“I mean he’s brash, arrogant and highly foul mouthed! Woman you better have a very good explanation why I was just made a fool out of by my own son!” Vegeta yelled. Bulma fiddled with the eternity symbol on her neck. She was dressed in a chocolate colored dress with a bodice attached to it. It contrasted against her pale skin.

For the first time he’d gotten back to his mate, he looked at her. Really and truly. She wasn’t the withered woman he’d expect from human aging. She was nubile, yet deathly discolored. Her eyes were an icy blue, chillingly so. Her body was lithe and young looking. Like she hadn’t aged a day past 20. He ran his hand through his bristly locks. She had to be over 50 now.

“Wh…where is my daughter?” The thought suddenly struck her like a ton of bricks. Bulma looked off. “She eloped with the heir to the Poisonclaw family.” “Who the hell….” “They’re a well off bunch, timid really, she was swept away by their son once we came out to the Vampire community.” Vegeta held up his hands in a halting manner.

He stalked around the room, eyes red with fire. Bra was married to a male he’d never met? Never spoken to? Never evaluated?! The lavish bedroom seemed the perfect target as Vegeta began to take out his rage on everything, mirrors, chairs, lights, he wanted this tirade of casual royalty to end and for his family to come back to reality.

“Vegeta..” “Bulma, I have been gone for 18 years. 18 years I have waited to be reunited with my wife and my daughter. To come home and find a stranger, my own son….my flesh, ashamed of my blood.” He eyed his mate with simmering rage. “And my wife I find was a Queen in her own. She was a Queen…and to realize that my only daughter is now married to a man whose face I have never seen? What did I do to deserve this?”

He was truly broken, betrayed by his own mate. “It was not my intention to hurt you….only to save our son!” Bulma rose with fury in her gaze. “What was it that made you lie to me all these years Bulma?! Was it the fact that I once killed and defiled planets?” “No.” “Then what made you keep this from me? Have I kept nothing from you? Did you not break down every wall I placed forth? Tell me!”

“Fine,” Bulma threw open a cabinet and rendered it of its contents, scrolls fell on the floor, faded letters and scribbled notes. “All these! Years of death notes on our family! Son-kun’s family! Every week! Everyday! From the time of Gohan’s birth!” Vegeta shuddered as he read over the notes…stopping and shaking his head in disbelief.

“Do you think it was a coincidence that I and Chichi seemed so at ease with one another? Or that You and I hit it off so well? Vegeta it was because the fates and the will of ours did it! I am not fit to continue to rule from afar in West City! I cannot! I cannot continue to put my family’s life in danger for the sake of a human enterprise!”

Vegeta felt a thump on the floor as Bulma sank to her knees. “ I truly am sorry…” She cried earnestly as her mate wrapped his arms around her. “I did not tell you for sake of loosing you. Forever this time.”

“So what do we do?” Gabe tilted his head towards Caleb who was sitting on a suit of armor in the hall. He’d heard his mother and father. Father, that was a new word. “It’s right ye can’t blame ’im for yer mom’s mishaps. And he did say he was stuck out in space.” Caleb rolled his eyes. He had enough on his plate without having to deal with a new father.

“Alright then, let’s say this, ye can keep ’ating yer father or we can put ’im through the “ORDEAL” and my pop too. Just to see if they’re worthy enough to keep our mums.” Caleb began to hear the unmistakable signs of passion developing inside his parents room and shivered in disgust wrapping his wings around his form and turning into mist.

“One chance and that’s all they get.” The mist spoke before turning off down the hall. “So how long ‘ave you been standin’ there.” Gabrelle spoke in the darkness. Gohan and Goten emerged from the black.
“Long enough to know you’re plotting something.” “Oh, is that it then?” Gohan watched as he circled around his outspoken little brother.

“I’ll ‘ave you know that if dear old dad passes this lil test there won’t be anymore bad blood between us,” One of his wings fluttered and hit Goten in the face as he swooped next to Gohan and placed with his glasses. “However if he fails…”

Fangs poked at Gohan’s throat sending rivuls of blood on his white gi. “I get to devour all of you piece by piece.” The pressure melted from his neck as his youngest sibling turned to water and seeped through the floor.
“Now if only he was on our side that could be useful.” Goten butted in. “Shut up you stupid little twit.”
Gohan rubbed his sore neck finding his way back to his room to tell the others.
