Dragon Ball/Z/GT Fan Fiction ❯ Frozen ❯ Chapter 1

[ P - Pre-Teen ]

Rain pattered against the balcony doors. Bulma lay on Vegeta's chest as she stared out through the sliding glass doors. Vegeta was breathing steadily, Bulma let out a sigh. She knew that he would be leaving soon. And whether she'd like to admit it or not, it was killing her slowly and steadily. He'd left many times before, leaving her alone at night as he flew off to Kami knows where and she'd lie there, wondering if it was only lust. She let out a soft sigh against his chest. How could she make him see?
~~~
You only see what you eyes want to see,
how can life be what you want it to be?
You're frozen, when your heart's not open
~~~
Vegeta sighed softly as he slowly circled lazy circles on her bare back with his calloused fingers, sending shivers up her spine. If she only understood what this meant. He had to beat Kakarott no matter what, even if it mean hurting Bulma. He hated having to hurt her, that was the last thing he wanted to do, but if that was what had to been done, then so be it. Kakarott was a low-class Saiyan, who knew nothing of his heritage or past. How dare he become Super Saiyan before his prince??
Bulma felt Vegeta tense. He was obviously thinking about Goku. He was always tense, distant and cold when thinking of his rival. She hated him for being this way, yet she put up with it and many of his other annoying quirks, which were more like scars than quirks. Anger built up over years was now being pushed down on poor Goku who had no idea why this man hated him so, except that he'd become Super Saiyan first. Bulma sighed, she'd probably never understand such a complex mind as Vegeta's...
~~~
You're so consumed with how much you get,
you waste your time with hate and regret.
You're broken, when your hearts not open.
~~~
Bulma knew that if he could look past all his hate and pain, he'd see that he had something. Something great infront of him. A person who had so much feeling and emotion bundled up for him that all he had to do was welcome it and they'd let it go. Flowing over him, love, compassion, desire and need would wash over him, if he'd only let her in. See that this wonderful creature was there with him along, this creature named Bulma

If I could melt your heart,
we'd never be apart.
Give yourself to me,
you...hold...the key.
~~~
Vegeta could feel her breathing increase. She was obviously thinking of something. Something was troubling her complex mind and he didn't dwell thinking about it, yet spoke. "I'm going to fight the Androids tomorrow." Bulma sighed. She knew, deep within her that he'd go. She'd known ever since the word "dangerous" and "Androids" hit his Saiyan ears that he was going to leave her and there was nothing, nothing a little human female such as herself could do to stop him. "Please don't die," she whispered, almost as if she didn't want him to hear.
Vegeta glared down at her. "Don't die?" he growled. Bulma nodded, holding back tears as the images of him dying flooded her thoughts. Vegeta snorted, "So you have no faith in the Prince of Saiyans? That I cannot defend this worthless mudball you call a planet?" Bulma shook her head. "No, I have full faith in you! It's just that if I loose you then I," she swallowed back tears. She couldn't continue in fear tears would follow. "Vegeta, aren't there enough men fighting already? Can't you stay here with me and stay alive?" Vegeta felt her have another shiver. "Those damn things! Why do they have to come here and why do you have to be so proud? Your damn pride Vegeta! Its going to kill you someday!" she cried, small tears sneaking from the slits of her eyes. Vegeta sighed, didn't she know he was doing this for her? Not for his people, but to protect her?
~~~
Now there's no point in placing the blame,
and you should know I suffer the same.
If I loose you, my heart will be broken.
~~~
Vegeta growled, "Woman, don't interfere with things that don't concern you, much less things you don't understand!" He abruptly got up and went to dress. Bulma let out a little sob. Vegeta dressed at lightning speed and was now putting on his boots and special Saiyan armor. Bulma wrapped the sheets around her bare body. She ran to him and reluctantly helped him fasten his armor. He stared at her in amazement. One minute she was begging him to stay, now she was helping him leave? He ignored these thoughts and helped her fasten the tiny clasps. "Do you remember who made this armor for you?" she asked softly, tears still falling down her cheeks unnoticed. Vegeta grunted in reply, wiping away her tears. Bulma smiled a little before it faded quickly. "I knew someday we'd be together Vegeta, I made this to protect you so you'd see that day...don't make my hours of putting this damn thing together be in vain, okay?" she whispered, looking up at him as she slowly fastened the last clasp. She stared into his emotionless eyes. Why didn't he say it? Why wouldn't he say, I love you, Bulma? Did he even love her?
~~~
Love is a bird, she needs to fly.
Let all the hurt inside of you die.
You're frozen, when your hearts not open.
If I could melt your heart, we'd never be apart.
Give yourself to me,
you...hold...the key.
~~~
Vegeta stared in sapphire pools of emotion. Her eyes seemed to pleading with him. What was he supposed to do? Deep down inside, beneath his pride and arrogance, past the three mile thick wall of pain and hate that led to his heart he loved her, and he knew that he couldn't promise her he'd return because whether he say it or not, he honestly didn't know what the outcome of this battle would be. And if it meant saving Bulma, yet resulting in his death, the so be it.
Bulma saw a battle within his eyes. He seemed to arguing with himself. She sighed softly, knowing he'd never say those three, wonderful words her heart was screaming out to hear from his stubborn lips.
~~~
You only see what your eyes want to see,
how can life be what you want it to be?
You're frozen when your hearts not open.
If I can melt your heart, we'd never be apart.
Give yourself to me,
you...hold...the key.

Vegeta knew he needed to say something but he couldn't let his pride down. If he said that he loved her then he'd have another weakness besides her, emotion and that was already bombarding his thoughts. He growled, "Goodbye, woman." Bulma watched him cross the room and leave threw the balcony window. She fell to the ground, sobbing.
Bulma wiped her tears and walked to her bed. She lightly switched on the radio, the song was nearly over but it would put her to sleep. She needed to sleep, Vegeta was gone and she needed to be strong while he was gone. He would want her to. She turned the volume to medium and switched off her bathroom light. She crossed the room, her heart was shattering into a thousand pieces as hope was trying to pull it together, trying to make her remain calm. ::He'll come home:: She could only hope and pray that he would. She clapped her hands and the lights went off. Suddenly, the moonlight cast a sillohette of a man. Wild points were at the top of the man's head. Only one person in the universe had that kind of hair. Bulma turned to see Vegeta come into her room. He walked to her, drenched in the new rain. "Damn you woman," he whispered, not touching her. Bulma just stared at him. He'd only been gone five minutes and yet it had seemed and eternity. He held her arms tightly and growled, "Promise...promise me that you'll be loyal to me, and spend forever with me." Bulma took a deep intake of air. "Vegeta," she whispered, lightly caressing his face. "I promise to be loyal and with you for eternity, forever until the stars burn out I am yours..." she then added softly, "My prince." Vegeta smiled and grunted. He leaned in and kissed her lips intimately...seductively as the ending of the song played. Bulma felt as if the music was blarring in her ears as the feeling Vegeta was giving her washed threw her veins...

If I could melt your heart,

Bulma smiled to his lips as a smirk crossed his. "I love you, Vegeta," she whispered. Relief washed threw her. If, Kami forbidding, he die, she'd have told him that she loved him. Even if he didn't return it. Vegeta headed towards her balcony door, and before he left, he turned to her, his eyes showing so much love for her. Bulma heard his voice deep within her thoughts, "And Bulma, promise me that you'll love me....forever." Bulma nodded to him and with that he was gone, flying off to probably train until dawn then seek out the two lethal Androids. Bulma smiled back tears and walked to her bed. She closed her eyes softly, he loved her too and would forever as so would she.
