Chapter 2- Am I...?

Many decades ago, before Chikyuu had met it's demise; the people come to their senses that they're not alone in the universe. A warrior race calling themselves `Kitasons' proves this point by visiting the naïve planet.

They come on a bright and clear day. Nearly twenty, quarter-mile long ships land in a vast vacant field. But it seems they are expected. An odd group of men wait patiently on the fields. Five look human, but the Kitasons know very well they aren't. They recognize the wild hair, the rigid postures. Saiyans, well only two of them look full-bred. The other three look like a mix between of Ningen and Saiyan, with one standing out from his long lavender hair and bright, alert blue orbs shining with determination. The other four men are most definitely born and raised Ningens. A tiny man with black hair and no nose. A handsome one with scars adorning his face. A taller bald one with a third eye and beside him a clown-like floating Chibi. The last one of the group has green skin and twitchy black eyes- Namekian.

The Z warriors were warned ahead by their guardian of the planet- Dende. He explains these beings are neither hostile nor violent, but each warrior has one thing going in their heads: /They sure don't look non-threatening to me./

Maybe it's because these beings resemble half-feline/half-human hybrids. Their faces bare the slight resemblance of a feline mixed with human, yet they have human bodies with a lengthy tail on their backsides and pointy ears on the crowns of their heads. The males are fit like oxen. The females are fit too, but pride in their curvaceous structure than their muscular form. Only the babies and young children show some pudginess and the old are so frail they hold themselves up on walking sticks. Some are dressed scantly clad with furs in odd colors like fuchsia, wine red, turquoise, or glittering silver. Others wear rawhide that look like it was on a multi-colored reptilian bird. Feathers of bright colors adorn all the females' long hair. The males have markings of ink etched into their faces. The females have similar markings on their legs and arms. There are none on the children. The adults also sport deadly and very lethal weapons. Hulking swords sharp enough to chop a head off with one swoop, daggers even sharper to stab right through flesh, muscle, and bone. Staffs with carvings in an unknown language with trinkets on the ends or knives tapered to one end. Slings (used for flinging rocks) are tied on the hips of some, while others sport a bow with arrows.

A male steps away from the large group. The warriors assume he's their leader as he's the mostly dressed, adorning in fine silver and has a velvety violet cape draping over his shoulders and swishing behind him every step he takes. He stops only a foot away from the one warrior dressed in an orange gi suit. The alien seems to stand at a height of eight feet, towering over the Chikyuu-raised Saiyan.

"Are you the one who defeated Freiza and the menacing Majiin Buu?" he speaks in heavy Japanese, molding his tongue clumsily on consonants as if he has just learned it.
"Yes I am. My name is Son Goku," the mighty warrior speaks up.
The catman smiles lightly, showing a bit of fang from his long canines. He then lifts a bulky hand and extends it to the man. Goku looks down at the hand, noticing that the two-inch claws makes this being's hand look even bigger. He slowly takes it, and looks back up at the alien.
"We've been looking for you, Son Goku."

There is a moment of hearty handshaking. The aliens behind their leader whisper and murmur in a dulling buzz. As the being let Goku's hand go, the murmuring ceases. The leader then speaks again.
"I am Lord Fraucktor Lishtary, ruler of my people, the Kitasons." he proudly displays his name.

After that shining moment, the rest is history. The Chikyuu-raised people have never seen anything like it. A half-man/half-beast, showing no signs of hostility. They bring knowledge of the universe with them, teaching the ways of saving the environment and showing peace, in exchange that they are allowed to populate Chikyuu. Finally, the king makes treaty with the guardian of this planet, Dende. The treaty is for the two races to become allies with Namek, and Namek helps in return.

There is peace for many centuires. Kitasons, Ningens, and Namekians populate all three planets. A new breed is even introduced to the world: Hybrids-

Luna sits up with a fearful gasp. Lifting a hand to her chest, she breathes deeply to calm her heart down. As she slowly regains back to reality, she feels something soft under her. It feels… like a bed. She looks down to find covers pooling on her lap. Then she notices she's in a cotton shirt for sleeping in. The size of the shirt swallows her tiny body. She jumps out of bed, but only succeeds in tangling her feet with the covers and taking a dive on the floor headfirst. She yelps out and grabs the back of her head, rubbing the sore. Her eyes open and she recognizes its night. Suddenly her eyes glance out to a balcony straight ahead of her. She can see the full moon shining on her.

"The… moon," she whispers out. She has never seen the moon in person. It was destroyed long ago by some unknown circumstance. She knows it existed once by pictures from textbooks she read when she was a child. She never knew what's so special about a gazillion-year-old rock that only comes in lapses of 28 days in a month, only to start over again once each lapse is over. Now as she sees it in its true beauty, she knows. The modesty of it, never showy with flashy colors or glitter, but its true form, with dark craters from asteroids bombarding it long ago.

Slowly she rolls over to lay on her stomach and gazes upward at it again. This hunk of rock is what brought out the true potential of her Tousan and Papa. She can recall the stories of their transformations, mating rituals- all because of the influence from the moon.

A pang of sadness suddenly hits her. They're dead now, all of them… she's alone. She lowers her head into her arms to sob, when she feels the cotton soft material on her. She lifts her head, seeing she's still in the room and on the floor. Then with a hand, she wipes her eyes, and proceeds to untangle herself from the bed.

Suddenly another pang hits her, not from emotions, but from power. Something with incredible energy is near. Her ears perk up, trying to decipher this ki signature. It's two different ones, yet both so familiar, and not as strong as hers. She extends her senses to see if anyone else is around. This one is so low she can barely feel it. Climbing to her feet she walks towards the outside. Suddenly she smacks right into something blocking her way and she bounces back. She rubs her nose. Then lifting her hands she places them outward, and touches the cold surface of glass. Running her hands across the surface, she finds the handle attached to the sliding door. She pushes on the handle, only to break it off in a snap. She looks at the metal piece in her hand with a scowl.

"Weak," she comments. Then tossing the offending piece over she shoulder she then balls a fist and smashes it through the glass. It shatters under impact and pieces embed into her skin. She doesn't feel pain and stares at the shards in curiosity. She takes a shard with her other hand, and pulls it out of her skin. Blood seeps out the second she does; showing the glass got in deep. She flicks her tongue out and laps at the dripping blood. She proceeds to take out the rest of the shards. When she's done, she takes a moment to lick each wound. She looks down at her hand, and as if on cue, the wounds vanish away like nothing ever happened. She then lowers her hand and looks at the gaping hole she made. It's big enough for her to step through.

Now she's outside on the balcony. She gazes around the landscape. Lots of rolling hills for miles, a river cuts through them, moving steadily. Grass and trees cover the rest of the hills, extending to mountains in the far of distance. The air tastes of rain heading this way in under an hour. There's a muffled explosion that startles her. The sound is behind her.

She then leaps over the edge of the stone-like rail and uses a bit of her energy to levitate herself nearly ten feet from the ground. She makes around the dome-like metal structure to find a smaller dome extending from it. The ki signatures are within it, spiking for a few moments, then falling to undetection. She lowers herself to the ground gently and walks up to the dome. She lays a hand on the cool surface and she is met with a vibration. She pulls her hand away quickly as if it's scolding hot. Looking at it with heavy confusion, she then touches the vibrating surface again. Using her senses, she can make out two beings fighting inside it, but she can tell they both are holding back. It's like they know not to kill each other, yet they can make it so close to presume they are after each other's throats. They must be training then. But for what?

She opens her eyes and steps away, looking for some kind of sign she can enter in this structure. She makes her way around to find a door. On it looks to be a spoke without a wheel attached to it. To the side of the door are a few buttons and a flat screen to see what's inside there. Lifting her hand she runs fingers lightly over the buttons. One is green, the other red. To her knowledge, green means good. But she also remembers about not barging in on others. Curiosity peaking, her conscience soon looses the battle. She presses the green button and there is a high-pitch screeching that plagues her ears. She screams out and covers her ears. Her tail bristles while wrapping around her waist protectively as her ears press flat against her head. The sound is almost deafening, threatening to make her head explode. Suddenly the bars on the door move in a circle, nearly knocking her down if she didn't pull back. The sound is killing her, making her wish she wasn't part feline.

The bars then stops suddenly as well as the terrible screech. The door makes a hissing sound and slowly glides toward her. She steps back while shaking her head to stop the annoying ring now in her head. Bright light streams out from the door, pouring on her like a warm blanket. She shields her very sensitive eyes. Two silhouetted forms appear under the light, blocking her view of the light. One form is smaller than the other but has hair sticking up to defy gravity, adding to his height. Two familiar scents wash over her, both making her choke-gasp in shock. One smelt of after a rainstorm, calming and peaceful; the other like smoke and ashes, tingling the back of her throat. As they step closer to her, she can make out their features. Both have bodies molded with steel muscle under skin, perfected by years of sparring. Sweat covers their bodies, along with scrapes and bruises. Their training gear in shreds, hiding barely their dignity.

Her eyes widen to uttermost fear. The taller form has lavender hair sweeping against its shoulder. An image of a lock of that hair in her hand flashes into Luna's mind. His face etches in a scowl and his bright blue eyes looking at her with slight confusion. The smaller form's face is formed in a more prominent scowl, looking very pissed at the interruption. He looks a bit older than the taller form. His black flame-shaped hair fluffs a bit in anger. She can make out what seems to be his tail twitching behind him in anger. An auburn-red color is its fur.

She can feel her own tail standing straight up in fear and her ears press against her head as she crouches down in defense.
/No…I'm in a nightmare. This isn't happening!/ A sudden image of that face that scowls at her is now gaping up at her in fear; blood seeped from his gapping mouth.

She screams out and clutches her head in her hands. /They're dead! She KILLED THEM!!/ She looks back at them with anger bubbling over. She then launches at them. Both don't have a chance to defend themselves as she knocks them both on the floor. She then straddles the purple-haired look-alike and begins pummeling on him, giving him no time to recover. A body shoves her off and pins her to the floor. Onyx eyes glittering with promised death stare into her fearful ruby ones.

"You insignificant whench! What gives you the right to knock down a King?!" that voice she remembers as being protective and caring, now is threatening and insulting her. This voice isn't her Tousan's. It's from a monster. An Android would say cruel things to her like that. Did she somehow wake up to find Androids had finally taken over and she is the only real being? Is her Tousan an Android? Artificially made to torment her life forever?

"NOOOOOOO!!!!" she wails out in agony as red consumes her body. Suddenly the body is off her and she can feel her energy surging. A killer will NOT push her down! She will NOT be tormented!

With that, she can feel the floor under her disappear. The air around her compresses over her frail yet powerful body. Suddenly the world explodes and darkness consumes her…

** An image of a lake seeps into her vision. Sounds of water rushing by with the faint `quacks' from ducks and geese sooth her. Children playing joins in. It's a park. Now she's walking over a stone bridge that crosses the width of the lake. Luna is lifted over the edge of one side on the bridge. She sits on the edge and a form stands beside her, leaning on their elbows over the edge. Hands reach up to gently take bone-white hair, soft and silky like cream. The tiny hands finger the locks. Separating one lock into three separate ones, the tiny fingers then loop them around each other, braiding the locks together. Bright ruby eyes look up to cheerful violet ones. There's a crack of a smile from ruby painted lips and a laugh breaks through them.
"Why must you braid my hair, Luna?" the mouth speaks to her in her native language- Kitasoran.
"Because I like to, Ka-saan," Chibi Luna answers and gives a smile. The woman laughs again. It sounds like angel's wings beating in the wind to Luna, calming and soothing. Luna loves her mother so. She never knew her father, as he died a few weeks after Luna is conceived.
"You know your father loved braiding my hair," her mother says in thought. Luna lets the braided lock go, finished with it, and works on another.
"Did he do it as good as me?" Chibi Luna asks with a giggle. Her mother chuckles then wraps her arms around Luna in a great big hug.
"Not even he could braid as good as you!" her mother teases lightly and makes loud smacking noises while trying to kiss Luna on the cheeks. Luna giggles in shrills as she tries to get away from the assault. He mother then pulls Luna off the edge of the bridge. She takes Luna's tiny hand.
"Let's take a walk around the city."
"Hai, Ka-saan."

Luna remembers this. This is the day her mother is taken... from under the hands of a monster. Claws tear into her mother's skin; blood taints her brightly colored clothes. Her screams plague Luna's mind. And there's nothing Luna could do; she is only three while witnessing the death of her mother.

"Luna, you must stay here, no matter what. I don't want that monster to get a hold of you. I have to let him chase me, but I'll be back for you, alright?" Luna starts to cry. Her mother hugs her to her breasts.
"Don't cry, honey. I'll be back for you."

Luna is pulled away from her mother's embrace and she watches her take a few steps back. Her mother smiles down at her. Suddenly she turns and shrieks out as a massive form of spikes knocks her down.
"Mommy!" Luna cries out, but it's silenced by a howl from the monster. Luna freezes in her spot, daring not make a sound. She stands in a dark space of a brick building in an alley, watching from a distance. She tries her best not to cry…

When the monster finally leaves after consuming nearly everything, leaving the bones and some flesh behind, Luna steps out from the shadows after nearly. By now it is dark.
She steps to a pile of bloodied bones and flesh. She sits down near what is left of the scalp and lightly ran her fingers through the fine white hair, caked in blood. Taking a lock, she separates the lock into three separate ones, and starts to braid it. Blood cakes her fingers, creating an adhesive. So her braid turns out messy. When she finishes the braid, she picks up another lock, and starts to braid again… and again… and again…

When she's finished, she stands up, just as a thunder claps in the air. She shrieks out in surprise. Looking up, she's met with a wave of raindrops. The drops fall so hard they sting her eyes. She snaps her head down, rubbing her eyes with her bloody hands. A sudden roar startles her. She looks up to find a form down at the end of the alley. Beady red eyes stare at her and she can make out the rows of spikes along it's body… **

Something wet and warm presses into her forehead, slowly bringing her awake. Her eyes scrunch a bit and she hears a light chuckle, sounding female. Her eyes slowly open to find a pretty blue-haired woman with bright blue eyes staring down at her. The woman smiles, making her more beautiful.
"Welcome back," she says lightly to not scare Luna. Luna looks at her with confusion.
"Where am I?" she asks low. The woman helps her to sit up. Luna finds herself in a bleached-white room, ceiling to floor, with beeping or clicking machines and weird gadgets as if for manual purposes.

"In my lab. It's the one out of four rooms you didn't destroy last night," the woman answers while walking away. Luna watches her. She has a fair body- good form, but not fighter-worthy. Luna can feel the small ki signature coming off this woman and guesses this is whom she felt last night close to her. The woman wears a short red cotton tank worn loosely and cut to show her midsection. Blue faded jeans cling to the woman's legs and hips, giving definition to her body, as if making an illusion she's years younger than she looks. But Luna can smell aging on the woman. Ningens never live long enough no matter what. On her feet, red high-top sneakers. Her blue hair is pulled back into a ponytail-

"I did what?" Luna asks with more confusion, suddenly remembering she needs to speak. The woman bends down at what looks to be a small white icebox. She pulls the door open, revealing some fruits, vegetables, plastic bottles, and what look to be experimental specimens in small containers. Luna can smell the ripeness of the food and her mouth instantly waters. The woman grabs one of the plastic bottles that seem to be filled with a clear liquid. She then closes back the box. Luna hears a slight hissing sound of suction. The blue-haired woman walks back over while speaking.

"You don't remember? You completely obliterated the Gravitational Chamber and nearly a third of the house without even lifting a finger. My son claims you powered up to a ki level that is far beyond comprehension," she snorts low. "About time a female intimidates that arrogant housemate of mine. Maybe he'll give us some respect now."

But Luna doesn't hear the last comment. /I didn't blow up the planet? I am capable of doing it, right? Tousan said so. I must be too weak from the last power up to even reach that level of planet-destruction. I failed. Not even Tousan will accept that. I'm so weak!/ Her hands clench so tightly they turn white. Suddenly a plastic object is held in front of her and Luna nearly jumps out of her skin.

"It's ok, it won't hurt you. It's just water." The woman grabs the white plastic top on it and twists a bit to pull it off. Luna jumps a bit at the crackling plastic sound it makes. The woman hands the bottle back to Luna. The hybrid lifts a hand and grasps the cold object.
Slowly Luna tilts her head back to take a sip, meanwhile not taking her eyes off the woman. She tastes water- so pure and clean. She then gulps it down like it's going out of style. Suddenly the bottle is empty too quickly and Luna lowers her head, gazing at the plastic empty shell.

"Wow, you packed that away!" The woman beams. Luna looks up at the pretty woman.
"May I have some more?" she asks low.
"Hai, sure!" The woman answers and goes back to the box. Suddenly Luna remembers something.
"I'm sorry," she blurts out. The woman freezes, poise ready to pull the box open, and she looks back at Luna.
"For what?" she asks, then proceeds to pull out another bottle of yummy water.
"For destroying… your housemate's Gravitational Chamber and a third of your house." There, Luna says it. The woman smiles at her while opening the bottle and giving it to Luna.
"Don't worry about it. He'll get over it whether he likes it or not. Plus I always wanted to give the house a makeover, just not as big," she lightly says and laughs out. Luna lifts the right corner of her mouth a bit.

"So what's your name, since this is the second time I've revived you," she asks.
"L-" Luna froze, feeling a wave of depression hit her. /Oh, my family. How I miss you all./ She looks away from the woman, feeling her eyes water.
"What's the matter?" she hears the woman speak in worry.
"I miss my family," Luna mumbles out.
"What happened to them?" the woman asks.
"They were murdered by a cold killer. I'm alone now," Luna adds low, feeling her eyes water.
"I'm so sorry," the woman whispers in empathy and suddenly arms are around Luna. Luna flinches away and grabs a wrist. She twists it to have the arm bend in a way it isn't suppose to go. The woman yelps out in pain.
"I was just trying to hug you! I wasn't gonna hurt you!" the woman cries out. Luna's face lessons from anger to shock. Then she suddenly lets the arm go and the woman brings it to her chest, rubbing it tenderly.

"I'm sorry. It's been a while since a Ningen had sympathetic feelings towards me," Luna explains with a hint of irony in her voice. There is a moment of awkward silence. Then the woman speaks up.
"You may look strange to us, but not all of us are that cruel."

Luna snorts with bitterness behind it and looks away.
"If it makes you feel any better, I am a scientist. I have no time to judge people. I admit I did when I was younger. But after years of searching the universe and staring death right in the face countless times, I came to a conclusion that what I think about someone doesn't matter when I watch them die in my arms," the woman explains. Her voice tints to determination on getting Luna to trust her.

Luna stares at her in silence the entire time, studying the other's actions, but mostly her eyes. They shine with a lifetime of sorrow. But at the same time a determination to be a loyal friend. After letting seconds tick by, Luna comes to a conclusion: she can trust this woman.
"Luna," she blurts out.
"What?"
"My name is Luna," Luna says with a slight smile. The woman slowly smiles. Luna faintly hears her sigh in relief.
"I'm Bulma."
