It Will Happen: Another Bulma & Vegeta Get Together
Chapter Five
Mind Battles
"ERR, sorry, did I interrupt something." It was Goku's silly voice, accompanied by that goofy laugh, of his that was responsible for the intrusion. Reluctantly Bulma looked up at her best friend who was, expectedly, scratching the back of his big head!
"Kakarot!" Vegeta growled. "Why don't you ever use the door you uncivilized fool." Commenting on Goku's Instant Transmission technique.
At that Bulma looked at Vegeta. 'Wow. Was he just teaching Goku social etiquette? Amazing!' She thought as she rubbed her bottom from the hit it received of the cold floor.
"Man, you sound just like Bulma." Goku said with another grin as he put out his hand to help Bulma up. What Bulma really felt like doing was kicking Goku in the shins, but she refrained from the urge.
"What do you want Kakarot?" Vegeta growled while he continued to stuff his face as if nothing had happened between them. 'And nothing possible happened Bulma told herself sternly. 'We must have both just got caught up in the moment. Yes, that was it! It was not like it mean anything. Right?'
"I just came over to check if you wanted to spar?" Goku said. "But I think I have time for lunch first." He said as he eyed Vegeta's food with undisguised hunger.
Bulma rolled her eyes. 'When was Goku not hungry?!'
Luckily she was saved by her mother who chose that moment to walk in.
"Oh hello Goku dear. Have you come to join Vegeta for lunch?" She said as she cheerily went to ready food for Goku.
'Thank you Kami.' Bulma raised her eyes heaven wards as she silently walked out of the kitchen. Although she knew her mother would never notice her departure and Goku was too busy salivating over his food, Bulma felt a pair of eyes boring into her back and she had to fight the urge to run up to her bedroom!

"So you and Bulma hey." Goku gave Vegeta a sly smile.
Vegeta ignored the comment and went over to the Gravity Room's counter. However he felt the woman's energy moving away from the grounds. 'Where was she off to?'
Goku had seriously contemplated whether he should let his oldest and best female friend get together with someone like Vegeta, but his heart had been the one to finally accept the decision. Besides, who was he to prevent a life from being born. And Trunks was a great kid.
Truth be told, he admired Vegeta. The man was a strong warrior, worthy opponent and nothing if not determined. He also believed that deep down, Vegeta was really not all that evil. And this coming from the man Vegeta wanted to kill.
But even though he loved to see the good in people he knew that it was not just his normal characteristic of seeing only the good in people. There was some good in Vegeta. He had seen it when the man had cried at his death, when he had saved Gohan and when he had chosen to stay on Earth to help fight the androids. Vegeta may not know it, but he was already changing.
Goku knew that Vegeta was the way he was because he didn't know better! Vegeta wasn't given the chance to be anyone else. But Goku knew, that if anyone was going to teach Vegeta how to love, it would be Bulma. They were perfect for each other.
When Trunks had told Goku who his parents were Goku had fell down with laughter, but the more he had thought about it, the more it made sense. And if something was meant to happen then Goku knew it would happen!
Goku was pulled from his thoughts with the force of gravity as he fell flat on his face.
Vegeta smirked. "I know you're strong Kakarot but that does not mean you can day dream when you said you wanted to spar."
"Vegeta, this is madness. I can't even stand up." Goku complained.
"Yes, of course. You've only trained in one hundred times gravity, but I've reached four hundred times gravity."
"That's great Vegeta but could you shut that thing of."
"You're brainless Kakarot. If you turn into a Super Saiyan you will be able to handle the gravity."
Goku looked at Vegeta uncertainly but Vegeta just stood still staring at him.
Vegeta really didn't want to see another show of Kakarot's impressive Super Saiyan powers but he knew that Kakarot would need some time to get used to the gravity, even while being a Super Saiyan. That way the difference between there powers would not be of a great magnitude. Also, Vegeta wanted to see how much Kakarot had really progressed so far and how much of catching up he still had to do.
"Alright then." Goku said before transforming. In the blink of an eye Goku's hair was a yellowish blonde and his eyes were a beautiful shade of turquoise. He was then able to stand and face Vegeta.
Vegeta suppressed the urge to grit his teeth and wave a clenched fist in Kakarot's face. "Well then, let's do this." Vegeta said as he lunged forward.
The two Saiyans were engrossed in their sparing match, which was being battled in mid air, throwing punches and kicks everywhere while still trying to keep up with each other.
"You know, I've know her since I was a boy. She's great." Goku said while he and Vegeta held hands in a merciless lock.
"Who?" Vegeta asked, though he knew exactly who Kakarot was talking about.
"Bulma." Goku said.
"Kakarot, I do not want to talk about that annoying woman. And I don't care if she changed your diapers too." Vegeta snarled as he shoved his knee in Goku's stomach.
There hand lock broke before Goku fell to the ground clutching his stomach. "Vegeta, I just had lunch."
"Well then maybe you shouldn't have eaten so much." Vegeta grinned evilly.
"You know, she didn't change my diapers." Goku said as he stood up. "But she did give me a bath."
At this Vegeta raised his eyebrow.
"Yeah, Bulma wasn't to pleased with my woodsy behavior so she dumped me in a tub. Even washed my hair." Goku scratched his hair in remembrance a smile playing on his lips.
Vegeta didn't like the sound of this story and he found himself defying all his control and emotional indifference by asking, "Was there something going on between you two?" He felt himself hold his breath while waiting for the answer.
'Got you!' Goku thought. It was obvious that Vegeta was more interested in Bulma than Vegeta himself knew. "Oh no! Never. We were always friends. Besides there was a major age gap. The only love we have for each other is as friends."
He did not miss the breath that Vegeta exhaled and Goku, using Vegeta's lack of attention to his advantage, punched him in the face, sending Vegeta flying across the floor. He grinned at Vegeta. 'That was just for not being able to admit your feelings to my best friend.' Goku thought as Trunks' words played in his mind. Though he knew, that in this time line, things would be different!
And from after the scene he had witnessed today he could rest a little easy knowing that Trunks would most definitely be born. Also Piccolo and Chi Chi would not have to keep nagging him to stay out of it.
"You'll pay for that Kakarot." Vegeta growled as he launched himself at Goku.

Up in her room Bulma grabbed her purse from her dresser and left her home. She knew just the thing that would make her feel more like herself again.
She was not going to sit around and dwell on what happened or didn't happen between Vegeta and her. Besides, she had a date tonight, a date with her boyfriend.
And there was no way she was going to let Vegeta ruin her evening!
* * *
Vegeta walked into the house bloody and bruised. His black spandex shorts burnt badly making it impossible to be worn again.
"Damn that Kakarot!" Vegeta cursed as he made his way through the lengthy halls of Capsule Corp. "Damn these long halls." He grunted as he walked slowly to his room.
All he wanted was a hot shower before sinking into his bed and giving himself to deep slumber.
After an hour of sparing, Kakarot had adapted to the Gravity and was at full power. It took all of Vegeta's power and every ounce of his guard to keep up with the third class Saiyen. Both Saiyans had refused to give up and the battle had raged on for almost five hours until they both fell to the floor defeated. Their breathing heavy and body weight feeling like lead they had just lay there for some time. Until Kakarot had said his good byes and used his Instant Transmission just as he lay on his back.
And even though Vegeta had gotten more than a good few blows in at Kakarot it had not improved his jealousy at the other man being a Super Saiyan. But at the end of their sparing session he felt a touch better knowing he sent Kakarot home, just as badly beaten as himself.
"Kami Vegeta!" Bulma's shocked gasp broke through his reverie.
'Not now!' His tired mind moaned and his aching muscles cried out for rest. 'On second thought, maybe I won't take that shower.' Vegeta thought as he made to walk pass Bulma pretending as if he hadn't heard her. 'Hopefully she'll leave me alone.' Vegeta thought, averting his eyes from her. Of course where this woman was concerned he had no such luck. She stood in his way blocking his path.
"Leave me alone woman." He growled turning a deathly stare upon her in hopes of frightening her away. However when his eyes fell upon her his look of death turned into one of pure awe.
She had tamed that wild hair of hers and now it lay in a sleek sheath around her beautiful face, instead of the huge curls that used to stand up around her head. The blue green tresses fell softly below her collar bone and curled temptingly above her full breasts.
But it was not only her hair that captured his attention. She was wearing a simple dress in royal blue but the silk material clung to her feminine curves and accentuated the creaminess of her skin and the deep blue of her eyes.
Vegeta instantly felt the familiar tug of desire for her pull at his loins. 'Maybe a cold shower then.' He thought to himself. 'But why should you?' The evil voice in the back of his head said. He frowned at the question.
'She's turning you into a body of lust every time you're near her. She's even beginning to disturb your training wish must not happen. Take her! Take what you want, like you always do. Get her out of your system.' Vegeta listening to that wicked voice in his head. It did make a lot of sense.
'But she has a mate.' Vegeta reasoned.
'How pathetic are you.' The evil voice said as if mocking the weaker voice in his head. 'That is not your problem. Do you want your training to be interrupted any more than necessary. Do you want Kakarot to extend the gap between you two?'
At that, Vegeta made up his mind. Pushing all thoughts and reasoning from his already exhausted mind.
"Come on." Bulma said as she pulled his hand and literally dragged him down the hall. He told himself that he did not have the energy to stop her from her leading him to his room and that he did not feel like hearing her shriek or having to argue with her now. He was not allowing her to order him around because he was speechless over her new appearance. If anything was going to happen between them he would be in control! And he knew that if he wanted this, it will happen.
Bulma was horrified at the sight of Vegeta dragging his feet through the hall. He looked as worse as the day he had when he blew up Capsule 3.
He was bloody, bruised, sweaty and even burned in places. She could see the fatigue in him from the extinguished aura of power and vitality that normally surrounded him. His normally tanned skin was paler than usual and dark circles lay under his eyes. In short, he looked like hell.
She had been on her way to wait for Yamcha in the lounge when she had stumbled upon him. She had not expected him to come up so early but obviously his work out with Goku had left him exhausted.
Bulma had not really wanted to help him but she could not stop herself from doing so and she had needed to do something when his long stares had made her skin itch uncomfortably.
Vegeta was surprised when Bulma did not lead him into her room but instead took him to her own room which was next door to his. Though he did not protest as his own want and curiosity got the best of him.
