Heaven's Gift to Me



Disclaimer: I own nothing of DBZ. I am a poor shaman living in the middle
of a desert with no $$$$$. So do not sue. I am merely borrowing Mr. Akira
Toriyama's brilliant characters. Plus I make no $$$$$ doing this, just
entertaining myself (and hopefully the reader).



Setting: Saiyajin Home World| Time: Two months after arriving


Little Brother


********* Haakon *********

Poop I hate bein a prince. You have to know sooo much ugh. Gives me a

headache sometimes. Papa is really nice and says I'll catch on soon and not

to worry. At least I have some friends I can play with that I won't

accidentally hurt like Earth kids. My new best friend is Raditz's younger

brother Kakarott, but I call him Goku since he looks just like him. He

thinks its funny I call him a non-Saiyajin name but he doesn't mind. He

said he'd answer to most any name so long a no one calls him late for food.

He can fight better than me too and is my favourite sparring partner.

Master Chuin always taught me that the only way to become stronger and

better is to fight someone stronger and better. Today I'm with Mamma and

Papa at the medical bay. We get to see the baby inside Mamma today and find

out if I'm gonna have a brother or sister. The doctor had just put a

scanner on Mamma's belly, it was funny too cause the baby was moving makin

the scanner jiggle. "Well lets see what we have here." Said the doctor as

he turned it on. A couple of seconds later I could see the baby all curled

up, but it looked different than me. It had wings and tail like Mamma, but

had spikey hair like Papa and me, only longer. I also saw little claws like

Mamma's when it opened and closed one of it's hand. "Well it looks like

another prince is on the way." The doctor told us. Mamma looked up at Papa

who was smilin real big and happy at her. She then looked at me still

smiling. "Hear that Haakon, your gonna have a little brother." She said. I

smiled back at her, but I was not as happy as I thought I'd be. I learned a

lot about the woman who bore me since I been here. I met my Grandfather,

her daddy and he was a good and nice man. Nothing like her, he was VERY sad

when he found out what she did to me and tried to do to Papa. I liked him

very much and visited him a lot so he wouldn't be lonely since Grandma had

died soon after the mean woman was born. I didn't mind being his grandson,

but now that I see my little brother I can see that I'm gonna look >different

than all my brothers and sisters that Mamma will have. I want to

be like them, I wanna be Mamma's REAL son. But I didn't know how I could do

that, I was born Saiyajin, not Saiyajin/dragon. When Mamma was done with

the doctors and stuff Papa went back to his work while she, Napa, Kale, and

Brock took me to the sparring room where Goku was waitin for me. Kale and

Brock were always with her as her guards, Napa was mine. "Monin Prince

Vegeta." Goku called to me when we came in. "Grrrrr, How many times do I

gotta tell you baka... MY NAME IS HAAKON." I shouted at him. I hated it

when I was called my Saiyajin, unless it was working with Papa; then I HAD

to be called Prince Vegeta. "Hey!" Mamma said to me like she was upset with

me. I looked up at her and she was upset. "Heh heh, I keep forgettin that

prince Haakon." Goku said with his hand behind his head. "Uunnhhhh, just

Haakon right now Goku... okay." I told him back. He smiled wider at me.

"Kay Haakon." he said. Mamma then gave me a hug. "Okay you two, I'll be

back in a couple of hours." "Don't knock eachother out again alright."

Mamma told us. "Okay your majesty." Goku told her. I nodded to her after

she let me go, she nodded back then left. I told Napa to stand out side and

keep watch. Then we stretched and warmed up, got into ready stance, and

began sparring. I should have kept my mind on my fightin cause Goku was

hitting me way too much than normal. He suddenly stopped and was lookin at

me funny. "What?!" I asked finally. "Your not concentratin on your sparrin

Haakon, what's wrong?" He asked me. I told him I was thinkin about how my

new brother was gonna have Mamma's dragon looks as well as Papa's Saiyajin

looks. "Well isn't the baby suppose to look like it's mommie and daddy?" He

asked me while scratching his head. "Yeah, I know that stupid." "It's just

it's also going to look different than me cause I'm not part dragon." I

explained. "Oh." was all he said as he got a look like he was thinkin hard.

A lot of people thought Kakarotto was pretty dumb cause he always had a

spaced out look when he thought. It was just cause what ever he did he was

REALLY focused on, so I knew he was thinkin about some way that maybe I

COULD become part Mamma. He blinked his eyes quickly then smiled really

big. "Hey we could go to Chikyuu, find the dragon balls, and ask Mr. Long

Shen to make you half dragon like your Mamma." He said excitedly. (O.O) My

eyes went real wide. I never ever thought that the dragon balls were REAL.

But then I thought of something else and that made me feel like it might be

harder then it sounded. "But we'd have to look all over the planet for them

and that could take a L-O-N-G time." I said. I wished that I knew a Bulma

that could make a dragon radar like the one in the Earth series. I then

remembered Azure and I knew I DID have sorta like a Bulma. "Come on Goku,

lets go talk to Azure." I called to him as I went out a window of the

sparring room towards the labs. I didn't want Napa in on this yet so I

didn't want him to see us. There we saw her at her favorite place makin

some kind of machine. I told her what I needed. "Well anything that gives

of a unique resonance signal can be tracked." "But I would need a sample so

I could calibrate the dragon ball locator to the correct frequency." She

told me. I was beginning to think this was gettin harder by the minute till

Goku spoke up. "That's no problem, I still got the one my martial art

teacher on Chikyuu willed to me when he died." "His name was Gohan and he

helped me get my focus strait so I could be a better fighter." "He sorta

treated me like a grandson ya know." He said. "REALLY, you got a dragon

ball Goku." "Way kewl, lets get it and bring it back to Azure." I said.

"Come on Haakon, I keep it at Raditz's place so Turlus doesn't try to take

it like he did before." "Big brothers can be poopy you know." He said. I

had to agree with him. Brenden was a big poop now and again to me too,

though I did miss him a little bit now that I wouldn't see him again. "Hey

you know if we find them all and I make a wish that you'll lose your ball

for at least a Chikyuuian year?" I asked him. "Yeah, I know.... but since

Azure is gonna make a dragon ball tracker I'll be able to find it later, so

no big deal." He told me. "B'sides your my best friend and Prince so I want

to help you." He added as he smiled at me. I smiled back, he was my best

friend too and I'd do what I could for him also. Raditz's place was really

big two story stone house with a green house in the back where his brother

Tata grew special Saiyajin plants. Tata wasn't really his brother, he was

adopted by Raditz's mamma Radina while she was still carrying Raditz. Tata

was born with a cripple hips cause his mamma took some drug while she

carried him. His real papa threw him into the snow to be eaten or die so

that's how Radina got him. She and Bardock didn't care that Tata couldn't

walk good, he was strong otherwise and that's all that mattered to them.

Tata wasn't cripple any more though now that my Mamma had healed him. We

saw him outside the house with Freya lookin at the house. "Hey Freya,

what's up with your house?" I called to her. She turned around a looked

surprised. "Haakon?" "Oh it is you." "Nothing is wrong with the house, Tata

and I were checking the blizzard shutters on the windows for this coming

winter." she told me. "So what are you doing here?" She asked me. Goku told

her instead and Tata let us in so we could get the dragon ball. "So how are

you planning to get to Chikyuu in the first place, and what are you going

to wish for?" She asked me while Goku got the ball. I had already thought

of asking Raditz and her to take us so I could surprise Mamma, so I told

her that. "You know Haakon Reginleif doesn't care if your half dragon or

not." She said. "I know Freya, but I don't want to look different than all

my brothers and sisters Mamma and Papa are gonna have." I told her. "(sigh)

Maybe so Haakon but what about Lord Corm?" "If you wish to be Reginleif's

son he won't be your blood grandfather any more." She explained to me.

"He's always gonna be my Grandpa Freya, cause I know he is." I told her.

"Well you've always been stubborn anyway and if I don't agree to take you

you'll probably get old Napa into trouble by getting him to take you two

instead." She said sorta pissed at me. "Too true." I said smilin evil at

her. (Õ.Ó) "You know Haakon... you are a REAL BRAT sometimes." She sorta

growled at me. (^.^) I just smiled more at her comment. After Goku got the

dragon ball we booked it back to Azure. Man the next three days seemed like

F-O-R-E-V-E-R. But she had it finished and by the fourth day I told Mamma

and Papa that I was just going to go with Freya, Raditz, Tata, and

Kakarotto to Chikyuu for the day so I could get them a surprise. Papa was

always worried when I'd leave the planet and Mamma seemed a little

suspicious but they let me go any way since I was takin Napa to be body

guard too. I liked Napa okay. Like Goku everyone thought he was stupid. He

just liked taking his time to think about things, except fighting that is

he was quick with that. It was going great, the tracker was picking them up

real good and clear. Only one more remained, and though it was easy enough

to find, gettin it was going to be harder. It was in the middle of a

volcano. Raditz and Napa both agreed it would take special equipment that

was not here at this time to retrieve it. I didn't WANT TO WAIT any longer.

I was gettin very upset, I wanted to do this now and no one had any ideas

how to do it now. "Hey Haakon, you can go super Saiyajin, why don't you

make a strong shield around yourself." "You could do it for a few minutes

ya know." Goku whispered to me. He was right, but I'd have only three

minutes tops before the heat of the lava would be too much for me, I could

get hurt pretty bad too. But I wanted the dragon ball more and nodded once

before I did just that. "HAAKON!" Freya cried. "YOUR HIGHNESS!, PRINCE

VEGETA!." the others called out as I went super Saiyajin before I dove into

the volcano. Man was it hot, I thought I was going to pass out till I saw

what I wanted. I wasn't about to give up now that it was in sight. By the

time I got it and flew out I zoomed straight to the near by ocean to cool

down. I felt a little sick and dizzy.... but I had the last ball. Raditz

snatched me out of the water and was checking me out for injuries since he

was a doctor and all. "I'm fine Raditz." I told him, wishing my voice

wasn't so weak. "Sure you are your highness." He said his voice all angry.

"Of all the stupid, reckless things to do." Freya shouted at me as we

landed. "But I got the ball." I insisted while holding it up. "Fat lotta

good that would have done if you had stayed in there any longer." She said

as she hugged me. While she did I could feel her using her ki to heal me,

she and Mamma were REALLY good at it now; I felt much better after that.

Soon we headed out to a remote location and summoned the dragon. He was

super huge and asked me what it was I wanted to wish for. When I told him

my wish he looked at me sorta funny, then seemed to smile. "Very well...

your wish is granted." He said in his booming voice. I didn't really feel

any different but I looked and I had wings, claws, and everything else just

like my yet to be born little brother. "I have fulfilled your wish, now

fare well..... little brother." He said as he disappeared along with the

dragon balls. "Little brother.... He called ME little brother?!" I said

confuse while looking to the adults. Raditz crouched down to my level.

"Your highness, the queen is the spirit of the Cosmos dragon reborn." "In

her spirits other incarnations she was mother to most every good, neutral,

elemental, or wish dragons ever hatched." "Though she is not physically the

same in this life, Long Shen still acknowledges the queens spirit as 'his'

mother since her spirit essence is, thus making you now 'his' brother

too." He explained to me. (O.O)"WOW! Then Mamma's got A LOT of babies and

I've got A LOT of brothers and sisters too." "But what is the Cosmos

Dragon?" I asked him. He looked down at the ground a minute before he

started to talk. "Well you know there are forces in the universe we call

Gods and Goddesses right?" I nodded to him and waited for him to tell me

the rest. "Well be they light or dark they have a limitation that they

cannot interfere directly with the affairs of mortals unless called upon."

"The dark Gods decided they didn't like being limited." "But since they

were bound by it they had to find a way around it so they could spread

their dark influences all over." "So they made a god-like creature from all

their darkest thoughts, giving it all like them save it was not a god in

one way; it could be killed." "Gods do not die, only merely go into a state

of regeneration with in a new avatar if harmed on the physical plane." "But

the creature they made COULD die, but it could also be re-born into a new

host." The host has to be willing though and must be perfect for the

entities purpose." He started. Raditz then sighed huge, shaking his head

slowly side to side. "Ofcourse there is no end to the numbers 'worthy' of

being so dark so a host was almost assured." "But since it is a whole new

being each life it got around the 'god' clause of the 'meddle not directly

with mortals, least called' limitation." "Eventually the avatar becomes

aware of their destiny and puruse that course." "They called their creation

the Abyss dragon." "Its scales are blackest black, devouring and destroying

all light in its coils.... save one." "The Gods of light decided that now

it was only fair to create a entity of opposite nature." "All light and good

beings were asked to give a tiny spark of their light to create what has

become known as the Cosmos Dragon." "She is made up of all those trillion's

upon trillion's of light given freely for the promotion of balance and all

that is light." "What is the difficult part is finding a host, that is an

avatar unable to be corrupted." "To attain this most avatar's endure

horrors in their young lives to test the strength of their spirits." "The

thing that seems to make your mother sad is the result of enduring such an

ordeal." "Her spirit was deemed worthy thus she became the avatar of the

Cosmos dragon." "All who know and understand her nature admire that it is

among the most uncorruptible and unbreakable in the universe." "That my

prince is who the Cosmos dragon is." Raditz finished. I didn't know what to

say, I knew Mamma was special; but this was different. I was now more glad

than ever to be part of her now. I looked at Freya who was smiling at me.

"Come on Freya, lets go show Mamma and Papa the 'NEW' me." I told her

smiling. "Gee, you look real cool as a half dragon your highness." Goku

told me. I knew he was using "your highness" because Napa and Raditz were

around so I didn't get pissed at him. "Yeah does sorta suit me don't it." I

admitted. There was one disadvantage of Freya being a half Saiyajin now.

Cause she whacked me on the head for bein 'smug'. "OW!" "HEY! WHY'D YOU HIT

ME?" I yelled at her. "Don't be so smug, Long Shen could have just as

easily said no." She snapped. Sheesh, what a grouch. I though to myself as

I rubbed my head. "Hey, lets see if bein' half dragon makes ya fly faster

Prince Vegeta." Goku said with a laugh as he jumped up and started to fly

off. "Your on,(XD)" I replied as I took to the air with him. "HAAKON!"

"YOUR HIGHNESS!, PRINCE VEGETA!." They all yelled as we took off, jeez is

that all they can say. I out distanced all of them super easy now but I

dropped back to save Goku's butt before Raditz caught up with him (^.^).

They all caught up with us at the shuttle about 45 minutes later. "Cripes

Freya had the meanest scowl when they landed.(Ò.Ó) ^You little freakin

BRAT!^ She sent to me. ^¦þ^ I sent back. ^Yeah wait till Reginleif finds

out THEN we'll see who has the last ¦þ.^ She replied. (Ó.Ò) Poop, and she

will too, ah well at least I got my wish. "Come your highness, let's get

you home now." Napa said once he caught his breath. I nodded and off we

went. Boy was Mamma and Papa going to be surprised.



********* Reginleif *********


Goodness Saiyajin babies were active practically from conception. I was

just slightly over two months pregnant and the baby was already the human

equivalent of five months. He was busy kicking and punching away while I

kept my eye on the landing pad from where I stood on the balcony of the

room Vegeta shared with me. Haakon had gone off to Chikyuu for the day with

Freya and the others. He seemed excited but acted as if he were hiding

something from me. His father had the same impression but we allowed him to

go never the less. He even took Napa so I supposed he couldn't get in too

much trouble....right. I felt a wave of relief wash over me as I saw the

shuttle he had left in coming in for a landing. ^I can tell by your mood

you've seen his shuttle landing?^ King Vegeta sent to me. ^Yes, are you

able to be there too?^ I asked. ^I shall be done presently, I shall meet

you both at the bay.^ He replied. I sent back a mental nod as I started out

of the room. Kale and Brock took their positions beside me after I exited.

Since I HAD to have body guards I was at least glad to have them as my

guards as I enjoyed their company very much. We entered the bay moments

after the shuttle touched down. I saw King Vegeta entering from a different

direction joining me at the bottom of the ramp of the ship. "I wonder what

the surprise is going to be?" I asked him as he placed a hand on my

shoulder which I nuzzled. "We shall soon see wont we." He replied coolly

stroking my cheek. We both turned our attention towards the shuttle as the

door slid open. What I saw made me feel slightly dizzy as it was among one

of the last things I had expected. I leaned against Vegeta to keep me

steady as there coming down the ramp was Haakon alright, but he had dragon

attributes just as the baby I was expecting had. "SURPRISE MAMMA, PAPA." He

chimed happily as he came got to the bottom of the ramp and looked up at us

with a wide happy smile. "How did you accomplish this boy?" His father

asked completely amazed. "I found the Dragon balls, made a wish and asked

the dragon to make me Mamma's REAL son, just like my little brother." He

told him. Vegeta and I looked at eachother. At first I thought he would be

upset but he quickly assured me he was not, just shocked. "Well this IS

most certainly a surprise." He said to Haakon. I nodded mutely, not

trusting myself to speak. Later as we had had supper, Haakon had told us

his version of the story (I learned the WHOLE story later from Freya). He

also told us he still considered Lord Corm his Grandfather though he had

wished away all genetic ties to him. Frigga commented that he just wanted

to have an edge over Kakarotto. But she also admitted he looked okay as a

dragon too. He stated she was just jealous. It might had gone further but

Vegeta was in no mood for siblings squabbling at the table and put a stop

to it. Afterwards as I helped get him ready for bed I finally asked him.

^Haakon... was it so important, you KNOW it NEVER, EVER made a difference

to me whether or not you were my blood son.^ I sent to him. He looked at me

with those deep black eyes, so open and serious. ^It was to me Mamma, your

not mad at me are you?^ He asked. I smiled at him then reached over and

ruffled his soft hair. ^No I am not mad at you.^ ^The fact is my son is

that I am deeply honored that you went to such lengths.^ ^I am so very glad

you came into my life Haakon, and I love you always my little one.^ I said

as I reached out and pulled him to me for a hug. His little brother let us

both know he too approved of the change or at least that "he who was yet to

be born" was there too. Haakon smiled as we parted and put one of his hands

on my jiggling belly. "Yeah now I'll be able to keep up with you brat." He

playfully taunted his unborn brother. Still smiling he looked up at me ^Oh

and by the way... I love you too Mamma.^ He sent. I felt sentimental tears

welling up as I leaned over and kissed his forehead. He then hopped up on

his bed, allowed me to tuck him in before I went into Vegeta and my

adjoining room. Next I went to check on how Frigga was doing. She was just

getting herself off to bed when I entered. After I gave her a hug and kiss

good-night she turned a confused face to me. "Mamma... how come I'm a swan

and not a dragon like you, Haakon, and the baby?" she asked. "Because your

mine and your Daddy's baby and your spirit is a swan, like a Valkyrie." She

smiled happy with my answer. ^You know I love you very much my first baby.^

I sent to her. She smiled shyly at me and gave me another hug and kiss as a

reply. I stayed in my room going over my Saiyajin language lessons when

Vegeta came wearily into our room. I could sense how tired he was, there

was a lot of negotiations going on and they were mentally demanding. I gave

him a good back message after he had had a nice hot shower to further relax

him. I thought at first he had drifted off to sleep till I finished my

ministrations. ^To tell you the truth I am pleased with the change.^ He

sent softly as he turned over on his back. He then gathered me into his

arms and drifted off to sleep with in moments. Goddess how I envy that

talent at times. I was glad he was happy with his son's wish. For myself I

was happy if it made Haakon feel better and yes in a way I too was pleased.

Soon I was joining my family in the land of dreams as the steady beat of

Vegeta's mighty heart lulled me to sleep.




(A/N: Cripes took me long enough to do this chapter. Got 7 new baby goats
to add to my herd, and are they beauties. Got more kids on the way in
March, can't wait. You all have a Good and Happy Yule. See ya next
