Aerdin sighed softly to himself, his head bowed and rain soaking the shoulders of his jumper. He shivered and hugged his knees to his chest with a sigh.
He was bored sick of being 'the baby' of the family. The youngest triplet, the one who needed looking after and who the others needed to watch out for and protect.
He was sick of it.
He pushed himself to his knees and turned his attention back to the temple.
Indira would be picking up girls in the park with his friends and Artemis would be getting wasted in a bar somewhere. His parents were all probably 'out' on business. Raditz and Nappa would probably be training in a field or desert nearby and that meant that he had the temple to himself. He might as well go inside it.
He ran up the marble steps, arms over his head to protect it from the hail that had begun to fall. He pushed open the pearly white doors and stepped inside into the warm comfort of the hall.
A loud clatter informed him that the servants were still working downstairs, so pulling off his mud splattered boots and soaking polo neck jumper, Aerdin raced up the stairs and into the room he shared with his older brother. Slamming the door behind him he flopped down onto his bed.
Clutching his pillow in his still damp hands he buried his face in the soft duvet. cover and let his mind wonder.
He wondered vaguely why the other two triplets always thought of him as the little one. There were only 10 minutes tops between Indira and himself and yet in that short time the other to had 'apparently' managed to become so much more smarter and stronger than himself.
He gave a small snort of laughter at that thought. Smarter, right, in their dreams. Artemis hadn't been to school in 5 years and Indira hadn't done his own school or homework for as long as Aerdin could remember.
Indira's ki was stronger than his, but it was stronger than Artemis' too and neither of them were even half as good as him at using magic. So that ruled the whole strength thing out.
He vaguely wondered wether they thought that he wasn't as brave as them. Standing up he pulled his top over his head and looked adoringly as the tattoos that marked his shoulders, elbows and fore arms. Eight of them in total. He had seven more than Artemis and Indira had stubbornly refused to let the needle even so much as touch him. He'd got his when he was younger than Art chan was when she got hers. Sighing he stuck out his tongue and found the five little hole that indicated the piercing that he wore sometimes. Nine more identical holes lined the bottoms of each of his wings. Aerdin shuddered slightly in reminiscence, that had hurt like hell to get those done. He wore a silver stud in his left ear all the time. It was the only one his parents knew about. He was the one who had been brave enough to get all of these. He was the one who had been brave enough to learn the illegal spells that had gotten the three of them out of trouble time and time again. It had been him, he was always the brave one, always the one to come to Indira and Artemis' rescue. Him!
Aerdin pulled his top back on and picked up his electric guitar from beside his bed, it was beautifully polished as usual, he plugged it in and strummed his fingers across the strings playing each note in turn. Off the tom of his head he made up a quick and impressive tune. Putting words with it he instantly made it into a rock song, equally as good as any that his sister had choreographed in her life time. Yes, he had just as much musical talent as them.
"So what???" He exclaimed desperately, yanking out the plug, leading to his guitar, out of the socket with his foot and placing the instrument on the bed. "What! What! WHAT!!!" He cried out angrily "Is it because I don't smoke and booze and drive? Is it because I don't stay out all night with a bunch of annoying little kids I call friends, starting fights and flirting with everything on two legs?" He scowled and grimaced at the thought. It was no big secret that Aerdin tended not to get on too well with people outside of his own family.
"See you tomorrow Art chan!" Aerdin heard a roar of engines, as six black motorbikes pull onto the drive.
"See ya later man!"
"Yah bye guys!"He heard Indira's familiar voice ring out over the others
"Bye Art, Bye Indi!"
"Catch you later babes!" And Artemis' voice.
"Say hey to your little bro for us, alright. Really I don't see why he doesn't come and hang out with us from time to time."
"Yeah it'd make him seem a lot older!"
"Yeah well, that's just Aer kun for ya. Bye guys!"
Aerdin flopped back onto his bed with a satisfied smirk. "Yep, I'm betting that last reason was probably correct." he mused to himself with a sigh.
There was a gentle click and Indira opened the door, dressed in his normal black leather jeans and sleeveless black polo neck which he wore for going out in. He smelt awfully of vodka and cigarette smoke he normally came back like this. Aerdin wondered why as he knew that his brother was neither an alcoholic nor a serious smoker and was fully aware of the damage it did to his body.
He watched as his brother put his keys on the side and pulled his polo neck over his head, dumping it in a heap on the floor, before turning to look at him.
He laughed inwardly as his brother raised one creamy white eyebrow in question.
"Aer, do you have any idea what you look like?"
"None at all. Go on then, enlighten me. What do I look like?"
" Okay... you're sprawled seductively on your bed in nothing but skin tight black pants, wearing a dangerous little smile, which I swear that you must of got from one of Art's books because I've never seen you smile like that before,"
Aerdin gave a small laugh.
"You're glistening with rain water which is practically clinging to you in all your muscled glory, you're arms are host to one of the most impressive collections of tattoos i've ever seen and your chest to an almost artistic criss cross of battle scars. And suddenly I hope that you weren't waiting for me to get home. Overall, if I was gay and wasn't your brother then I'd say you look pretty damn sexy mate."
Aerdin laughed again and sat up.
"How was your evening?" He asked curiously.
"The normal. I drank, I smoked, I flirted with a large variety of girls, I showed off to my friends on my motorbike annnd then I came home." The fourteen year old answered with a grin, flopping down onto his own bed. "Oh and by the way Myrhh said to ask you why you don't come and hang out with us, he said that it'll make you seem a lot more grow up."
"What! No way! No offense, but I don't want to seem more grown up if it means living a life like yours."
"Whatever. Goodnight!"
"Goodnight big brother."
