored him. She didn't get up immediately. "Rayne? You'll need to go to the medical bay." Cadell told her.
Rayne didn't answer. She slowly pulled herself up to her knees, swaying a little with dizziness. Gohan went to steady her, but she swatted him away. She struggled to her feet, then with no warning, powered up, and exploded into the sky. Tristian ran to the little group. "What the fuck is she doing? She's in no condition to fly anywhere!"
He moved to take off, but paused when he felt his granddad's hand on his shoulder. "I'll go." He said. "Stay here." He too blasted off into the darkening sky.

Rayne hissed with pain. She swayed again, feeling faint. She put her hand to her head, feeling the blood seep down her hand and arm. She shakily lifted her hand away, watching the deep red liquid drip from her hand. How... how had this happened? Goku... her father…
He had only done it in self-defense. Oh Dende... she had been going to kill him. She nestled her face in her knees, bringing them up to her chest.
"Rayne?" She heard the soft rustle of the grass. She didn't look up. Goku landed on the stretch of vast field. He looked around. Why had she chosen such a vacant open place?
"Leave me alone..." Rayne murmured. Goku turned his attention back to his daughter with sadness. Seeing her curled up like that made him feel incredibly maternal towards her. It was easy to forget that the youths were little more than kids with their hard, worldly attitudes. Rayne was only 19. If she had been in this timeline, maybe she would have just started college, hanging with her friends, going to malls. Not this…
He crouched by her, holding his hand out to her in friendship. Rayne looked warily at it, then slowly trailed her gaze to meet his eyes.
"It's alright…" Goku said soothingly. He gazed with a frown at the blood on her forehead. Dende… he swore he hadn't meant to hit her that hard… "Please come back with me." He pleaded gently with her. "It's ok… I'm not mad. Please... you 're hurt."
Rayne tried to ignore the gentle throbbing of her wound.
@*@*@*@*@*@*
And I want to believe you
When you tell me that it'll be ok
And I try to believe you
But I don't.
@*@*@*@*@*@*
Goku reached forward to run his hand softly along her face. "Rayne… I…I love you. Please, you're hurt. I'm so sorry I hit you like that. I panicked. I swear, I would never hurt you."
Rayne's eyes widened. She tore her glance away, clenching her eyes shut.
@*@*@*@*@*@*
I try to believe you...
Not today, not today…
I don't know how I'll feel, tomorrow
Tomorrow…
I don't know what to say...
Tomorrow…
Tomorrow is a different day.

"Just leave me alone."
Her voice was trembling. Goku felt the pang of pain inside of him. Didn't she believe him? Why couldn't the youths accept love? He knelt beside her, drawing her into his arms. She reluctantly nestled her face in his shoulder, slowly clutching her hands on his gi. He wrapped his strong arms around her, resting his face on her turquoise hair. He felt her tremble softly as she cried into his shirt.
@*@*@*@*@*@*
Give me a little time,
Leave me alone a little while

Pan wandered the Corp aimlessly. She wondered what the others would be thinking of her now if they knew. Would they hate her if they found out what she had done? Especially with Goten.
It was a mistake, right…? But in some way… it had felt like Goten had needed her. She had felt something greater than Goten was trying to make her believe now.
Damn it… Were his touches always so passionate, so exposing? She had been able to see right through him... right into his soul. How could such a simple person have so much turmoil and confusion stirring inside his soul?
"Pan…"
Pan looked up to see Goten approaching her in the corridor. He was still wearing his shirt from yesterday and form fitting jeans. Pan ignored the feelings stirring in her. His face looked troubled. He came closer, resting his hand against the wall, leaning into her at arm's length, but warily minding his distance from her. Pan looked into his gaze searchingly. Why can I not see you anymore? When did you put so many barriers up around you…?
"We need to talk."
"We do?"
"Damn it Pan... Listen... it was…"
"A mistake?" There was a silence.
Goten shifted awkwardly. He was about to speak again, but suddenly he was interrupted.
"Hey guys! Where have you two been all day?" Trunks said, starting to walk towards them.
Pan looked up from beneath Goten's arm. "Goten took me to get some new stuff for school." She answered. Goten looked at her with wide eyes. He glanced back to Trunks getting closer.
"Hey dude, I saw the last kebab in the fridge, I can have it, right?" he said casually.
Trunks paused. He hesitated, before making his way in the other direction. "Another day Goten!" Trunks laughed. Goten gave a small laugh as cover. When Trunks had gone, he glared back at Pan.
"You haven't showered yet." He snapped.
Pan glared back at him. "What are you trying to say? That I stink?"
"Yeah… of me. Pan, you baka!" Goten growled. "What if someone smells me on you?" He paused, composing himself.
"We don't want to give anything away, do we?" Pan said in a void voice.
"Who do you want to tell first that we had sex, Pan?" Goten said darkly. "Gohan? Chi-Chi maybe. Or what about my Dad? What's Goku gonna think of us both...?"
Pan looked away. Her granddad… What was he going to think of her now…?
"Pan... I'm your uncle. Damn it, look at me!" Pan shot her gaze back to him. "This should never have happened. What I'm about to ask…" He turned his head away this time. "…Is that this never happened."
Pan looked confused. "I don't understand…"
"I mean… I want us both to agree to forget this ever happened between us. I think it's the best course of action." Goten said firmly.
"Forget…? That's the big plan?" Pan muttered.
"There's no other way. I want this buried. I care about you Pan. Just never like this. It can never be like this." Goten told her. "Do you promise never to bring this up again?"
Pan's mind felt numb. Her throat was dry as she dizzily nodded. "I promise." She said softly. Her mind began to scream as he ruffled her hair, like he always used to. But that was before. How can he now?
Pan leant back against the wall with a deep sigh as he walked away from her. She stayed there for a while, gazing up at the huge skylight above her, watching as the sky darkened around her.

Tristian came through the front door, a solemn expression on his face. It was morning. The early dawn sunlight filtered through the trees outside, making dancing patterns of light and dark on the smooth marbled floor of the Corp.
The graceful older woman put her coffee down, the sunlight glinting off her glasses. "Hi Tristian…" She said with a loving smile. "Have you been out all night? I didn't see you come in."
Tristian nodded briefly. He seemed distracted, void. He watched the morning world through the large glass panels overlooking the grounds of the Corp. He dug deep in his cargo pocket, and pulled out a roll of bills. He handed the money to a shocked Bulma.
She stared at the money, not taking it. "What is this for?" She asked with horror.
"Take it." Tristian pleaded solemnly with her. "It's for our board."
Bulma still made no move to take it. "You don't have to pay anything!" She cried. "Where did you get it? I thought you guys didn't have any earth money?" She asked suspiciously.
Tristian sighed, putting it on the table beside her and striding out of the room.
Bulma stood from her chair, hearing it screech behind her. "Tristian!"

"Tristian!"
~AN: Hey, I know I don't often say much, just letting ppl know I'm no busy ice queen, lol. Some people are so afraid I'm this scary busy person. @.@. Rest assured I'm human. I guess I put all of myself into the writing itself, so I don't feel the need to talk much. Hehehe… well, cya! Klara x ~
