Pan took off towards the waterfall where she had left Trunks, her tears flying backwards. "No, please, Please tell me he isn't gone." She pleaded.
"He can't be, he just can't be, I won't allow it, no not Trunks." She flew as fast as she could to the place, she saw Trunks standing there looking out over the water. Pan sighed some relief. "Thank god."
"Trunks." She ran after him.
Trunks turned and looked at the woman who stole his heart. "Pan? Come to laugh some more?"
"No, I thought…I thought." She could not bring herself to say it.
"You thought what Pan?"
"Nothing?" I uh…just…" She did not know what to say.
Trunks turned around, "Well if you aren't here for any reason, I suggest you go home."
"Trunks. I…"
"Pan, please, I don't want you here."
"Why?"
"It hurts too much to look at you, and not be able to hold you." Trunks sighed, he wanted to hold her more than anything, to feel her in his arms was all he wanted most in life.
"Trunks?"
"Pan, Please, I know you don't love me, now would you please just leave me alone."
Pan just stood there, she wanted her best friend back, she wanted the Trunks she could talk to when she was in trouble, or something was bothering her. However, because of his revelation to his feelings, she could not seem to talk to him anymore like they use too.
Trunks turned around. "What do I have to do, to get you to leave?"
"Trunks talk to me, please! We used to talk all the time, we would tell each other everything."
"Yeah, Pan everything, do you know how many times I wanted to rip my ears off every time you talk about your latest boyfriend, or the crush you had? DO YOU?!?! Do you know how hard it was for me to listen to you say all those things, hoping that maybe you would say it was me? DO YOU?!?! He shouted at her, tears threatening to fall.
Pan listened to Trunks' heart felt words. She could not believe he was saying these words. Pan never realized her talking about crushes and boyfriends to him hurt him. "Trunks, I never realized…"
"Of course you didn't Pan, you never realize." Trunks decided he had enough of trying to get her to leave, he left instead.
"Trunks wait." Pan shouted after him, but he was long gone. "Why does he have to love me, why can't he love someone who loves him and him only?" Pan thought to her, she took a deep breath and took off after Trunks.
Pan found Trunks in his room at Capsule Corp, she notice he was staring up the ceiling as if was in deep thought.
"Why, can't I get Pan off my mind?" He asked himself, not knowing Pan was outside his window.
"He thinks about me? Why would he do that?" Pan whispered, she hated to see Trunks in despair. She however needed him to understand, how she looked at him, she did not love him in the way he wanted her too. "I need to really make myself clear. Make him understand where he stands." Pan said to her as she tapped on the window.
Trunks looked up. He got up and opened the window, not to be rude. He however did not acknowledge her presences as he went onto do other things.
"Trunks I need to make me clear to you." Pan said as she got close to him, she.
"I can't love you, it wouldn't be right." Pan said as she sat down on his bed, she sighed. "Trunks you do know we are thirteen years apart."
"I know that Pan, don't you think I don't." Trunks cried. "Don't you think, I have told myself many times we couldn't be together because of the age difference, but I was willing to give it a try in spite the age difference, because I loved you so much?" Trunks continued his shouting.
Pan got up she went over to him. "Trunks, I know how you feel; it's just that I…" Pan started to say however, Trunks cut her off kissing her. It lasted approximately of three seconds. Pan however pushed him off her. "What the hell or you doing?" She ran out his door not waiting for his answer.
She got to the top of the stairs, and stopped she brought her fingers up to her lips and touched them. She was not going to admit it, but she did think he was good kisser.
Pan ran out of the mansion, and headed home. Normally she would have flown home; she however needed to clear her mind so she had decided to walk.
"He kissed me, why would he do something so stupid? He knows I'm engaged to Uub, he knows I only see him as a brother, why is he making this so hard." Pan thought as she continued to walk home.
Meanwhile, Trunks was watching out his bedroom window at the raven-haired beauty. "I'll make you see me; I won't be invisible to you for long Pan.
What are you doing tonight
I wish I could be a fly on your wall
Are you really alone
Still in your dreams
Why can't I bring you into my life
What would it take to make you see that I'm alive
Trunks sighed as he grabbed a picture of Pan off his dresser. "How do I bring you into to my life, what can I do to make you see that I am alive." He asked the picture of Pan as she traced the frame.
"What are you doing, after you leave here? Where do you go? Does he come over? Do you tell him you love him? Does he make love to you? The way I should. I wish I could be a fly on your wall Pan, I wish I could see everything you do.
He wished he was invisible, and then he could see and look at Pan with such admiration, as he did when she did not know his true feelings. When he had them hidden to the rest of the world, and to her.
He wished he could tell her where he stood, where she stood. If he was invisible, he could just watch her in her room, not worrying about what she thought of him.
"Pan, I know you don't love me now, but I will get you to see I am not invisible." Trunks held on to the picture as he lay down on his bed, he fell asleep as he dreamt of his raven-haired goddess.
Dream Sequence.
`Where am I?" He asked himself. He saw his parents smiling. He was in a church, clad in a tuxedo. Was he at a wedding? If so who is wedding, was it his.
He then saw the faces of his parents as the stood with smiles plastered on their faces. "Mom is you alright?" He asked, but did not get any answer. "Dad?" Vegeta however did not answer either.
"Mom, Dad?" Trunks turned around to see his raven-haired goddess. "Pan? He called out to her; however, she just smiled and walked past him.
"No Pan, wait." Pan however did not acknowledge him, no one was.
"Mom? Dad? Pan?" He looked for her, he turned to see her on the alter. "No, Pan, don't marry him. I love you; please just give me a chance." Pan however still did not here him as she said her Vows and was pronounced married to Uub. "No, wait Pan you can't marry him." He reached out for her. Pan smiled as she kissed her new husband. The guests cheered as the two newlyweds walked hand in hand down the aisle. "Pan, no wait come back, come back, don't leave me."
Trunks ran out of the church, "Don't leave me, and come back." He shouted after her. He however was too late, too late to do anything.
"Comeback, no come back…" He fell to his knees as he sobbed.
End of Dream.
"No, no, don't leave me. PAN." Trunks shot up, his breathing labored as he tried to catch his breath; he looked around to see it was all a dream. "A dream, that's all it was, just a dream."
"Pan, I'm not letting you go, I'm not giving up." He said as he changed into some street clothes, he jumped out the window and high tailed it to the Son Home.
Meanwhile Pan was sitting on her bed, looking at two pictures. One of her fiancé Uub, the other of her best friend Trunks. She did love both of them, she thought she only loved Trunks as an older brother, but since he kissed her, she had been having some doubts.
Doubts about her relationship with Uub, Doubts about her feelings for Trunks. `Dende, why did Trunks have to tell me he loved me, why did he have to kiss me?' She looked up at the night sky. She sighed as she lay back down onto her bed.
`Maybe some sleep, will help me get through this.' She thought to her self as she let sleep take hold of her, she hoped a goodnights sleep with help her sort out her feelings.
Trunks reached her house, and made his way to her bedroom window, knowing that Pan slept with it open he stepped in it, he lowered his key. He just watched her sleep. She looked so perfect, so peaceful.
"Pan." He whispered as he knelt down by her bed, he arranged her hair so it lay behind her, he lightly stroked her cheek. "I love you, so much." He quietly whispered.
Trunks just sat there and watched her sleep, admiring her perfect beauty. Admiring everything, he loved about her.
Pan had stirred awake. She sat up, rubbing the sleep from her eyes. "Anyone there?" Trunks had however left just before she had awakened. "That's weird, was there someone here?" Pan asked her as she looked around her room.
She then spotted a handwritten letter sitting upon her nightstand. "How'd this get here?" She wondered as she looked at the writing, she recognized it right away as Trunks'
"I wonder why Trunks left me a letter." She opened the letter.
Dear Pan,
I know you do not see me now, and that you do not need me. However, I know how I feel; I know you can feel this way as well. Pan you are my world everything about you, I love. I love you.
I know you are getting married to Uub, I however think it is a little early for either of you to even marry. Pan I know if you just gave me a chance, we can be perfect together, just think about it. I will never stop loving you.
Love you forever and a day.
Trunks.
Pan sat and re read the letter, she finally let the letter slip through her fingers to the floor. "Trunks? Why are you doing this?" She got up, put on some clothes, and flew to Trunks' house.
Once she had arrived, she had found Trunks was not in his bed, she however discovered he was in his bathroom as she heard the shower running. `I'll just wait here.' She thought as she sat down on his bed, she lay back on his pillow.
When Trunks finished with his shower, he stepped out of the bathroom. Clad in only a towel, his hair dripping wet. He stopped shocked at what he never expected to see. His ladylove, sound asleep on his bed.
He grabbed a blanket; he covered her up with it. He through on some sweat pants, he kissed her forehead. "Sleep well Panny Chan." He then went to crash in one of the many guest rooms, the mansion had.
The next morning, Pan had awoken up when the sunlight peered in through the parted curtains. "Huh, Where am I?" Pan sat up to take notice of her surroundings. She noticed she was not in her room. "Did I fall asleep waiting for Trunks?" She wondered as one of the double doors opened, to reveal a smiling Trunks.
"Good Morning, I suppose you slept well last night?" He asked.
Pan nodded. "Yeah, but I came to talk to you. Why didn't you wake me?"
"You looked to peaceful, I didn't want to disturb you, so I covered you with a blanket and the crashed in one of our guest rooms." Trunks explained.
"Trunks, I came here last night for a reason."
"A reason?" He cocked his eyebrow.
"Yes, A reason I came here to tell you to back off, I don't want you, I don't need you, and most importantly I DON"T LOVE YOU." Pan shouted. The words just cut through him like a knife to butter. He closed his eyes. He could feel the tears build up.
"Pan." His voice broke.
"No listen Trunks; I am getting married to the only man I will ever love, and that man is Uub, not you, so just leave me alone." Pan yelled the turned around and left.
If I was invisible
Then I could just watch you in your room
If I was invisible
I'd make you mine tonight
If hearts were unbreakable
Then I can just tell you where I stand
I would be the smartest man
If I was invisible
(Wait...I already am)
As Pan was about to leave, Trunks stopped her. "Pan." Pan turned around.
"What." She asked annoyed.
He went over to his nightstand and lifted out a small velvet box. "Here take this, it's yours do whatever the hell you want with it, whether you let Uub use it or return it for Cash, I really don't care anymore. But remember one thing Pan, I loved you when I bought that, I didn't buy that ring for just anyone." Trunks explained, as he tossed her the box.
"Trunks." Pan said as she opened the box, to reveal a diamond solitaire.
"I can't take this, it doesn't belong to me." She sat the ring down on the dresser, she turned to leave. Trunks stopped her. He grabbed her and placed the box in her hands.
"I bought it for you, it belongs to you, now please take it."
Pan sighed, and took the ring. "Alright, but I'm not going to where it, or even keep it."
"It's yours to do what ever you want with Pan." Trunks said turning around. Pan sighed, and took off out his window.
Trunks sighed. "I loved you Pan." He whispered, as the last hope he had of ever being with her vanished, with her and the ring. He collapsed to the floor, as he broke down into heaving sobs.
Pan stopped in midair; she took the ring out and studied it. "Trunks purchased a ring for me, even though we weren't even together, he must have had hope." Pan sighed.
She pondered a while, on what to do with the ring. "I should just return it.
Pan sighed; she headed to the only jewelry store in town. "May I help you?"
"I came to return a ring." Pan said handing the elderly woman the ring. The woman opened the box and gasped.
"What is it?" Pan asked.
"I remember when this was purchased.
*Flashback*
Trunks entered the jewelry store he was looking for a gift for his mother; it was her birthday coming up. He wanted to buy her something to show her respect.
He looked at rings, bracelets, earrings, chokers, necklaces; he finally ended with a diamond-studded hairpin. When he was about Pay, he noticed this diamond engagement ring calling out to him.
"How much is the ring." He said pointing to the one he liked. The clerk gave him an estimate.
"I'll take that as well." The clerk nodded.
"It's for someone special." She's very special, I love her more, and then she will ever know."
"I hope it all works out for you." The clerk said as Trunks left the store.
*End of flashback*
"That happened five years ago, I wondered what happened that handsome young man, I was hoping she had said yes." The clerk sighed. "Ah well, I guess I `m just an old fashioned romantic, now lets get you taking care of." The clerk said as she noticed Pan in a daze.
"He bought this, five years ago."
"Yes."
" Did he say anything else?" Pan asked
"Only that, He loved this girl more then anything, he praised her like a goddess. I wondered who had the Capsule Corp President wrapped around her finger.
Pan smiled. She decided to keep the ring; she never realized Trunks had loved her as far back as that, she thought he just loved her because Uub loved her. She never thought it was that serious.
"I changed my mind; I think I'll keep the ring." Pan said. The clerk smiled.
"Why Trunks? Why are you playing games with me?" Pan shouted. Pan was at a stand still, she didn't know what she should do now, she was completely lost and confused, Trunks had told her he loved her, he even bought her an engagement ring. What was she going to do? She was engaged to Uub, she was in love with Uub, or at least that is what she kept telling herself and everyone.
"I love Uub, I'm getting married to Uub, and I'm in love with Uub." Pan told herself, she was able to convince herself the one she wanted was Uub and not Trunks; however, she could not get Trunks off her mind.
"No Pan concentrates on the one you want, Concentrate on Uub Chan, the one you love." Pan told her self.
I saw your face in the crowd
I called out your name
You don't hear a sound
I keep tracing your steps
Each move that you make
Wish I could be what goes through your mind
Wish you could touch me with the colors of your life
Trunks had cried him to sleep. He had fallen into another dream.
Dream;
Trunks was clad in another tuxedo, this time he wasn't at a wedding he was at a wedding anniversary. Pan and Uub's fiftieth wedding anniversary.
"Pan." He called out to her, he however did not get a response, and she did not acknowledge him. Even after fifty years, he was still invisible.
"Pan." He kept calling out to her, however no matter how many times he called her she ignored, and did not acknowledge him.
Trunks stood in the middle of the room, as life passed around him, Pan, and Uub's children and Grandchildren, were congratulating them.
"May, Our Mother, have another fifty years with our Father." Pan and Uub's children toasted their parents.
"Fifty more years for Pan and Uub." The partygoers cheered. Trunks ran out of the party.
*End of Dream*
Trunks woke up, his body dripping in water. "She may not see me, or even love me right now, I know she could." He shot up; he threw on some clothes and flew to Pan's house.
Pan closed her eyes as Trunks entered her bedroom window. "Trunks what are you doing here?" Pan was a bit irritated.
"Pan, I know you don't want anything to do with me, however, I had this dream, Pan it hurt to see you and Uub celebrating your fiftieth wedding anniversary. It hurt to see your children and grandchildren wish you fifty more years. Pan I do not want to lose you like that, I Can't imagines my life without you in it. I know I'm invisible to you, I know you will never see me as nothing more then an older brother." Pan caught off trunks.
"Trunks, I…" Pan did not know what to say.
"Pan listen for a moment, do you really want to marry Uub? Are you ready to be married?"
Pan was silent. "I don't know, Uub is the only boy I had ever been with."
"You and him?" Trunks asked, not knowing how far their relationship had gone.
"No of course not, what do you take me for Trunks? I am still a virgin."
"No reason, I don't know." Trunks let out a breath of relief; he was relieved that Pan was still a virgin. He only wished it could be him take away her gift.
"Trunks, what was this that you wanted to propose, or whatever?"
"I want to date on a trial period."
Pan was confused. "What?"
"A trial period, we date for a while we see if we are compatible, if we aren't then I'll back off, all I'm asking is just a few dates, I'm not proposing marriage." Trunks asked.
Pan was reluctant, should she try Trunks. After all Uub was the only boy she had ever been with, maybe she should broaden her horizons and date others to see how she would fare if she dated other guys. Trunks was willing to be her guinea pig. What did she have to lose. "Uub that's all." She thought, but reluctantly said.
If I was invisible
Then I could just watch you in your room
If I was invisible
I'd make you mine tonight
If hearts were unbreakable
Then I can just tell you where I stand
I would be the smartest man
If I was invisible
(Wait. I already am)
Trunks awaited Pan's answer. He was nervous that she would turn him down flat. He wished she was his, he wished his heart was unbreakable. He couldn't stand if it broke again.
"Pan?"
Pan looked up at Trunks. Trunks closed his eyes. He hoped she would say yes, he hoped she would notice him.
Trunks I..." Just as she was about to answer, Uub entered her room.
"Hey Baby!" He said as he pulled her into a passionate kiss, Trunks averted his attention, he couldn't stand to see them kissing.
"Oh, Hey Trunks." Uub finally acknowledged Trunks' presence.
"Hello Uub." Trunks said annoyed. He looked annoyed at Pan who seemed to have forgotten about Trunks proposal.
I reach out
But you don't even see me
Even when I'm screaming
Baby, you don't hear me
I am nothing without you
Just a shadow passing through...
Trunks tried to reach out for Pan, however she was to busy with Uub, she completely forgot about Trunks. Trunks was annoyed. He flew out of the window unbeknownst to Pan and Uub her were in a heated embrace.
Trunks turned around. "I'm invisible to you Pan, When he's around you don't see me, or hear me."
a/n: well how was it? Confusing? Will Trunks ever be with Pan? Will Pan wake up to see that Trunks could be the one for her?
