Heart And Soul of the Saiyain Prince
There once was a prince who was very young and very energetic. He was the prince of a powerful race of warriors, the Saiyains. Prince Vegeta was not alone because he had a twin sister. The only thing he openly cared about was her. They were each total opposites but together they were the perfect warrior. She was his heart and soul while he was her strength and fighting spirit. This is not the story of Prince Vegeta because that has been told. This is the story of his heart and soul, his twin sister, Princess Regina.
Chapter Seven:
A knock at the door jarred, both the lovers out of their peaceful slumber. Piccolo got up lazily, but when he sensed who was at the door, he froze. A panic overtook the Namek's usual stoic personality.
Regina rubbed her eyes, trying to wake up. And then it dawned on her, Gohan wanted to visit her today because of her illness.
"Just a minute!" Regina shouted.
Piccolo zapped clothes on him and her. "Get in the bed and look sick."
Regina laid back down pulling the covers over herself. Piccolo kicked miscellaneous articles of clothing under the bed. Piccolo answered the door with a stern expression.
"Oh, hi, Mr. Piccolo!" The teen smiled. "Are you here to visit Regina, too?"
"Why else would I be in her bedroom?" Piccolo folded his arms.
Regina snickered and Piccolo looked back at her angrily.
"Are you feeling better, now?" Piccolo snapped.
Regina sat up and nodded. "That senzu bean you gave me really did the trick. Thank you for stopping by."
Piccolo's eyes widened. What was he to do, now? He couldn't just leave. "Your training begins today."
Gohan walked up to her and felt her forehead. "I don't think she's well enough for that, just yet."
Vegeta leaned in the doorframe. "Breakfast is ready, Gina."
Regina's eyes lit up at the prospect of food that she could finally keep down. She practically launched herself from the bed to the door.
"Someone sure is feeling better today." Vegeta smirked, knowingly at Piccolo.
Gohan scratched his head. "Yeah. I thought you said it was a fatal illness. I didn't know senzu beans could cure something like that."
Piccolo got nervous. He knew Gohan really liked Regina, how was he supposed to break it to him. "As you can see, she is better. So apparently the senzu bean worked."
"Well, I'm glad!" Gohan smiled and it broke Piccolo's heart.
"You better hurry if you want any food. Gina had that look in her eye." Vegeta chuckled and went downstairs to eat. Gohan followed.
Piccolo stayed back for a couple minutes looking at the bed. A shiver ran down his spine as he remembered the night the shared. Nothing had ever made him feel so alive… he never felt like a man before.
But what was he going to do about Gohan?
Gohan was his best friend and Piccolo would do anything for the kid. But it was beyond his control to keep his hands of his dearest friend's first crush.
"This is going to be a long day." Piccolo mumbled as he went downstairs.
Regina looked up from the food as Piccolo entered. She could see his thoughts of last night and now of Gohan. Gohan was practically staring at Regina.
"Gohan," Piccolo's booming voice filled the silent room, "I need to speak to you outside."
"Uh, alright, Piccolo-sensei." Gohan followed Piccolo outside. "Is there something wrong?"
"Yes, we have a problem." Piccolo tried to start but it was just so hard looking at Gohan, and knowing how he felt.
"What is it?" Gohan sensed his sensei's nervousness.
"Regina doesn't feel the same way you feel for her."
"Oh." Gohan said calmly. "But how do you know?"
"This is very hard for me, Gohan. I never meant for this to happen." Piccolo droned on.
"What, Mister Piccolo?" Gohan looked eagerly at Piccolo.
"Regina and I have bonded." Piccolo said looking away from Gohan.
"You… bonded? Does that mean you've… uh…."
"Yes. Gohan, I'm sorry." Piccolo hung his head.
Gohan's anger flared and he struck his mentor in the jaw.
Piccolo rubbed his jaw, quickly getting into a fighting stance. "I tried to stop it. I denied her at first but that is why she became sick. I couldn't let her die, Gohan. I love her."
"You can't love her! I love her!" Gohan came at Piccolo with anger guiding his fists.
"Gohan… it is just a crush. There are more women out there."
Gohan struck Piccolo's gut. "The same could be said for you."
"Look at me, Gohan. How many women do you think would fall for a guy like me? You are handsome, powerful and kind." Piccolo tried to block Gohan's fast strikes but it seemed near impossible with the boy's speed.
"But I can't get the one I like! And to go behind my back like that!" Gohan went Super Saiyan in pure rage.
"Gohan… I'm sorry. If there was another way…"
"SHUT UP!" Gohan struck Piccolo to the ground.
Gohan powered up the Kamehamaha wave and aimed it for the fallen Namek.
A golden haired woman appeared in front of Piccolo. "Gohan, I won't let you do this. Anger is blinding your judgment."
"Regina?" Gohan asked.
"Yeah, kid. Look, I know you are upset but is killing your best friend going to make you feel any better? Is killing me going to make you feel better?" Regina floated up to Gohan and looked into his aqua eyes.
"Why him and not me?"
"Kid… I'm old enough to be your mother."
"SO!"
Regina knocked the blast from Gohan's hand to the sky. "You know Piccolo better than anyone. You can obviously see why I love him. You have a bunch going for you. But we could never be happy together, especially when bonding would change you. It would bring out your Saiyan urges. You would become violent."
"I just… wanted to be with you." Gohan powered down, his hair returns to black.
"I never wanted to hurt you but I want to be with Piccolo… not you. It was my decision so if there is anyone you should take your anger out on it should be me. But do not abandon your best friend. He loves you Gohan and he didn't want to hurt you but things just happened."
"I know. I know. I gotta go." Gohan flew off.
Regina's hair turned back to normal and she returned to Piccolo's side. "Piccolo?" She tried to jar him.
Piccolo sat up with a groan. "I think he broke every bone in my body."
Regina smirked. "You wouldn't happen to actually have a senzu bean, would you?"
"No."
"I guess I'll have to go get one then."
Vegeta tossed Regina a senzu bean. "The woman always insists I keep one around, not that I'd actually have to use it."
"Thanks, Geta." Regina put the bean in Piccolo's mouth. "There. All better."
"I did a great job breaking the news, huh?"
"There was no way around it. And it was good you didn't keep lying to him."
Regina helped Piccolo to his feet.
"We'll let him digest the situation for a couple months. Then he should be over it."
"And if it isn't?" Piccolo asked.
"We'll just have to believe he will be."
"I guess we should start working on that power of yours." Piccolo took Regina's hands in his.
"I only want to learn to control it. I am not a warrior."
"Of course."
So, Piccolo and Regina begun their training.
