Chapter 20 - More Than Just Instincts And Primal Lusts
Bulma decided that since it was her birthday, she would escape tonight. She would use the influx of warriors as the commotion needed for a distraction and she checked her notes and saw that around 9pm was the best time to escape, as most were eating at this time and hopefully the docking area would be quite diserted
She tore off a piece of bread and ate it slowly, it was her breakfast and she had to make it last. As she was chewing and thinking of something invent and fingering the scar on her neck, she heard a soft knock on her door.
"It's open" she called, hoping it wasn't anyone to enquire about an invention she had thought of. She heard the door open and bent her head to make it look as if she was hard at work. The person said nothing, which was disquieting and after awhile she looked up.
Vegeta stood in the doorway, his expression blank and his breathing deep. She stared at him, with the same expression, she was still quite uncomfortable with the way he had left and by what they had done. She had never considered herself an adult, her relationship with Yamcha was, while serious and intimate, not adult. However, Vegeta was a man, a Saiya-jin to be precise, but he wasn't a teenager, he was mature and what they had done seemed more intimate than anything she had ever done. She couldn't bring herself to smile at him yet, not after he had left so abruptly after turning her into a woman. She suddenly felt a deep pang of guilt, she and Yamcha had been each others firsts and what she had imagined, only. She had broken that promise she had made herself.
"You're bac-" she began to say, but he closed the door quickly and quietly then covered her mouth with his hand.
"Don't speak, onna..." he said before removing his hand and replacing it with his mouth, his hands ran up her arms and held her head, but Bulma sat there, she didn't close her eyes, she didn't kiss back and she kept the same expression. He opened his eyes and looked into her big blue eyes.
"What is it?" he said impatiently, sitting on the bed and looking at her with a frown, but not a frown of concern for her, more of a frown at her.
"Why wouldn't you want me to speak?" she asked, averting her gaze away form him, she grabbed her arm and helf it tightly.
"Because I don't have long. I wanted to be with you, I need you...I couldn't stop thinking about you. Bulma." She looked back at him when he said her name, it was like it confirmed who she was. Her feelings came rushing back, the feelings she had had when she was carefree on Earth. She closed her eyes and smiled a genuine smile, she sighed deeply and opened her eyes and looked at Vegeta intently. He quirked his eyebrow to question what had prompted the sudden change in her disposition.
"How long do you have?" she asked, standing up and kicking off her shoes and locking the door. She turned to him, where he half lay on her bed.
"Few hours till they begin to question my whereabouts or Nappa and Raditzu get lonely. You should take this as a compliment. Normally, a onna as ugly and low class as you would not even get to speak to me, the Prince of Saiya-jins." he told her sternly.
"Is that so?" she said, straddling his lap, ignoring his insults and obvious put downs. He seemed a little confused as to why she didn't seem in awe of his title, power and the fact she was allowed in such close proximity without being killed.
"Don't expect me to acknowledge you. This is it. I am only so kind to you because we are alone and you bring me primal pleasures." She sighed, she could not fathom why when he had arrived at her room wanting the obvious and here she was, willing, and he kept talking on and her patience growing thin. She decided if he made one more comment she would leave.
"Well, it's not like I'm in love. You think I could love a man like you? You are always frowning and don't look particuarly nice, you insult me and I know this is not a relationship that I'll tell my parents, friends or boyfriend about, though they might ask about the new neck accessory, I'm only like this with you because we are alone too. We are equal." she snapped, her lips inches from his.
"You are no equal to me. You ugly, low class, annoying, loud and-" he began, but she didn't let him finish, she pushed him back on the bed and pinned him to the bed. He wrapped his arms around her slid his cool hands up under her top and held her back just under her shoulder blades. She tore at his already torn battle armour, she peeled it from his muscular and hot body, she let her fingers trace his scars while he kissed down her neck and ears. They paused kissing to remove each others clothes, they stood while Vegeta slipped off her trousers, and before he could remove her underpants, she pushed him back on the bed and slipped them off herself and lay herself upon him. He looked up at her, and pushed her hair away from her eyes, and she placed her hand on his cheek. Then, she assisted him become a part of her, and she in turn became a part of him. This time, she was more aware and in control, she was in less shock than the first time they had done such an act, so she was able to move in a more definate way. She watched in contentment as Vegeta lay back and looked deep in exctasy, his hands firmly on her lower back, she leant forward and kissed him deeply on the lips, and dropped kisses down his neck. As she reached his chest, he suddenly grabbed her with alarming strength and flipped her over so he was above her, and continued their act of love. As she felt so safe and pleasured under him. She felt the pleasure mount up and let a little moan when it climaxed, he too let out a moan and finished. He rolled off her and lay by her side in the bed, he didn't fall asleep, he just looked at her. For a few minutes they were silent and just lay and looked at each other in contentment.
"Why are you on this ship, under the power of Fureiza?" he asked after awhile, head propped up on his elbow. She rolled to turn him, and gathered the sheet around her, not wanting him to see her now, she felt more vunerable while they were talking than when they were being intimate. This talking somehow reached deeper into her soul than any sex could, but maybe that was just how she had conditioned her heart to protect herself from pain and heart break.
"I was kidnapped. Well, I offered myself to make them leave my planet and thus save it. I was inventing things and they picked up on the signals and came to investigate. So here I am. Why are you here then?" she asked him, lying down to look at the ceiling.
"Fureiza took power of my people. Killed my otousan and the rest of the Saiya-jins when I was young. He then subjected me to the humilation of taking orders from the monster that destroyed my father, kingdom and pride. It's hopeless. I only stay so I can train, so I can become the legendary Super Saiya-jin, as my otousan believed I could. And when I do, I'll destroy Fureiza!" he said passionately.
Bulma sat up a bit and looked at him, with a smile on her lips. "What will you do after that?" she asked.
"Rule the universe, I will be the most powerful and nobody would be able to defeat me!" he said strongly, a fierce look on his features. Bulma frowned when he said this, and turned away from him and sat up.
"You kill him and you become him. I honestly believe you can defeat him, but when you do, you should have a better plan for the future. You realise that your aim to rule the universe and being the most powerful is Fureizas aim too? You would become just like him. Why do you want to rule the universe?" she asked, her back still to him.
"So I can avenge my father and carry out his plan for the Saiya-jins. And so I can be the most powerful." he said simply.
"You avenge your father and your people by killing Fureiza, I accept that, but as justification to rule the universe? No. How can you carry on the Saiya-jins anyway? Only 3 of you remain, and you are all male. To be the most powerful you have to spar with others to increase your strength and improve on things, not just to kill. If you destroy a planet at random, that planet could have held somebody your equal in power, and you would never get to fight them because you took the cowardly way. Please, rethink your aim." she implored of him, turning around and facing his steely gaze.
"You think that once I am ruler I would get rid of you, that is possibly true, that is your meaning for this speech is it not?" he asked her, expressionless.
"Of course not baka, you know me well enough to know that I just speak my mind honestly. The truth is you are capable of great things, but only if your motive is right. I heard a great martial artist once say: 'Anyone can build up their strength, become very strong, but only a few are capable of turning their emotion into power.' For so long you shut out emotion, thinking it a weakness, but ask yourself; is it?"
He sat up and leant against the wall, the sheet of the bed around his waist, and Bulma sitting on her knees the sheet pulled around her before him.
"All emotions are weaknesses. They cloud your mind, only someone free of emotions has a free mind"
"But why do you fight?" she asked.
"For revenge" he replied.
"Because Fureiza destroyed your family and people. How did that make you feel?" she prompted, hoping for him to reveal some hint of emotion.
"It made me feel like I wanted revenge." he told her, his eyes dark and forbidding. Bulma sighed and looked down. She moved closer to him, and lifted his face to hers. She looked into his eyes, and when she was sure he was looking back, she said;
"I've seen your soul through your eyes, Vegeta. Although you claim to have no emotions, I have seen the raging storm of emotions in your eyes. One day, I will see them on your face rather than through your eyes. I mean, would you honestly feel nothing if they killed me today?" she asked.
He looked at her, his eyes closed and he imagined what he would feel if she got killed today. He felt sorrow, anger, deep pain and such saddness. He would miss her. He loved her.
"No, you are far below me." he lied to her, and winced inwardly as she turned away and look towards the wall and fight back the tears which had welled up in her eyes.
"You will change that opinion some day! And I won't even have to wish to the Eternal Dragon for a new personality for you" she said, jokingly but sadness still evident in her voice.
"Who?" he asked, half laughing. Trying to forget what he had just told her, and amazed she had not kicked him out. He then understood she was as lonely as he was, perhaps more so.
"You have never heard of the Dragonballs?!" she asked, amazed. He raised his eyebrows in a pithying way and shook his head. She grinned and reguarded him with a air of superior.
"Well then, what are they?" he asked, when she didn't answer but carried on looking at him with a superior air. She giggled and he looked confused since it was the first time he had heard a giggle.
"Well, on Chikyuu, no other planet, there are these magical balls. Well, seven of them, they are orange and they each have a star on them, one to seven. If you gather all the Dragonballs together you can summon the Eternal Dragon, Shenron, and wish for anything you like. Anything! One of the reasons I sacrificed myself to this is because I wanted Fureiza to leave before he got wind of them, how terrible would that have been!"
Vegeta looked at her in awe, deep in thought. He had not thought anything like that could exist, he had heard rumours about Namek-sei but not on Chikyuu, it vexed him deeply. What meant something to him though, was that Bulma trusted him to tell her this. Bulma grinned at him and cuddled up to him, but they were interupted by Vegetas scouter making a noise.
"Prince Vegeta? You are needed. Come to Fureiza now." the voice of Nappa sounded tinny and far away, but it conveyed a hint of terror and disgust.
He pushed her aside when he heard Nappas voice, as if he could see if and Nappa was scowling at him. Without a word he sat up and got off the bed and smelt his skin critically, satisfied he didn't smell much of her on him he began to get dressed. Bulma didn't say a word either, but looked down and picked up her pad of paper from the floor next to the bed. She had planned to leave tonight, she had a window of opportunity and couldn't afford to miss it. She had been lacking inspiration for inventions for a few days and the longer she went without an idea the more certain she was they were going to kill her, which didn't help the flow of ideas. She wanted to leave, but almost didn't if it meant never seeing Vegeta again, and chastised herself for he was a murderer who rarely acknowledged her, yet she had fallen in love with him and was certain he could never love her back. When she looked up, he was gone, without even saying goodbye.
Vegeta leant against the the outside of her door, wondering how the hell he had got himself into this situation. How weak he had been to be privy to his emotions, and to let her see such a side of him, a side he didn't know existed. He realised that no matter how hard he tried to convince himself otherwise, he was falling in love with her and he also knew it was doomed because there was no way she would be able to survive here much longer, as strong and as brave as she was, she wasn't a warrior.
