It had been three years and they still kept the window open.
She came to her house every night just to check up on things.
She crawled into her room thru the window.
She stepped her foot onto the ground and walked around looking at everything.
They had left everything the same.
They hadn't even closed the window, not anytime.
They hadn't moved the furniture, washed the sheets.
They hadn't moved anything; everything lay still in her room.
A single tear ran down her cheek, more followed soon after.
She didn't make any sound.
She felt a presence behind and was going to make a run for it.
They laid a hand on her shoulder, as if they knew she would have run.
More tears ran down her cheek as she turned around very slowly.
She turned towards the person and saw their tears as well.
She gasped as she recognized who it was.
