"I look silly crying over a man, I hardly even know." She said as she grabbed a blanket and made a bed next to the horse. (AN: Pan has no home, she sleeps in the stables and Trunks has no idea.) She cried herself to sleep.

/the next morning./

"Oh what a night," Pan yawned and stretched. She went, grabbed some clothes and went down to a waterfall she had discovered on the ranch. She undressed and started to bathe. "Oh that feels so good." She sighed as she let the water run down her body.

After the waterfall shower, she put on some a checkered shirt and some overalls. She pulled her long black hair into a ponytail. "That oughta do it." She smiled looking at the reflection of herself in the water.

She then felt her stomach growl, "Time to eat," she exclaimed as she walked up to the main house. Since she and the others had started working at Capsule Farm, Trunks had been kind enough to let his employees to eat with him.. She walked up to the back door and knocked on it. Marron answered

"Pan, come for breakfast again, I see." Marron said giving the younger girl a cold look.

"Hai Marron," Pan said noticing Marron's look. ~~Pan, she isn't worth it~~ She told herself.

"Alright, Trunks and the others have already started. Go on in."

"Thank you Marron." Pan said trying to smile.

Pan entered the dining room. "Good morning everyone,"

Goten and Uub looked up, "Good Morning Pan Chan." Goten greeted her.

"Yeah, good morning Pan." Uub greeted as he shoved food into his mouth.

Trunks who was busy reading the morning stock reports finally looked up. He smiled when he saw the raven haired goddess that stole his heart. "Good Morning Pan Chan."

Pan however didn't answer. She was quite upset at what he did last night and this made Trunks confused. "Pan what's wrong?"

"Nothing," Pan replied. Trunks got up out of his seat and went over to her.

"Did I do something?" He asked.

"Like you don't know?"

"No, I don't. Tell me, what did I do?" Trunks had no idea what Pan was talking about.

"Pathetic! Briefs, for a business man, you are extremely stupid." Pan couldn't stand being around him any longer so she took a piece of toast and left.

"Pan? Pan?" Trunks called after her. He turned back around knowing he'll only infuriate her more if he followed her. He sat down in the chair he got up from. "Can someone please tell me what I did to receive the cold shoulder?"

Goten and Uub shrugged their shoulders. "My niece is an extremely stubborn woman."

"Stubborn?! Stubborn?! That is the understatement of the decade. No, Pan isn't stubborn. She is outright being difficult." Trunks yelled. Trunks started ranting about basically nothing. Goten and Uub shot looks at each other and shrugged.

/In the Stables./

"How are you this morning Katana?" Pan asked as she took care of the horse: grooming it, cleaning out her stall and giving her fresh hay to eat. "Katana, never let a man fool you. Men are idiots who will break your heart and act like they didn't do anything wrong." Pan talked to Katana for awhile. After about ten minutes of being out there, Pan noticed that Uub and Goten had joined her.

"Hey Panny, what's the matter? Did Trunks do something to upset you?"

"No, he didn't. Can we let it go?" Pan got defensive.

"Pan, if he did something, you can tell me."

"Well, he didn't do anything. He’s just being an ass that's all." Pan lied.

"Is it because of Marron and him? Look Pan, I know you like him-" Goten replied.

"I don't like him. In fact, I hate him."

"Well, the way you look at him would tell me different."

"I thought I liked him alright. Until he just screwed me, then went back to her as if nothing happened." Pan started crying. "I gave myself to him, Goten."

"I'm sorry Pan Chan. Look, Trunks Briefs doesn't deserve you crying over him. Alright? So just dry those tears, alright. Besides, you can't avoid him forever. You and him still have to train Katana. The new track is opening up in less than three months." Goten told her.

"I know. I just don't want to spend anytime with that gigolo." Pan stated. She then heard a laugh.

"Gigolo?? Is that what you think I am?" Trunks asked.

"Isn't that what someone is called when they date many women breaking their hearts?" She asked.

"Pan, I didn't mean to hurt you. I care for you, but I care for Marron also." Trunks replied putting his head in his hands. "I'm so confused Pan. I don't know what to do."

"Why did you have sex with me and then tell Marron it didn't mean anything?"

"I had to lie to her. I'm sorry. It wouldn't look right to tell her that you were the best sex I had ever had Pan. In fact, no woman has made me feel the way you do. You awakened a life force in me that lay dormant for many years. Because of you, I feel alive again." Trunks smiled.

"Liar," Pan accused.

"What?" Trunks was shocked at the accusation.

"Liar, you are a liar!" Pan answered.

"Pan, I just poured my heart and soul out to you and you call me a liar?"

"Yes"

"Why?"

"This is exactly your game. You tell a girl that you feel for them, that you had never felt for another woman and they swoon and fall at your feet. Well, guess what? I'm not one of those women. I won't fall for your tricks."

"This isn't a game, Pan. I don't play with a woman's heart. When I feel love, it's genuine. I love you. Grant it I thought I loved Marron, but she doesn't excite me and drive me crazy like you do." Trunks took ahold of her hand. "Pan, I know last night wasn't exactly right, but I'm not gonna regret making love to you, if you would call it that. I do because I did it with the one woman I love." He got down on his knees.

"Trunks, get up,"

"Pan, I'm not expecting you to forgive me and act like nothing happened, but I'm hoping you'll at least try to move on so that we can be friends and work together. Cause if we don't Katana will never be ready."

Pan looked at him. "I'll try Trunks." Trunks smiled.

"Thanks Pan." Getting up and pulling her into a hug.

Pan pulled back, "We should get started if we want her ready in time."

***a few weeks later***

Pan had put her hatred for Trunks aside and worked with him to get Katana going. "Got it." Trunk said stopping his stop watch.

"What is it?" Pan asked

"She ran the mile in 2 minutes 54 seconds. She has to do better if she wants to beat the other horses out there." Trunks replied.

"She's getting better though." Pan said patting the horse, "I think we’ve done enough today. It's getting hot out here and Katana should be inside where it's cool."

"Alright," Trunks replied motioning for Uub to come over.

"Yes sir?"

"Take Katana in and cool her down."

"Yes sir." Uub grabbed a hold of Katana's Reigns and led her to the stables.

"Pan, she needs to do a lot better than that. If that's the best she can do by herself, how fast do you think she will go with an extra 100 pounds on her."

Pan was confused, "What do you mean by ‘an extra 100 pounds’?"

"Pan, we need a jockey."

Pan put her hand to her mouth, "Oh my, I almost forgot. Where are we gonna get a jockey?"

Trunks all the sudden was staring at Pan's petite form. Pan noticed this. "Oh,no…No, no, no… I am not racing that horse myself." Pan refused.

"Oh come on Pan. How much do you weigh, about 99 pounds?"

"93 pounds," Pan corrected

"Alright, 93 pounds. You are the smallest person I know besides Bra and Marron. Bra wouldn't get on a horse, let alone race one and Marron… Well, she's just scared of them."

Pan smiled at the last comment. "Marron's afraid of horses?"

"Yeah and for the life of me I still don't know why."

Pan giggled. "That seems weird to be scared of a harmless animal."

"Yeah, but Marron has her reasons I suppose, but enough about her. Will you do it?"

"I'll make you a deal. I’ll do it, if you can't find a more suitable one when race day approaches."

"Oh Pan, you are the best!" Trunks lifted her up and spun her around.

Pan started getting woozy, "Uh, Trunks?"

"Yeah, Pan."

"Can you stop twirling me? I don't feel so good." Trunks stopped twirling and set Pan down.

"Sorry Pan. Do you feel sick?"

Pan nodded. "Yeah, I think I'll go lay down," she said as she started walking towards the stables. She started feeling dizzy like the ground all the sudden was moving under her. She put a hand to her forehead and collapsed to the ground.

"Pan?" Trunks ran to her. "Pan, are you alright?" Pan laid unconscious. Trunks lifted her up and ran her upstairs to his bed.

"Trunks? what happened?" Marron asked as she watched Trunks carry an unconscious Pan upstairs.

"Get me some water and some smelling salts, Ron Chan."

"Yes sir." Marron replied.

Trunks got to his room and put her on his bed. "It's gonna be alright, Pan." He said. Marron came in carrying a bowl of cold water, along with a rag, and the smelling salts. Trunks wet the rag and put it onto Pan's forehead. "Marron, call the doctor." He demanded.

"Yes sir," Marron replied as she left to make her phone call.

Trunks turned his attention back to Pan, "It's gonna be alright." He said as he tried the smelling salts. Pan started to stir.

"Huh? What happened?" She asked.

"You fainted." Trunks replied.

"Fainted? Why?"

"That's what I called the doctor for."

Pan looked at him, and thought. ~~Why does he care so much?~~~

"Trunks?"

"Yeah, Pan."

"Why are you doing this?"

"Doing what?"

"Being so kind, after how I treated you."

"I care for you Pan." Trunks replied as he heard a knock on the door. "Come in."

Marron entered, "The doctor said he'll be here in ten minutes."

"Thank you." Trunks replied as Marron went back to her work. ~~Damn girl, she gets to lie in my Trunks' bed. I hate her!~~ She thought to herself.

****Ten minutes later****

The doctor had arrived and Marron led him up to Pan. "Mr. Briefs, what seems to be the matter?" He asked.

"Dr. Morgan, this is Pan. She said she wasn't feeling good, then she just fainted."

"Fainted… I see Mr. Briefs. If you don't mind leaving me to my patient so I can examine her-"

"Sure, no problem." Trunks went over to Pan. "Pan, this is Dr. Morgan. He's been the family’s physician since before I was born. He actually was the one who delivered me. I trust him with MY life. He won't hurt you." He told her. Pan saw that he was being truthful.

She nodded. "Alright. Thank you, Trunks."

Trunks left the room leaving Dr. Morgan and Pan.

A/N: Leaving it here. Just what is wrong with Pan?
