Dragon Ball/Z/GT Fan Fiction ❯ Lost Dreams ❯ Chapter 2
Jessica bounded down the halls of Capsule Corp., trying desperately to run as fast as she could without falling flat on her face in her black heels. She skidded to halt when she almost ran smack into her Aunt. She gave her the best apologetic look she could muster without laughing, thanks to Trunks, who was making faces behind her back.
"Trunks Vegeta Briefs! I know what you're doing young man!" Bulma scolded without even having to look behind her. Trunks twitched and stopped, shooting a look towards his mom. Jessica laughed at her cousin's antics, before stopping upon receiving a glare from Bulma. "Do I have children running this company?!" She exclaimed; sounding annoyed with how they were acting.
"Well, can't blame us, you're the one that hired us," Trunks answered her, digging through a stack of papers looking for something in particular. Bulma threw her hands up in defeat and walked off to her office.
Jessica walked over to Trunks and looked over his shoulder. "So what's on the agenda for us today?" She had a feeling today was going to be one hell of a day, knowing her luck.
"The usual. Angry business men, annoyed CEO's, and lots and lots of paperwork," Trunks snorted, pulling out a file from the stack of papers he had been shifting through.
"Ooo, lots of fun." She brushed a piece of her dusty brown hair out of her face before walking to her office. She tossed her briefcase onto her desk, causing it to knock over the sign, which read "Ms. Jessica Briefs - VP".
"Hey Jess, what's the status on that deal with Signify Inc.?" Trunks called from the main hall, looking through the file he had just pulled out.
"I think I'm supposed to have lunch with the President today. If I'm not mistaken," She answered him while noticing the "to-do" list for the day `nicely' given to her by Bulma. She snorted at it, wishing she could take a vacation instead of deal with all this crap. Readjusting her skirt to better hide her tail, she walked back out to Trunks. "We're supposed to discuss the agreements over the merging of the companies," She snorted at that thought. "I doubt any discussing will get done. That guy has a hard time of keeping his hands to himself. I swear if he touches me again I'll rip his arm off." She smirked a bit idea, finding it very appealing.
"Oh yeah, that'll be just what we need to close the deal," Trunks shook his head, but that didn't stop her from seeing the smirk that pulled at his lips. It was something they both got from the Saiyajin side of the family.
"It would, wouldn't it? It could be our new way into scaring other businesses into signing agreements with us," She laughed, imagining a room full of scared CEOs begging to sign the contracts in order to save their lives.
"Or it could just cause us to loose our business very fast," He retorted, shaking his head, causing his purple hair to shift and fall in his face.
"I think it's time for a hair cut for you," Jessica muttered noticing how long his hair was getting lately. It was getting close to reaching his shoulders, but he usually kept it up in a ponytail.
"Don't you have a lunch appointment to go to?" Trunks asked irritably. Looking up at the clock Jessica let out a groan, noticing the time. It was already nearing 11 o' clock.
"I got an hour. I guess I better get my stuff together, though." She walked into her office and rummaged through her briefcase, exchanging papers and folders until she was content with the material she had chosen. Glancing at the clock on her desk, she noticed that she still about 45 more minutes left before she was due at the lunch appointment. She picked her briefcase up off of her desk and proceeded to walk out of her office. Trunks gave her a questioning look and she just shrugged. "No use in being late right?" She said over her shoulder as she promptly walked down the hall towards the elevator so she could leave.
