Re-Awakening
As Daisuke slowly opens his eyes with the similar feeling of fearing gripping him. But to his surprise and thankfulness, no sinister looking machines with blood stained tools.
“So you are awake huh?” Daisuke can't see the person who is talking to him because he is strapped down so that he can't move at all. “I'm sorry but Trunks told me that firing energy from your mouth is possible so I decided better safe than dead.”
Daisuke coughs because his throat is so dry. Suddenly the feeling returns to him only worse the sudden flash of blood being poured down his throat awakens an even darker fear.
`What if this place is worse than the other?'
He tries to struggle but finds an I.V. in his wrist that is connected to a small generator.
`Is that thing stealing my ki? This place looks so much more advanced than the dark run-down place I was before.'
The wheels on a chair squeak and Daisuke can hear foot steps getting closer and closer seemingly trying to drive him insane. Quickly doing the only thing he can he closes his eyes tight trying to wake up from hopefully a dream.
He feels a hand on his face, not an old rough hand but, a soft gentle touch.
He opens his eyes and finds a woman standing over him with long blue hair, “Hi, my name is Bulma.” after a brief moment of silence she picks up a glass of water that is on the table beside him.
She holds it up and Daisuke nods at the unspoken question. She loosens the restraint on his head enough so he can tilt it and she slowly pours it into his mouth.
As he finishes she turns, but is quickly startled by Daisuke touching her sleeve with his finger tips she almost screams expect instead of a blast of ki forming in his mouth Daisuke just looks at her and says, “I'm Daisuke.”
Bulma releases a heavy sigh of relief, “Nice to meet you, Daisuke.”
“Can you release me now?” Daisuke already fearing the answer to be the obvious one `no'.
Bulma looks into his eyes like she is trying to find something. She after a long minute smiles, “Sure.”
`Is she toying with me???'
With a grunt the pressure on Daisuke's legs is gone and he finds Bulma actually taking off the belts.
As she is working on the restrants she starts talking to him again, “My sort-a husband put these things on I'm not entirely sure why he insisted on doing that. I have to warn you if you are tricking me I have a bunch of really really strong friends that will kick your-”
“Bulma, I just don't want to be strapped to this table,” his voice is calm as the fear is gone, “I don't know how much time father had me on a table trying to make me-”
This time Bulma interrupts him, “A sayain.”
The word still didn't make any sense to him `what is a sayain exactly and why do people keep talking to me about it.' “Actually, I was gonna say better, he was almost doing things to me trying to help me.”
Bulma stands up as the final leg belt gives way, “Daisuke he wasn't you father, you should know that.”
“But he-”
“Experimented on you, Daisuke.” Bulma's voice trails off as she starts working on the upper body belts.
“What do you mean, experimented?” Daisuke's words hide his inner disbelief at what Bulma just said.
“You were a human, a normal, full blood, healthy human.”
Daisuke actually begins to laugh, “I still am.”
Bulma looks him right in the eyes, “No are aren't.”
His laughter died quickly as does his emotion all together, his lips lock into an emotionless frown, “So what am I now?”
“You are a sayain, a super sayain at that.”
`sayain again, now I'm super'
Bulma looks at him with a hint of confusion, “Sayains were a warrior race from a planet very far away from here, now there are only a few sayains left. I am guessing through very caveman-like methods and operations, Dr. Gero took you, a probably athletic, smart teenager and turned you into a full-blood sayain. I have reason to believe that he blocked or removed your memory from before you were a human which would explain your anguish about Gero's death.
Daisuke listens to the information thinking that she must be telling the truth because though he felt so sad and angry about Gero dying he didn't feel any love for him.
“Bulma I'd like to go.”
“Ok, just let me turn off the ki generator.” She flips a couple of switches on the machine and the I.V. releases itself and Daisuke's energy suddenly returns to him.
“I have to think about what I am going to do with the rest of my life.”
With few words Bulma leads him outside of capsule corp. gives him a red c.c. corp jacket that is longer than Trunks' and he flies away.
