Dragon Ball/Z/GT Fan Fiction ❯ Maaret and Vegeta ❯ 1 ( Chapter 1 )
Maaret and Vegeta, M.V
His eyes narrowed as he rushed at her, the sash of his royally colored armor threatening to shred as he grabbed her black patent leather frock coat and slammed her into the wall. He ground her back into it for a moment, drawing a deep grimace out of her light and pretty face and deep groan of pain out of her fragile neck before he threw her to the ground. Everyone in the court winced, her words didn't really scathe. Why was Ou-Sama behaving so? She propped herself up on and elbow, her tight, red patent leather top slipping off the top of her low cut black patent leather pants. She squeezed her eyes shut and murmured a respectful prayer before the summoning words to the departed comrades and ancestors. The court's temperature dropped to just below freezing with a gentle breeze, swaying the window dressings and frosting the windows. A line of ice grey into a circle, the crystals springing forth faster than any eye could see. King Vegeta snarled, he was not impressed by cheap tricks as he called forth a small ki ball in his palm. It flickered in the cold and the frozen air around Maaret's motionless form teased the lengths of her coat, draping about her knees and blew a veneer of ice onto her boots as it lifted her off the floor and created a sphere, sucking all the coldness in with her, lightening her complexion. The court seemed to sigh in posture as the frost on the windows and dressings turned to a damp mist and the air was comfortable again. Vegeta scoffed and sent the ki ball to his target, right between Maaret's eyes. A ghostly white thing appeared and solidified around the gold-white ki blast and shredded it into a thousand harmless sparks, tinting the protective sphere around Maaret a dull, glowing pink. The white thing, shapeless and milky cleared and the King, Vegeta saw her still, seated calmly in the center of the sphere, floating as she meditated peacefully. Another thing, but a blue white one, appeared from the air slowly, like a frozen mist, promising snow, forming from the air and soaked into her soft, pallid skin. Vegeta felt her small ki power increase a hundred fold, making her an almost formidable enemy. The air around her, the spirits she had called forth to protect her with their lifeless life and limb, crackled with her spirit-energy, much like ki, but entirely different. Still she did not move, it didn't seem that she even breathed, it was almost like she was suspended. The king glanced down at his courtroom, not a single servant of his gasped or blinked. Most of them were politely interested, but none were behaving in the slightest inappropriate way. His anger released into a rage inside of him and he flew towards her, drawing his fist back in a threatening gesture to her quiet form. He tore through the sphere and the frozen air shocked him still as he threw a strike to her face. Her glowing flesh moved with his punch, like dough, stretching er features into a revolting parody. He stared, not believing until all of her just blinked out and appeared as a silently laughing figure holding his fist in her own palm. Grinning mutely he felt a twinge on his ki-self, as if she were sucking his ki out through his skin. She pulled on him harder and faster, the white glowing of her flesh separating into two, showing a distinct likeness of her, still sitting quietly meditating, eyes closed, arms down and lips sealed. The other glowed, it was the thing, the blue-white spirit creature that carried the same sickly ghost-white hue he'd seen before and laughed with a silent insanity, a giddiness as it held King Vegeta's fist. His ki energy flickered about that spirit-ghost, dancing and jumping between it's memory of a body and Vegeta's own. He summoned all his physical strength, his ki spent entirely, and ripped his hand from it's grasp and fell to the bottom of the sphere. The form grinned wickedly, still holding Maaret's delicate, rounded features and hissed just audibly as it stood on air, the frock coat shadow unfolding to it's knees and reached toward Vegeta. He reached up and out of a desperate will he summoned the mother of all ki blasts to his fingertips, the wicked creature became gauntly ecstatic in anticipation. Vegeta was just ready to release the ki when the ghost-shadow of Maaret contorted and writhed soundlessly until it was drawn with lighting speed into Maaret's body. Vegeta blinked and his ki dissipated as he lay on his back, at the bottom of the sphere, looking up at the undisturbed form of Maaret. His trance was broken when the sphere broke for a moment and he dropped out of the freezing air into the warm and landed loudly in the middle of the court. Breaking the spellbinding silence.
