***********
The Smell of bacon filled the air of the kitchen area. Eggs also were included in the air around Bulma and Vegeta. Dr. Briefs sat in the living room watching Bulma cook and Vegeta eating what she put in front of him. He smiled at the way things were looking out and read his paper. Mrs. Briefs walked by the kitchen to see Bulma placing more bacon and eggs on a plate and setting it in front of Vegeta and watched him devour it. Bulma walked back to the stove and began to make buscuts and sausage. Mrs. Briefs smiled and walked into the living room and sat next to her husband. She kissed his cheek and turned to see both Bulma and Vegeta staring at them, then quickly turned back to what they were doing. Mrs. Briefs sighed and turned to her husband.
"So what are you doing today?" She asked. Dr. Briefs turned away from his paper and looked at her.
"Well, nothing I guess, or nothing at the moment. Why?"
"I was thinking that we all go for a picnic in the park." Bulma turned from the stove and stared at her mother.
"Really mom? Do you think it is a good idea?"
"Sure Bulma! You can invite Goku and Chichi and Yamcha,"
"OH how detest him." Bulma said after her mother mentioned his name. She blinked a few times and coughed.
"Well, Bulma. We should invite him. And we can invite Krillin and Gohan and Piccolo." Bulma smiled and shook her head yes. Mrs. Briefs smiled, then turned to Vegeta who was staring at the two.
"Vegeta, would you like to go to a picnic with us?" Vegeta smirked.
"Does it mean more food?"
"Yes."
"Hm, okay then. More food means good energy." Vegeta said getting up from the table. He walked up stairs and into his room shutting the door behind him. Bulma turned to see him walk into the darkness of his room and smiled. Dr. Briefs sweat dropped as she turned back and sighed. She opened her eyes to see both of her parents looking at her with confused looks on both of their faces. She blushed and walked back into the kitchen, washing the dirty plates that Vegeta had just eaten off of. Mrs. Briefs got up and walked in the direction of the kitchen. She stared at Bulma and the way she moved and they way she hummed her song. It made Mrs. Briefs wonder what really happened in the Punishment Chaber. She ignored it and grabbed her water pot and headed for the sink to fill it up. She stood next to Bulma and stared at her. Bulma looked up at her and smiled.
"What mom? Going to water your garden? The flowers are really beautiful this year."
"Yes, I like to improve every year. I noticed that you are acting more cheery today. Are you okay?"
"Yes mom. I'm just fine. Just thinking about something." Bulma said placing a plate on a towel to dry. Mrs. Briefs sighed and turned off the water and grabbed the pot. She walked to the front door and placed her hand on the knob and turned back to see Bulma place the plates in the cabinet. She turned the knob and started her way out, closing the door behind her. Bulma had a small tune in her throat. She wanted to go on the picnic and tell everyone about her experience with a real saiyan prince. She smiled and sighed as she washed a few more dishes. She felt a presence behind her just stare at her. She ignored it and continued to wash the dishes. She hummed a song and smiled as she felt an arm on her shoulder. She closed her eyes and turned around to see Vegeta standing behind her with a scowl look on his face.
"Vegeta, Um, what is it?" She asked. Vegeta just eye'd her and looked into the living room to see Dr. Briefs sitting on the couch reading the paper. Vegeta turned back to Bulma and stared at her again.
"You tell one soul and I swear I'll kill you." Vegeta said, pinning Bulma up next to the counter. Bulma shook not knowing what Vegeta was going to do. She wanted so bad to yell at him but did not want to miss the newly scheduled picnic her mother had made. She did not want to go in the Punishment chamber again. She shook her head at Vegeta as he smirked.
"Okay, but I'll be watching you just in case woman, I know that you'll go tell your baka friend."
"Vegeta you can trust me I wont I promise." Vegeta stepped back from her and eye'd her again.
"Hey, are you two fighting in there?" Dr. Briefs asked from behind his paper. Vegeta turned to look at him as Bulma looked straight ahead.
"Uh, no." They both said in unison. Dr. Briefs grunted and turned a page in his paper and continued to read. The both sighed and faced each other again. Vegeta glared at her, then started his way upstairs and back into his room. Bulma stood in the kitchen alone.
`Well now what should I talk to Chichi about?' She thought as she walked out of the kitchen and out of the front door.
***************
"You see Bulma, you've got to water them evenly so they will bloom beautifully." Mrs. Briefs said. Bulma stood and watched her water her garden with joy flowing through every vein in her body. She seemed so cheerful and happy. Bulma sighed.
"Mom, can I talk to you?" Bulma asked. Mrs. Briefs turned to her and smiled.
"Yes." Bulma blinked a few times not knowing that her mother would want to know about her…problem.
"Well, uh, I was just wondering. Have you ever, uh, liked someone bad?" Mrs. Briefs stared at her.
"What do you mean Bulma?"
"Well, have you ever liked someone that no one else liked? I mean uh, someone rude and obnoxious?"
"Well yes Bulma. And I eventually married that rude and obnoxious man." Bulma stared up at her mother and looked shocked.
"You mean dad was a trouble maker?"
"Why yes Bulma he was. But I changed him."
"Maybe not fully."
"Bulma. Don't worry about it. Now what is on your mind?"
"Well, uh,"
"Could it be Vegeta?" Bulma grew wide eyed.
"Who said I'm thinking about Vegeta?"
"A mothers instincts I guess. Do you like him Bulma?"
"WHAT! ARE YOU CRAZY NO WAY!" Bulma yelled. Mrs. Briefs giggled.
"Oh Bulma I could just tell by the way you look at him that you like him. They way you smiled when he left the room totally gave it away. I'm just glad your father did not figure it out." Bulma stared at her and blushed.
`She totally new. Damn-it Vegeta's going to get mad.'
"Bulma. I just want you to be happy."
"Mom we aren't talking about marriage here."
"Oh I know that." Bulma blinked a few times as she looked up to Vegeta's room and stared at the closed shades. She looked back to her mother and stood there for a few minutes in the silence of the garden Bulma borke off the silence between them.
"Please don't tell Vegeta that I like him. I plan to tell him when I'm ready." Mrs. Briefs nodded and went back to watering her garden.
"You know Bulma I'm glad that we had this talk. I was beginning to wonder if we would ever talk about you and boys again."
"Oh mom, Vegeta's not a boy." She said. Bulma blushed a bit.
"So what do you guys do in the Punishment Chamber the whole time you're in there?" Bulma looked up and blushed.
"Well lets not get into that right now." Mrs. Briefs turned and smiled as she started her way back to the house. She turned back to Bulma who also started her way out of the garden. She smiled and walked inside, followed by Bulma. The two entered the kitchen and started filling it with food and drinks for the picnic.
"Bulma why don't you give Chichi, Yamcha, and Krillin a call and let them know about the picnic." Bulma nodded and grabbed the phone and sat in the now empty living room. She dialed Chichi's number first. The telephone rang for about 2 rings before someone picked up the phone.
"Hello?" A small voice on the other line asked. Bulma smiled as she knew it was Gohan.
"Hey Gohan. How are you?"
"Fine. How about you?"
"Oh just fine. Where is your mother Gohan?"
"She's in the kitchen washing dishes. I'll go get her. `Mom! Phone'" Gohan left the phone and yelled for Chichi. In about 30 seconds Chichi came on the phone.
"Hello?"
"Hey Chichi. It's Bulma. I want to ask you a question?"
"Sure, what."
"What are you doing today?"
"Hm, well if Goku and Gohan behave, then nothing why?"
"You want to bring Goku and Gohan on a picnic with me, my parents and Vegeta?"
"Um, sure! But why is Vegeta going?"
"Because it is more food, duh." The two girls giggled and sighed.
"Okay. Who else is going?"
"Well no one else so far. Can you call Krillin for me?"
"Sure."
"Okay, I'll see you at the park by my house then okay?"
"Okay, by." The two hung up the phone. Bulma sighed and picked up the phone again and dialed Yamcha's number. The phone rang off the hook until the answering machine came on.
"Hey! This is Yamcha. I've gone out for baseball again and won't be back until tomorrow. Leave a message and I'll get back to you. And if this is Bulma, I know what you did last…night!" A beep came on and Bulma hung up the phone. Did Yamcha really know what happened last night? There was no evidence to cover it so she could just lie about it. She smiled knowing that Yamcha will never find out and walked back into the kitchen to find that her mother had already packed the food. Her father and Vegeta were standing waiting for her as she smiled and walked up to them
"Okay, Chichi's calling Krillin and Yamcha's not home so we can go now if you want." Dr. Briefs and his wife shook their heads as Vegeta just grunted.
"Can we go now?!" Vegeta asked. Bulma smiled.
"Yes Vegeta, we can." Vegeta smirked and started for the door, followed by the others. The park was just across the street from Bulma's house (I know, it is not but in my story it is). Bulma walked over to her favorite tree which had a tree house in it built by her and Yamcha when they were little. She sat down and placed the blanket down and the basket on top of it. The sun was shining a hot ray, but they were in cool shade so it wasn't that hot. Vegeta sat on a distant tree, but not to far away to watch Goku and Gohan eat all of the food. He wanted more food. Bulma smiled and looked up to her tree house and started to climb up the ladder. She reached the top and walked inside to see everything that was up there, still in it's original spot. She walked up to the window and stared out, seeing Vegeta sitting next to the tree. She sighed remembering the conversation between her mother and her. She blinked a few times, but knew she wouldn't tell anyone that she liked Vegeta. She sat in the chair and stared out the window, waiting to see that stream of energy which would tell her that Goku, Ghan, and Krillin were flying in.
