Dragon Ball/Z/GT Fan Fiction ❯ Love Conquers All ❯ A Strange Noise ( Chapter 1 )
Love Conquers All
OK, this story is sort of an A/U fic. Bulma's a princess from a planet called Andromeda, a planet whose people can call upon the spirits of the other planets for help. She had met Vegeta once before, during Andromeda's visit to Vejitasei. Naturally, they hated each other. Andromeda was the most powerful planet in the universe until Frieza destroyed it, three years after he destroyed Vejitasei. Only Bulma and her cousin Mihaeda survived, since they were on Earth at the time. The reason why Bulma was so scared of Zarbon back on Namek was because of what happened to her home planet.
Marita and Regirta are two Saiyans that I made up. They're twins, Goku's half-sisters (same Dad, diff. moms), and comrades to Vegeta. Marita is Bulma's B.F. (best friend). The unusual thing is that they are 1/8 Andromedan, thanks to their Mother. They are also a little too loyal for their own good. Dayis, another Saiyan I made up, is Vegeta's closest comrade. He & Marita appear to hate each other with a passion. Dayis' father is Zoorn, the guy who told King Vegeta to hand his son over to Frieza the bastard.
This is the story of Bulma & Vegeta, and Dayis & Marita, and how the realization of Bulma and Marita's true identity rekindles a lust from within Vegeta & Dayis: a lust that transforms into a love so powerful it could bring the universe to its knees. But before I can tell you the tale…it's DISCLAIMER TIME!!!!! (Don't you just HATE these? Well, you're gonna hate me now; it's a long one.)
Disclaimer: Dragon Ball Z doesn't belong to me. It belongs to Akira Toriyama. The English version belongs to FUNimation. (Duh, any idiot can see that since the American Vegeta doesn't swear like the Japanese one.) So could you please not sue me. I'm just a high school student who wants to work on her writing skills using her favorite TV show.
I do lay claim to Mihaeda, Regirta, Marita, Dayis, and ASHLEIGH. (That's right! I appear in this! Being a part of DBZ is a dream of mine, so this is the next best thing. Besides, how else do you think a pair like Marita and Dayis manage to find love with one another? I'm an expert matchmaker.) Please don't use them unless I say you can, all right? So, without further ado, (and ranting & raving) may I present to you Love Conquers All!!!!! *Audience screaming and clapping*
Thanks catgirl26 for beta-ing this for me!!!!!
Chapter 1
Bulma was standing on her balcony, watching the stars, tears streaming down her face. Yamcha had cheated on her yet again. But this time would be the last. She'd learned her lesson. She'd never trust herself to love anyone ever again.
"Why didn't I see it coming?" she sobbed. "I should have known that Yamcha would cheat again. But I was too afraid of being alone to see it. Unmei sure seems to like making my life miserable. And she's doing a great job, too." Bulma put her face in her hand and began crying bitterly once again.
Vegeta was fly through the sky at a tremendous speed on his way back from a sparring match with Goku, or as he would call him, Kakarot. As Capsule Corp. came into view, he powered down a bit, knowing if he woke up Bulma he'd get another migraine from her incessant yelling. Why does that woman have to be so loud? He wondered. You'd think she'd keep quiet now that Kakarot is back. And what's worse, it seems as though she's picked me as the target for all her temper tantrums.
The sound of someone crying reached his ears. Now who would be up at this time of night? He wondered. Deciding to check it out, he followed the sound, only to find Bulma sitting on her balcony railing, crying her heart out.
HER AGAIN?! What's she doing up so late? She's usually the first one in bed. If she wasn't out on a date that is. I'll bet she's crying because she got cheated on by that weakling human Yamcha again. Humph! His curiosity got the better of him though, as he silently landed behind Bulma.
Apparently being quiet wasn't enough, for as soon as he landed, Bulma's head snapped up and she turned around, her eyes shooting daggers at him. She hadn't heard him land, but her acute sixth sense detected his presence and she knew better than to disbelieve it.
"Go away, Vegeta; I'm not in the mood," she yelled.
"Got dumped again, huh? Not surprising, considering who it was you were dating," Vegeta answered with a smirk.
"Yeah? Well at least HE'S not an arrogant royal pain-in-the-ass, unlike a certain Saiyan prince we all know," she shot back.
"HOW DARE YOU!" he shouted. He grabbed her neck and held her by the throat. To his surprise, Bulma just grabbed his arm and looked into his eyes, without fear. She just held his arm, trying to pull it of her neck.
She's got guts; I'll give her that, he mused. Aw heck, I might as well let her go. She can't possibly do anything to hurt me; she's too weak, he thought as he let go of her throat and left, landing silently on the balcony that adjoined his room.
What he didn't want to admit was that for some reason, he just couldn't bring himself to kill her, no matter how much she annoyed him. He knew this was a symptom of the emotion the humans called love. Me. In love. With HER?! Yeah, right. But even as he thought this, he knew it was true. The question was how to handle it.
Bulma stared in shock as Vegeta went into his room. He could have easily killed her right then, but he didn't. Which was weird. What was going on? Her thoughts the drift to when she held his arm. His skin felt soft and smooth compared to the rock-hard muscles underneath. It felt the same way when she had dragged him to the infirmary when he'd been caught in the gravity room explosion. She blushed furiously just thinking about it. A sudden warmth started growing. But why? This had never happened with Yamcha and how many times had they made love? Too many to count, she mused. Then a thought struck her: Could she be in love with Vegeta?
The Next Day
Bulma was making breakfast when her Saiyan friend Marita stormed in and plopped down in a chair, letting out an annoyed groan. It didn't take a rocket scientist to figure out that Dayis had gotten on her nerves yet again.
Dayis and Marita had been going at each other's throats since they could remember. They had lived on Vejitasei and in the 20 years since its destruction by Frieza, their relationship hadn't gotten any better.
"What happened this time, Marita?" Bulma asked. Marita turned to face her best friend.
"Take a guess." Was the Saiyan's terse reply. "Dayis was his usual enigmatically annoying self. I mean, all I did was ask him why he called me a baka yaro again. Something told me he didn't mean it that time. His response: 'Did you really believe me when I called you that?' That totally pissed me off; He just wouldn't give me a straight answer. So I came inside before I had the chance to lose control."
"I see…" Bulma said slowly, and started giggling.
"What's so funny, huh?" Marita asked, puzzled at her friend's behavior.
"Well, I just can't help thinking that he has a crush on you."
"Excuzes-moi? I don't know about that but I do know this. Vegeta likes you. In fact, I'm sure he's bonded to you."
"SAY WHAT?!?!?!?!?!"
Marita came over and proceeded to tell Bulma about all the signs she'd noticed. "I started noticing the signs back on Namek, when he threatened to kill you. If you looked into his eyes carefully, you could see he didn't mean it. Also…"
Meanwhile, in the rebuilt gravity room, Vegeta was desperately trying to block visions of Bulma from his mind. To him, it seemed that every time he stopped training, Bulma would invade his thought and torment him with the beauty she possessed, teasing him, saying he could never have her.LEAVE ME ALONE!!! He shouted mentally, but she wouldn't.Augh get out of my mind, woman! I NEED to train!
In Marita's gravity chamber, Dayis was having the same problem with Marita. Every time he started meditating, Marita would enter his thoughts, her face flushed with anger, making her seem like a goddess. Why can't I get her out of my mind?
Suddenly his stomach growled, telling him it was mealtime. He shut off the simulator and came out at the same time Vegeta came out of his. Together, they walked off in the direction of the kitchen, hoping that Bulma wasn't still asleep, considering how long it takes for her to 'get ready'. Besides, just about everyone knows you can't train on an empty stomach.
"I knew they couldn't got for another couple hours without food," came Marita's voice. "You owe me $20, Bulma. Oh and uh, don't worry. I won't forget."
"Keep your tail wrapped, girl. I'll pay you later," Bulma replied with a giggle.
"Oh, alright."
"I beg your pardon?" came the indignant, ever-define voice of Regirta, Marita's twin sister. "How dare you insult Vegeta in such a way. Especially you, Marita; you know better."
"Weeah. Cry Me A River," Marita said.
"Just did," answered Regirta.
"Then Build Me A Bridge, And GET OVER IT!!!!!" Marita shouted.
Bulma started laughing. She laughed so hard she dropped her glass of apple juice.
Vegeta and Dayis picked that moment to come strolling into the kitchen.
"Oh, great. Hey look Bulma it's the Terrible Two," Marita said dryly when she saw them.
"Great. Why don't you two sit down; breakfast is almost ready."
"Humph," came the voice of the ever-arrogant Prince Vegeta. Dayis just flopped down in the chair beside Marita.
Suddenly, an explosion was heard from outside.
"WHAT WAS THAT?!" Regirta cried.
"No clue," Marita replied. "Go check it out."
OK, so what was that explosion? What's going on between out two feature couples? WHY DOESN'T MARITA WANT TO FIND OUT WHAT THE EXPLOSION WAS?!?!?!?!?! To find out. Read Ch. 2!!!!! Oh, and you have anything to say, please e-mail me and let me know.
