Dragon Ball/Z/GT Fan Fiction ❯ If You Came Back from Heaven ❯ One-Shot
By Pareathe
This time my victim.. erm, I mean, my couple is Goku and Chi-Chi. The song (which is one of my personal favorites of all time, by the way) is If You Came Back From Heaven by Lori Morgan. Now for the sake of this story, let's say this is set right after the whole Majin Buu drama (before Goku, You're Late! Everyone's Partying!), and the reality that Goku is actually alive once again and will be home to stay is finally sinking in for Chi-Chi... Ah, gotta love heartfelt reunions! *coughwithlotsoflemoncough* Uh... did somebody say something...?

I wouldn't know what to say, I wouldn't know what to do,
If you came back from Heaven and I could look at you.~~~
Once again, the inhabitants of the planet would live to see another day. The world... no, the entire universe, had been saved from certain destruction at the hands of evil, and it was all thanks to one man. One not-so-bright, yet eternally wise and ever heroic man. One man who had not once in his life known defeat, and still managed to remain humble and dedicated to becoming even stronger still. One man whose very essence radiated of hope and purity. One extraordinary man... Son Goku.
'My husband...'
Her husband, who had been dead for almost eight years, had come back to them. Of course, Chichi had accepted that it would be a short reunion, for he had only been given twenty-four hours on the physical plane. She had, at first, been shocked to find out that he was being allowed to come back, no matter what the timeframe he was given. Normal people didn't come back to life, after all, though Chichi should have known that the idea was a moot point with regard to her husband. After all, Goku wasn't just any average human. He wasn't human at all... genetically, at least, although that had never really mattered. Goku was a Saiyajin by birth and ability, yes, but in his heart and spirit, he was as human as the woman who stood in front of the sink washing dishes now. Still, he was on a first name basis with every major god figure in the afterlife, for Kami's sake! Even they knew that when someone's in trouble, call Son Goku. He will always save the day... and he never disappointed them. Chichi was sure that there were very few of any race that could make such a claim, so as a gift to him for his saintly existence, he had been given his freedom for a day among those he had left behind.
She had been a nervous wreck, though she wasn't sure exactly why she had felt that way. Perhaps it was the thought that his return, even for just a day, seemed almost too good to be true. Maybe it was the fear that death may have changed him somehow. Of course, to her immense relief, both worries had been proven to be completely invalid. He had kept his word, just as he'd always done before, suddenly appearing before the entire group who were anxiously waiting. Everyone seemed caught between laughter and tears, just as Goku's own wife was. Chichi could not believe that he had not aged a day, though she shouldn't have been surprised. Saiyajins seemed to have an internal fountain of youth compared to humans, as both Goku and Vegeta proved incontrovertibly. The only difference that she could see, of course, was the golden halo that hung over his head. Figures that one little detail would be the one that would break his wife's heart in two. The halo... a constant reminder that after those few precious hours, he would have to leave... again. And this time, he wouldn't come back.
He had come back to participate in the World Martial Arts Tournament once again, this time with his eldest son, Gohan, as well as his life-long friends and comrades. At the time, he hadn't known about his youngest son, whom he'd never met until he arrived at the arena. He had been looking at Chichi, telling her that he had missed her with the sweet smile she loved so much when something caught his eye. Chichi still felt her stomach tighten with the mixed emotions as her mind replayed the moment Goku had laid his eyes on the mirror image of himself hiding behind her legs for the first time. To see the myriad of emotions that flashed over the man's childlike countenance... shock, bewilderment, realization, excitement, and then there was the joy. The pure and uninhibited elation at the sight of Goten, who quickly got over his own nervousness to run into the arms of the father he'd never met...
The father who was destined to leave once again, and much too soon...
Would I fumble for the words? Would I be a little shy?
Would I bust right out with laughter, or break right down and cry?
~~~
Chichi shook herself back to the present while fighting the tears that had come into her eyes. Someway, somehow, he had managed to do the impossible and save them all. How a simple tournament had turned into a interplanetary struggle to survive was still a mystery to Chichi, but she no longer cared about the what's and why's. How could she? It was that battle that had given Goku back his life. For the second time, her loving husband was alive and well and back at home with the family and friends that had missed him so much. How could one regret anything that could make such a miracle come to be?
For Chichi, it only capped a life with Goku that, in her mind, was full of miracles. The first, and the one she held closest to her heart, was meeting him when they had still both been children. It amazed her that after everything he'd seen and done since that day, the boy who'd grown over time to become one of the most powerful beings ever in existence really hadn't changed much. He was still so incredibly sweet and innocent, naive to a fault at times, and utterly unique in every way. She had not known on the fateful day when she encountered the, in her young opinion, very cute boy for the first time that her life would never be the same again. She could not have comprehended the immense impact he would have on her life. Knowing him, first as the girl he rescued, then as his wife, and finally as the mother of his children, had been an adventure all its own. How many women could say that their spouse was the sole protector of the entire planet? That their love together had created not one, but two children that wielded incomprehensible power while retaining the sweet and honest spirits given to them by their father?
How many women could claim that they had been widowed by that same man - a man who was loved so deeply and truly that it could make even the most jaded of women weep - not once, but twice?
That fact no longer mattered, not really. What matter was that he was back. He was alive once again, and he was with his children and his wife.
Chichi knew that in her mind. Still, her heart could not help but feel overwhelmed with so many mixed emotions... so many questions...
Oh, if you came back from Heaven, would it be like it was then?
Would we just pick up where we left off and try it all again?
Oh, if you came back from Heaven, it would freeze me in my tracks...
And I hope God knows if he let you go, I'd never send you back.
"Hey Chichi!"
Chichi almost dropped the dish in her hand as the cheery voice pierced through the silence of the kitchen. She drew in several long steadying breaths before turning to face the man that was smiling brightly from the doorway. "Kami, Goku, you scared me!"
Goku's smile turned into a thoughtful frown, his dark eyebrows drawing together. "I'm sorry, Chi. I didn't mean to... hey, what's wrong?" he asked suddenly, making his way purposefully into the room to come face to face with his wife.
Chichi quickly averted her gaze as she plastered on a small and hopefully convincing scowl. "N... nothing," she managed out, relieved that her voice didn't waver more than it had. "I'm fine. Where are the boys?"
"Oh... they're at Capsule Corp.," he explained. "Bulma suggested that they stay there for the night... I'm not exactly sure why she was so insistent, though," he admitted slowly, rubbing the back of his head.
His mind went over his conversation with his long time friend once again. In truth, his sensitive ears were still ringing from the tongue-lashing he'd gotten from his fiery friend when he'd questioned her offer. It had seemed as though the very thought of him having his family together his first night home was preposterous to Bulma. Goku, of course, was completely clueless as to why that would be. For him, it made perfect sense that everyone be together, just as they always had been. It didn't help matters that Vegeta had seemed quite amused with the entire thing as he stood perched against the wall, telling his own wife that she shouldn't even bother trying to explain it to 'the hopeless baka', as he'd called him. Goku didn't know what bothered him more: Bulma's anger at his near refusal, or the fact that Vegeta had not argued at all with his wife at the suggestion of keeping the boys overnight... as if both knew something he didn't. Of course, that was nothing new to the younger full-blooded Saiyajin, so he had finally just shrugged it off and accepted the curious offer. But now...
Chichi stifled a chuckle despite her tormented thoughts. Leave it to the blue-haired genius to pick up on something like that when Chichi's husband wouldn't... 'Thank you, Bulma, I owe you one...'
Chichi's silent gratitude was abruptly halted and her breath caught in her throat as Goku's calloused hand came up to cup her face. Goku ran his thumb gently over her cheek, wiping away the single tear that had streaked her pale skin during her earlier reverie. "Why were you crying?" he asked softly as he applied just enough pressure to bring her face even with his own, his eyes quietly searching her glistening onyx orbs.
"I...," she began, finally allowing herself to return Goku's intent stare, "I guess everything's finally catching up," she stated slowly as a new barrage of crystalline tears formed in her eyes. "You're alive again, and you're really going to be able to stay... you've come back to us... you've come back to me..." Suddenly she was on him, wrapping herself around his broad torso as far as her slim arms would go and burying her face into the orange fabric of his gi. "Thank you," she cried into his chest, her body wracked with sobs of both newfound happiness and pent up grief. "Thank you for coming back to me..."
It took a moment for Goku's brain to catch up, but when it did, he returned the embrace as firmly as her fragile human body would allow him to. He ignored the immense confusion he felt as he let his hand move in lazy strokes along the middle of her back. "C'mon, Chi," he soothed softly as he rested his head on top of hers, "of course I came back to you. Where else would I be?" His comment made her cry even harder, which in turn perplexed the tall Saiyajin warrior even more. What had he said that could upset her so much?
For as long as he'd known his wife, she had been one of the strongest people he'd ever encountered. It wasn't necessarily her physical strength, although she possessed far more than the average woman on the planet, but more her mental resolve and unwavering spirit that made her seem almost indestructible to Goku. He'd seen some of the most powerful beings in the universe cringe under her scorching glare or her razor sharp tongue, himself included, on several occasions over the years. When her mind was made up, it was as if the strongest energy shield was erected around her. There was no breaking it down... there was no way to beat it. Son Goku may have been unbeaten in battle against the enemies that threatened the existence of mankind, but facing his wife on the home front was an entirely different story. That was her element, and she ran it with an iron frying pan (A/N: Sorry, couldn't help myself ). Of course, being that Goku was less than domestic when it came to matters of the house, he had gladly given over all duties and responsibility of it to his wife. His expertise was in fighting... protecting. She had always been the caregiver of the family, and at the same time she was the immovable foundation of the Son clan. Without her, Son Goku was sure that everything would have quickly fallen apart. She was his rock... steadfast and virtually unbreakable. Sure, he'd seen her volatile temper flare or her eyes suddenly burst forth with tears on a whim, but normally it was a short-lived reaction due to something insignificant. Those moments had always passed quickly, and she had never... not even once, shown the sheer desperation that radiated off of her at this moment. This was a side of Chichi that Goku had never seen before, and frankly, he had absolute no idea what to say or do. How could he, when he couldn't understand why she was like this to begin with?
Goku held his wife for several more minutes as he silently debated how to handle the woman in his arms. Finally, he decided on the direct approach. He waited until he could feel the tremors of raw emotion within her body lessen until they had become soft, albeit still constant, sobs before finally daring to speak. "Chi...," he whispered against her hair. "please... don't cry. Tell me what's wrong, and I'll fix it. I promise. I just don't understand why you're so sad..."
"I'm not sad, Goku," Chichi muttered from her spot against him. "In fact, I'm happier than I've been in... in a long time. It's like a dream I never want to wake up from."
"But... you're crying, and... oh Kami, Chichi, I don't know why!" he finally cried out, his own strength withering at an alarming rate.
Chichi couldn't help but smile, even though he couldn't see it at the moment. She could hear in his voice how very much he wanted her to be happy, and that knowledge helped to fight off the rest of her tearful tirade. But how could she explain it to him? How could she make him understand it all? Then came the answer, for it was one they had used many times during their marriage. Chichi knew that Goku was not the brightest bulb in the pack, no, but he had an uncanny ability to read people's feelings and emotions within their eyes. He had done it with almost everyone he knew, most notably and surprisingly, the impenetrable Saiyajin no Ouji himself. This was how she had explained things countless times in the past. This is how she would make him understand now... through her eyes. For her husband, they would speak volumes in comparison to what any words could. This was the language he understood best, so she pulled back just enough to set her gaze steadily on his and let pour forth every tattered and torn emotion with her heart and mind.
"Oh Kami..." he whispered as his throat constricted painfully with the startling revelations her eyes provided him.
Would your kisses feel the same? Would you still have the same touch?
Or would you whisper softly that you've missed me so much?
~~~
It was a gaze that truly stole his breath away. Within it was everything she had felt since his death, and everything she felt now. He hadn't realized... how could he have missed this? She was happy to the point of outright bliss... that was plain as day, but beneath it... sorrow, loneliness, heartache, anger, fear... There were so many things that Goku had not expected to see and was totally unprepared for. Silently he cursed himself for his single-minded aloofness. He should have known she would be far more affected than he by his absence of so many years. While he had been content to train in the afterlife, she had been left alone to care for Gohan, and Goten soon after. She had shouldered everything with the courage and strength he admired in her. He knew this for a fact. That was her way. But still... had she been able to grieve? He honestly didn't know. Probably not, considering she would not have wanted the boys to see her in such a state. She would have put on the happy face for her family as she always did so that they could move on the best they could. The knowledge of that made Goku's insides knot with shame as his eyes began glistening with liquid regret. Kami, if only he could have looked down more often!
This was what Bulma had been screaming at him about. This was what she had tried to tell him... that his wife would need him, and him alone, that night. There was time to be made up for, and there were wounds that needed to be healed which required his full and undivided attention.
And now she had it. "Chichi..." This time both hands came to cradle her face with a touch that would rival the most elegant rose pedal. "I'm so sorry, Chi," he managed out with a ragged breath as he pulled his forehead down to meet hers.
Chichi leaned her head into one of his palms, reveling in the feeling of his warmth on her skin. Kami, she had missed that... "Don't be," she answered quickly. "You're home now, and that's all that matters to me." She let her eyes close slowly as she basked in the feelings being revived within her heart, soul, and spirit. "Oh Goku... you don't know how much I've missed you..." she admitted with a sigh as she let the soothing essence of her husband wash away the years of pent up turmoil within her.
"I didn't," he told her honestly as his face became serious. "But I do now." And with that, he brought his chin down, his lips brushing hers lightly, lovingly... almost tentatively, yet with defined familiarity. Their lips knew each other well, even after so long apart. They had learned both physical and emotional love from each other over the length of their marriage, never ceasing once from the night of their honeymoon until the night before he had gone to face Cell. No one aside from perhaps Gohan had ever really known just how affectionate the couple had been within the privacy of their own home, how often they shared a soft touch or a lingering kiss when they thought no one was looking. Ironically, it was Chichi that shied away from displays of public affection, not Goku, although people who knew him wouldn't have been surprised. He was known for his carefree and unhindered manner, it was what made Son Goku... Goku. He would have loved nothing more than to stay wrapped around his wife whenever they were somewhere together, and who cares if anyone was there to see it? It was Chichi that told him from the beginning that there were certain things you just didn't do when out in the open, and in the end, he never bothered to argue the point with his headstrong wife. Now he almost wished he had.
The thought of her slapping him silly came into his mind, making him smirk against her mouth. 'Almost.' Although that particular train of thought did give him an uncharacteristically wicked idea...
Chichi felt his smile and pulled back from him, her face twisted with the stern scowl Goku knew far too well. "I should have known you couldn't be serious, even for five minutes!" she declared impatiently as her arms moved back to a more normal position on her hips.
"I am serious!" he cried even as his grin spread wider still. "It's just that I've really, really missed this... all of it," he explained, pulling her against him once again. "I've really missed you... especially when you're flustered and your cheeks go all red and your cute little nose flares..."
"Uh!" she cried, slapping her hand harmlessly against his chest. "You are absolutely hopeless!" she fumed with what was left of her quickly dissipating anger.
"Hai," he agreed willingly as he brushed his nose lightly against hers. "I'm a lost cause."
Chichi tried to stay mad. Really, she did, but... it was so damned hard when he was smiling down on her with so much love and affection! 'Damn him for being so adorable!' her mind cursed as his gleaming eyes and playful smile completely disarmed her from within. Of course, she resigned readily, for she was far too thankful for his mere presence once again to hold any grudges. If he had been any other way, then that would prove that he had changed... and she didn't even want to think about what that would mean. All she knew for sure was that, no matter how infuriating he could be, she wouldn't have him and couldn't love him if he were any other way.
As if reading her mind, he nodded. "I know, Chi. I know. I promise to make it up to you, though." The glint in his eye left no question as to how he intended to do it as his nimble fingers went quickly to the clasp of her hair clip. Her hair barely had time to fall loose, and the clip itself had not even hit the floor before one of Goku's hands weaved into the thick black locks of his wife's hair, using it to pull her onto his mouth with an intensity he usually reserved only for battle. Chichi melted against him automatically, her own arms coming up to wind around his neck, her mouth opening readily to her husband's demanding lips. Their tongues met furiously, feverishly, as they rediscovered the inner warmth of the other that they had been denied for so long. The level of passion they still felt for each other, even after so many years together amazed them both, but it only drove them on even more.
Goku used that moment, not to mention years upon years of training to concentrate and remain focused, to find what he was looking for within his mind as his wife simply lost herself in her husband's arms. Chichi didn't even realize what was happening as Goku's free hand went to his forehead, and the walls and furnishings of the house around them shifted...
Have you heard all my prayers when I lay down at night?
And did you feel my body as I held your pillow tight?
...and was replaced by a clearing surrounded by trees on three sides and a small stream down from a small, yet beautiful waterfall on the other. A lush blanket of grass covered the ground where they stood, though several thin paths of dirt and rock marked where trails in and out had been made.
Chichi blinked as a soft evening wind whipped the bottom of her dress around her legs. She pulled away from Goku quickly as her confused mind took in the sight of the familiar area for a moment before turning back. "Wha... what are we doing here?" she asked, shocked to find herself, not only out of the privacy of her home, but in a place she was sure Goku didn't know about.
Goku shrugged as he let himself look over the lovely clearing for the first time... in his life, at least. "I've seen you come out here several times over the years. You usually sit on that rock over there," he stated matter-of-factly, pointing to a large boulder that hugged the edge of the grass under the shade of the trees. A soft smile graced his angular features, making him appear more like an angel than a man under the slowly setting sun. "I can't believe I never found this place myself... it's really beautiful."
"Yes... it is, but..." Chichi stammered as her mind fought to catch up, "you... you said you've seen me..." Goku nodded solemnly as his eyes rested intently on hers. "But how?"
"You can see everything from up there," Goku explained, his eyes moving for a moment to motion to the sky before coming back to rest on her again. "I was only allowed take a peek from time to time, and time moves a lot slower when you're dead, I think.... that's the only reason I can figure for why I didn't know about Goten... but I looked down every chance I got... just to make sure you were okay. Plus, being able to look down here and see you made it easier... not much, but a little..."
Chichi realized she had been holding her breath, so she let it out slowly as she let her brain take in what he'd told her. He'd been watching her. He hadn't been completely preoccupied with training and having fun while he was gone... he had actually worried about her! "You know," she began, motioning to the area around them, "Gohan is actually the one who found this spot, but the first time he brought me here, I thought of you. It seemed like a place you would really like... so I came here any time I wanted to feel close to you," she admitted softly.
Goku watched his wife as she walked around the small glade until she came to the bank of the stream. He followed her until his body was against her again, wrapping arms of steel around her tiny waist and grinning once again as he felt her fidget. It was strangely comforting to know that she really hadn't changed at all as he felt her discomfort grow. "Now we can enjoy it together," he whispered against her ear, letting his breath caress the side of her face as one hand gently traced small patterns against the fabric covering her stomach. He let his other hand roam, although it took everything within in to keep from laughing out loud as she tried to twist away from him as her own breath became quick pants of building desire. Under normal circumstances, he wouldn't have dared make such a bold advance out in the open, but he held one very strong advantage this time.
'I doubt she'll try to kill me since I just got back,' he told himself happily. 'Might as well make the most of it.'
Oh, if you came back from heaven, would it be like it was then?
Would we just pick up where we left off, and try it all again?
Oh, if you came back from Heaven, it would freeze me in my tracks...
And I hope God knows if he let you go, I'd never send you back.
"G... Goku?" Chichi questioned as her entire body was ignited by the touch she'd wanted for so long even as she wiggled and writhed against it. "Wha... what are you... ah.. what are you doing?"
Goku chuckled. "I think that's pretty obvious, Chi."
His lips were now trailing feather light kisses down her neck and around her ear making her head swim with want... with need! All the while, his hands were running over every inch within their reach, dedicating special time to the places they knew turned her completely inside-out. "Then we should... go home..."
"Why?" his voice, now lowered seductively, purred against the already tingling skin of her neck. "I like it here. Don't you?"
"Y.. yes... but... we can't... we can't do this... out here!" she cried out, although it was not nearly as convincing as she had aimed for. In truth, she was fighting a losing battle against the craving to simply pull the god-like body that tortured her to the ground and to HFIL with anyone that could walk up and see!
Of course, if Chichi's voice had not have given her true desires away, then her scent would have told him just as blatantly as if she were waving a banner. Goku silently thanked Kami for his sensitive Saiyajin senses as his own body reacted instantly to every change in her - her shallow breaths, the gravel undertone of her voice, the slightest tremor of her body, and the sweet, almost perfumed, scent of her need for him. It took every ounce of self-control he had to keep from ravishing her on the spot, but he had to hold on, for she deserved no less than his absolute best. He let one hand moved to her back, tracing the zipper of her dress suggestively, content to push his own need aside to worship her for a while. "Sure we can," he replied softly even as his fingers took hold of the zipper on it's second trip and moved it down, letting the remaining fingers trail the newly revealed skin beneath. When he felt his wife twist this time, he simply used it to spin her completely around before puller her flush against him once again. Her eyes lifted to his immediately, defying her as they burned fiercely into his own impassioned gaze. "This is our place," he stated softly as his hands ran over ever inch of her back, slowly pulling her dress away from her at the same time with his calculated touch, "and this is our time. We can do anything now that we're together again."
For some reason Chichi couldn't fathom, that one potent yet innocent statement shook her to the core, and with it every inhibition within her went out the window. Without a word, she dipped her shoulders enough to coax her dress completely off, earning her a rather surprised and undeniably lustful look from Goku. Then she was on him, one hand weaving into the unruly locks of his raven hair while the other ran down the contours of his chest until her fingers felt his shirt meet his waist. Their mouths met with unbridle relish as both worked furiously invading the other with velvet caresses. With a quick tug, Chichi made an opening and her hand dipped under his shirt to run over the deep ridges of his abdomen, his muscles flexing under her slim fingers..
Goku's self-control followed Chichi's self-consciousness almost immediately. The sudden need to feel her body against his without the barrier of clothing was overwhelming, so Goku pulled back long enough to remove all of the annoying garments that separated them - and in record time, much to Chichi's amused delight. Then with the speed he was famous for, she was off of her feet in his embrace, his mouth hungrily devouring her even as he moved to a particularly thick patch of grass. Without leaving the ambrosial warmth of her mouth, he laid them both down with her on her back and he hovering just enough above her as not to crush her, yet every inch of him that could touch her would. That was what he longed for... the feel of her overheated skin against his.
Good Kami! It had to be his only sin, Chichi mused, that he could make her body feel this way as every pore, every follicle screamed for him. She groaned softly as his sweet lips finally departed, but was replaced by moans of unfettered pleasure as that same majestic mouth made its way along her jaw and down her neck. He used every tool at his disposal, tracing, licking, nicking, and suckling the tender flesh he found, his lips running languidly over her collarbone, and down it went still until he was making teasing circles around the pronounced nipple of her left breast, all the while not touching the nub itself, making her crazy. She shifted, writhed, twisted, and all in vain, for still he managed to keep his wondrous mouth from missing a beat. Damn him and his trained reflexes! The growl that erupted from her throat was apparently enough to coax him to stop the agony, for his teeth finally grazed over her nipple lightly before it was caught between his lips. Chichi's back arched instinctively, and Goku threaded his arm beneath her to hold her steady as his mouth moved from one to the other neglected breast, repeating the glorious ministrations expertly. Then they moved away as his lips moved slowly along the soft stomach, his tongue making lazy circles around her bellybutton. He let his free hand trail down lower, parting her thighs slowly and tracing soft lines on the inside of her legs. Chichi opened them more in a silent plea, and Goku complied with a low growl as he placed her legs on his shoulders, both hand and mouth claiming her burning womanhood with feral hunger. Chichi cried out and fisted both hands into Goku's unruly spikes as Goku's tongue moved over her aching nub in slow, precise strokes and a finger teased her entrance. Then the finger slipped in, circling the whole of her inner womanhood and bringing Chichi dangerously close to the edge. "Go... Goku..." she moaned, holding onto his hair like a lifeline as she thrust her hips forward, driving him onto her even more.
Goku was pulling every devilish trick he knew this night, for tonight was one he was going to make sure she would never forget. There was no lack of time, no children to wake up, no chance of someone dropping in unexpectedly, and no outside commitments. Tonight was not borrowed time as it usually is when you are stealing precious moments between the rigors of life. This was time that Goku felt he had earned. It was time to collect for every battle he had fought, every life he had saved, and every precious minute he had been without her to accomplish it all, and the time that had been stolen from him to fulfill his destiny and save everyone on the planet.
He worked his mouth and hand both in perfect rhythm with the other before finally adding the finishing touch. As he let smell and taste of her overcome all of his senses, his chest immediately responded with a soft purr, but it quickly became louder as it came into his throat, and he used every last bit of cognitive thought he had left to direct the sound toward his prize. It was the only part of his Saiyajin heritage that she had truly accepted (for obvious reasons), and only after he had revealed it by accident in the early years of their relationship.
The response was immediate and delightfully powerful as the vibrations electrified Chichi's entire body. She bowed up instinctively as her pleasure broke all barriers and she screamed his name for all the heavens and Earth to hear and bear witness. Wave after wave of mind-blowing release swept over every iota of her body and spirit until she could no longer even keep her legs up, letting them slide down Goku's arms to fall useless to the grass below. The sensation traveled to her arms, making them like jelly so that she let go of his hair entirely so they could join the rest of her exhausted body.
Goku made his way back to meet his wife face to face, reveling in the sheer beauty of her in the afterglow of her climax. Her normally pales skin was flushed, shining softly with a thin sheen of sweat, and her half-lidded gaze burned gloriously like black fire. Her perfectly round breasts moved up and down deeply with her heavy breathing, and her normally perfectly kept hair was strewn wildly around her head like a halo. Then there were her lips, slightly swollen and parted oh so invitingly... he couldn't help himself as he brought his mouth down to claim them and his own aching arousal now thundered demandingly for release. Still, he would wait, for he wanted to know what would please his wife first. Once that was taken care of, then he would move to the less important matter of himself.
It took Chichi several long minutes to begin thinking clearly again, but finally she felt her mind emerge from the pleasure induced fog and some measure of strength return to her limbs. She used it to wrap her arms and legs around the embodiment of physical and spiritual perfection above her. "Goku," she rasped against his lips, bringing his attention to her. She nearly gasped as she looked onto his controlled visage. It was painfully obvious that his patience was costing him dearly, though she had no intention of making him wait much longer. She yearned for him to be within her just as much as he did, but there was something she wanted from him first. "Goku... I want... I want you to do something for me..."
Goku's soft smile broke through his pinched features, and he brought one hand to trace the line of her jaw. "Anything," he promised blindly.
Chichi took a deep breath. She had given this a lot of thought since his rebirth, and though she was quite wary of any custom that was inherently Saiyajin, this one particular thing was one she was ready to embrace wholeheartedly. "I want you to bond with me."
And if, God forbid, you leave this Earth
Again while I sleep,
I hope he knows, if you go,
You'll be bringing me.
Goku's entire body froze. His eyes widened as he took in his wife's serious stare. "You... you want me to bond with you?" She nodded slowly. "You mean a Saiyajin bond?" Another nod, this one even slower. For a moment, Goku was so shocked he could only stare blankly as his mind spiraled in panic. Surely she couldn't know what she was asking, could she? He searched for any sign, anything at all, that would show she wasn't serious, or perhaps did indeed lack the understanding of her request. Luck was not with him this time, as it was quite evident she was fully aware of what she wanted from him, and there was not the slightest hint of anything but a determined pleading within her onyx eyes. Oh Kami! She was totally serious! And he had said he would do anything she wanted, but this...
"Chi, I...," he stammered, fighting to form the words to deny her. He wouldn't do it... he couldn't!
Chichi knew what he was doing, just as she had known he would. She had expected no less, considering the implications of what she was asking him for. "Goku, I've talked to Bulma a lot about this, and she told me everything..." And she had. They had spent an entire day going over each and every intricate detail of what Bulma's bond to Vegeta was like and what was entailed, and Bulma had already warned Chichi that Vegeta had done the same with Goku shortly before the Cell games. It was then that she had learned for the first time that Goku had considered asking her to perform the ritual that would tie them together. That was, until Vegeta explained the single downfall in it.
"Then you know why I can't do it," he replied softly, his own eyes pleading for her forgiveness for breaking his word. He remembered all too well what Vegeta had told him about the bond. Had circumstances been different, Goku would have smiled at the memory of Vegeta telling him that dismissing the idea of bonding with Chichi according to Saiyajin mating customs was the one and only smart thing Goku had done in his life. For once, he agreed completely with the Saiyajin no Ouji, even if it was in response to yet another false claim that the Prince was going to kill him eventually. On the other hand, there was the small nagging fact tugging at the back of his mind - the fact that Vegeta had eventually taken a bond himself. Still, in Goku's mind, the risk was just too great. "Kami, Chichi, I'm sorry, but I can't do it!"
"Listen to me," Chichi ordered gently as she cupped his chin so that he could not break away from her face. "I know that the bond would tie our souls together so that they would be dependent on each other from now on..."
"Hai, and if I were to die again," Goku broke in, "you might...," the thought immediately made his eyes well up even as he spoke the cursed words out loud, "it could kill you, too."
Chichi closed her eyes. "I know, Goku."
"Then how can you want me to do this?" Goku questioned frantically, hoping... praying that she would change her mind. "How can you ask me to do something that could hurt you? Kami, Chi, look at what I am asked to do! I've died twice defending this world, and I can't act like I'll never have to do it again. I've only got one more shot. If I die for the third time..."
"I know that, too." Chichi's eyes took in his face slowly, reverently. "Goku, I love you more than anything. If you were to die again, I wouldn't want to be here alone anymore. You've died twice, and I've been a widow twice! I've lived too much of my life without you, Goku, and I don't want that... I can't do that again. I'm not asking you to put me in danger, Goku. I'm asking you to take me with you from now on, no matter what you have to do or where you have to go. I want my soul and spirit to be with you always, just like my heart has been since the day I met you." Her own eyes began glistening with the threat of tears, but she welcomed them as she continued her impassioned plea to the man she so emphatically and painfully adored. "Please... I need this from you. I need this promise that I'll never have to be without you again."
Goku watched as if in a trance as Chichi's tears began sliding gracefully down the planes of her lovely face. Kami, he had missed her... and that thought along with the idea of never having to feel alone again... It was a rather comforting thought, despite the fear the idea spun within him. She had been through so much, so much more than he himself had been, for she had been left behind so many times...
'I'm asking you to take me with you from now on, no matter what you have to do or where you have to go.'
He would never have to feel the sorrow of leaving her behind again...
'I want my soul and spirit to be with you always, just like my heart has been since the day I met you.'
Kami, to be able to feel her spirit within him, reminding him of what he kept fighting for...
'I need this promise that I'll never have to be without you again.'
To never have to face another day without her...
"Are you sure this is what you want?" he asked softly, slowly, and with a level of severity that Vegeta himself would have been proud of. He wanted absolutely no misunderstandings, for completing the ritual would require something he rarely did around his wife, or anyone else, unless he was powering up to beat the hell out of them. For this, the soft and gentle Goku would have to step aside, for only the Saiyajin instincts within him could complete the primitive, yet delicate process of creating the permanent mating bond. In a last ditch effort to warn his wife of what to expect of him if she consented, he closed his eyes and allowed the feelings of his long denied nature to spring forth. His throat suddenly let out a soft, yet deep warning growl and his lips drew back to show bared teeth, his canines more pronounced than Chichi had ever seen them. When his eyes opened again, they weren't the soft and innocent eyes of Son Goku, but the feral and fiery orbs of a true Saiyajin warrior. And those eyes were directed intently on her.
Had he sprung horns and pulled out a pitchfork, she still wouldn't have changed her mind. After all, Bulma had warned her that even Vegeta had become more... well... Saiyajin that usual when he performed the ritual. Of course, it didn't change the fact that she had not imagined her husband in such a way. Too stunned by the dramatic change to speak, Chichi simply nodded with the bold determination she was famous for.
Goku smirked as what was left of the human in him was thrown aside and his mind went on autopilot. "Then tonight you become mine, and I become yours," he chanted soulfully as he took each of her hands into each of his, winding their fingers together and bringing her arms over her head. Then his mouth came down with a level of demanding Chichi had never known the man could muster. She thanked Kami that he apparently was still making the necessary allowances for her body's greater fragility, though he was pushing it to the very limit. Everything from the pressure of his mouth to the weight of his body on her was so close to painful it was frightening, and yet... Chichi could feel her own adrenaline rushing to compensate for the new sensations, therefore making every place he touched that much more sensitive. It was as if every nerve in her body went into hyper drive and her mind became amazingly focused. She could feel every muscle in his body move, even if only slightly, so when she felt his manhood come to her entrance, she simply shifted her hips up ever so slightly...
The growling purr was her only warning before he thrust himself completely into her. She would have screamed in pure ecstasy had his mouth not caught it, as he had already known he would need to. This was one time he did not want his ears ringing from their lovemaking, after all. He kept his mouth firmly in place, working furiously against hers as he drew his hips back, plummeting into her warmth again with near brutal force. Then his rhythm was set, fast and furious, sending her upwards and to her glorious peak in mere minutes. He listened carefully to her breathing and the beat of her heart even as he felt the muscles of her body and his. The moment was almost at hand...
He released her lips mere seconds before her first wave of release hit and she threw her head back in anticipation even as his chin dipped to find the covetous place on her neck where he would forever brand her as his mate. The wall of pleasure shattered, and Chichi cried out twice, first from the intense pleasure of climax, then from the sharp pain of Goku's razor sharp teeth breaking through the delicate skin above her collarbone. Then another new and undeniable need pounded in her psyche, the intense desire burned through every cell in her body, the aching ferocious need... Her vision fazed into a shade of blistering crimson and her entire body felt as though it were on fire. Then her own mouth produced a wicked snarl just as Goku leaned down and bent his head to side to reveal the spot that would forever be hers, and hers alone. Without a thought, her teeth sank into his bronze flesh as his own pinnacle was reached, thundering through them both just as he weaved their conscious minds together. She gasped as her body reacted immediately, her entire being once again becoming lost in the sensations of the almost painful release, that of her husband. Still he moved within her, though his pace had become much more sedate as he simply wished to draw out the sensations for as long as possible as his mind completed the difficult task of joining their souls together in an eternal union. Then he shifted off of her and collapsed, pulling her tightly against him as they both fought to breath and think normally once again.
Oh, if you came back from heaven, would it be like it was then?
Would we just pick up where we left off, and try it all again?
Oh, if you came back from Heaven, it would freeze me in my tracks...
And I hope God knows if he let you go, I'd never send you back.
After many minutes, Goku opened his eyes to find his wife laying against him as if she were sleeping though he knew she wasn't. He closed his eyes lightly and smiled, feeling the deep love and gratitude she felt towards him for giving her that which she had desired so much.
//You are so beautiful.//
Chichi's eyes popped open at the voice of her husband. She looked to him in confusion for a moment before realizing that he had not actually spoken outwardly at all, but rather inwardly.
His brow furrowed in concern. //I thought you said Bulma told you everything about this?//
"She did," Chichi assured him quickly as she snuggled against his chest once again. He heard her take a deep breath, the there was the feeling of her searching, investigating the new, yet ever familiar presence within her. //But this is so much better than I imagined.//
Goku chuckled. "Yeah, I've got to admit that I'm surprised myself. I would have done this years ago had I known how great it felt."
//Which part?//
This time Goku laughed even more at his wife's question. Normally that type of suggestive hint was reserved for the rare times they were completely alone and there was no chance anyone could hear.
Goku could already tell he was going to love this... //Hmm, ask me after.//
//After what?//
Her answer came in the form of one incredibly handsome Saiyajin that was suddenly draped on her again as the soft, supple lips came to meet hers tenderly and a strong hand began caressing her once again.
//Kami, Goku... you really are hopeless!// her mind screamed at him as her body reminded her of her exhaustion. Even with her eyes closed and her mind falling immediately beneath a new cloud of growing passion and desire, she could literally FEEL him grin.
//Yep.//
I hope God knows
If he let you go,
I'd never send you.. back.
