Disclaimer: I don't own DBZ but I will own every song in this fic.

Author's Notes: Alright people, in this story you're going to be doing a double critique of the fic and the songs. At the beginning of every chapter with songs in it, I'm going to…hopefully, explain the style and mood of the music. Let your imagination take over from there. In this chapter there is only one song, a little melancholy sang softly and almost breathlessly near the end. It has a lot of meaning for me...please tell me what you think of the song. And no, I'm not bashing anybody, trust me when I say that I didn't realize that I sounded like I was bashing until I got ready to load the story.

Chapter one: Frustrated…

Perfectly manicured nails, painted a beautiful pearly white, tapped impatiently on the rough wired surface of a mic. Another hand, with the same perfect manicure, smoothed silken strands of aqua hair back from wide cerulean eyes framed by thick eyelashes. Pouting pink lips twisted slightly in a snarl of impatience as the blue-haired beauty waited for her producer to finish talking with the sound coordinator. "Goku, what's taking so long, I need to record my song."

Coal black eyes lifted upwards, sparkling with unfathomable intelligence that was hidden behind a naïve exterior, as Son Goku looked away from the man he was talking with and met his prized singer's gaze. "Have a little patience Bulma, I am trying to figure out why he can't get the sound board to work."

Snorting prettily, she moved away from the mic and grabbed her bottle of water off of her stool. "Whatever, I'm in a hurry here."

"I know that but if we can't get the sound board to work, your singing will sound like crap."

"Not like her singing ever does sound good."

Glancing at the man sitting in front of the sound board, he grinned then patted him on the back. "Will we be ready for the real singer?"

"Yeah, in half an hour, just tell Bulma that the board is working and let her sing."

"Alright."

Pacing back and forth in the hall, she glanced at one of her crew members curiously before sitting next to the girl with a tired sigh. "How come they always screw everything up when I'm recording my songs but when the songs come out, they're unbelievable?"

"Don't know." Looking down at her hands shyly, Kathi kept from looking at the face that everyone loved and thought was the real singer. "Maybe you're talented?"

"Well, I know I'm talented."

"Of course."

"Can you sing?"

"A little."

"Let me hear…I won't be harsh."

"Ok…"

Storming out into the hall, he glared at Bulma then softened his glare when he saw who she was talking to. "We're ready to record now."

"Good, it's about time." Getting to her feet, she brushed off any dirt from her leather pants then followed him into the recording room.

What am I to do?

You know I can't speak

When you're around…

So baby, were you through?

Cause you found someone new.

Memories overwhelm me of your love.

Midnight Loving,

Darker than the light of your smile.

Deep kisses,

That steal my breath away.

Ohh…where were you,

When I needed you the most?

At her house,

You no good ghost?

You disappeared out of my life…

I tried to forget you,

And I failed…

Midnight Loving,

Hotter than any fire.

Leaving me smoldering…

Gasping with desire.

You gave me pleasure…

Things that brought me to my knees.

So here I am now,

Singing your sins to the world.

Still wishing that I,

That I was your girl.

Midnight Promises,

Saying you'd always be true…

But now,

Now I know better,

Cause I've been with you.

And now…

Now I know better…

Than to fall in love…

With You…

Stepping back away from the mic, she smiled shyly at the manager and sound guy before turning away and leaving the room. She was still uncomfortable singing in front of more than two people…thank god for Bulma and her need to be the center of attention.
