Goten was lying on the floor with his arms perched up above his head on a stack of pillows. Spyre still laid limp in a corner, he had stirred once of twice in the past couple of days, but still hadn't woken up. The sky outside had gotten strangely brighter, if that weren't a bad thing Goten would've been happy about it. He had begun to miss the sun, but he could live without it if it meant his death.

"Wait!" Goten raised his head, he had forgotten about his ship. If he needed to leave he wouldn't have much time to go searching for it.

"Spyre I'll be back soon." Goten said to his unconscious teacher as he went out the door.

Spyre chewed on a thin stick that was caked with a burning herb nervously. It was beyond him how it stayed light in the rain, but this was supposedly his paradise. He was feeling more on edge than usual, true that this place gave the meaning to ominous, but something was happening around his limp body. He could sense it. Spyre bent over in a coughing fit. The burning herb and its smoke disappeared from his mouth, the destroyed city began to get patching in its realism. He was waking up, but he couldn't breath. The eyes on his real body snapped open, the first sight he met was blazing flames. Spyre rolled off of his back and onto his knees. The hot coals on his pants burned a hole into his knees and he jumped up.

"How the hell do you light a stone temple on fire?" He yelled in a panic as he poked his head out from the door. Outside he saw a group of men, they seemed to have some sort of workstation going. It was then the screams that he thought were the fire became very apparent to him. They were the screams of men, men who were held up on giant wooden crosses by stakes in their wrist bones. The large wooden crossed were being leaned up on the burning temple.

"Bastards!" Spyre said as he stepped fully out of the temple. He was one that remembered the process of crucification all too well; they did it to his master. The men stopped and raised their swords to him. Spyre thanked Amen that his young apprentice, or whoever took care of him, didn't remove his sword. These men were nothing compared to the golden warrior, or those hordes of hybrids. One quick thrust and a long short swing brought down three of the nearest men and the others began to scatter. Quickly Spyre began to hack at the ropes and pull out the stakes that held the black haired dark skinned men to the temple.

"Finally I found the little devil!" Goten said clearing the vines from the spacecraft. Goten typed in a small code in the keypad by the door and the ship began to capsule itself. The screams of young men finally reached Goten's ears. He pocketed the capsule and ran off immediately into the forest.

"Thank you…" The first man that had been crucified said as the last stake was painfully pulled from his wrist.

"Why were they doing this to you?" Spyre asked grasping his shoulders.

"They caught me, I was trying to stop Amen. Then they decided to kill my whole tribe, and the traitor at the same time.

"Trying to stop Amen?" Spyre said with his face turning serious.

"He is coming, can't you tell. I couldn't stop him. We will all die today." The man leaned over and started to cough. "Watch out!" he yelled as he stuck his hand forward. An arrow jabbed out of the other side of his palm and he growled in pain. Spyre whipped around and saw nearly a whole battalion there. Spyre scrambled for his sword but a metal plated boot crushed his hand. Taacho picked up and stake and lunged at the man knocking him over. Brutally he began to thrust the stake in and pluck it out violently. Some of the others of the tribe transformed into their beastly state and bum rushed the soldiers. While the battalion was busy Spyre picked up his sword. Taacho was interrupted from his brutal onslaught by an arrow piercing his back and making him fall forward. He yelled in fury as he tribe was brought down by a volley of arrows from the back. Taacho yanked the arrow from his back and grabbed a fallen soldiers sword. He stumbled up besides Spyre and stood in from of the battalion. The leaders sword was in mid signal of a charge when the rough swirling of Ki was heard. Goten stood limply by a tree with his lips trembling in fury. He drew his sword and presented it in front of him. The electric Ki of Super Saiyan swirled around it. Goten charged forward with his sword out to his side. He didn't even have to swing it, the sword cleaved through body after body. Spyre charged followed by a rather proud looking Taacho. Bodies fell before the swing of a sword, or the slash of a metal spike. The last of the men ran from the scene, and Spyre and Goten were left facing each other with swords drawn.

"You helped me…" He said after a moment of silence. Goten smiled and threw his sword to the side.

"Of course, I'm your student." Goten let the super Saiyan state slip away and he reverted to normal. Spyre's face was emotionless, but the feeling of shock overtook him.

"Stop!" Taacho yelled while holding the wound on his shoulder and examining one of his tribesmen. "You feel that…we must leave this planet now"

"I don't feel anything." Goten said calmly. It was at that moment that the ground jerked forward heaving them all towards the ground. The clouds in the sky began to thin and disappear. Goten covered his eyes as the light purple sky and it's large orange sun shined down. The planet heaved and began to quake. Goten pulled the capsule out and threw it on the ground. The ship unfolded and the door to it opened up. Taacho beckoned them forward and entered the ship. Spyre stood up and dusted himself off, but he didn't move.

"Hey, aren't you coming!" Goten yelled at the older man.

"No, this is were I belong." Spyre said sounding very self-assured of his decision.

"You're going to die!" Goten yelped out. Spyre turned around, and for one of the first times ever, he was smiling. Really smiling, the dimples by his lips were etched into his face.

"I didn't find my son, but I won't give up. Goten go, and take this memento of your master." Spyre's eyes were watering with tears of joy. He took of his heavy leather jacket and threw it to Goten. The ground was starting to crack and beams of light and wind blew upwards. Spyre's hair rose up to the sky and Goten finally got a good look at him. Goten reluctantly was pulled into the ship by Taacho. The last thing he heard from his master was laughing. Goten rushed to the window after he activated the launching sequence. The planet had gotten even brighter and was starting to crumble. Spyre stood in the clearing by his burning temple, and the dead soldiers and tribesman, with his arms stretched out towards the sky. Before he lost sight of him Spyre turned around and gave a short wave to Goten. His body disappeared into the mixture of light and crumbling rocks.
