Prologue: The Beginning
.
"The three hardest tasks in the world are neither physical feats nor intellectual achievements, but moral acts: to return love for hate, to include the excluded, and to say, "I was wrong"

Once Goku had told his tale about how he survived the explosion on Namek, and his new technique, Goku and Piccolo had just told everybody about androids coming in 3 years, and while some were taking it lightly, some others were quite worried. Krillin, Tien, and Bulma were mostly in the worried ones, but each of them for very different reasons.

Obviously, Bulma was really worried, since she didn't have any fighting skills, and from the way they described things, Frieza was nothing compared to these androids, yet it had taken everything to defeat the Lord. Krillin and Tien were mostly worried, because if super-saiyans couldn't take care of these androids, then what chance did little humans stand?

Yamcha wasn't as worried as the others, but it was mostly because he hadn't taken in the gravity of the situation, and when he would, he might even decide not to fight, he was not sure yet.

"This one could get a little bit rough. So you'll have to decide if you're in or you're out. When the time comes, you won't be able to hide behind those sunglasses," said Piccolo, his voice very serious, as he was obviously addressing Krillin.

This was no joking matter, since this decision could mean if they live or die; the more people they could gather, the higher their chances of survival would be.

"Yeah, that's for sure," said Yamcha, somewhat missing the seriousness of the whole thing.

Perhaps he hadn't begun to realize that in a flash, these machines would take away his life, and never have an ounce of regret.

Unlike him, Krillin was feeling somewhat worried about it, because he actually knew his own limit, and he could still remember his death by the hands of Frieza; he didn't stand a chance against the robots. He couldn't leave his friends to fight without him, but then again, if he was killed again, he could not be brought back, thus, he had to carefully ponder on the matter.

He giggled nervously, causing Master Roshi's glasses to move slightly out of position, his nervousness clearly getting the best out of him. After all, if he chose not to fight, Krillin would feel like he was letting his friends down, yet they had always been there to back him up, especially Goku.

One person didn't have a doubt of worry in their mind, instead, it was replaced by anger. Vegeta didn't like to be told what to do, especially by that idiotic green Namek; he was the prince of all saiyans and, no one told him what to do.

"Now, hold on, I don't remember putting you in charge of this operation."

If anyone should lead this so called operation, it should at least be someone who was born for fighting not some green alien. Vegeta had been on Namek, and fighting did not run in their blood, like it did in his. On top of that, he was from royal blood, more than qualifying him to crush anything on his path in seconds.

Piccolo had never liked Vegeta, or his attitude, and it would not change now; it seemed the Prince of All Saiyans knew just how to tick him off, and create a fury.

"Are you challenging me Vegeta?" yelled Piccolo, losing his temper. Proud to obtain the reaction he had been looking for, Vegeta smirked.

Goku sensed the tension in the air, and giggled nervously, trying to calm everybody down, as he would usually do.

"Whoa, now," said Goku as he went between Piccolo and Vegeta, trying to create some space between the two.

This wasn't good, if Piccolo and Vegeta started to fight, then things would be horrible because these two wouldn't stop until one of them was dead.

Vegeta had actually wanted Piccolo to challenge him, so he could fight, and defeat the Namek, and prove to him who was the strongest. It was obvious Piccolo held a grudge against him, since Vegeta had destroyed his people, or at least some of them, but unless he was powerful enough to defeat him, he should keep his thin green lips shut.

Vegeta would not stand for anyone to get in his way, not even Kakarot. He might have turned supersaiyan, but in time, Vegeta would prove to him also, who was the strongest, and the true saiyan descendant, even if it mattered very little to all these weaklings.

"Don't cross me Vegeta," said Piccolo totally ignoring Goku's attempts at bringing peace.

It was about time someone gave Vegeta the lesson he deserved, and Piccolo would be more than glad to be the one to do the honors. He had not failed to notice how much the others were trying to include him in their group, but Piccolo was perhaps the only one who had not forgotten what kind of monster he was.

It was obvious Vegeta was not scared one bit by the Namek, and was more than curious to find the rest of the threat.

"Or what?" he asked, challenging him to finish.

If it was a fight he was looking for, he would give it to him right here, in front of all the weaklings, because he knew Piccolo did not stand a chance. He hadn't on Namek, and he still didn't now. Although, Vegeta had to admit, he appreciated his honesty; it was clear none of them enjoyed his presence in the group, yet Piccolo was the only one bold enough to admit it.

Bulma, who had remained in her own corner, watching everyone bicker at each other, was getting slightly annoyed, especially since the main goal of this discussion was lost. She taped her foot, showing her impatience concerning; it was obvious Goku was unable to stop the two from fighting, which wasn't surprising since Vegeta loved to show how powerful he was to everyone.

It was getting old, and she could clearly see through his tough guy game, but nonetheless, someone needed to distract them, and change the subject, or these two would end up in a fight, and then, a mess would follow. Not only that, but all their loud yelling was disturbing her flow of ideas, while she was trying to come up with a way to help her friends.

Bulma might not be able to find, but that didn't mean she couldn't help at all; she was supposed to be the smartest one in the group, and a scientist on top of that. Surely if there as a way to avoid fighting, and save everyone's life, she would be the one to come up with it; there had to be something she could do! If only these two would shut up for two seconds, and stop interrupting her thinking, she might be able to process a few ideas.

All of the sudden, Bulma smiled, as an idea hit her like a brick on the head.

"Hey, hold on," she said, raising her hands up, her tone extremely excited. "I just had a great idea!"

She closed her hands into tiny fists, extremely pumped up with her revelation to come. She just had the greatest idea, although it wasn't very surprising, since she had been qualified a genius.

"I know a way we can save the Earth and not fight." The non fighting part was also working very well for her, since she was not a fighter, but was tired of sitting out every battles. "We'll get rid of Dr. Gero."

Honestly, how hard was it to come up with such an idea? It they carefully eliminated their problem now, there would be no chance for the old scientist to create his robots, and for them to kill nearly of her friends three years from now! Nobody would have to train restlessly, or even risk their lives to save Earth again.

At first, the group seemed a little perplexed with her idea, but by watching her confident face, and replaying her words through their mind, and decided that even though it didn't include them fighting, it was a great idea.

They turned their attention to Bulma, extremely interested in finding out the rest of her brilliant plan, which she was more than excited to share with them.

Bulma, extremely excited that for once her battle plans was chosen, walked closer to everyone, before explaining her plan.

"Here's what I think you should do," said Bulma, putting one of her hand on her hip, as if the emphasis her words. "Use the dragon balls to summon the dragon. He'll tell you where the doctor is and we take out the doctor, and all of our problems are solved," said Bulma before winking.

This was the easiest plan they could ever come up with; the old scientist was completely harmless at the moment, and it would only take seconds to get rid of him. There wasn't one complicated part in the whole scheme, it was all complete genius.

Krillin's fear of dying, and disappeared forever was nearly all dissipated by her plan, and he found himself breathing out of relief.

"That's great!" said Krillin with a smile, his face filled with a burst of hope for the first time since he had heard the news. "In fact, I'm surprise I didn't think of that before you did!" said Krillin, knowing he was usually one to find a way out of such a deadly fight. "I mean, who wants to wait around for 3 years anyway?"

Waiting for such a long period of time, actually seemed to be worst, since they had all these years to worry, and stress over the fight. After all, even though they were warned, who said all of them would lived?

Vegeta was the only one who didn't seem happy about her plan, but it didn't come as a surprise since he would usually go against everything she would say. It wasn't his fault that the woman could be so damn stupid sometimes. It was as if she didn't think before she opened her mouth, and he could hardly believed she was a world recognized scientist and genius. Idiot.

"By the time we find the dragon balls, it will be too late!" he nearly yelled, startling Krillin with the sound of his didn't have time to waste, looking the damn balls, because every second waste away would be a second they could put on their precious training.

Humans were such cowards, and weak, anything to escape a fight! A saiyan would run first into the battle, even if he had no chance of survival, but they were the only real warrior.

Vegeta turned his attention to Bulma ready to destroy her, and shove her idea down in the ground. "Leave the great ideas to the great minds like my own," said Vegeta clearly insulting Bulma but it wasn't his fault the woman was an idiot, and didn't think things through.

He had chosen to remain silent, and think about every single options and opportunity.

The more time passed, and the more Bulma was getting irritated by Vegeta; honestly who could ever stand such an arrogant person?

"Get over yourself!"

Obvious, Vegeta was trying to prove he was superior, but he had another coming his way if he thought he could pick a verbal fight with her. "You wouldn't know a great idea even if it hit you in the head, you big dummy!"

That stupid obnoxious saiyan! Although, he had guts; he was one of the very few to ever stand up to her.

Immediately, Krillin began to panic, as he felt like he was caught in the middle of Bulma and Vegeta, and he wanted to avoid such thing. With these two, it was unpredictable to tell, when they would jump at each other's throat, and he didn't want to be squeezed in between, risking to get hurt.

Bulma was quite a fierce woman, and of course Vegeta was the only one stupid enough to pick up a fight with her. Actually, strangely, it made things perfect since, it was only safe to be around Bulma if you were Vegeta, and vice-versa.
Noticing the reluctance Vegeta could bring to certain people, she ran in direction of Goku, before putting her hands on his arms, her eyes filling with tears. Vegeta was such an idiot, but stubborn, Goku would be much easier to get on her side.

"Goku, you're with me aren't you?" There was no way he could refuse her such a thing, not after everything they went through together. They had been friends most of their lives!

It seemed the happy go lucky saiyan did not realize the panic and desperation coming from Bulma, and he scratched his head, thinking it through.

"Wow, I guess for this one, I have to side with Vegeta."

Not only did he earn a gasp of surprise from his friends around him, but Bulma was shocked. Obviously, Goku seemed to be the only not that did not notice how hard this was affecting her. She simply felt limp to the ground, not believing the words that escaped his mouth.

"Beside, Dr. Gero hasn't made the androids yet, so he hasn't done anything wrong."

In Goku's book, you couldn't harm an innocent person, it was exactly what Dr. Gero was at the moment. Heck, he had even given Frieza a second chance, so he would not kill a harmless old man. "Well, we'll just have to wait."

Bulma quickly got up from the ground, her usually energy flowing through her body. "But that boy said the androids were strong enough to wipe us all out."

She had no intention of watching everyone she loved die, while all she could do was stand there and watch. Sometimes she wondered if they loved fighting so much, that they actually forgot how dangerous it was! Bulma was barely able to be involved in battles, and she wanted to change their mind about all this fighting. Boys could be so immature so time, thinking everything had to be solve with blood and fists!

"Why do you want to fight them head on?" You could hear by the tone in her voice that was she becoming desperate. "Think about it guys, you don't want to fight them!"

For the first time in a while, Tien voiced his opinions, and moved forward. "No, we don't, but it looks like we have to." Although their chances were slim, he could not leave his friends to fight alone, he would help them to the best of his abilities.

"What about you two? Are you with us?" asked Tien referring to Yamcha and Puar.

Puar seemed extremely scared, as usual, but Yamcha did not hesitate one second, and nodded. Just like Tien, he refused to let his friends fight without him, and he would give it all he had, even if it was completely hopeless. Bulma watched as more and more people joined into this frenzy, and could not believe their stubbornness.

She was trying to give them an alternative, why were they fighting so hard against her? The next one to join in was Krillin, who decided that if Yamcha and Tien were willing to join, even though they had previously died, he could put his life on the line to.

"Well, I know I have to do," said Krillin, looking at Gohan. "I'm in, even though the odds are against us, and this will seriously cut into my social life." After all, if they did not survive this, there would be no social life for him, meaning training had to be his focus.

Bulma could not believe how easily everyone agreed to this, and she blamed it on Vegeta. If he had not voice his opinions, she would have probably gotten everyone to side with her, but he had to get in the way. Although it was frustrating, it was enjoyable to a certain extend, since she had never felt this thrill feeling of someone challenging her in the past.

Over the years, everyone had understood that it was better to remain on her good side than to face her wrath. Vegeta was different, but it wasn't all good points; he was an arrogant bastard, who thought he was a freaking God walking on Earth. Big head much? On top of that, Yamcha had agreed to fight, and it only made her blood boil in her veins even more.

They had gotten back together very recently, and she had no intention of losing him, like she had when Nappa and Vegeta killed him.

While everyone was busy looking over the details, and ignoring Bulma, Piccolo and Vegeta were glaring at each other, thinking about their previous conversation. Vegeta couldn't stand any of the people surrounding him at the moment, and their weakness was what he despised the most.

They actually thought they would be able to help during the fight; they should have listen to the woman's idea, at least, it would have kept them alive. It had been proven in the past that all of them could die very easily, and their input would make very little difference. In his perspective, they were all useless, and he did not need them to fight, not even Kakarot. Soon enough, Vegeta would reach the super saiyan level, and he would take care of those androids himself. He was the prince of all saiyans, and he didn't need anyone.

Bulma sighed heavily, not believing they could overlook her this way. Although, she didn't care anymore, because she decided that if they didn't like her ideas, she would not try to help them anymore.

"Don't come crying to me when those androids take over the Earth, and en-slave everybody," said Bulma before crossing her arms in front of her chest. "Because I'll just say, I told you so."

Since Piccolo was one of the few to know about Vegeta and Bulma's future, he did not fail to notice how alike they looked at the moment. Both had attitude problem, turning their back to the others, and their arms cross in front of their chest; what an interesting pair they made.

These two stubborn leaders seemed to be made for each other, although Piccolo do not wish Vegeta on anyone. He had no forgotten the type of monster he was, and although Bulma had her flaws, she was a kind hearted person, who was always present for her friends. He had yet to see a good side to Vegeta, and he had feelings, that day would never come.

Quickly enough, Goku intervened, and told everyone where to meet three years from now, and Vegeta decided he did not need to remain in everyone's company any longer. All of them were strangers to him, and he would not miss them during the three years to come. Also, he had much better things to do, like training, and had wasted enough time on these losers. Without saying a word to anyone, he flew off in the distance, and in direction of Capsule Corp, where he would be staying during these three years.

Completely ignoring Vegeta, goodbyes were made, and Goku was getting ready to leave with Piccolo and Gohan, but before he could do so, he remembered something important.

He turned his head in direction of Bulma, a big goofy smile on his face. "Oh and, Bulma. Hey, I hope you have a healthy baby," said Goku, before flying off with Piccolo, and Gohan.

Bulma blinked a few times, slightly taken back by Goku's comments; have a healthy baby? What in the world was that even supposed to mean? There was no in hell he was implying Yamcha and her were expecting baby -they were not even sexual involved together again. It was way too soon for her to even consider building a family, especially since her relationship with Yamcha was not strong yet.

Perhaps Goku had gone crazy, or he expected a lot to happen during these long three years. She watched them leave, as they left her, Yamcha and Krillin covered in smoke, causing them to cough slightly.

As soon as the smoke dissipated, Krillin turned in direction of Bulma, intrigued. "What did he mean Bulma? Are you going to be a mom?" He was aware that Bulma and Yamcha were a couple again, but he didn't think they had thought that far ahead in their future already!

"No way!" immediately said Bulma, clarifying the mess Goku had created. She had no idea what in the world was Goku talking about, because they would be no baby in her life for a very long time. "I don't know what Goku was talking about."

Not only was she not ready to full settle down yet, since she wasn't sure of what she wanted, but she certainly wasn't ready to be a mother. If she to have a child, she needed the right person, and the right environment to raise it. She wasn't saying she never wanted to be a mother, but the thought had never crossed her mind before, meaning the time was not now. She was so busy with Capsule Corp, the constant threats, and super fighters that had threatened her friends, and Earth, that she didn't have time for kids right now. Although, truth to be told, she wasn't getting any younger -not that she was old.

Yamcha came forward, a red crimson color spread across his cheeks. "Hm, he was trying to say maybe it's about time you get married and started a family, heh?" said Yamcha, very hopefully.

Bulma and him had been together for a very long time, and even if they had split up a few times, he still knew she was the right on for him. They had shared a lot together, including the high and the low, which meant their relationship a lot stronger. He wouldn't mind spending the rest of his life with Bulma, and having a family. He always imagined that would be the way things would end up.

Bulma sighed, heavily feeling as if everything was transformed into chaos. Her solution to the android had been much easier, and simpler, but now, everyone would be constantly busy, training to make sure they would not die, and they would be no time for them to hang out. That also meant she would be stuck with either Yamcha or Vegeta, every day, all the time, for three long years. That was enough to drive a girl nuts.

Also, there was another problem to the mix; Vegeta. Bulma would be stuck with a stubborn saiyan, always trying to order her around. Although Bulma had been the one to offer, it didn't mean she enjoyed having him around her. He could be quite the jerk sometimes, although, she might not see much of him, since he would want to spend all his time training, trying to surpass Goku.

To be honest it would never happen; no matter how hard Vegeta tried, he would never be stronger than Goku. On top of that, there was now the Yamcha issue; now, because of Goku, he seemed to have in mind, it was time for them to settle down.

Bulma did wish to have a family with Yamcha one day, which they had talk about before, and she dearly loved him but things were different now. The reason why they broke up was because he cheated on her, which meant now, he had to earn her trust back before they could think about the future. Now, they were different people, and things were different, and she simply wanted to be re-assured that they could make it this time.

Bulma had every intention of involving herself fully with him, but first of all, he needed to prove himself, and show he could be faithful this time around. Bulma didn't doubt his words, but she didn't want to get her heart broken again, she wanted the real thing.

She was also testing him in his weakness; they hadn't even had sex yet, and she desired to wait. Yamcha was a very sexual man, and she needed to verify that even if they weren't back together physically, he could still be faithful to her. Although he never pushed her about it, he would still ask about it a few times, but usually once she said no, he would understand her position, and move in. She couldn't really blame him for that after all, since boys would always be boys. As she thought about Yamcha, she turned her head in his direction. Right now, she had no way home, and she needed to get back before Vegeta; Kami knew it wasn't safe to leave him alone with her parents! Who knew what he would do if he was pissed off, which was currently the case?

"Well, who's getting me home?" asked Bulma before putting her hands on her hips.

Krillin looked at Yamcha, before shrugging his shoulders. "Hey, she's your girlfriend," he said before giggling nervously. He was extremely grateful he didn't have her as his girlfriend, because he would not be able to deal with her when she was pissed off.

Yamcha sighed heavily before walking over to Bulma, wrapping his arms around her waist tightly. Unlike what she believed, he hadn't missed the way she hadn't comment on them having a family together, and while he knew she had some trust issues with him at the moment, it didn't mean they would not plan anything.

In the past, they used to talk about getting married, and having the perfect little life; why couldn't they still have these dreams? Of course, he didn't want to push her since he might lost her, but he hoped she would come around soon, since every day, it would get harder. There was so much he wanted to share with her, yet, sometimes she would simply pull away.

This time around, he wouldn't make the same mistake, and he would respect her; he dearly loved Bulma, and he wanted to make sure he would not lose her again. She was his, and no one else's. Obviously having Vegeta living in her house was ticking him off, but he had to live somewhere right?

Although, it was probably due to his bad luck that he ended up living at his girlfriend's house! The one person Yamcha despised the most was Vegeta, and now he would have to see him every day, and share the same space. On top of that, Vegeta, who hated everyone, detested Yamcha the most, and nearly made sure his life was a living hell.

Bulma waved goodbye at Krillin as Yamcha and her flew up in the air. And now, the fun was about to start, she thought, sarcastically.

Trouble, trouble.
