Chapter 11 - Ruthless

I’m alive.

As I come to, I’m stunned to realize that. I’m alive. I returned to my normal size some time after losing consciousness, but for some reason the animal didn’t crush me to death when he had the chance.

I stumble to my feet, falling once, grunting in pain as I land. The loss of an antenna has put me off balance and I need one of those beans can regenerate it. I take inventory, scowling as I realize he continued to abuse me even when I was unconscious. My entire body is bruised or bleeding, pieces of rubble imbedded in my skin. My good arm is gone, and if the wounds around my shoulder are any indication the bastard bit it off.

I glance around, amazed at the devastation. Apparently Radditz continued on his rampage, crushing structures and killing the weaklings. I can feel the ki of a few survivors, but it doesn’t feel like more than a handful. I’m surprised – and relieved – to realize Radditz is nowhere near.

I have to take advantage of his absence. I need the last dragonball – there is no way I can afford to allow him to continue to be stronger than I am. I enjoy being fucked by him, but this went past pleasurable pain to torture; I’m currently weak and nauseous and nearly helpless as a result.

I concentrate enough ki to be able to regenerate my missing limb, but I can’t spare any more; I barely have enough to remain standing. I can’t even fly to where my large stash of senzu is. I need to find the house where we were and recover the few I had with me.

Half an hour later, I am exhausted and faint. I loudly curse the bastard for his callous destruction – there are no landmarks left for me to find the house. I’m about to collapse when I hear the faint sound of a familiar electronic chirp. Curious, I follow the sound, smirking as I locate Radditz’ scouter under the rubble. I hear voices on the other end, and I suspect he is in trouble with his superiors. I chuckle at the curses directed at the animal.

“Radditz! Where in the hell are you? I know you are alive. By the gods, Radditz, I swear I’m going to rip your fucking tail off for this. You have two days left – you might as well make the best of it, because you are never going Oozaru again,” the voice roars.

For a moment I consider answering, but my mood would only antagonize the person I assume is the prince, and I might need him to be agreeable so I can implement my plan. Even better, he has revealed something that could be useful – that monstrous ape form is tied to his tail. I continue to search through the debris for my clothing as I listen to the angry prince arranging rendezvous.

I sigh with relief when I finally locate the senzu, quickly eating one.

The prince growls with annoyance at the lack of response. He finally stops ranting at Radditz’ absence, “Two days. Be ready.” He signs off abruptly.

“Arrogant ass,” I grin to myself as the bean starts to work. These have amazing abilities – even my antenna is regenerated. I’m healed and have two more days to locate the last dragonball and summon the dragon. When Radditz and I meet again, things will be different.

----------

I smirk as the dragon departs, the scattering dragonballs blending in with the stars of the night sky. I had considered destroying it just as my sire did, but the dragonballs won’t be an issue much longer anyway.

The last one had been remarkably easy to obtain – the village that held it was tiny, only requiring a minimum of effort to kill the inhabitants. If time hadn’t been an issue, I would have enjoyed torturing them. As it was, they received quicker deaths than they deserved.

The dragon recognized me of course, scowling as I spoke my wish. It didn’t do Shenlong any good though; he was compelled to give me the power I desired. I am now the strongest being in the entire universe; no one can defeat me. It’s an effort to contain the ki flowing through me, but I don’t want to be disturbed by the bastard monkey yet.

There remains one threat to my existence now, and I intend to resolve that problem for good.

------------------------

“Kami!” I bellow, “Get your bony green ass out here!” I enjoy myself as I wait, blasting down the palm trees that line the Lookout, seeing how many I can get to domino down. On the third try, the entire row goes down with a series of explosive sounds of wood breaking.

Kami still won’t show his face, but that annoying genie does.

“Stop! Mr. Piccolo! Please stop!”

I chuckle. “That’s Lord Piccolo to you, insect.” I ignite a flower bed just to see the distress on the ugly creature’s face. I sneer. “Tell that cowardly prick to get his ass out here this instant or I move on to destroying pansies – starting with you.” I grin. “Hell, why wait?” I blast the genie’s leg away, laughing as he screams in pain and topples to the ground.

“Piccolo!”

I turn and smirk. I knew that would draw the two-faced bastard out. “I figured hurting your boyfriend would get your attention. So tell me, which one of you two freaks is the bitch?”

“We’re not-,” Kami begins before snapping his mouth closed and glaring. “What do you want, Piccolo? Why are you here?”

“Why do you think, old man?” I stalk closer, sneering at him as he hobbles back with his cane. “Your continued existence is a problem. I intend to rectify it.”

He makes one of his serious smiles – I swear he stands in front of the mirror to practice it, because it isn’t normal. “You are planning on dying, then?”

I laugh and blast the whimpering genie again because his howls have decreased. There’s another agonized shriek and Kami gets a horrified expression on his face. I raise an eye ridge and glance over at Popo, curious what I hit this time. “Oh look,” I chuckle, “I shot his little prick off. Guess it’s going to be his turn to get fucked now.”

Kami roars and uselessly swings his cane at me.

“Is that the best you can do old man? And you call yourself a god. Pitiful.” I throw a punch in his direction, deliberately missing, smirking when just the force of the ki sends the fool flying backwards, slamming into another row of trees. I can only laugh when the impact sends the entire line toppling down.

I shake my head as he climbs painfully to his feet. “Give it up old man. Your time is over. The demon reign now begins.”

“No,” he snaps, taking a stance, foolishly preparing to attack me, “I will not allow your evil to rule the world.”

“The world? Old man, you think too small. I will rule the universe.” As expected, the old fool lunges at me, throwing a flurry of punches. At my newly increased power they mean nothing to me. I let him continue, not even bothering to strike back, enjoying the look of frustration and then of horror as he realizes what I have become.

“What are you doing, Piccolo?” he finally pants, exhausted.

I smirk before vanishing, reappearing behind him, clamping an arm tightly around his neck. He struggles to escape, but I imprison him with ki rings around his arms and waist. “Fulfilling my destiny, you fool,” I hiss in his ear. “You were too much of a coward and weakling to take the control we deserve – I’m not.”

“Kami,” Popo whimpers weakly.

I turn us both so we are facing the damaged genie. I admire my handiwork – the blood pumping from his wounds to pool around him and the expression of agony – and sneer at how helpless he is. I can feel Kami’s entire body tense as he finally pays attention to the extent of the freak’s injuries. “What shall we do about him, Kami?” I purr dangerously. “He’s suffering, isn’t he…? All that blood… So kind. So loyal. Do you think he wants to live under demon reign?”

“No,” Kami whispers. “Please, Piccolo, let him go. Show him mercy. Popo’s done nothing to you.”

“Since you ask so nicely…” I fire a beam of ki directly between his eyes and the genie collapses, dead.

“Popo!” Kami shouts in horror. “Piccolo, why?”

“That was mercy, old man.” I sneer, “You wouldn’t want him to see you return to evil, would you?” I press my open hand against his chest, letting him feel my ki sparking into him. His entire body trembles as the power arcs through him.

“You thought you could get rid of me, didn’t you?” I hiss, “Thought hiding your evil would eliminate it. It doesn’t work that way… No matter how much you try to deny it, I’m always a part of you. Part of you thrilled at the way his body lurched as the beam hit him.”

“No,” he whispers, still struggling to escape.

I scowl and tighten my hold around his neck; I despise this bastard and everything he represents. He took my sire’s life from him, his treachery sentencing him to untold years of imprisonment. He displayed no loyalty to blood, helping my sire’s killer, training Son Goku to defeat me. If I hadn’t needed him for the dragonballs I would have eliminated him years ago. But now that my wish has been fulfilled, there is nothing stopping me from retrieving the power and knowledge he tried so desperately to keep from me.

“The old guardian knew, didn’t he? Recognized you for what you are – a power-hungry killer who would stop at nothing for control. Popo knew as well and stayed behind to keep an eye on you; he wasn’t your friend, he was your guard.”

“That’s not true,” he protests weakly.

“But it is, Kami. I have my sire’s memories. I remember how you tried to destroy what we are. My sire remembered and hated you for it. Part of you has always wanted to crush these weaklings beneath us. You let the fools think you were some kind of benevolent protector, but I know better. These insects you’ve been pretending to protect belong to me now; they are mine to crush and destroy. You’ve outlived your usefulness, guardian. All you are good for now is serving as a source of energy in my conquest of the universe.”

“Kill me then,” he whispers, no longer trying to get free.

I chuckle. “You aren’t going to be that fortunate, old man – I have something better in mind.” I start pulling on his ki, drawing his life out of his body, letting it flow into mine. Kami tried to hide this technique from my sire, keeping it for himself when he split, but he failed – and I remember. “I’m going to absorb you – fuse with you. Your existence will not be a threat to me any longer.”

The old man screams.
