Chapter Nine

The Goddess of Vegeta - Sei

Days had past since the No Ouji had encountered his father's ship and the spacecraft was only hours away from landing on Vegeta-sei. Preparations had been made for the Prince' s arrival including a welcoming ceremony for the crew and royalty. Funeral preparations had also been scheduled, for the King himself.

Bulma and Vegeta had seen less of each other of the past couple of days, each preferring to their own habits. Bulma had a trip investigating the machinery and technology with Kakorotto personally leading the tours. The spiky haired warrior had constantly talked about his wife, a woman named Chi Chi, which name was not traditional for a Saiya-jin. Fiery in spirit, he had told her, his wife was determined to raise their only child to not fight and instead study.

"Education is not important for us Saiya-jins." Spoke Kakorotto as they were touring the deck. "Yet Chi Chi wants to teach him how to use his brains than brawns."

"That's so great though," Commented Bulma, smiling. "On Chikyu-Sei, education is the key to a good life."

Terracing the ship's corridors, they had covered much of it within a day or two. Bulma couldn't wait to talk to the Saiya-jin scientists on Vegeta-Sei; about all the equipment, the restoration chambers, and even the scouters.

"Do you miss your home world?" He asked, rubbing his head, "I couldn't stand being away from Vegeta-Sei too long I'd go crazy!"

"Not much, except for my family and the sparse friends I had." She replied, studying one of the panels near a hatch. "Yet my father tried to contain Vegeta and that's what led me out here."

"Contain the Prince?" Laughed Kakorotto, rubbing his stomach. "That's nearly impossible! The royal family is renown for their strength and I wouldn't dare challenge them." Looking at his watch, he grinned, "Wow, its nearly time for lunch. I'm famished!"

Where is Vegeta these days? Mused Bulma, sighing. He knows so much yet speaks so little of it

Holed up in his quarters, Vegeta no Ouji sighed to himself. For the last few days he'd done nothing but live and train within the confines of his residence, trying to work out the intense desires he had been feeling. Yes, indeed I can't wait to get out of this rut.

Vegeta was somewhat frightened of his predicaments, trying to hide himself from any female, and hoping for the better. He had been considering for the last few days what to do about the whole coronation deal. I don't want a mate, his mind exclaimed; I want to stay a prince for forever!

Then there was the crisis with Freeza. One of his father's top aides had sent out that message about the kingdom in crisis weeks ago and what had become of it? Could it be possible that Vegeta-Sei was conquered?

I think too much He groaned mentally, rubbing his head he knew what must be done. I will one day destroy Freeza and vanquish my kingdom!

There was a knock at the door. Turning, as the door opened, Kakorotto walked in, saluting. "My Lord," he began, clearing his throat, "We will be landing shortly, and shall I send in the servants to prepare you?"

"Yes, Kakorotto," Turning, the No Ouji growled. "I've heard about you and the Chikyu- girl."

"Pardon me asking, sire, but what do you mean?" The older Saiya-jin's face frowned slightly, rubbing his spiky hair. "Its not like we're mates or anything! She's way too young for me!"

"Not that, fool. I'm talking about her interest in our technology!" Sarcastically chimed Vegeta, rolling his eyes, "Seriously, I believe you've been hanging out with her too much - too long."

"But-"

"Shut up!" Swiveling in his chair, Vegeta growled softly to him self, turning back, he asked curiously, "What do you think of her?"

"Um…"
"Seriously! I'm trying to be serious here Kakorotto!"

"She's definitely intelligent, far more than I've seen in females." Kakorotto slowly murmured, "She's very pretty…"

"Thank you, that's enough."

She could see the red planet so close that Bulma felt she could reach out and touch it. Never had she reentered an atmosphere before, much less than an alien one. I wonder what its like, she pondered, pressing her face into the glass, being on a planet that no Chikyu-jin has ever discovered

"Its so wonderful to be home, Miss Bulma." Commented Manu from behind her,

"You'll like Vegeta-Sei, especially the Palace, where I'd heard you be residing in. Rumors of course."

"Is there gardens?" Bulma asked, removing herself from the glass. "I miss the gardens at home."

"Yes, there are miles of them, including a very impressive rose garden." Laying a hand on the young Chikyu-jin, Manu smiled. "Let's get you ready."

"Dresses?"

"Indeed." The Saiya-jin replied, "Vegeta - sama wants you prettied up, including this." Guiding Bulma over towards the dresser, She pulled the top drawer open. Reaching in, she removed the notable diamond - studded Tiara,

"Wow…" Gasped bulma, surprised, "Wasn't this his mother's?" After handed the fragile jewelry, she slowly fingered it, finally adjusting it upon her head. "I'll need a dress that can match this, you know? Something spectacular!"

"I got the one." Pulling open another drawer, Manu produced a stunning azure gown, made of the finest silks. It was embroidered with silver, markings so delicate that it looked like one ultimate design.

Reaching for it, Bulma gasped in delight. "Ohh! I like this one!"

"It suits you perfectly, Miss Bulma." The Saiya-jin smiled. "It really goes well with your hair and eyes."

"Thank you!" cried Bulma, rushing to the bathroom, "I'm putting it on!"

Moments later, she emerged, smiling. The dress fit her right and was actually quite stunning upon her. Walking out, she didn't trip or drag the dress, except the fabric train behind her. Dressed like a princess, she glowed, beaming at her guardian. "What do you think?"

"Stunning, Miss Bulma." Clearing her throat, Manu smirked. "You'll be perfect for him."

"What?" Bulma slowed her smile down, "What did you say?"

"Er, nothing," The Saiya-jin remarked, blushing slightly. "You know, a Freudian slip, or something like that."

"Oh." Turning to the mirror, bulma stared at herself. Did she say what I thought she said? Shivering, she flashed her perfect teeth; well my beauty better shock him

Finally after what seemed like forever, the ship began to land. Thrusters fired, wind brakes adjusted themselves, and the land grew ever so closer. Looking out the window, Bulma was plastered to it practically, envisioning what Vegeta-Sei must be like.

"Come, Miss Bulma," cooed Manu, touching her shoulder. "Its time to head to the dockingbay. We'll be on the ground in any minute."

"Okay." Beamed Bulma, turning, the fabric train flowing behind her, "I'm curious to see what your planet is like."

Waiting in the docking bay, Vegeta tapped his foot, hoping for the best, yet expecting the worst. I can sense him Growling, he stamped his foot. Freeza, how I've imagined this moment...

Standing next to the Prince, Kakkorotto smiled. "I can't wait to see my mate, Vegeta - sama."

"That's an `if', Kakkorotto." Snarled Vegeta, "Can't you sense it all?"

Looking around curiously, the older Saiya-jin eyes narrowed. "Something isn't right, sire."

"Indeed Kakorotto. If it wasn't for you strength, much less the intellect, I would have had you put away years ago." Smirking, Vegeta looked up to see the elite's reaction. "Well?'

"I-I cannot sense the usual energy, Vegeta - sama " He replied shakily, even trembling at the notion. "What is going on?"

"We will see," Vegeta retorted, crossing his arms, "We will see…"

Walking into the docking bay, Bulma could sense the tenseness in the air as she made her way past Saiya-jin guards and Elites. Like a parting wave, the warriors stared at her, amused. As they parted, she could see Vegeta, the prince of the Saiya-jin race - the boy who had gotten her so far from home.

Walking up to him, she smiled, curtsying towards him, hoping to get some laughter from the 13 year old.

Turning, Vegeta no Ouji had a hard time keeping his composure as he saw her, almost as if she was a Goddess herself. Divine, her sapphire eyes and hair matched with her dress and as his eyes walked down her curves, Vegeta was aghast at her beauty.

Clapping his hands together firmly, Kakorotto walked over and offered an arm, smiling in his stupid way, as Vegeta had once put it. "May I?" He asked, nodding towards the girl.

"Why thank you Kakorotto! Finally a gentleman who dared to ask." Eyeing Vegeta, she could tell that the comment had impacted him, as his eyes could reflect the jealousy within. Smirking, Bulma nodded towards the elder Saiya-jin and moved alongside him.

A guard approached, as there was a gentle `thud' as the ship landed. "Vegeta - sama! We have landed!" Bowing he ran off.

Here we go. Vegeta mused, glancing towards Bulma. Ready or not
